American Array gave the best quote amongst all the others. Carolina at sales was very responsive and got the answers from the right people when she didn't know it. On installation, American array sent a person who didn't know how to deal with Metal tile roof's and he had used the wrong hooks on the rafters pointing that out to Sam, He owned the mistake and replaced those metal tiles which were cut and redid the job. Fernando went out of his way to get things right. Fernando and Helaid even worked on weekends to meet the dates and did a great job. The whole process even with the glitches was done well within two months with no subcontractors. The system passed inspection with no problems. I would have given then 5 stars if I had got Fernando and Helaid. But, I would recommend them highly as they owned up their mistake and fixed it. read more

No less than five stars for Omar and his team! Omar is very professional and approachable. From the consultation stage, to installation, to after sales follow ups and customer service, our experience with American Array was amazing! My wife and I chose American Array over other solar companies due to Omar's honesty and thorough knowledge of the whole process. Their warranty is thus far the best in the industry and we saved a couple of thousand dollars as well (compared to quotes given by three other companies)! We highly recommend Omar and American Array! read more

We just got Solari in Buckeye,Az and all due to Sal Broman and his wife. They are so sweet and kind to us through the whole process. That they made it all quick and easy. Sal also makes it super easy to get a hold of him. We just got the Solar installed so pending review on that. Overall we like to thank our project manager for everything. read more

We are impressed with the services. We were connected to them through Energy Sage. I decided to use them because they were local. It was a tough decision, but being local was a deciding factor for me. We signed the contract in April of 2022 and we were fully connected by July. We were informed of each step. The roofing person, installers, and person who met with us were nice. We were called, texted, and emailed throughout the process. Good job, American Array Solar and Roofing, read more

This review is strictly for sales rep anthony e. I inquired about starting a quote I got through energy sage. Start the process Anthony asks a few questions including usage amount of panels etc. gave him all the info and let him know amount of panels I need. Before we get off the phone he tells me you might wanna add a few more panels before nem 3.0 kicks in. Gotcha. Hour later sends me a proposal with great equipment for a very fair price, so I did inquire about maybe adding some more panels. Anthony's little man syndrome kicks in over the phone and texts me saying his time is valuable and blah blah blah. Lol what a dumba** lost a customer when he could've easily got 5 or so more panels from me. Sorry American array but this dude needs to go. Especially with the great price and equipment you guys are offering!! Asked for a call back from a supervisor both from him and the Livermore headquarters and got nothing. So now we'll start with the BBB and google reviews process :). Good job Anthony get 'em tiger!!! read more

Worst experience ever! First after having my solar panels removed I had to wait a month for them to start my roof. First day, I wake up to guys just throwing my old roof all over my yard damaging my house, concrete, pool equipment. Nails everywhere including my pool. So much damage I can't even list it. Put gutters on incorrectly with screw indents in the gutters. DONT use this company unless you want crappy work! And now they are trying to charge me more money to cover there mistakes and say I'm late paying them. No home owner should have to pay before the job is fully complete! read more

I want to give these guys a decent review. They saved me money versus Tesla, at least at the time I got the estimate. But the office was a bit disorganized. It took a while to get the installation done. They sent an electrician from Fresno who brought an apprentice and they made a few mistakes that I caught that prompted American Array to fire them after the job. Also the installation used "feet" roof attachments that departed from the approved plans. But the real problem was subsequent to the job I decided I wanted to add a second battery. I got a quote that was 50% lower from another vendor to add a Powerwall. This vendor was the same guy American Array hired to design my system. But they said if I wanted to go with an outside vendor for a second battery, my entire warranty would be voided. Never mind that this is a guy they've worked with and trust and he isn't touching the roof. I complained, a lot, and their compromise was to say I would have to hire them to babysit the vendor during the installation to make sure nothing is messed up. Price? $1400. For a guy to stand there for 90 minutes. Why piss off a customer like that? A good review and reference for neighbors that want their own solar is probably more valuable? read more

I have been waiting almost 6 months for my solar to be installed and finished and no one calls and update me on why they can't finish the job I have to constantly call and ask for updates and they say they'll call back and no one ever does, I had already told them I didn't want to move forward anymore because they lack communication with costumer's and they just said we'll you'll have to pay all the permits anyway if I didn't want to keep waiting with no updates on anything, so I would suggest anyone to find someone else for your solar plan, this experience has been frustrating and just unnecessarily long read more

