there's definitely some love in that cooking. much better than I expected it to be. the hollandaise was a lil too buttery, but that's really my only negative. the potatoes were great and I doused them in the pepper sauce, wowza is that good. Service at this restaurant is really bad. Waited 15 minutes after being seated. Never got waited on. Got up and left. Nothing worse than being ignored by wait staff at a restaurant when trying to get someone to eat. It's rude and they did not care. read more

Based on the overall rating of this place, I expected a lot less. But I was blown away! The service, the food, the speed, the atmosphere, it was all so so pleasant. First of all, we were seated by a kind hostess right away, and our server came shortly after. He was on point- got everything right and was friendly without intruding on our conversation (which is always a bonus). I got the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes and WOW. The flavors! It really was unique and delicious. The strange savory-tanginess of the cheese went so well with the sweetness of the pancakes. I ate almost every bite (and it's a huge serving). That's the thing, the portions were a really good size! The atmosphere was fun and inviting, and really buzzing around brunch time. They seem to have some great business, and they deserve it. We also got some beignets to go (because who can pass those up when you see them on a menu). Those were SO GOOD. They were a little heavier and more cakey than an authentic NOLA beignet, but the flavor and the dipping sauce were to die for. I wanted to eat them all. I can't wait to come back here already! read more

Went for Sunday Brunch. There was a pretty long wait but we used the waitlist on Yelp to get ahead. By the time we got there, we only had to wait about 15 minutes. Husband had breakfast food and I had lunch. I am eating low carb so my options are not as extensive. Husband had pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon. I had a salad with a few substitutions. The kitchen didn't get it right the first or second time but eventually we did. After I got my salad situated, it was really good. I had coffee too. First cup was weak but my refresher was a better cup of coffee. It was enjoyable. Advice....if you are going Sunday after church, definitely get on the waitlist. read more

Grits were cold and lumpy. Tasted very out-of-the-box just add water. The waitress was kind enough to microwave them for me. Husband didn't like at all and since his options are limited to soft, ground up foods, this was all he could have. I had the apple chicken sausage links, they were pretty good. I also had a English muffin. I asked for it extra toasted and it came of perfect My kid ordered the pound cake French toast, eggs and bacon. I thought it looked good and while I didn't taste it at the restaurant the leftovers that made it home were delicious. The Rawanda coffee was okay. read more

I've Been to this location before when they first opened and I absolutely loved it I had their Hawaiian French toast and homemade sausage. I visited this location the other day for my sisters birthday early morning. I came to find out the menu had changed slightly. I ordered the french toast and homage sausage assuming that I would be just as I remembered. No. My server came out with a waffle at first and said I ordered it but some how my sister also heard me mention a french toast.. She quickly came out with the French toast so no biggy . The sausage was extremely salty to the point I couldn't eat more than half, and I had two sausages.. My sister enjoyed her birthday meal so that's all that mattered.. I could've been under the influence of herbs on my first visit because the food tasted amazing!! Lol sadly I will make the trip to Waffle House next time. read more

Was excited to try this place. The food choices sounded and looked great. Many very interesting choices made it hard to choose. Unfortunately it took an extended time for any one to show up at our table. This was a weekday before noon and only half the tables were in use. I could see wait staff talking together at the bar and at the hostess' desk, but no one really seemed interested in taking our order. At some point you start thinking that I need to stand up and ask to be served. But we waited. Eventually someone did, apologizing for the delay. A disappointing start, but we were understanding. I tried the Mahi Benedict with beignets, the wife chose the cinnamon roll French toast. Both sounded awesome. Again, the wait to get our food was a bit long, but when we got the food my wife noticed there was no cream cheese topping as expected. However, the waitress never returned to see how we were doing. So she ate half of it, as-is. When I eventually caught the server's eye to bring us the check and a to-go box, we asked about the missing cream cheese frosting. We were told that they were out. But that they are making some now and she will put it in the to-go box. Now, why didn't she tell us that to begin with? Give us an option to stay with that choice or do something else? (I don't know about you, but a cinnamon roll isn't a cinnamon roll without the cream cheese frosting). The answer is because, obviously, customer service is not the priority here. The mahi benedict itself was good, the andouille cream sauce on it was the highlight. The country potato's were bland and over-cooked. Beignets were passable. There were quite a number of dishes I was excited about trying on another visit, but after this experience we won't be back. That's too bad. We had high hopes for this restaurant. read more

