I can't say enough good things about Carlos Gomez from Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions…read more I've been working on a non-standard solar setup using an EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra X and EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 3, and finding a contractor who truly understood this type of system was incredibly difficult. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. Juan was very responsive and came out to take a look at our home right away. What I loved about Juan and his team is they are NOT sales people, they're real engineers who are focused on solving your problems and meeting your needs. Juan and his team are true solar experts and know exactly what they are doing - they were great at walking me through key details I should know about the system, how to best take advantage of having a solar system, and did their best to get me scheduled (in spite of multiple difficulties) for installation before the end of the year. Just for context, I've talked to another solar company where clearly they were just about trying to close the deal and sell sell sell, which really turned me off - it felt like they just wanted our money as opposed to wanting to understand what we really needed. Juan's team really shined here by just showing up to be real experts who are thoughtful about what system you need, as opposed to trying to close a deal. Juan and his team were also really patient and flexible. Our new home's solar system had to be turned on before we could start any work, and that process took months due to Sunnova going bankrupt. And, they were also really thoughtful when we mentioned we had added in some upgrades that would affect electricity use (ie saunas and outdoor electric heaters), and they reassessed their initial project and updated it to accommodate that. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them and am really grateful that we got our project done so well!!

Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. After some back and forth with their customer support, they remotely assessed that the inverter failed and they would install a new one for a reasonable price. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. Jose is an excellent employee and my mom had a great experience working with him.

This is my second time around with Clean Solar, and they are just as stellar as the first time, if…read morenot better and more efficient. We needed to add panels because we purchase an EV and needed more solar to offset PG&E. The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. We have had an Enphase solar installation for 10 years now, which has always worked beautifully…read more However, due to regular PG&E outages in our area (Fremont, CA), we decided to add a backup battery to the system. After careful research, we chose Highlight Solar (HS) to handle this installation. We chose the Franklin battery, and Highlight Solar came out to handle the installation in Nov 2025. Sadly, we had some serious issues with the functionality of our solar infrastructure, after the Franklin equipment was installed... the Enphase solar monitoring device (called Envoy) started having trouble communicating with the panels, and therefore would disable them. HS made a couple of different attempts to fix this issue (which was delayed when they went on vacation for a month), so I had to keep cycling the breaker for the panels every morning to get the system working for another day. Fortunately, they were persistent in pursuing the issue, and after returning from vacation in late January, Samir came out and spent a couple of hours on the phone with Enphase support, who suggested a possible solution for this issue. HS then had someone come out to implement Enphase's suggestion, and now my system is working solidly and reliably (Feb 2026). I'm glad HS didn't just give up on us; I'm sure they were just as frustrated as we were by this situation. We certainly didn't expect this to take three months to resolve, but it is working now.

Ali, our salesman, remained patient and communicated thoroughly via email or phone, and at all hours even after we had signed the paperwork. The installation process was honestly better than the sales process. The combination of Chris (the foreman who found a solution for all our requests) and his team which worked in awful weather to get our project installed on schedule were amazing. Our inspection, and final handoff were handled by Samir, who answered even more questions, and made sure we were fully set up. From end to end we had a great experience with Highlight Solar and will recommend them as they were to us. Pro tips: If you get a battery you will need to store it until it is installed. Your solar data might not show up on the app for 24-48 hours after installation...don't panic, it will show up eventually and you will see the money you are not spending with PG&E.

They informed me they would follow up once the new inverter arrived. Shortly thereafter, I received a message confirming its arrival and offering to schedule the installation. They were flexible and worked within my availability, which I found very accommodating. The technician who arrived was professional and respectful. Since my car was parked next to the inverter, he asked if I could move it so he would not accidentally damage it during the work. That level of thoughtfulness stood out to me. He completed the replacement efficiently, verified that everything was functioning correctly, and gave me time to ask any questions. The following day, I received an invoice for the labor, which was competitive. I believe the cost was considerably lower than what many other solar companies would charge for a similar service. Overall, I am completely satisfied with both the quality of work and the level of service. If your solar system is not functioning, I recommend reaching out to Solar Service Call. Even if you are considering calling your original installer, it may be worthwhile to see what Solar Service Call can offer. You could receive excellent service at a more competitive price.

