First time at this homey turkish spot. the ambiance was lovely and the mezze was delicious. the bread was fresh and we even got a free refill after finishing it. looking forward to trying more dishes next time, cheers!

Came and tried a bunch of their dishes. Meze combo, sultani, manti, and chicken brochette were all good, but the star for me was the lahmacun, which I haven't had since Istanbul. With the herbs and the lemon, it was such a lovely bright and savory contrast of textures. The shalgam though was decidedly not our jam - salty earthy pickle brine-y, served room temp. No thank you. The kunefe was also a bit of a letdown - quite small, not very cheesy or crispy. Should have stopped at the apps and mains. We were able to walk in and snag a table for 4 easily at 6:30pm on a Friday, but it definitely filled up shortly after. Space inside was cute and the sidewalk dining still a vibe on a busy strip of Valencia. Very friendly service.

Amazing Turkish cuisine! My partner and I spontaneously sat here for a weekend meal and were pleasantly blown away by the food and service. What we ordered: + Meze Combo [5/5]: A bit overpriced for the portion but the diversity of spreads and dips was worth it IMO. The hummus and ezme were very classically flavored. The dolma, borek, tzatziki, and falafel were out of this world!! The combo comes with multiple slices of bread. + Lahmacun [6/5 - would recommend]: SOOO WORTH. The portion size, flavor, and texture of this is amazing! The veggies and herbs are incredibly fresh. This is my favorite and I would 100% order this again. + Beyti [5/5]: Very impressive dish. The beef/lamb meat in this is pretty tender and a thick cut. The tomatoes add a nice sweetness throughout the dish, and the cheese is super fluffy and light pairing. Yummy! Thanks very much to the service who went above-and-beyond to chase us down a block when I realized I forgot my phone on the table. Anatolian Table is a beautiful restaurant to do some people-watching on Valencia with great Turkish dishes!

I've been wanting to try this place! I finally made it out to dinner and it was great. They serve Turkish food in a cute restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They don't take reservations but have a paper waitlist at the door. I came on a Saturday at 6pm with a party of 5 and was seated within 5-10min. We ordered the mezze combo, octapodaki, horiakti salad, the lahmacun, and manti! Everything was amazing, we were so stuffed by the end of the meal. The mezze came with a fresh flatbread that went well with the dips. The octapodaki was cooked and seasoned well. It was my first time having lahmacun and it was great with the onions and parsley. We enjoyed the manti as well. Will definitely come back for the great food and service!

Been eyeing this place every time I walk by before finally trying this place with some friends. Everything we tried was delicious -- the lahmacun, the manti, and this other dish with calamari in it (I forget the name). My personal favorite was the manti, so tasty with the mix of yogurt and tomato sauce. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the neighborhood!

Great local spot! The restaurant is so cute and inviting with all of the lights and plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. It wasn't too busy on a Sunday night, but I've seen it packed on a Friday and Saturday and during lunchtimes as well so there may be a wait. Service is excellent with attention to detail. The staff explains all of the food and constantly checks to see how you're doing and if you need anything. The food is solid - I highly recommend the appetizer platter so you can try everything. There are a lot of options of flatbread so they're good to try. The moussaka has a perfect ratio of vegetables to layers with good flavor. I do think the portions are a bit small to justify the prices.

What a great surprise! This place was great and the food is delicious. We went as a group of 3 for the first time this week. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is vibrant. They have a very large selection of food and everything was delicious. I highly recommend the appetizer plate. Their flatbreads were our favorite!

A delicious brunch experience in a beautiful setting. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was pretty empty. There's a lot of seating both inside and outside. The outside tables had heaters for colder weather. My party of five was immediately seated inside, and the interior had plenty of natural light and wall art. The service was speedy and efficient. Since we visited during lunchtime, we could only order from the brunch menu, which was much smaller than the dinner menu but still had delicious options. Most of the dishes here really impressed me. The lahmacun was insanely good, a flatbread topped with minced meat. The warm and savory meat on bread paired well with refreshing toppings, like tomatoes and onions. The lamb casserole was also delicious - the meat was seasoned and cooked incredibly. The sauce from the casserole was amazingly savory - I dipped the free bread provided into the sauce, and it made for the perfect bite. For dessert, the katmer was utter perfection. The dish features a very thin phyllo dough accompanied by plenty of fruit and creamy, sweet kaymak. It was both fresh and rich. The presentation was also stunning. While most dishes were a hit, I was actually shocked by the horiatiki, a $15 salad. This $15 salad was ridiculously small and was probably made using a single tomato and a single cucumber. There were literally fewer than five pieces of feta cheese in this $15 salad - each person in my five person party ate half a cube of feta cheese. I truly don't think anything about this tiny dish would justify a $15 price point. I think there were probably five bites total to this salad. Other than the unfortunate salad sizing, I was super impressed with my brunch here, and the dishes were seasoned to perfection.

