Great place to go for a romantic dinner or - in our case - a girl's night out. Not too noisy either. We shared the mixed platter, which comes with a sampler of each of the dips and warm soft pita bread, so if you can't decide what to get or like to try a little bit of everything, would recommend. All the dips were so flavorful and the falafel was warm, crispy, and fluffy. We also shared some shishito peppers which balanced well with the yogurt and sea salt. Could not stop eating. For the entree, I had the sultani which comes with their grilled, marinated ground beef and lamb to your preferred doneness (I requested medium rare) and a smoky eggplant and peppers sauce that still makes my mouth water just thinking back on it. For dessert, we shared the kunefe - a baked pastry filled with levantine cheese in syrup and topped with pistachios - and the chocolate sponge cake filled with hazelnut cream. Definitely recommend the kunefe! Overall, dishes were flavorful and well-balanced and lots of shareable dishes with a few vegetarian options to choose from.

Our experience here was good! Came here after seeing the mezze platters on Yelp and loved it when we tried it! It had a good mix of a lot of dips and they were all so tasty! Also loved the dolmas!! We also got the musakka which was delicious, it was my first time trying it and loved it. I would come back here! :)

I loved dunya! This was my first time here and I'd definitely recommend. The vibe inside was amazing - super clean, calm, and I really liked the dim lighting. The food was great! We had some kebabs, burrata salad, and octopus. The salad was a hit for me. My one complaint is we were trying to share between a group of 3 and the portions were a little too small. Otherwise, the service was great and we had a wonderful and tasty dinner.
My brother wanted Ramen and I saw this restaurant and looked at the reviews. This place reminds me of restaurants in Honolulu. This place only does ramen so you know they know what they are doing. I ordered my Shio ramen with corn, veggies and pork belly. These were additional items to add. The service was excellent and the restaurant is very small and intimate. If you're looking for a new place to try, support this small business

Dunya Bistro in Polk Gulch is a cozy neighborhood gem serving up fantastic Mediterranean fare at reasonable prices for the quality and presentation of the food. The service staff was so friendly and welcoming and we loved the flavors of everything that we tried. The mixed meze platter was a real standout, not only due to the sheer variety of offerings and how packed with flavor each item was but also the stunning presentation, making it as fun to dig into as it was enjoyable to eat. The namesake burger, with its mixed lamb and beef patty, was so juicy and also incredibly flavorful! Perfect spot for a date night or for a group of friends looking to catch up over delicious food and an interesting and varied wine selection.
Okay updating my review cause went again with the main dishes and it was all so flavorful and well plated (good portion size as well). Felt very balanced in the dishes as well with some veggie etc
I ordered Beyti - cut pita wrapped beef with tomato sauce, medium rare. The plating added 2 points. My friend ordered Adana, ground beef and lamb, medium. She didn't care for it due to lacking of flavor and dried meat. The place is cute and cozy but the noise level is quite high. It's good for intimate social settings. The service is decent. When my friend had some issue with the bill, the manager went above and beyond to find solutions.
A well-decorated Mediterranean spot off of Polk street. Such a pretty place on the busy street, offering tapas, great wine, & delicious desserts. Parking was alright on a Friday evening, but the neighborhood is a beautiful walk. Greeted at the door, we were offered a seat at the bar since we did not have reservations. The servers were sweet and attentive. We tried their Greek wine & got a second glass to compliment the first. For our appetizers we shared the octopus, small portions but a delicious start to our meal. We shared the Keftedes and the Beyti. The food was good and worth the try. A little bland but the spices had a good mix. The star of the show for me was the dessert! We got the chocolate dome and I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing in two bites. The texture was fun and it was not overly sweet. Great spot for a date or to share the sample platter with friends!

I found my new favorite wine bar and bistro! We came in on a Friday night around 7:30pm, with no reservation, and after waiting 10 minutes, we were able to be seated at the bar (even got some champagne while we waited). It's small and cozy, so I definitely recommend a reservation on weekends. The owner was actually working the bar, and we sat next to his wife! They were lovely. The server, Idris, was so funny and so knowledgeable about wine and food. My favorites were the oktapodaki, the muhammara dip, and the kasharli beyti. All the food was really good! This is the definition of a locally owned business. It feels so cozy and full of community and good vibes. Excited to come back! They also said they plan to start a happy hour menu this week! read more

Dunya is an adorable cozy little restaurant. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. There's a nice variety of Mediterranean options for both food and wine. I had a dry Greek wine. The lentil soup was perfect for a chilly San Francisco evening. I opted for the Octopus which was well prepared. I had a little room for dessert so was tempted by the chocolate dome. It was really sweet and rich so I had half, but got a little to-go for the rest. I think that is my breakfast tomorrow! read more

