Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. After some back and forth with their customer support, they remotely assessed that the inverter failed and they would install a new one for a reasonable price. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. Jose is an excellent employee and my mom had a great experience working with him.

We needed to add panels because we purchase an EV and needed more solar to offset PG&E. The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. The owner of that business recommended Sunlight Electrical to fix my system. I spoke with Carlos at Sunlight. He sent out Isaac who seemed very capable. Isaac's assessment was that my system had multiple wiring issues and recommended a service that would require a larger team to complete. He explained why, and I concurred with Isaac's recommendation. Carlos scheduled a larger team to come out the next week. They were led by Jesus, who also seemed quite knowledgeable. Jesus and his team worked diligently for 4 hours. They found more wiring errors as Isaac has predicted. And they found a damaged Tesla MC2 unit on the roof which had cracked. After they completed their repairs, the system started operating better than it ever had before. I estimate that I am now getting an extra 10-15% more power from the solar panels. In addition to providing capable technicians, I really appreciate that Sunlight is so easy to work with. I asked several highly technical questions and always got thoughtful answers. If you want something done a specific way, just ask them. They have such a positive, customer oriented attitude that makes them a pleasure to deal with.

Jeff reached out and helped me troubleshoot the problem first before we decided to have them come out. David the technician ended up coming out and found a really serious issue that could have been disastrous had it not been fixed. The communication and quality of the service overall are what really stood out. Between Marlene keeping me informed about the schedule and following up the day after to make sure things were operational to David's work to fix the issue and his communication afterwards and Jeff staying in touch the whole time, it was a great experience. I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

While it was cheaper than PG&E, it was significantly more expensive over the long run than owning the system myself. Solar Sesame is a brokerage company, they don't install the panels; they work with another company…read morecalled GoodLeap that installs, maintain and owns the solar panels. There is a 3.59% increase annually to a flat rate fee and a connection fee with the quote. After 25 years of this contract, you can choose to buy the panels (by that time, the panels will be 25 years older), but if you'd like to keep the panels, it'll cost a todays estimate of 900-$1200 to maintain annually. When I did the calculations would $327 monthly for electricity. And even with the panels, there is a $15 connectivity fee to connect to the main grid aka PG&E. So the quote I got is unsustainable for what I'm trying to achieve; which is to be independent from PG&E. Because I used only about $30 of electricity and $15 gas, but have to pay $125 delivery fee from PG&E, and it's just gouging for no reason. And the solar sesame quote I got ended up more expensive in the long run than if I stayed with PG&E. I was referred to an actual government run solar panel installation company through a local state and federal program called Grid Alternatives and is looking forward to a quote from them. was told by a clean energy program that I may be able to get solar panels free of charge and get a electric panel upgrade at no charge if I qualify. After meeting with their rep; they were pressuring me to sign at the meeting. Very aggressive. The solar seasame rep said he has been with the company for 10 years; but solar seasame was established in 2021. Maybe I heard this wrong, but there were a lot of questions unanswered; and a lot of confusion on who and what is getting done. They also use the Tesla battery...which I don't want to support. Unfortunately I will not be going with Solar Sesame.

We absolutely love having battery backup especially from 4 to 9 PM when PG&E charges the highest peak rate in the Continental U.S. California has the second-highest electricity rates in the U.S., (only behind Hawaii) which makes receiving power from the sun especially rewarding. It's a nerve wracking process but Ryan gave me reassurance things would go well. Upon Ryan's recommendation, we also decided to replace the solar panel racking system installed by Sunrun because we were plagued with roof leaks due to improper sealing of their footings. Ryan and the Northstar team were absolute champs at removing and reinstalling the new system for us. Everyone we dealt with was so professional, kind and easy going. The work was beautifully done and based on all the photos and detail provided by Ryan I am confident we will be safe from leaks going forward. He also had to coordinate the reinstall with our roofer and everyone handled it so well. I 100% recommend Northstar and the team for this task, and also wouldn't hesitate to hire them for roofing based on their strong work ethic and product with our solar project. The price was fair and in line with other quotes I'd received. Since then the system has been working fine. I suggested some changes to their customer service model as all of these issues could have been easily avoided. Through it all, our sales contact, Jason Coolman, was patient and knowledgeably answer our questions as they came up. Everyone at Solar Technologies that we worked with was great. They made sure that things went smoothly and on time. We are thrilled with our new solar system. Solar Technologies has been a Bay Area Sunshares vendor for many years and a lot of other reviewers sound like they're as happy as we are. Down the street from us, a large cluster of neighbors hired Solar Technologies and I have only heard good things from those I've spoken to.

