Met a friend for breakfast New Year's Day. Crowded at 11:00 am but we only waited for 20 minutes. Ordered my standard which is potato pancakes with turkey sausage links. I scored since it was on the 55 plus menu. The pancakes were tasty with the sour cream and applesauce. I forgot how good the potato pancakes were at Perkins. My friend ordered the tremendous 12 and had to take a large portion home since it was so much food. Our server was excellent. He was very attentive and brought us coffee when we needed a refill. He was super nice and friendly. He did not rush us and let us know if we could stay longer if we needed to. Place was busy, clean and well organized. The bakery case was filled with a lot of yummy goodness. I will return for more breakfast entrees. read more

It's seems that customer service and great care has fallen over the cliff the past few years, and therefore I am saying that this Perkins Location should be the role model and teaching establishment on how to do customer service right! From walking in, with the manager holding the door open and treating us with a smile, the hostess, who was sweeping, immediately greeted us and walked to the hostess counter to get menus. She asked if we prefer a table or a booth, sat us at a cozy North near the back, and said our server will be with us shortly. Our server was just as pleasant and friendly. (You can tell when people like where they work by how they treat their customers) our food was delivered in good time, fresh and hot, with attentive check-ins from our server. The manager even stopped by to see how our experience was going thus far. The entire restaurant was very clean. As we were leaving, the hostess was dusting the railing that divides the front entrance to the dining area. We were thanked for coming in. I frequent this location often. This location is by far my fav and the best! They people that work here are always nice, friendly, and upbeat. Let me tell you about the food. They food is always hot and fresh. Shout out to the cooks here because the always on point. If you like biscuits try them grilled. This is the only location that I know of in Memphis that grill the biscuits if you ask. Shout out to Boosie who recommend me to try them grilled and I have been doing it every since. Everything here has been good for the most part. I love their chocolate chip cookies and if you like pumpkin try they pumpkin mammoth muffins (seasonal). I will continue to come back here. Me and my dad have been coming here on Saturdays. Saturdays definitely feels like "the regulars" kind of day, but without feeling alienated. The restaurant is clean and there are several windows for good lighting, and the restrooms are also clean. The menu accommodates multiple dietary preferences, and also has a menu for seniors 55+. Pricing is reasonable and portions are good, so you can have a nice breakfast without breaking the bank. Surprisingly, the wait is never long. The staff is friendly and the service efficient, and I like that the manager exudes that same friendliness. He is very involved with his staff, checking in to see what's needed, and getting to know his customers. Perkins accepts both cash and card. The restaurant was pretty full as it was a weekday lunch, but we were seated within minutes, and the service was very good. We had a waitress who was one of those who could remember your order without writing anything down. I'm always impressed with that. It's just a Perkins so forget about ambience. Been to this location many times, for both breakfast and dinner, and it's pretty consistently good. Food is hot, reasonably priced, and cooked to order. Service is great. Very efficient. One of my biggest pet peeves when dining out is servers not coming back around to check on their tables to see if anything is needed or if everything is ok -- but that is never a problem here! I always feel like I'm taken care of, and we generally tip above and beyond for that. The wait staff is friendly and the general manager is also very nice and polite. My companion and I found the service to be subpar, and had to request refills of our drinks every. single. time. Both of our meals were overcooked. The steak on my steak and pepper skillet meal was somewhat charred. Definitely not cooked medium, as per the initial query from the server when he took my order. My companion's croissant breakfast was also browned almost to the point of blackness, but not quite. Next time, instead of this particular Perkins, it will be The Half Shell. read more

I went to Perkins for a late breakfast during a weekday and had a great experience. My husband and I were greeted promptly upon entry and our server came by right away. I was pleased by the options to add muffins to meals and later partook. I selected the California Avocado Benedict, which came with hash browns and fruit. It was so very filling, since I actually had been fasting. The eggs were cooked just right and there was the perfect portion of avocado and béarnaise sauce. The hash was cooked just right and not greasy. Also the meal was served with the right amount of fruit. I got a mammoth apple pie muffin to go. It made for a great snack later. Seated at an oddly located table floating in one arm of the dining area, the full bustle of the doorway and hustle of our friendly waitress was apparent. That being said, breakfast: who doesn't love it?! It's pretty hard to mess up eggs, bacon (though I ordered sausages!), and waffles, which were all great. A friend and I visited the Germantown location on July 13 2023, mid morning. As busy as this restaurant was , we were quickly taken to our table by a cheerful person.