First-timer and i was sooooo impressed with every facet of customer service and food quality (yelpers....it takes ALOT to impress this foodie to the point of straight up praise!) RESERVATION: Lemme start by saying, I came to eat on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30p. They were on a 32-50 min wait (per Yelp) so I waitlist. The wait was not 32 min and I was sat in like 20 min. SERVICE: Jessi was super sweet, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She is the factor that altered my experience there from good to "I will come back here to have her as my server again." FOOD: Ordered the crabcakes and fried green tomatoes. Added 2 poached eggs (side of hollandaise) and 1 lemon blueberry goat chz pancake (my deconstructed, makeshift Hungry Man Benedict-style bfast). We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in true southern hospitality served by LeeAnthony. He was an excellent waiter and we highly highly recommend this restaurant. I enjoyed the Mardi Gras omelette which is loaded with shrimp and crawfish and andouille sausage with grits. My wife enjoyed the chicken and waffles and a generous side of fresh fruit. The coffee was excellent, the service was wonderful, the atmosphere was superb. Can't wait to return. read more

Went here for brunch with my kid as she had never been. The wait time wasn't too bad as it was understood that we were there at a busy time of the day. I went for the chicken and waffles this time although this is not my usual choice for this place. As with any other thing on the menu, I was not disappointed. The service was great as usual. Parking wasn't bad either as there were plenty of parking. I'm a fan of how their coffee mugs look so I always order tea. Definitely recommend eating here for a great brunch experience. read more

Ok, this place is my new favorite breakfast/brunch spot! We did have to wait 40 mins for a table on a Friday 11-11:40 but it was worth it! Next time we'll have lunch/brunch at 12:30 when half the tables are empty. We had six picky "foodies" and we all LOVED IT! The lemon blueberry mimosa was fab, and I had the lobster omelette with a side of lemon blueberry pancake. I added bacon and cheese to the potatoes on my side - wow! So good! My friend let me try her fried green tomatoes and crab cakes - amazing. We'll be back! I hear that weekends are a ridiculous wait though, so I hope they expand to Germantown or Collierville soon! read more

A group of friends visited here on a Saturday morning and were promptly seated. I was impressed by the menu that had such a wide selection. I selected the lobster & Brie omelette as a way to treat myself. The huge drawback and complaint by everyone at my table was that the coffee temperature was tepid to cold. Even with a refill. Very strange for the morning. I enjoyed my omelette. It was so cheesy and filled with good bits of lobster. A hater friend said it smelled fishy. Whatever. Just keep that in mind if you have finicky friends. She ordered the chicken and waffles and liked it. Based off all of their selections, I want to return. I just hope they heat up the coffee. read more

Google review UPDATE Oct 19 2023 - no word from the local operator/GM or response from my two follow-up emails to Moe Mokbel who initially offered the meal vouchers. I don't want free food I want an apology from the local operator or GM from this restaurant. UPDATE Oct 16 2023 - received an email from corporate office apologizing and vouchers for two meals. Greatly appreciated but I declined since I am not local to the Jacksonville area. Express that this review needs to be shared with local operators/GM of this restaurant. I would be happy if the actual GM of this particular restaurant made a public apology on this review. UPDATE Oct 14 2023 - I have emailed the corporate office twice via the contact us link and no reply. And yet newer review on Google has received feedback. Guess this restaurant can't take the truth. Original review - Oct 6 The statement on their website "Proud to be voted one of the best restaurants in Jacksonville (2022)" is laughable after our experience today. Walk in on a Friday Oct 6 around 930. Wasn't full but it was busy. We were immediately seated at table by the hostess that seated six which was odd since we were a party of two. Our hostess after sitting us didn't say anything of who would be waiting on us. The table was next to waitress/waiter station so the staff were constantly going by us. Five minutes pass - no word of "we will be with you shortly" or asked if we wanted coffee. By this time, we had decided what we wanted to order so I put our menus aside a sign that we were ready. More staff stops at the waitress/waiter station but doesn't turn around to ask us if we had been helped. Now it's been ten minutes since coming in and I observe a group of three ladies get seated at table for four next to us. Within a minute a waitress coming out of the kitchen says to them "I will be right with you". We had enough and left utterly disappointed. Hopes whoever was managing the wait staff Friday Oct 6 sees this and properly teaches their team to acknowledge all customers. A simple acknowledgement of "I will be right with you" goes a long way. read more

