Another Broken Egg is a chain restaurant, so I am giving it a 4 when it would get a 3 if it were a locally owned spot. It is a GOOD chain restaurant, with an extensive breakfast menu, including brunch items like shrimp & grits and mimosas. The menu reads more eloquently than the food appears when you receive it. Recently I've had touch and go service, but some excellent chilaquiles with eggs from the holiday menu. Try the city grits, with bacon, green onion, and tomato. read more

( 9.25.22 at approx. 1 pm) It was so chaotic and unusually unorganized on this date however, this young lady had the patience and calmness as if nothing was going on around her. The food quality has greatly deteriorated since my last visit 6 months ago. From food prep to presentation, it probably didn't deserve the 2 stars I rated it. I was part of a group of 6 and all 6 dishes were far below the expected quality. It may be a function of untrained cooks but I cannot excuse it. Food tastiness and overall quality must be the priority. I strongly suggest this store at Highland near Poplar hires a professional head cook to train and oversee what is coming out of the back of the house. read more

Breakfast is always fantastic. Love the environment, the quality of service and definitely as good as it gets in Shelby county.

Have to say I wasn't sure what to expect from this restaurant but after walking in through the door it was clear that this was the place to be. A friendly smile at the door goes a long way and it was busy busy busy. The 20 minute wait flew by and once inside have gone to the patio area which was warm and clean. The waitress was friendly and topped up the coffee in what I think is an amazing Broken Egg Cafe cup - well it doesn't take much to keep this English man visiting America happy and cheerful. The coffee was hot and great ( I do love a good coffee) The omelette was amazing - hot and so tasty have to say this was the best one ever and would recommend this is tried any of them on the menu. So I placed an online order and when I arrived I sat at the bar for literally 10 minutes waiting on someone to retrieve my order and when I looked at my order it came in kids size portions and was cold ... We spotted in on a whim and was told that the line out the door would have us waiting for 15-20 minutes. They took our number and we were informed that we'd receive a text when our table was ready. With that convince we were able to walk around the area without worrying that we wouldn't hear our name called. We were please when we received a text that our table was ready within a 5-10 minute window. :) Are waitress was friendly without being fake. She was knowledgeable of the menu and helpful when we mentioned that we were on a low-carb diet. We were about to exchange out the higher carb items of breads, grits, potatoes, etc for a side bacon (which my picky bacon eating boyfriend said was cooked to perfection). She was even helpful by offering coconut milk when I mentioned that I couldn't have dairy. We each opted for an omelette. My Floridian omelette was wonderful! My gent tried it and said it was a little too seafoody for his taste but as a Floridian I thought it was heaven. He ordered the bacon themed omelette but I'm now wondering if that's what he received since the meat that came on top of his meal wasn't actually bacon but seemed to be a sausage of some kind. EXCELLENT food and SUPERB customer service! I made the mistake of going to the Highland location and the greeter rudely asked, "You gone wait 2 and a half hours?" I thought restaurants were glad to see customers willing to wait during a pandemic. We left and went to my preferred location, where I also recognize the employees and service was faster. I've never eaten anything bad at Another Broken Egg. So far I've tried their smoked salmon Benedict, Mardi Gras omelette, Bacquezo omelette, the B.L.A.S.T., and the beignets. I also had the Floridian omelette. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't as good as everything else I've had there. Every time I go, I drink way too much coffee because it's so good (and the cups are adorable so that's a plus!). I recently started trying their mimosas and kicked off those efforts with the blueberry lemon. Oh. My. Gosh. It was amazing. I can't wait to try all of the other flavors. Be careful of wait times, especially on the weekends. I've waited over an hour on a Sunday afternoon. read more

My husband and I went here after searching for the top places to eat for breakfast. We went there with high hopes. The waiter was really nice, he was hard-working and polite. The food took a very long time to get to us. The entire order was wrong. The food tasted horrible with no flavor at all. The poor waiter was apologizing that the cooks were getting the orders all wrong. We weren't the only people having the problem, other people were complaining and walking out. The manager was walking around having to apologize to everyone. We won't be coming back here again. Awful food, great service. read more

Waffle was soft and soggy like a wet paper towel. French toast only had egg on one half of one piece. They forgot the cheese on my girls eggs. The lid on her chocolate milk fell right off when she took her 1st drink. The host staff barely spoke and acted as if we were bothering them when approached. Over all id say avoid this place. You'd have a more pleasant experience cookin eggs on a rock in the valley of death. P.S. the highland and poplar location is even worse. We wont be eating at either place ever again. I am in love with this brunch spot! We've been a few times now as part of our weekend routine and each time we have been so pleased with our choices. Don't pass up getting the breakfast potatoes topped with avocado, bacon and cheese! The mimosa pitchers can't be beat - lemon blueberry is our favorite hands down. One of the best places I've gone for brunch here in Memphis. I was joined with friends on Sunday. I heard about this place but never been. There was a bit of a wait upon arrival but it was WELL worth it! The service was top notch and the food was really good! We started the meal with the beignets! They were AMAZING and probably my favorite part of the meal outside of the grits! They came with a peach glaze but I liked them without. For my meal I had the Veggie omelette which was okay but what really blew my mind were the grits!!! I substituted my fruit for the grits and it was worth EVERY carb!!! Highly recommend trying the grits! They come with bacon in them. Not sure what types of cheeses were used but they were really good! For drinks I had the tropical sangria! This was right next to our hotel and sounded much better than hotel breakfast! It was Thursday morning around 10 AM on July 4th and they were busy, but we were sat right away. John was our server and he was tremendous in taking care of us and offering suggestions on his favorites. I had the dark roast coffee which was perfect. We tried a 1/2 order of the biscuit beignets which came with an orange marmalade. The beignets were good by themselves (but not Cafe Du Monde good) but I was not a fan of the marmalade that came with them. I ordered the Mardi Gras Omlette due to its ingredients I typically wouldn't think to put in an omlette, plus my love of cajun and seafood. It was delicious and an excellent recommendation from John. We also got the Shrimp 'N Grits with smoked gouda cheese. Generally, I'm not a huge fan of grits, however I could've eaten these all day long. Also, their own Pepper Sauce added to my omlette.