Had set up an appointment to meet with Deion which went great. Had scheduled a follow up today (4/29) to go over possibly working out a deal as they had a great 30 year warranty for everything. In between meetings, I had asked for a quote which was never sent to me. I contacted Deion a 2nd time and he said he would send one my way momentarily...and I was never contacted again. I read someone else's bad review and I now believe I have suffered the same fate as I was interested in purchasing my system rather than financing. As Im writing this, Ive reached an agreement with another company. read more

I have installed the Solar System from American Array Solar in Feb 2023 certified for NEM 2.0. The service had been amazing right from the initial discussion, site visit and quick roof check to help assess the conditions, then completing the documentation for NEM2.0 compatibility. They had also provided the very good financing options with lucrative interest rates fitting my budget. The installation team went above and beyond and also ensured to finish the installation within the deadlines along with the CITY survey and needed documentation considering the server winter weather in early 2023. Sales and technical executive Veena Sandeep, and Gina were amazing with their help providing accurate and timely documentation and tech-help as needed. I rate them 5 star solar providers. All the best ! read more

Sometimes you just get lucky - I had been looking at Solar systems and had received 5 quotes from various Companies via Energysage.com, one of them being American Array Solar, but had not moved forward with any of them. My neighbor is a Sunrun sales person and I had talked with them, but they only wanted to sell me a leased system, I wasn't interested in a lease. While out in my garage one day, in walks a sales guy who was selling solar. I saw the Company name on his shirt and decided it might be fate, asked him in and we got the deal done on the spot. They were not the cheapest nor the most expensive. They offered 29 Panasonic EV380 panels and 29 Enphase IQ8+ inverters with Production and Consumption monitoring, a tidy install and painting of any conduit. It took about a month for the design to be completed, and only 1 day for the system to be installed and turned on. It took another week for PG&E to provide the Permit to Operate. System has been online and operating since early Sept and has been flawless. The installers were quick, left no mess and answered any questions I had. Compared to other installs around the neighborhood which have unsightly conduit running down the middle of house walls, American Array Solar went above and beyond to hide their conduit runs and then paint to make it very hard to even notice. I have Family who have Solar systems and they had told me the issues and timeframes they experienced with their installs, they were amazed, as was I, with how fast the install went and with how fast I was issues the Permit to Operate. I give all the credit to American Array Solar they were BETTER than expected. read more

My neighbor recommended American solar array to me and I am extremely happy about their service. They responded fast and professionally with a positive attitude all the time. I would like to recommend this company for all my friends read more

I am extremely satisfied and happy I choose American Solar Array. I was skeptical and worried about purchasing something as expensive as solar, but it turned out better than expected. I got 370 Panasonic panels with Enphase Micro-inverters for thousands less than other bids that used lesser quality equipment. Adam seemed to lead the whole project. He was helpful, responsive and effective. I asked to change the design of the panels after the design process, and he did it immediately without push back. Fernando, the electrician/installer and his crew were fantastic. Fernando explained anything I asked and was completely customer focused. His team was neat and efficient, and the job looks perfect. I am so relieved and impressed with their professionalism. Make sure you try to get Fernando and his team as the installers. read more

I asked for a Solar bid from Gladys Contreras whom is Project Proposal Consultant at American Array Solar and Roofing for a bid. After several back and forths asking for specific information about the proposal she just kept redirecting and reflecting my questions and not answering them directly. How do i know? I'm a salesperson with a 25 year career. This was one of the worst customer service sales experiences I've had in over 10 years. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had actually done $30-$40k worth of business with Gladys and American Array Solar and Roofing... what a nightmare. Run away...don't walk. read more

I had solar installation done by American Array Solar. I am extremely satisfied and happy with the outcome. Adam at American Solar is extremely professional. I had a personal emergency and Adam worked around the schedule to put in all the plans together. Before that Saeed from the company came over and did a detailed study and explained everything to me. They were very mindful of the timeline, since I wanted to avail of NEM2.0. On the day of installation I had to cancel and reschedule. Sam worked around and immediately rescheduled to the day I wanted. After the installation, they came and again explained everything and were present for city inspection. During the entire process, Adam and his team kept me informed and completed all the work without me having to keep pushing them. Adam, Saeed, Sam and their entire team are very professional and I am glad I chose American Array Solar. read more