Bad bad bad. They were great at making a proposal and getting our money, but there were so many…read moreproblems with the design and installation. We knew they were running against the clock trying to wrap up installations before the tax credit ran out, but now the system is installed and having TONS of problems and they do not respond to calls or emails. We fin called the manufacturer (Enphase) and they sent a technician out to diagnose and turns out Solar Technologies configured our system incorrectly and other problem. Enphase communicated to Solar Technologies what they need to do to solve all of our problems, but Solar Technologies is completely unresponsive. Our batteries only charge up to 17 percent capacity because they didn't set the system up correctly so basically we paid 50k for a system and that system is only functioning a quarter of what it should be. I wish they would refund us for all the capacity that we've missed out on. They are terrible.

We ultimately decided to expand the project into a full remodel, and even with the additional scope, the updated price remained very reasonable and close to what we had originally expected to spend. Once the project started, everything moved quickly and smoothly through each phase. Communication was timely and responsive, which helped keep the project moving efficiently from start to finish. Tony, the foreman, and his team were extremely detail-oriented and did exceptional work. The craftsmanship really shows in the finished bathroom. Everything looks carefully installed and precise, and the tile work in particular is incredibly clean. I had a bad experience with Sun Power and so I was very guarded when talking with subsequent companies. I was wary of a good sales pitch and follow-up, even pressure, from sales people, but some of the companies I spoke with didn't do follow-up and didn't even reply when I reached out to them (Solar Union). If the company is so busy that they don't have time to reply before the sale, imagine what it would be like after you sign the contract. I nearly signed with at least 2 companies (Solar Optum and NRG) before talking with American Array Solar, but I ran in the other direction when I finally got a look at their contracts. Be sure to read the fine print and know what happens if there are issues along the way. The contracts are usually written so that all costs are beared by the customer, often with an additional 20% profit added for the company, even if the solar is never installed. It certainly seemed to me that it would be fair for the company to forgo a profit if they can't install the panels due to neither the company's or the customer's fault. BTW, American Array is the only company that I found who asks for $1000 when you sign the contract and then waits for the rest until the install is complete. Anthony E. from American Array was a breath of fresh air. He emailed to f/u often, but at the same time he wasn't pushy. He was extremely patient with my questions and he was the ONLY sales person/company that was willing to add addendums to the contract that made me feel like things he and I discussed would be binding. For example, that they would NOT use subcontractors. Note: I read reviews for multiple companies and one of the most frequent complaints is that subcontractors made mistakes that cost customers time and money. Once the contract was signed, Anthony passed me on to Neha G. for guidance through the rest of the process. I only worked with her for a short period, but she arranged to pass me on to a coworker when she was going out on leave for an extended period. I was very impressed that I didn't get lost in the shuffle and didn't need to f/u myself to get assigned to someone else. Gina I. took over without missing a beat. She was very conscientious and efficient. Gina sent me periodic updates and responded quickly and directly when I had questions or was just anxious about the timeline. She even responded to an email after the install was done. During the waiting period I spoke with Adam K. regarding the plans and submission to the city for a permit. I asked for a small change, which he made. He also responded very quickly when the city requested a revision. We live in a 60 year old home that hadn't had an electrical panel upgrade since it was built. Danny W. was the electrician who came out to do the upgrade in prep for the solar install. He was also very efficient and considerate of our property. I really appreciated that he was willing to give me some great info and advice regarding our other electrical issues while he waited for the city inspector to show up. Jose and his son showed up the day after the city issued the permit to install the panels, on a Saturday no less, so that they could work around the rain and bad weather. They had to split the install over 2 days due to rain, but got the work done quickly and everything passed inspection without problems. My other advice for anyone planning to install solar is to decide which brand of panels you want installed before you look for a company to do the work. I wasted a lof of time talking with multiple companies, that of course said the brand of panels they used were the best, but in the end the facts didn't support their claims. I found the info on Energy Sage helpful because it was pretty thorough, but more importantly, I felt they were a unbiased source of information. It's been 3 weeks since the panels were installed/inspected. I'm watching the energy being produced on my Enphase app and waiting for PG&E to grant permission to operate (PTO) so I can use that energy myself. American Array also connected me with Panasonic so I have the 25 year warranty paperwork for parts AND labor in hand. read more