I wanted Saturday brunch , so I went to Another Broken Egg . I ordered the spinach scrambler with no onions, with a side of fruit and English muffin. It was excellent ! I also ordered a grand mimosa, but it was too sweet , even after an extra dose of dry champagne. Great location and friendly staff . Cons- it's very crowded and comes with long wait times . However , bar dining is pretty quick . Princess was my bartender /server . She gets 4 stars - she was very attentive and friendly . read more

Don't ever plan on coming back. The 1/2 order of beignets was just hard clumpy balls. They ran out of gravy for the biscuits and gravy and they asked me if I still wanted it right before they brought the food out. I said no and the waitress rolled her eyes when I said I no longer wanted it. No whip cream on the hot chocolate and just overall bad service. read more

Excellent food and service. Long wait (New Years Day) but absolutely worth it! Everyone was so courteous, made great suggestions and was apologetic about the wait. I had crab cake bene and a lemon ricotta pancake plus black cherry mimosa. My date had country fried steak bene and beignets. First off I'm new to the area and did not realize that on Sundays you can not purchase alcohol until 10am! Luckily we sat down around 930, so it wasn't too much of a wait..but that definitely makes sense when we saw there wasn't a wait earlier in the morning. ha now we know! If you look at the menu you will definitely find something you'd like. There are sooo many options and too many that sounded so good. It was very difficult to choose! We first ordered biscuit beignets for starters, which came out pretty quickly. Hot, fresh, and the dipping sauce was delicious! Almost like a apple honey thing? Really tasty! I then ordered a spiked salted carmel cold brew, and Huevos Racneros. While my friend ordered a strawberry mimosa, and a crab cake benedict. We were both a little concerned with the drinks being pretty pricy, if it only tasted like coffee or starwberry juice, but I gotta say we both thought our drinks were delicious and you could definitely taste the alcohol..but in a good way. It wasn't over powering, so we felt a little better about the price. My Huevos Racneros was tasty, it had a good amount of cheese, with what almost seemed like homemade chips? They were a good soft and hard texture. It also came with salsa and sour cream on the side. My friend said her crab cake benedict was really good and she would get it again. She said she could taste the crab, the egg was cooked perfect, and it was very filling! Overall this place is a bit pricy but we had a great experience and will definitely be back! read more

The wait time to get in is long, we were on the list and it was supposed to be 45 min to an hour wait and it ended up being 2 and a half. Needless to say the food was good and so was the drink. I had the strawberry lemonade and let me tell you our server was right it was really good. The crab cakes and fried green tomatoes very good. read more

The waitlist process was quick and easy. That was about the best part of the experience. I ordered the hot chocolate to drink and got it maybe a minute before the food (which took 30 min) my fiancé never received a refill of coffee until after the food came and I had to ask a food runner for it. She asked for her food to come with no nuts or whipped cream (not the servers fault she showed us the ticket, it was rang in properly) it was covered. I ordered gluten free pancakes but after about half I started feeling off and given all the other kitchen mishaps I didn't feel comfortable eating the rest of my pancakes. We were so excited for our first ever trip to another broken egg, but I can't say I'll be back. Update: An hour later and I'm now stuck in the bathroom and taking Benadryl read more

I traveled a distance for their chicken and waffle. I was disappointed with my visit. The waffle was rubbery, the mocktails left much to desire and the service was extremely slow. I have no desire to visit this place anytime soon. We were sat at a booth as soon as we walked in the door, however, the server was 30 minutes approaching the table. Amazing food and never disappoints. Today I'm trying the pound cake French toast with strawberries and In house made whipped cream. It also come with scrambled eggs and bacon. You have other choices of meat and how you want your eggs of course. After eating two pieces I'm so full. It's so so good. It doesn't come with many strawberries as you can see but it doesn't need much. One of my favorite places to eat is here. read more

I must say that their food is pretty good but they really price themselves a little high. The pit door seating is a year round deal which is prett cool but very creative. The menu tries to be a little hipster, maybe to justify the prices but I think they could do better with variety and portions. read more

The wait was almost 2 hours and when I was first on wait list apparently my name dropped off the list so I went and checked with the front desk and due to some technical issues they dropped my name and this was after the two hour wait so had to wait another half an hour. So I don't know I was already in a pretty bad mood so I didn't enjoy my food at all. Ordered three cheese veggie omelet. Nothing out of the box or maybe I was expecting a little too much!! Sat down and waited over 10mins before anyone talked to us. I finally questioned it and the server (and her trainee) that we did end up with were awesome and bent over backwards even brought us a free order of Beignet's as an apology. Smaller than normal but very good, warm and plenty of powder sugar. Average coffee, very small cup. Bloody Mary was average flavor and fair sized. Princess had one very plain Belgian waffle, large and soft. The eggs Benedict was one of the worst ever. The ham and english muffin were good, large soft, hot. The eggs were not poached but hard boiled, and the hollandaise sauce was more like gravy, thick, zero egg or lemon taste at all. Side of potatoes were frozen or reheated, over cooked hard and bland. Everything was hot and presented well, but not even average flavor. After a small snafu, the service was the highlight, the food was poor for the prices. Decent sized place, and 8am Saturday was busy but we can't explain why. read more