It has been about 2 years since Solar Array installed my solar panel system and I am well pleased. We have had $0 PGE bill for all of this time and I love being able to monitor my system with the Enlighten app. We are able to see day by day, month by month and even year by year usage and control our power usage. When I first met Omar with Solar Array, I hit him with all kinds of solar questions and he answered them all. I was tired of those selling solar telling me about the gift cards and perks but knew nothing about solar and always tried to set up a sales appointment at my home. Omar was very knowledgeable and I have found everything that he told me was true. Man of integrity and I appreciate that. I am an 38 year retired union electrician and well pleased with the electrical installation. My experience overall has been great and I have told several of my friends and family about Omar and Solar Array. They are truly customer service people! Thanks Omar. read more

They may be the worst company I have ever worked with. Incompetent & shoddy work and non responsive in the office, avoid like the plague.

They gave me good quotes but then, just after I asked for the contract, they ghosted me. The sales guy stopped responding to emails, phone calls, so I called the company, they said they would poke the sales guy, but nothing happened. Feels like some sort of tactic to push against the deadline. Don't fall for it. read more

Had an extremely bad experience with them. Was speaking with one of the sales guys. I had a few questions on the contract and was checking if things can be done differently. The response from them was basically to either accept what we have or leave. Very rude people and that too before signing the contract! I can only imagine how these guys will treat you after they've taken your money. read more

American Array Solar and Roofing is one of top 5 contactors I have done business with in the past 20 years. I cannot believe going solar can be so easy. 8/6/2021 I started shopping for a solar system 8/9/2021 I summited RFQ via Energysage 8/18/2021 I received the initial quote from American Array Solar (AAS) 8/19/2021 AAS revised the quote upon my request 8/23/2021 I signed the contract with AAS 8/24/2021 AAS had an onsite measurement 8/30/2021 AAS completed and rooftop solar layout and submitted the PV permit application to the city after I approved the layout 9/12/2021 AAS installed the solar panels on the roof of my house 9/13/2021 AAS completed the electrical works of the solar system, and registered the solar panels and microinverters on my behalf. 9/22/2021 System passed city inspections except the torque test 9/28/2021 System passed city inspections fully. The system was turned on and started to produce electricity. Permission to operate (PTO) application was summited to PGE 10/15/2021 PGE approved PTO. This was the final day. My electricity was on PGE NEM agreement. AAS summitted all required materials to my solar panel manufacturer to apply a manufacturer rebate of $500 on my behalf! AAS makes the entire process less than 60 days. What is the best of it? They do everything so that I don't have to do anything. Everything keeps rolling automatically from my side of view (I am sure that there are quite some effects done at AAS side). Last but not least, AAS price was very competitive. They offered a 6.9 kW system at 2/3 of the cost of a 6.8 kW system of the PV Mercedes brand. Only Tesla's quote was similar to theirs, but I trusted Panasonic HIT panels and Enphase invertors more than Tesla SC panel and string invertors. read more

(After Original review posted) Company representative came by to speak me - was very apologetic about happened - very nice of them to follow up - shows their commitment to make sure I was being heard. To be clear this is a reflection of the careless way their crews worked, not a reflection of the quality of the service the company provides. (Original review) I am the owner of property next to house that installed their solar system. The installation crew needed to work on my property because I have a zero lot line and the electrical panel is on the wall that is on my property. During the first incident the installation crew that day put all of their tools and parts all over my lawn (which was recently redone with brand new plants, mulch, irrigation) and trashed one of my brand new plants because they carelessly put their ladder on top of it and then moved it and broke off 3 big limbs on the plant - I literally just planted it one month before and it was starting to grow. When that person was done destroying my plant they left plastic wrapping all over the mulch and let all of their colored wire cuttings drop to the ground without picking it up. In addition the same day there were crew members that were working on the roof that threw their cut metal pieces into my plant beds below. On another day the crew threw their home depot receipt on the ground on the street in front of my house and left it without picking it up. On the final day, the crew member that worked around my lawn (because the electrical panel is located there) painted a metal conduit pole to match the wall color and just dropped the brush on the ground and didn't bother to pick it up and throw it away when he was done. read more

This company starts jobs without permits and does a whole lot of weird things they don't call homeowners in advance they just jump on your roof and start working to lock the deal in. The owner of this company is very rude and told me I had to pay $6k out of my pocket if I backed out of the deal there customer service could use some work. Awesome solar companies. Everything is transparent. We even got a mini education/tutorial on solar panels during our first phone calls. We learned more on the technical side on solar panels and associated devices. The price is very reasonably, we were quoted on a clear list of things. Unlike some other companies, we get a quote but didn't tell us exactly what get installed. Once they got the permit, the install was quick just lasted a few days. We signed the contract mid Dec and we are enjoying our solar on Jan 8th. Definitely recommend! read more

Had some issues with our solar panels and Adam was able to get three panels replaced for me within a few weeks.