Honestly could not be more impressed with the solar installation American Array Solar team just completed on my home. As a particularly obsessive personality, I spent a couple weeks doing research on panels, inverters, talking to roofers about brackets/mounting, etc. before starting to get quotes via Yelp. I actually didn't have American Array on my first pass of quotes from here because there were a couple other companies with all 5 stars and why bother looking at the others, right? Wrong. PRO TIP- look at EnergySage for cost-savings and to get lots of worthwhile quotes/info fast. So I provided all my info and received several quotes. AA provided such a competitive price (with top of the line panels, inverters, mounting, guarantee), I had to at least give them a look. Their reviews on energysage were decent, but I was a little bummed to see 4 stars here. As is often the case though, when you read the non-stellar ones they stand out as inconsistent with everything else. I decided to talk to AA and give them a shot. The minute I got in touch with the team, I was put at ease. Omar, the project manager was quick to communicate, easy-going, knowledgeable. I got a good vibe and felt reassured. From there things were done incredibly quickly. Team was out to the house 2 days later to evaluate my panel/electrical- a previous company had evaluated and told me I'd need a panel box upgrade (roughly $2500), but AA double-checked and I didn't. That was a nice initial win, and things were literally perfect throughout the process since. I continued to wait for something to fall through the cracks, or someone on the team to make a goof, etc. But EVERYONE (Omar, Jasveen, Mary, Adam) was super knowledgeable/quick and just handled their business exactly as I would want/expect. I had a trip out of state planned and had assumed work wouldn't even start until then...as it turned out, my system is producing energy less than a month from choosing them. As an aside, I replaced my roof prior to having AA do their solar, and he came by to check their mounting/brackets and overall work and he was also very happy. He asked me for their contact for a client of his recently looking to do the same- if that doesn't speak to quality of their work, I don't know what does. I will be highly recommending them in the future. First, my sales consultant, Rick T. He was very easy to understand to value we could foresee in reducing our electrical consumption and how we could offset that with solar production panels. There are 3 ways to benefit. Power Purchase Agreement Lease Purchase The purchasing benefit is I own the system/no money out of pocket/control of my utility rate and get 30% tax credit. With PPA and Leasing, I get no none of the above credits, plus I would pay 2.99% escalation fees each year for the duration of the 20 year term contract. Andrew T. was the layout manager and approval of the condition of my roof. He put his plan together for city approval and coordinated his installers to begin once approved. The installers were dead on proficient. They used good hardware and sealing materials for seismic conditions that exists for California. My 24 panels and micro inverters were then tweaked in to optimization. I usually don't write or comment online often, but this company deserves to be heard about. I wrote the review on another platform too, but let me include some of it here as well. I started with getting quotes and after being contacted by many companies, American Array Solar stood up as very special one. While other companies eventually dropped the ball either in terms of pricing, coming to premises to inspect the roof or simply not answering some more technical questions in time - American Array Solar went above and beyond and answered every detail during the initial design phase, performed simulations and sent crew to confirm placement of every panel and its relative location to every roof obstacle. Also, their design plan document educated me as was the only one that clearly explained and showed important codes pertaining to the solar installation on the roof. No overpromising, just being realistic and transparent from the beginning to end. I would like to specially commend Gina, their customer relations rep who was following up at every step of the process, and Fernando and his installation crew who were the "boots on the ground". They walked me through all details I was interested in. After they installed 6kW system on my home, few months later we moved to another house and I also called them to do the solar install. On new address they installed 13kW system with full main panel upgrade and Tesla connector for car charging. It simply doesn't get better than this - this small hidden gem company really takes care of their customers. Thumbs up! read more