Danielle in the office was a joy and our project manager Jason was there for us all along the way. The install crew was phenomenal and completed the entire project in two days. We absolutely love having battery backup especially from 4 to 9 PM when PG&E charges the highest peak rate in the Continental U.S. California has the second-highest electricity rates in the U.S., (only behind Hawaii) which makes receiving power from the sun especially rewarding. It's a nerve wracking process but Ryan gave me reassurance things would go well. Upon Ryan's recommendation, we also decided to replace the solar panel racking system installed by Sunrun because we were plagued with roof leaks due to improper sealing of their footings. Ryan and the Northstar team were absolute champs at removing and reinstalling the new system for us. Everyone we dealt with was so professional, kind and easy going. The work was beautifully done and based on all the photos and detail provided by Ryan I am confident we will be safe from leaks going forward. He also had to coordinate the reinstall with our roofer and everyone handled it so well. I 100% recommend Northstar and the team for this task, and also wouldn't hesitate to hire them for roofing based on their strong work ethic and product with our solar project. The price was fair and in line with other quotes I'd received. Well all was pretty good until May of 2025. 2 panels were putting out about 35% less than the…read moreothers. I called and was told they would get in touch with SolarEdge Support Team. Follow up email from Charlotte Fontanilla stated the Support Team suggested a visit to my residence for further assessment. She stated she would let me know when a service appointment could be finalized. Didn't hear anything and honestly I forgot about it until January. Called again in January and supposedly Charlotte was pretty good at NOT following up with customers according to person I spoke with. Well the response was better this time. They came out and tested "installed modules" and submitted claim on my behalf with Canadian Solar. That claim was denied but after consulting with SolarEdge they identified that it was related to the optimizers rather than the solar panels themselves. Optimizers were replaced and now different panels are not working properly. After back and forth for 4 more months now it's the panels that are bad BUT not bad enough to warranty. Very interesting. I'm hoping someone in the company with integrity will read this and fix the situation. When I purchased my solar from West Coast Solar I was told and I quote "you got bumper to bumper 25 year warranty everything is covered". Well apparently it isn't.

By which I mean the technicians who come out have been awesome, pleasant to deal with, and do good work. When its working as Id like, the system works great. All that to say as long as you never ever ever need to reach out to them for literally anything, you'll have a great experience. Otherwise, its a nightmare. After installation it took 6 - 8 weeks of constant emails and phone calls multiple times per week to get them to resolve the installation issue (circuits missing off the backup loop) and correct my storage profile for charge/discharge. Trying to get their help both times after that has been equally atrocious, and with my system currently down I emailed the, and opened a ticket on their website (where both their phone numbers are non active) and it took another week to get a response. At this point i'd say 2 years feels consistent enough to say 4/5 stars on install and installers, 0/5 stars on customer service.

David the technician ended up coming out and found a really serious issue that could have been disastrous had it not been fixed. The communication and quality of the service overall are what really stood out. Between Marlene keeping me informed about the schedule and following up the day after to make sure things were operational to David's work to fix the issue and his communication afterwards and Jeff staying in touch the whole time, it was a great experience. I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

Highlights: - Very professional - Attention to detail - Honest - Works well with roofers - Great customer service Chris was recommended to us from a friend in the solar industry. He did not disappoint and turned out to be a great recommendation. We had old solar panels on our roof that were installed by the previous home-owners. We needed to replace the roof and therefore remove and reinstall the solar panels. The quotes we received were extremely expensive considering it was just a remove-and-reinstall. All the other companies we contacted just looked on google maps at our system and did not come to the property. Chris drove out and climbed on our roof to give an estimate. After looking at the setup, he explained that even though the other companies gave estimates, we might expect large upcharges due to the need to fix installation code policies (wires lying on roof, no fire setback, etc). Chris spent ample time at our house explaining all options. We decided to go with a new system after he explained that after the tax credit and selling our old solar system, we could have a brand-new system that is more efficient with half the panels while being code compliant for a small percentage more than the cost to remove-and-reinstall the old panels. The reroofing process and installation could not have gone any smoother. Our roofer wanted to do flashing mounts that were installed and have his roofers cut around the flashing to ensure the roof was sealed. He insisted on a certain flashing that Chris had to find and special order. Chris did not hesitate to make this happen. When the roofers said they would start in two days, Chris was there with his team ready to start. Chris's installers and the roofers were all working on the roof at the same time seamlessly with zero issues even though this was the first time they had worked together. The roofer also had high praise for Chris and his team. I would give Chris the highest recommendation and I have no doubt if there is an issue, he will be out to check and fix it immediately. read more

