My husband ordered a cake here for my birthday. He specifically ordered everything to not include or be done with any sort of buttercream because on top of buttercream making me very sick, it also does not agree with my body and then I have numerous days of torture ahead. The cake was decorated decently, however, the inside of the cake layers is buttercream. I found this out after I already took a generous bite and I have been struggling with my stomach since then. The cream cheese icing used was almost unbearably sweet, so unfortunately, a good portion of the cake slices were thrown away and the remainder of the cake will have to be disposed of. I worked in an Italian bakery in NYC for a few years and have never tasted an icing that was THIS sweet. On top of everything else, the cake was supposed to be lemon flavored. I'm assuming they "baste" their cakes either a lemon flavoring because the only area that had any lemon flavoring was the immediately part touching the buttercream that I threw away after the first bite. Overall, I am beyond thankful that my husband wanted to gift me a beautiful and delicious cake, even remembering that I have intolerances to buttercream and my love for lemons, unfortunately, Miss Muff'n did not deliver a good product. The strawberry cake is a large 3 layer cake with a strawberry jam and icing on the inside layers. Their cakes taste like your grandmother made each and every one with love. Delicious and perfectly made! They do custom cakes, wedding cakes, cookies, cake balls, etc. Once entering the small store, you will see a display of bakery sweets that you can buy. This place is not an easy find if you're not familiar with the area. It is literally tucked away in an office complex in Germantown. I can't say I love this bakery, every year my sister orders strawberry cakes for her kids bday parties. The cakes are pretty and decorated just as nice. The cake part is hit or miss, we have had some dry cakes, moist cakes, and some not so fresh "kids don't eat this cake" cake from here. If there was an error my sister would call and sort it out, but I personally don't get all in the feels for the bakery. Staff is friendly and they have regular cakes you can purchase. I've had the chocolate cake for my bday, my sister decided to surprise me with a cake from her favorite bakery and well I'd rather have a boxed cake. It was beautifully done with a waving cat and it looked perfect to how I described it. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was Bc during my ordering I mentioned a birthday cake so I thought there would be a happy birthday written on it and it didn't hit me till days later that I realized they never asked me for a name or age. I tried to call back to add it but it was too late. They did try to fit on a little tag on the side and also, the cost is a little high but the cake tasted good and look nice. tucked away in the Germantown Rd/Poplar Ave area, this place was actually pretty good since a few friends had recommended me to try it. I wanted a special cake but we had to order it at least 3 days to a week in advance and i only had a day to spare. So i settled for their Chocolate Praline cake as a last min resort thats offered Daily with their Strawberry cake as well. It was delicious and everyone at our event had agreed the same. She made the cake in 4 days and her quoted price was reasonable compared to the other bake shop I went to which wanted the reservations made weeks in advanced and quoted a price that was double the amount she charged. My sister got me the "old fashioned chocolate cake" for my birthday. I am a chocolate addict and it was this perfect small cake just enough for our family of four! It was delicious! I'm not a fan of overly sweet cakes, I like decadent and moist. This cake was sooo that. I had trouble not reaching for a second piece. I should have because it was all gone before I could go back for seconds. The cake was a gorgeous sight too, I felt bad for cutting into it. Will definitely be trying the cookies next here! My fiance and I went to Miss Muff'n in the hopes of getting more details for two cakes, ordering one for that upcoming week. One for a birthday in the upcoming week and the other cake would be our wedding cake for April/May. When we walked in, we were asked if we were the appointment that she was waiting on. We told her no and why we came in that day. She had us sit down with a couple of photo albums of cakes and went back to working on her computer in the lobby. Not until her appointment came in did she check-in with us again. More time passed and two other people came in for differing reasons. One of the other patrons came in for a birthday cake and the clerk/owner (?) came over to the photo album I was looking in and told me she needed to see it and grabbed it away from me. No excuse me or check-in to see how we were doing or if we had any questions. When she finally found time to attend to us, we told her what we were interested in and when we would need it by. We also told her that we were interested in a cake tasting for our wedding cake. We requested something for the next day, if available, and she sighed and hastily went to the appointment book, but not without first saying, "Already? Your wedding is not until April!". All in all, we felt more like a bother to this lady than a valued customer. She lost sales on two cakes and earned herself a bad recommendation based on very poor customer service alone. "Pretty" cakes are hard to find in Memphis, but I would search far and wide rather than going back to THIS place! If that's how they react BEFORE the sale, imagine what things are like AFTER the sale! read more

Extremely rude! I went into the bakery asking for a cake for my son's birthday. I asked what types of cakes they had and the lady working grabbed a book of photos, threw it onto the table, and walked away without saying a word. The lady then stated "well you know that's going to be expensive." I responded stating I was aware that it was going to be fairly pricey, and she said "125 dollars to be exact." She seemed annoyed that I was even asking for a cake to be made. She snapped and told me I was going to need to make up my mind before 7pm if I wanted a cake at all. My husband and I just walked out. The two times I have been in there the staff appeared annoyed and rude. However, we went to the Frost Bake Shop and were delighted with their eagerness to help. They were friendly and had lots of adorable cake options. They are located off poplar and definitely worth checking out! To Mrs. Lieu, I am not familiar with your policies or procedures nor do I care. I also don't appreciate your insinuation that I am lying. I was merely just repeating what your staff had told me. I have been loyal to this bakery, purchasing birthday cakes for my children for the past three years--despite the fact the the bakery workers and owner were fairly arrogant and snotty. They do make beautiful cakes--that are quite pricey. My daughter had her thirteenth birthday today and I ordered a cake two days ago. The cake I picked up today was chocolate not butter cream. When I pointed this out, I got "oh, well. We don't have time to change it..." No offer to give me a refund. No offer to take $5 dollars off. Not even an I'm sorry. . . . While I haven't actually gotten the cake yet (the wedding is in December), I wanted to write a review because of how pleased I was with the service. I started emailing them a couple of months ago about a cake consultation and we made the appointment. The appointment had to be rescheduled because the person in charge of wedding consultations was sick, but it was no big deal. We went on a Saturday, and were met with genuinely friendly people. They give you sheets of paper with what flavors they have and some information that's important, and she literally answered every single question that I would ever have before I could even ask! Not only was she really informative, but she was so genuinely sweet. She got an idea of what we wanted and very quickly quoted us a price for the grooms and brides cake, and of course we were able to taste the cakes. They were moist, and the flavors were to die for. I usually detest lemon flavored things, but their lemon cake was great, and so were the other flavors (strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and yellow cake). The fillings were delicious, and she told me that if there was a flavor I wanted to try that was on the list but not included, I could come back and try it another time. I told her I was really interested in trying the coconut creme, and I figured she would give me a time to come back, but she just let us try some right then and there. It was delicious! Overall, after this experience of delicious cakes and perfect customer service, we cannot wait to get our cakes. We will be updating the review afterwards. read more