Before I review this company in particular, let me just say that going solar is great and can save you money, especially if you have a pool and hot tub. We have looked into solar before only to find out that not only would we not save money, but would end up on the hook for significantly more than we currently pay because we don't use much electricity right now. My first impression of American Array Solar was less than stellar when a young man rang my doorbell this afternoon despite my very clearly posted No Soliciting sign. His wording was very carefully scripted to make it sound like he was coming out on behalf of PG&E to work with customers to lower their bill and preserve the environment. It's the same wording the no name alarm companies use to make it sound like they are coming out on behalf of ADT to service your equipment. Don't fall for it, they are their own private company looking to get you to sign up whether or not you will save money. Chances are not as their contract terms are not consumer friendly. While I usually give companies who ignore my No Soliciting sign a one star review for being inconsiderate, I added an extra star in this case because the salesman was hilarious. Not intentionally, of course, but his hair reminded me of that guy from the History channel's Ancient Aliens show. I also found it amusing when he kept referring to himself as a representative for our "local energy company" and mentioned that he was in a work study program at a nearby high school. American Array Solar is not a community based company despite how they try to make it sound. They are based in Oakland and hire teenagers in other communities to make it seem like signing with their company is helping your own community. Instead, it's simply exploiting kids in your community. I moved here from Oakland a couple years ago and I can tell you that their door to door tactics wouldn't work where they are based. If you try ignoring No Soliciting and No Trespassing signs there, you will find yourself back out on the street without your shoes. And that's on a good day. I'd suggest getting a referral from neighbors or looking up some local companies on your own rather that going with a company that uses door to door sales. read more

I highly recommend American Array Solar for solar generation installation. They recently installed 16 solar panels on our residence and obtained approval from the utility company in time to qualify our 5.76 kW system for Net Energy Metering 2.0 despite the fact that I had waited until almost the last moment to apply. They were able to install all the panels on the roof in one day and worked with me regarding placement of the conduit, circuit breaker box, and A/C disconnect box. All workers were very courteous and respectful of our property. As further evidence of their expertise, American Array Solar ensured that the project passed inspection by the city and obtained approval from our utility company to turn on our system all within two weeks from the day they started work on the physical installation. The entire process was amazingly efficient and hassle-free. Everyone from the company with whom we engaged were very professional and pleasant to work with and certainly deserve our highest possible rating. I've been doing a lot of research on solar panels for my home. I've been wanting to add solar panels to my roof for quite some time now. I'm always very skeptical when looking up companies on line because you never know if the business is reputable. While doing research online I came across American Array Solar. It is based out of Oakland. The customer service was great! Tony was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. He also gave me additional information that I needed in order to make the right decision for my home. He thoroughly explained the benefits of converting to solar panels. Throughout the entire process Tony went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. Don't hesitate to give these guys a call and schedule a consultation. Thanks Tony, I can't wait to get everything installed! read more

We were in the market for solar and called a local dealer. We found the price tag to be out of reach. Project Manager Sal from American Array spoke to us just a couple of days before and left a business card. We arranged a meeting. We had already researched brand name American made solar panels and prices. Before the evening was over we signed on for Solaria panels with Enphase Microinverters and within one month the project was complete. From Sal, and Angie to Adam and the entire American Array team, we found everyone we spoke with to be professional, friendly and informative. Great job American Array Solar. read more

The process of installing solar panels is more complicated than it sounds. You have to deal with the installer, city permits and PG&E. One can easily get bogged down in the bureaucratic maze that prolongs the completion. The biggest hurdle was PG&E. After numerous phone calls I finally realized there was nothing I could do in regards to their approval. On other hand American Array did a good job of keeping me informed regarding the process and seeing that things came to fruition on their part. After some confusion and talking to at least seven different people I was finally able to have Gina take charge. Her positive can do attitude and her willingness to listen to my frustration made the process easier. I also want to mention Jose for his professional and prompt response as head of the installation crew. In conclusion American Array had everything completed within a reasonable time line. read more