I have been a little slow to post this review but was reminded that I had promised one in a follow up email I received from Chris Paredes, owner of Kingdom Solar, in which he was checking up on how I thought, our system was working. After receiving quotes from 2 Solar contractors, we were referred to Kingdom Solar by a relative. My initial contact was through Kingdom Solar's WEB Site (https://kingdomsolar.com) where I submitted a request for a bid which was received in less than 24 hours and more detailed than others I had received. Plus, their price was lower that the other bids and the design was to produce more energy and more closely matched our usage. My initial contact with Chris Paredes, owner of Kingdom Solar, was via a phone call where we discussed the bid and what steps we needed to go through if we accepted his bid. An on-site visit was scheduled where we again discussed what needed to be done to install solar on our home. Once we accepted Kingdom Solar's Bid, a date and time were scheduled for the install. The workers that came to install our system were very prompt, cordial, friendly and respectful of our property. They, also, spent time explaining the installation process and what each change to our electrical service was for, how it worked and why we needed it. Once the system had been installed, it passed inspection by Union City's Building Department and Chris completed the necessary PG&E paperwork that got us approval and permission to connect to PG&E's Power Grid. Our system has been working efficiently and has generated power every day since it was installed in September 2018. It has cut the amount of power we pull from the grid each month by about 1/3rd, which is expected during the fall and winter months, and we look forward to seeing how much energy it will generate during spring and summer. read more

