Instead of the normal singing they gave him a gift card and a card signed by all the employees. The franchise owners came over and talked to us and made us feel so welcome. So yesterday, 3/31, we flew in to Savannah because we are doing research in South Carolina to possibly retire here in a few years. We were very hungry and looking for lunch in Savannah because we wanted to explore the area before we headed to our hotel in Hilton Head. I found this place on Yelp and the GPS sent us on a wild goose chase before we found it. I had signed onto the waitlist before we left the airport. They were closing but they still sat us outside. Our waitress was great, she was originally from Westchester, NY. My wife had their version of a BLT which she modified and then she didn't really like it. I had the lobster and brie omelette which was fantastic. Very creative, the sauce on top with delicious chunks of lobster was just amazing. The omelette was also stuffed with cream cheese! My husband and I went for Sunday brunch and they were SLAMMED - like ran out of high chairs slammed. Iced coffee with milk was delicious- maybe next time I'll ask if they can have the bartender put a 6 count of simple syrup in there for me, because I like mine rather sweet, and sugar is a bit difficult to dissolve in cold things. Husband's house blend hot coffee was good. A note about the coffee mugs: they are super adorable and some are relatively dark on the inside. Making the need to see the need for refills difficult for their servers. As a server, I know the coffee cup my husband had would have driven me up the wall. Nevertheless, he never had to wait for a refill. Server (Alyssa) was very knowledgeable and quick to make recommendations. Brought extra napkins without being asked and offered us extra plates to share even though we didn't need it. She can definitely anticipate needs of guests, and that is something only a seasoned and caring server can do. Curious as to why they don't have any music going in the background. Would probably help with the overall din from a full dining room with multiple crying babies. 15 minute ticket time, which is impressive for the fullness of the establishment. Tzatziki tots were brilliant - black olives, chicken, tomato, goat cheese, cucumber. Compliments to the chef on the taste and the idea. The only thing I would have asked for is more titziki but I'm a monster when it comes to that sauce. Manager, possibly owner (Terrence?) stopped by the table, shook our hands, asked our names, asked how the food was, thanked us for coming by. I love that personal care. Husband got the pumpkin waffle and loved it, and would order it again. Eggs cooked perfectly. Bacon was perfectly crisp but not burnt, and not greasy! I had the peach cobbler pancakes, and they were amazingly delicious, despite having raisins in the granola, which in hindsight I should have asked about, cause I haaaaaate raisins. For some reasons my brain envisioned just oats. Next time I'll know to ask for them without. Will definitely be stopping here again. Especially so I can try their beautiful looking cocktails! I visited during their soft opening. It was my first time ever at a soft opening so I felt super cool. They still have some kinks to work out. It took a while for the food to come out, the kids menu item I ordered wasn't input properly and one of our pancakes orders was left out. However none of this is a flaw. I knew it was a soft opening so I expected things to not go perfectly. I had previously been to Another Broken Egg Cafe in Panama City and I loved the Eggs Benedict. This time I had a Crab Eggs Benedict and it was tasty! My egg wasn't as softly poached as I would have liked, but it was still just what I needed. The country grits with bacon, green onion, tomato and Gouda was a perfect pair. I also had a chance to try to blueberry lemonade mimosa and they do not skimp on the champagne. We accidentally found this place when staying in a hotel nearby (on a roadtrip) we were all very pleasantly surprised! My two kids loved the pancakes with fruit and chocolate chips. My experience could have been an outlier, I hope. We ordered the Potatoes, grits, and chicken apple sausage. It was horrible. Incredibly bland. It was just a very disappointing experience. Also, when we first arrived and waited for our table, I walked by the bar and one of the tables was a live cock roach. I quietly told a staff member so I wouldn't alarm the other patrons. Let me start by saying, I've been in Savannah/Pooler for 1.5 years and this restaurant has the BEST LEADERSHIP and Staff I've seen since coming south. Not only is the staff friendly, but they're all personable, they showed empathy in such a difficult time, and they showed compassion for anyone who waited to be seated just to eat breakfast. My first visit (yes I had multiple) was on Saturday. I was celebrating my Birthday weekend. We came in because I stopped in last year for my birthday so I felt let's keep the tradition going. The waitlist is the smartest thing ever. Anyone who is reading this, if you don't know about their waitlist, you best start using Yelp more. Their waitlist saves you a bunch of time sitting in the parking lot waiting. It's absolutely perfect, especially at a time like this. Saturday we were helped by Emily. She had a very positive attitude, she welcomed us into the restaurant, she chatted with us, and made sure our food came out in great time and also checked to see if it was perfect. Food- wife had the Lucy omelette which she was able to sub the chorizo of chicken sausage at no upcharge, or no attitude given when making such a request. This was a staff that doesn't put limitations on your food requests, which is very rare in dining. Based on her feedback, the food was amazing. I had the Traditional breakfast with Chicken Sausage. I'm not sure why most restaurants don't serve chicken sausage as a protein option. With so many dietary restrictions, and the health benefits to eating less red meat and pork, this should be an option at every breakfast restaurant. Nonetheless, my food was perfect, eggs cooked perfect, the grits were fresh, and the chicken sausage was cooked well and not spicy. Finally we were met by the GM, Shawnti. She came over to see how we were, asked about our visit and invited us to come back with this cool envelope offer they had going on. So we did exactly that. Trip #2 Sunday (Father's Day) This time we were helped by Crystal. Same attitude, same compassion, same energy, same empathy. This staff is aligned from top to bottom. Crystal was another rockstar in this building. Each of the ladies that helped us deserve praise for their hard work and care for customers. I know this post was long, but in my opinion, great service like this, should never go unheard, especially when several restaurants in the area have terrible waitstaff. Breakfast is always one of our favorite meals- we hit the jackpot when this was recommended!! We visited the Pooler location. As this was our first visit we were given 4 beignets! So make sure you tell them it is your first visit! We were so surprised to find Mexican chorizo on the menu!! Having just visited the Southwest it was a must to try- The omelet was soooo good! It came with salsa and sour cream but neither was needed as there was so much flavor with the chorizo! I also had the city grits- they are loaded with scallions and bacon and have Gouda cheese mixed in!!! They honestly were over the top!! Another member of the party ordered the cinnamon bun French toast!!! It was sooooo good!! Coffee is very nice- not your typical diner coffee! But I think the worst part were the drinks.. definitely not worth $9.50. Both, mine and my wife's drink were way too strong. I mean Jon Taffer probably would have been yelling at the bartender for how much alcohol was in these drinks. On a little more positive note they were kind enough to take the drinks off of our bill. I would have given a 5-star review but we did not appreciate the tip being included in our meal total. I understand the rationale for this, but we firmly believe in recognizing good service with a 15-20% tip but did not like that automatically added to the bill. I also could have done without the owner's visit. He was very nice, but I found him to bit a bit pushy with the loyalty cards and how to avoid a wait.