Sucuklu Pide: dried beef sausage flatbread with eggs $29.

5/5: The Sucuklu Pide is great. Dried beef sauasage on flatbread. With eggs, it's $29.The flatbread is unleavened, so it's not chewy/puffy like pizza dough, so not quite perfect. Great service. Authentic Turkish people on the staff. Was not busy on a Saturday at 4 PM.

My friends and I came here on a week day for dinner and got sat in around 15 mins for a group of 8. Even though we sat outside it was still warm and the waiter still check up on us a lot. The food was amazing! The dishes are great to be shared especially the Cold Mezes and the items From the Oven. The Pides are a must order if you're here but we really love the Kasharli Beyti dish! We came here to celebrate our friend's birthday. Although you cannot make a reservation, I would still recommend this place for dinner with a slightly bigger group.

This visit, we came determined to finally see what all the hype was about--and I'm so glad we did. The wait was about 30 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad for such a popular spot. The best part? Once we were seated, service was incredibly efficient. Our food arrived quickly, giving us more time to savor every bite. The oysters were as fresh as they come--briny, sweet, and tasting like they had just come out of the bay. We ordered all three grilled oyster varieties, and each one was outstanding. The toppings added layers of flavor without masking what makes a great oyster so special: its delicate natural sweetness. It's a balance that's surprisingly hard to get right, and Hog Island nailed it. Then came the clam chowder. Wow. Velvety, rich, and loaded with tender clams, it had deep, comforting flavor without feeling overly heavy or salty. Easily one of the best clam chowders I've ever had. Now I completely understand why people are willing to wait in line. Some places are all hype--this isn't one of them. Hog Island absolutely lives up to its reputation, and we'll happily be back!

I wouldn't call it the best cioppino I've ever had, since I've definitely had better, but I did enjoy the seafood in the dish. The portion was very generous and could easily feed two people. Surprisingly, it tasted even better as leftovers the next day, after the flavors had more time to develop. I'd honestly recommend getting it to-go and eating it the next day if you can. You'll also avoid the 2-3 hour wait if you don't have a reservation. Scallop Sauté (10/10): DELICIOUS! The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the garlic sauce was rich, flavorful, and packed with flavor. I'd definitely come back just for this dish! East Coast oysters (9/10): definitely tasted sweeter than the West coast. West coast oysters (10/10): Had a creamier texture which I really liked, but both oysters were delicious with the cocktail sauce and Tabasco that came with it. SERVICE: Definitely make a reservation for groups of 3 or more to avoid a long wait. The staff could be a bit quicker with seating guests, but the service was good overall. AMBIANCE: The restaurant had a fun NY like vibes and was surrounded by lots of other food places that are worth trying. Guests can sit indoors or outside. We were seated indoors in front of the chefs which was a bit hot but still fun to watch them cook. Overall, Sotto Mare was a fun place to celebrate a birthday. I probably wouldn't return specifically for the cioppino, but I'd definitely come back to try some of their other seafood dishes.

I had steamed mussels with fries. There were not enough mussels because they were huge and the sauce was more a broth and not at all flavorful enough. I usually love sopping up every last drop of the juice. But the really disappointing aspect of our dinner was the service. There were 3 people behind the service station. All of them need a training course on how to pay attention to paying customers. Instead they were all engrossed in private conversation with each other or with one particular customer. And one of the staff was simply intimidating, and very very loud. I suspected his behavior may have been chemically induced. Our waitress was very sweet, cheerful and helpful when we could catch her attention. But as I said a 15 minute training exercise each evening before starting work would work wonders. Like look around each customer every time you are not doing anything. And the more senior staff member was just uninterested and perhaps a little grumpy. So the food was blah, more flavor in the broth would help, and ok but at today's prices a "dinner out" has to be about more than just the food.