Just moved out to Farifield and purchased our house back in May. Going Solar was always my list, I waited a few months to see what my electric bill would come out too. After awhile I got to see what our usage was in our new home. After coming home from work one day we had a canvasser come to our door, who helped us set up an appointment with a consultant later that week. Meeting up with our consultant Ray was a good move, I got all my questions answered, what got me was the the solar panels are built here in the states and come with a 20 year plus warranty. I also have a pretty cool app that helps me keep track of how much energy my panels are producing. I waited a few months to write the review to see if i was actually saving money, and Iam! Solar is the way to go, there are a ton of companies out there, i suggest shopping around, as i did, Array solar gave me best the pricing. I like how the company is small and gives you direct access to ownership, Tony , Ray and the guys did a great job. Also they offer a referral fee, i wrote down a few names for our sales rep, one of my co workers in Pittsburg is getting solar as we speak. Bottom line Solar is the future, if your a homeowner with a high bill, i suggest you fight back fight the big monopoly they call PGE, Deregulations works guys, competition is good. This is a very unprofessional and shady company. I was very interested in going solar. After dealing with this company and how they operate made me not want to go solar with any company. I was told I would save money on my bill and never did since their crew never hooked up my system right. I dealt with several office staff and only two of the ladies there were helpful and wanted me to get my issues resolved. I spoke with someone believe to be named "Cindy" and she told me that her as a manager and the other managers in office are not going to help me out since I didn't want to keep my solar system since I was lied too. This company is a scam just to make money off of people. I am still waiting for them to pay for what I have lost out on "going solar with them" the worse company ever!! I don't know how they are still in business. I know I will never see my money and why I will be taking this company to the BBB and to court. I feel more people should be aware how this company is. They train their sales people to lie. They even shorted me on panels that I should have had installed. I found this out after having another company come out and they said the company I purchased from didn't give me enough panels for what I am producing. EITHER WAY THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SHUTDOWN. Be Aware!! This is just a sales shell company. I was referred to them by energysage and I signed up with them in 2022 and till now still my solar in not installed although I was promised with completion date before March 2023. Their pricing is good because they would hire unlicensed handymen to do their electrical work including MPU. No support when I have problems with local installers. They aren't even answering phone calls for few weeks now. Tried to reach everyone Daniel Ellis the sales manager who is no longer working with them, project manager Adam always not in the office, Nicholas new sales manager answered me one time and told me his manager Omar is sitting right next him and will call me in few minutes nothing for a week now and no longer answering my phone calls, Sandra the installer coordinator and Julio unlicensed electrician, Benjamin customer support even frustrated when he is telling me he is the only one in the office and he keeps leaving messages to Adam and CEO Tony to contact me but they haven't done so, Mary Raoufi who sent an email to inquire about the issue and then disappeared. Absolutely no customer support. I totally regret signing with them but Unfortunately I have to deal with it. Don't repeat my mistake. Cheap is Cheap for a reason. Don't compromise your home safety for saving some money and then have no support. Lesson learned here. read more

Making a decision on a contractor for a solar power installation is not an easy or comfortable decision given the investment involved and the relative unfamiliarity of the technology for most people. I used EnergySage to give me a number of quotes, all of which were from non-local companies, but it did give a comparison of pricing and equipment, so it was easy to eliminate those which were expensive or offering panels from less well known equipment manufacturers. I settled on American Array Solar and Roofing who offered Panasonic panels and Enphase inverters at a reasonable installation cost. I assumed there would be snags or hidden costs and I would need to have quotes from other companies but the process that American Array offered was simple, fast and efficient. When I needed some options, the costs were defined upfront and never changed at any time so in the end, there was just no need to try other companies. Communications with Kieran, Adam and Mary were very friendly and efficient. They were always fast in responding to questions. Installation was done very effectively and faster than anticipated. My original target installation date was given as July 18th but it was completed on June 28th. For the service, product and cost that they offer, I would not hesitate to recommend American Array Solar and Roofing. read more

We successfully used EnergySage to get broad range of quotes for our solar install completed May 2021 in Moraga CA. I had shortlisted Solar Optima and American Array Solar as they both had teams that were local and did not use contractors. One of the key reasons I selected American Array is I consistently spoke with the same person from the first quote until the signing of the contract. Julene was incredibly prompt on every question I asked and never pushy. I docusigned on April 7th and paid the final invoice May 14. Post signing there was continuous communication on the process, design and submitting the permits. I read reviews on many companies with a lot of drama which I am sure in cases was warranted. Our install with American Array was zero drama and it was incredibly easy. The install took a day, and the installers were all great, down to earth people and happy to talk me through how the technology worked. They were very organized and set up tables with all their supplies as a production line and that gave me even more confidence, they know their craft. They did not leave any trace they were here other than the panels on the roof. It's a big decision and if you are like me and have read the horror stories you worry. First off, buying a solar isn't easy because unless you know people it is like wading into the Ocean. Unless you have a strong referral, you are left to the mercy of a few Wiki articles about Solar panels and generic advice. American Array had great reviews, horrible reviews, and good reviews....but I decided to give it a shot. I was connected to a Project Manager named Alex. He was able to walk me through the process, explain the different types of panels, decipher my PG&E bills with me, and discuss the pros/cons of going solar without being all "sales-y." I couldn't be happier with my service! Besides the juicy 30% rebate you get during your tax return, you save every month on electricity and depending on your usage, you can make a few bucks! If you live in California and your house gets sunlight, it is a damn shame for there not to be solar panels on your roof. It's basically free money. Anyways....I worked with Alex and he was a stand up guy, who always responded promptly and followed through on his promises. The installation took a little over a month from the day I signed the contracts, and they beat the price of bigger and smaller solar companies. I recommend this for anyone looking for an easy and pain free experience. I have already recommended to my family and friends! read more