Dunya is my new favorite restaurant in SF. I really enjoy Mediterranean food and the food from Dunya has increased my appreciation even more. The owner, Coskun, is absolutely delightful, warm and welcoming. The mixed meze platter he curated was absolutely divine and just enough to appease my appetite. The space is moody and romantic, perfect for a wine bar. I didn't have any wine because I wasn't drinking at the time but I will try some next time. I can't wait to visit San Francisco again just to try Dunya and Chef Coskun's other restaurants in the area. read more
Stopped by here for a quick bite to eat. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day out. They had bottomless mimosa so I took advantage of that. My husband and I shared a meal since we were going to the 49er game. Our server was very sweet and nice. We shared the Angus sliders and OMG!!! They were delicious. It also came with the most delicious fries too. I look forward to coming back for dinner as the menu looked great. read more
2 mediocrely seasoned kabobs served over beans and rice with a side of barely grilled tomato is not the middle eastern food that i grew up eating. spent $85+ for a dinner for 2 and a glass of wine. outrageous pricing that doesn't live up to the quality or taste of the food. the chicken kabob was dryer than i'd have hoped, however the beef was better seasoned and cooked. so if you find yourself here, go beef. the portions are small, you won't be needing a to go box. overall disappointed. am i being harsh? yes. would this place get 4 stars if the cost was halved? absolutely. but for a restaurant at this price point, i expected more. service was good and quick. read more

10/10 bottomless mimosas and service was great. Enjoyed the slider Benedict and shakshouka. The prosciutto arugula Benedict was wayyyyy too salty. The prosciutto was completely crisped up and overbearing. read more

I honestly had no expectations going in, but I was blown away by the salmon provencal dish -- soo nice and creamy, and I loved the fennel/sundried tomato on it. It was really unique and tasteful, and loved that it was paired with veggies and healthy rice and chickpeas. I was very satiated after eating this dish. I came with a friend for dinner and she got the Dunya burger which she also enjoyed. The fries we shared and were thin and crispy the way I like them. Ambiance was dimly lit and not that busy (went for a weekday dinner). Service was pretty reasonable and I would totally come back just to eat this salmon. This was a nice neighborhood treat after passing by so many times! read more

This is my absolute favorite bottomless brunch spot in all of SF! My friends and I have probably been here at least 10 times and we always look forward to the next time we get to go back. I almost always get the burger, which is made with a delicious combination of ground beef and lamb. The patty is so thick and juicy, I usually deconstruct it and eat the burger piece by piece. The fries are thin, crispy, and well seasoned too. The servers are absolutely phenomenal, very attentive but not overwhelming. They always joke around and interact with us and it adds so much to the overall experience! The vibes inside always feel like a warm summer day, no matter the season. Walked in for a quick lunch at Dunya, a very cozy and cute restaurant on Polk St. I sat at the bar without a reservation and the bartender and servers were very attentive. I ordered the Adana kebab which was very well spiced and flavorful. Just wished the kebab portion was slightly larger for the price. I wanted to try the octopus but unfortunately they were out! Will be back to try some more of the menu. read more
I went for brunch with some friends, and we had a decent time. I appreciate that the menu had a bunch of interesting options beyond your typical brunch fare, however, nothing really stood out. I don't even think I even finished my plate before getting just a little tired of it. The restaurant was clean, but the service felt just OK, a little too slow at times. I'm sure they would have more interesting options for dinner, and maybe I'll come back for that, but brunch almost feels like an afterthought in the city with so many options. read more

Came back to Dunya this weekend for a lunch visit and bottomless mimosas! Once again, was not disappointed by this place. The waitstaff are always really friendly to us and happy to keep the mimosas coming. We made a reservation for 12:30 and were the only customers when we arrived, but as time went on the restaurant filled up in the early afternoon around 1/1:30. The food here is also really good. I went with the dunya burger, which is a beef and lamb patty on a ciabatta bun. The price for the burger is a little on the high side ($22), but it comes with fries AND a side salad, so in the end it feels like a good deal for the amount of food. Overall another really great time at Dunya and I will definitely be returning again in the future!! read more

I met a friend here for a quick bite after work . It is a pretty intimate and cozy space which is what drew me in. I thought the service was pretty average. We had the mezzo platter which includes a little bite of everything. Overall I found it a little disappointing and think you are better off sticking to the individual hummus, tzatziki and muhammara dishes. read more