Avocado toast doesn't need much--fresh avocado, a squeeze of lemon or lime, cracked pepper, sea salt, roasted tomatoes, cilantro, and a little love. Unfortunately, mine arrived with chunky raw onions, a few tomatoes, and not much else. The bright flavors that make avocado toast shine were missing. The sourdough bread, however, was perfectly toasted and had a great texture. Eggs Both dishes were ordered with eggs cooked over hard. Both arrived over easy. That's a simple request that should have been easy to execute. Salmon Benedict Presentation was nice, but the seasoning department apparently took the morning off. Salmon naturally has great flavor, but it still needs something. A squeeze of lemon, a touch of cracked pepper, sea salt, fresh herbs--anything. A few simple additions--lemon, pepper, salt, herbs, and attention to cooking eggs correctly--would have dramatically improved the experience. Will I return? Yes. The drinks were excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, and there's enough on the menu to give it another chance. Next visit, I'll be ordering something different and hoping the kitchen brings a little more flavor to the table.

It turned my stomach when I realized that I had been drinking from a straw with my water and I'm sure there had been flies on it before I got there. Every person that gets a straw in their drink at this restaurant has had a fly sitting on top of it. When the bartender told me about the desserts, it turned my stomach to think of just how many flies were in the kitchen. Had I known the fly situation was that bad when I first got my drink, I would have never stayed there, and I certainly would have never ordered food. I do think it is a real shame because the winter months are a totally different experience in that restaurant. But because of how horrible it was this time, I just can't ever come back.

As for the food, I could have easily ordered a second helping of the Cajun Abita shrimp appetizer and called it dinner. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was outstanding. The accompanying beer bread was equally delicious...slightly reminiscent of cornbread but with its own unique flavor. My sister and I weren't huge fans of the She Crab Soup. It was simply too rich and creamy for our tastes. One bite was enough for us although my dad seemed to enjoy it. The Blue Window Wedge Salad is their take on a classic wedge which was spectacular. It will be hard to find another wedge salad that measures up. The sweet potato pecan casserole was good but it felt like it was missing something that we couldn't quite put our finger on what. The maple bacon Brussels sprouts were a table favorite...perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. My dad and sister both enjoyed the braised beef, which was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. To finish, we shared the white chocolate bread pudding and it was absolutely delicious. In fact, the table next to us seemed to enjoy theirs just as much. Overall, this was a wonderful dining experience with great service, a memorable atmosphere, excellent cocktails and standout dishes. I'd happily return the next time I'm headed downtown.

We ate here with our 8.5 mo daughter after a recent stay at Lebonheur and we're highly pleased. We are from out of town and asked our waiter, Parker, for multiple recommendations all of which he gave without hesitation and enthusiastically. You could tell her had tasted and enjoyed the food there and was excited about us trying some of his favorites. The chocolate stuffed pancakes, the Benedict burger and city grits did NOT disappoint! Just finished another great breakfast at this restaurant. The usually good food was made even better with the over the top great service by our waitress Ms Jessie. I've been here three times now since it reopened. It would be more, but here we go... They have daily lunch meat and threes that rotate by day of the week. I always check the website to see what's being offered before I go to places like this so I can see if they have something I want. I really dig these kind of lunches, I seek them out when I want a "solo decompress, don't talk to me lunch", so I want to like this place so much. I quit going to Bain's a year or more ago because of never knowing what they are selling. The menu is never updated on the site, or even there at all now. Every time you walk in it's a surprise! I just checked again to verify, and yep, still no menu, only online order, but 60-70% of it is "out of stock". Ugh. When they do have the menu posted, it's normally wrong. This seems to be a trend between the two places now. The first time I was here I was underwhelmed. Country Fried Steak tasted funny and I had the worst cornbread I had ever had. Not even sure how it was made that terribly. I do hope they fixed it. Second visit and this time the printed menu didn't match the website, but they had the websites menu available, strange.