I started my solar search through EnergySage and American Array was one of the lowest cost bidders initially. The use the panels and invertors I was hoping for, so I proceeded to get a real quote for them based upon actual usage. The sales stage with Keirnan was great, he was responsive and took the time to answer all of our questions. We moved forward into the design phase with Sam, who was great in rearranging a few panels to make sure the house would still look good from the street. The installers were another team who were also very friendly and efficient. They did leave some slight damage to our roof which was repaired at the time of solar panel inspection. We did have to wait 6-7 weeks for our city inspection to make it out to us, this was the longest portion of the wait time and out of American Array's control. After inspection, we passed and the system was turned on. it was inspected again by American Array and hooked into the monitoring app. We don't know yet how it will all work with PG&E, but hopefully our planning will all be worth it! I was initially concerned about installing solar panels due to the fact many people I knew had leaks in their roofs from the installation. American Array Solar assured me from start to finish that they would treat my roof and my home as if it was their very own. They did not disappoint one bit! They guided me through the entire process and patiently walk me through the entire experience. After signing the contract, they continued to surprise me with their expert team of experienced installers. The installers were courteous and professional, but most of all they showed respect for my home and my family. Miguel and his team of installers were great! Mary at the main office was very quick to reply and worked out scheduling the install around my schedule and not theirs. American Array Solar operates like a family run business that really takes pride in serving their customers. They are dedicated and respectful and continue to amaze me. I had the pleasure of meeting with Adam due to the fact that I purchased solar panels 5 years ago from another company and was needing maintenance on the panels. Well unbeknown to me this company is no longer in business. I have spent the last 6-9 months trying to get other solar companies to help me out or point me in the right direction as what needs to be done. No help at all. I seen one of American Array service trucks on the highway and I wrote down the telephone number and contacted Adam the same day. I explained my situation to Adam he was very sympathetic with me and my situation I was left with. Adam went above and beyond in trying to assist me. He spent at least a month of his labor at NO COST trying to reach the manufacture of the panel to get someone to assist me, he also sent two of his technicians to my home for troubleshooting. Unfortunately he was unable to reach any feedback from the manufacturer. IIf you're looking for a reliable,dependable trustworthy company to purchase solar panels American Array is the company !for you. read more

American Solar: Dennis Ramos was my sales person and very thorough answered all my questions and everything that he told me was going to happen happened from start to finish. Everyone that came to do work on our house from American Solar was very professional courteous timely made the experience very enjoyable. At the beginning of this year we had an Internet issue with my provider which in turn affected my reporting to American Solar and my monthly reporting as well. American Solar was still reporting to PG&E so everything was fine there it was just a matter of staying on top of my solar panels and seeing what our daily production was. I was lucky enough to get a hold of Adam at the office on the phone never got his last name but his service to get our solar panels reporting up and running he went above the call of duty. Thank again Adam!! It took a few phone calls and couple of visits but between Adam and Nestor everything turned out positively. i want to take a moment to recognize Adam, an outstanding Manager who truly went above and beyond to help resolve months issues I had with my solar system. He was very professional, attentive & genuinely committed to making sure the problem was addressed properly. After purchasing our home, a year later we found out that the solar system had not been working which cause a true up bill of 1600. Adam personally contacted Enphase to try to resolve some issues and information that was communicated incorrectly. Throughout the entire process, he communicated clearly And made sure that I understood what was happening every step of the way. It's rare to see someone take that level of ownership and care for a customer's concerns. Thank you Adam, for your dedication and persistence. Awesome - Thank you to Kieran and Roxana for such an amazing experience so far. Roxana was my original contact, and contract specialist, and when I had questions on my very complicated roof (tbh), she was able to bring me to a representative and manager who knew more about the detailed process. I've been searching and researching solar for over a year , and thought I knew EXACTLY what I was looking for, and while what I wanted wasn't possible, they were able to explain why, and design a system that was going to work, with production guarantees! Panasonic panels are clearly their strong suit, and me and my husband are very comfortable with how they explained the warranties. The project management team pointed out my roof had issues that might cause future problems, but worked out a partial reroof that allowed me to still get the solar, without having to pay overprice for a whole new roof. I have had American Array Solar for over 7 years. several years ago I had called Array to come look at the roof, it was leaking under the panels. I was told if it was their fault it would get fixed. If not I'd have to pay for the roof it get repaired. No one ever came. The roof was repaired. This year we had several blackouts in the neighborhood. Some like 30 minutes others several hours. I never was shown how to read the app Enphase. On my PG&E bill would see a graph that showed how much energy I was creating. After the blackouts I got 2 True-ups from PG&E. To my surprise I found out not all of my Panels were working. After 7 yrs!! I called American Array talked with Adam. He kind of laughed and said after 7 yrs you're calling me? Yes it took some investigating and time to order the parts. But I can say Adam was always Kind and Helpful. I appreciate his Helpfulness in getting the job done. I've now have learned to read the app and can see if any problems have occurred. Thank you Adam. read more

