    Cheese and Mushroom Gozleme

I have been coming to A La Turca regularly for two decades and I've only had a good meals. It's a family owned place. Keep in mind sometimes the service experience is inconsistent, and ithe location can be inconsistent too with parking and general safety. I love the pides because they make their own dough. During my last visit, my dining partner got the golzeme with cheese (a thinner dough) and it appeared to be a pre-made tortilla , however they said it was still delicious like a "Turkish quesadilla". [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has reasonable prices, it's a cute date choice, and the food is consistently wonderful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We stopped here for dinner Friday night before our concert at Great American Music Hall. It was walking distance so it was very convenient. There were plenty of tables and we were greeted and seated very quickly. We tried the beyti kebap and regular Turkish soda. The soda reminded me of the regular ramune flavor I think it was supposed to be mixed berry flavor but I'm not sure. I definitely recommend the beyti kebap. I would come back and try more stuff here.

My pitas were so soggy that they were inedible. The manager's excuse was that they had been putting the pitas on top of the salad for years and there had never been a problem. They didn't realize that you can't put bread or anything like that on top of the salad and that it would turn into dough. They tasted good but incorrect packaging caused my product to go to waste and the lady who answered the phone said she was the one responsible for that and she was very rude.

Came in for a late night spot of tea and baklava and this 100% hit the spot. I'm in love with Turkish cuisine so I was so excited to stop in. Wish we could have come for dinner but I guess we will just have to make another trip out to do that The tea and baklava were perfect and I definitely recommend this for everyone!!

Great food, great casual atmosphere, great people. In SF for business and the Uber driver from the airport was from Turkey. I asked where I should go to get food Turkish food and he said "A La Turca". Happened to be ~6 blocks from my hotel. Went the for lunch. It was great. Had Chicken Kebab and a Turkish coffee (as always). Chicken was super moist, coffee was perfect. Photos below.

Good service, food was also good, had lentil soup and kofte kebab. They also offered tea afterwards .it's walking distance to union square but it was not a very pleasant walk because it's a weird part of SF. But food was good, restaurant looked clean, and owners were nice. Price was reasonable.

A super yummy Turkish place for some great lamb! The lamb chops are somewhat on the small side, but they make up for it on the other dishes I always get. The deep fried eggplant with tomato sauce and garlic yogurt is a great alternative for ANY veggie lovers. Another appetizer that is a must is the Ispanakli Borek. A super flaky spinach and cheese pastry. One of the best Turkish spots in the city.

Iskander kebab is good. Being new to Turkish cuisine, I appreciate the combination of meat, tomatoes and cubed bread which make for a balanced meal with great flavors. Service is good; attentive and personalized. Ambiance is good and I feel safe on this northern edge of Tenderloin. I'll be back!!

Excellent, delicious authentic Turkish cuisine in a comfortable setting in Nob Loin and street side tables set right against the building The Lentil Soup is very satisfying with that subtle spice that has you savouring every spoonful. The lamb is tender and bustling with flavor. The pita is authentic fresh and has just the right texture to soak up whatever your heart desires The staff is attentive warm and professional. I've come to know and respect my neighbor Owner Özgul Yolcu a bright, savy, stunningly beautiful inside and Turkish Business woman. I love dining at A La Turca and I'm honored to call Ms. Yolcul friend.

We just tried to go there and they were closed, fully gated, even though it says they're open at this time. I suggest calling them first.

It can be incredibly difficult to find a venue for a crowd on short notice, but we were able to book a reservation for a party of 16 people just three days before for a Saturday night. The menu is beautifully simple, making it excellent for families. There is a very good selection for vegetarians, and it is equally great for kids (the fries were a huge hit!). The atmosphere was perfect for a celebration. Even with a large group, it wasn't overly noisy, making it very easy to hold a conversation. The vibe is versatile enough that it would be just as great for a big gathering as it would be for a cozy date night. The only minor downside is that parking can be quite tough in the area, so I'd recommend giving yourself a little extra time to find a spot. Of course, curiosity got the best of me, so I came back the next day--and wow, I'm glad I did. From the moment you walk in, you're hit with the culture, the decor, and the energy of the place. The atmosphere alone is worth experiencing, but the food is what really steals the show. We started with the sampler, which came with a variety of appetizers and dips. The baba ghanoush was absolutely fire, and the shakshuka was packed with flavor. The chicken plate was solid, the kebab plates were incredibly juicy, and the glazed braised lamb was completely off the hook. For dessert, the muhalabia was the perfect finish, and the grilled hanger steak is an absolute must-order. And whatever you do, don't leave without trying Samir's hand-kneaded bread--it's unforgettable. If you haven't checked this place out yet, do yourself a favor and make the trip. The hype is real

I ordered the chicken and beef kabob plate, and while the meat was flavorful, I wish they included more hummus. At around $25- $30 per plate, I expected a more generous portion. I ordered takeout and arrived about an hour later because the app never updated to show my order was ready. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and they didn't start preparing my food until I got there. I mentioned that I had placed the order an hour earlier and expected it to be ready, but the server seemed to brush off my concern, which was disappointing. One highlight was the hot sauce. I'm not sure if it's house-made or not, but it's so good. The pita, however, was a letdown. I prefer my pita soft, fluffy, and warm, but this one was hard and grainy. Overall, it's a cute restaurant with decent food, but it isn't my top choice.

The staff were super attentive, friendly, and helpful. They were willing to accommodate the fact that we were in a bit of a rush and met our requests quickly and efficiently. The interior was curated well, bright, and airy, with views into the kitchen from across the restaurant. We started by ordering delightful, cocktails, and the trio of dips, which were very tasty. When we asked for extra pita bread on the side, the waiter provided us their wood fired flower bread on the house, which proved to be a highlight of the meal. The soft interior of the bread contrasted excellently with the crunchier exterior. I won't forget that bread anytime soon. The dips themselves were excellent, though the muhammara was a stand out. The crispy shrimp appetizer was great, providing an uncomplicated but fun bite which allowed the soft shrimp to work well with the crunchy exterior and sweet sauce. The shish kebab was praised by the birthday girl for its seasoning and consistency. For the main entree, we got the bronzino, which came with sardine rice, mustard, and some delightful greens, which were another standout on the meal. While the price is high for the Bronzino entree given how much fish was served, we did feel that the quality of execution balanced out the price point. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and, believe that it's worth going out for if they are in a different neighborhood and want a delightful Turkish meal.

The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief.