From "soup to nuts" American Array Solar, Inc. proved to be a gem of a company. At our initial meeting Omar explained the installation process and made clear the financial benefits and costs of solar power. He was always accessible and returned all calls promptly. I can honestly say, as personnel go, he was the main reason we chose American Array Solar, Inc. for this project. Our main installation contact, Ivan, insured all work was done perfectly and in a timely manner. His crew left the jobsite spotless when finished and he showed extreme patience during the city inspection process. Adam was able to get our system online and provided us with the information needed to set up our monitoring account. We were able to do this immediately upon completion of the project. All I can say is, if you are going to have a solar panel system installed on your home, give these folks a call first. I believe it will be the first AND only call you will make. read more

This is a great value with no cost upfront. PG&E is naturally trying to claw back some sort of a pay increase but so far has been honest at true up. They just increase the price for gas. 5 stars. After learning about the expansion, he strongly encouraged me to meet Benny, a general contractor, because he said Benny was very competitive. I was already in the process of selecting contractors for the expansion but had not signed a contract, so I agreed to let Benny inspect the project and show me how competitive his proposal would be. However, I did not agree that Benny would receive the expansion project, and my main reason for the introduction was still the solar-panel work. I specifically told Collin that Benny did not appear interested in doing only the solar project. Collin assured me that the solar work would have nothing to do with whether Benny received the roofing or expansion work. Based on that assurance, I continued the process and asked Benny to prepare a contract for only the solar portion. When Benny stopped responding, I asked Collin whether I should find another solar contractor. Collin responded, "We can do it," and agreed to contact Benny about preparing the contract. Benny later informed me that the solar price had actually been offered with the expectation that his company would receive the entire addition project. Since I wanted only the solar work, Benny declined the job. I forwarded Benny's response to Collin. Collin apologized for the confusion and said he would call Benny the following day to sort it out, but I never received another update. The main problem was that I specifically asked whether the solar proposal was tied to the larger expansion project and was assured that it was not. I relied on that assurance and lost valuable time. Clear disclosure of the condition from the beginning--and a final follow-up after promising to resolve the issue--would have prevented this experience.

The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.

AHS was the most reasonable of the four companies I got quotes from. Meo was communicative and good to work with. There were some issues with timeliness and communication with his installers, but they were relatively minor. Thien, the representative who commissioned the system and met the city inspector, was a gem. I definitely recommend this company.

The cost for both the 10.1 kW and 12.4 kW systems with two powerwalls each for two properties made complete sense even before applying the 30% tax credit. The tax credit is just a nice icing on the cake. The team was professional. The installation went smoothly. We've already seen the savings and long-term benefits. Can you say all you can run AC in the summer? If you're shopping for solar and want excellent value without any of the usual markups, we highly recommend Nabu. I'm happy to share I referred brother to install solar with Nabu. He was very reluctant, but eventually came around. He got his 10.1 kW system with two powerwalls installed earlier this year so he missed out on the 30% Federal tax credit. However, he's still very happy he did it. You simply cannot go wrong with Nabu Energy and its amazing pricing.