Kingdom SOLAR without a doubt is the most conscientious solar company with the best employees and a hands on owner.I was dealing with a lot of solar companies trying to get me to sign on the dotted line and dealing with a lot of high pressure sale tactics but Solar Kingdom was a refreshing change they were the last bid I received and Chris the owner hit the ball out of the park,He arrived on time and explained everything to me and was not pushy in the least bit.While all the other solar companies just wanted to put the solar panels on with no concern about the condition of my roof which I had serious doubts about.Chris went up on the roof and showed me where the roof was failing and confirmed my suspicions about needing a new roof he said repairs could be made and he could put the solar on but I should really think about reroofing before installing solar as it would involve additional cost in the future to take off the solar panels later and reroof.So long story short I had bids on a new roof hired the roofer and had new roof installed in 4 days. Our experience with Kingdom has been just fantastic. From beginning to end, it has been a real pleasure to work with Chris. I already had a 10 year old solar installation on my roof but, as part of a big remodel, I wanted to upgrade the system. It took a lot of back-and-forth with Chris for me to decide on what I wanted to do. Chris was super helpful and patient during this whole complicated design phase. We ended up deciding to upgrade the existing panels (adding optimizers to each), add a bunch of new panels that effectively doubled the capacity, and upgrade the inverter. Chris did a great job, worked well in coordinating with the contractor who is doing the remodel, got each phase done in a very timely way, and kept me involved and informed the whole time. You really can't get any better than this. I know he's just starting out with his own license (although he's been in the biz working for others for many years) but he really acts like an old pro. And the price was great. This whole thing cost me 1/3 of what the original system cost me 10 years ago. That shows you how much the price of solar has come down, but it's also a testimony to how cost-competitive Chris is. Without a doubt, one of the best service companies we have ever dealt with! My husband and I had solar installed at our home by a big name solar installer about 5 years ago. It was a nightmare. So, when we wanted to help our son and daughter-in-law get solar at their house, we knew who we SHOULDN'T call. Thankfully, we found Kingdom Solar and the difference between the big name company and Kingdom Solar was unbelievable. When issues occur in a project with a big company, you are passed around from person to person as know one wants to or knows how to deal with them. When an issue occurred with the old electric panel at our kid's house, we were informed, options were discussed, and Chris interfaced with PG&E on our behalf to resolve what could have been a very big problem. Chris simply stepped up and took care of us. We didn't have the knowledge or background to know how to proceed with PG&E, but Chris did. I feel certain he advocated for the best solution and really looked out for us. That had to have been a lot of extra work that was not anticipated, but it was handled professionally and as expeditiously as possible. I cannot stress enough what a positive experience this was for us. Chris sets the bar pretty high for service and integrity. His whole staff was a pleasure to work with. Late post: We had Chris and his team at kingdom solar install our solar panels last August 2018. We had done our preliminary research on solar panels and wanted to own the panels (versus leasing) for both the tax credits and to not have to deal with the lease agreement in the event that we wanted to sell our home. The entire installation process only took 3 days. Because it is such an upfront investment it was very important to us that we would be working with a company that was knowledgeable, professional, and competent. Chris took his time to explain the process and answer our questions about the equipment, maintenance, installation, pg& e, all of it. This included discussion on everything from the wattage of the solar panel to panel positioning to the oversight systems. Chris and his team were extremely easy to work with. Again, very knowledgeable and professional and really took their time to answer our questions and explain the process, equipment, production and monitoring. We have now had the solar up and running for almost 6 months and it is exactly as how Chris described to us. Chris and his crew are awesome and meticulous with installation details . I obtained 9 differing quotes from local small and large solar installation companies. Most of these companies did not come out to look at my home or used a computer program to assess my shade factors. I have 9 large redwoods in my back yard and 3 birches and one large fruitless mulberry in my front yard. All but two of the nine companies stated that I had light shading and could provide over 100% of my needs. Only Chris and another local company told the truth and came out to really look at the shading factor and what sort of system they could provide. I had quotes differing in over $10,000. for lesser quality and powered panels. Chris provided me with the best quote , with the best warranty and panels than any of the larger or smaller companies could/would provide. His crew respected my plants and cleaned up everything and made the installation look really great ( compared to two of my neighbors recent jobs). I am beyond grateful to have found Kingdom Solar! After a nightmare experience with my original solar installer--who left the job unfinished and full of issues--I was stressed and unsure who to trust. Thankfully, Kingdom Solar came to the rescue and completely turned things around. Daniel and Vivian were absolutely incredible from start to finish. They were professional, communicative, and truly knowledgeable. Daniel, the technician, was especially outstanding--he was patient, thorough, and genuinely cared about getting everything working properly, even though it was a complicated mess left by the previous company. He didn't give up until everything was perfect, and it was such a relief to finally feel like I was in good hands. I met Chris after I had talked to 11 different solar companies. He offered me world class equipment at the most competitive price of any company. He gave me no pressure to make a decision on his offer and waited for me to make up my mind. When I finally decided to go w Kingdom Solar, Chris instantly jumped into action and we were able to get the panels installed and working within weeks of agreement. His crew installed the panels quickly over days, leaving no mess behind. Kingdom Solar (Chris) was able to beat my other quotations and still build the system I needed with the same high quality Panasonic panels and inverter technology. Chris was prompt and responsive, and explained all the inverter and storage options to me. He provided an easy-to-understand project plan, illustrating where every panel would go on the roof. We were able to start the project ahead of schedule and Chris fit me in. With a long track record in the business, Chris and his team were dilligent about the installation, going as far as painting the conduit tubes to match the color of the house and roof. Chris P has been in solar installation for years, but only recently got his license and started his own business. Like others who have reviewed him here, I found him prompt and professional and his prices fair. However, 2 other things distinguished him from other contractors. First, he thought of an array pattern that no one else had (5 other bids). As a result, we got more power from 2 planes, than others had proposed with 3. (That's a big deal if you ask me.) Secondly, we just reshingled (cedar) our house and put on a new roof, so we're very concerned with keeping everything looking sharp. He went through extra effort to take care of our concerns, including thoughtful inconspicuous routing of conduit. I recommend Kingdom Solar. No salesmen, no BS. Just talk to Chris. It has been a pleasure working with Chris and his installers. Both he and his installation crew are very knowledgeable and go out of their way to make sure the installation is top notch. I will definitely recommend Kingdom Solar to all my acquaintances and I only recommend companies that meet my rather high standards. One of my pet peeves with companies is the lack of communication. Chris made sure he kept me informed at all times and he stressed that I can contact him at anytime before, during and after installation. I have called him a few times after the installation and he was very friendly and answered my questions with no hesitation. I hired Chris from Kingdom Solar after getting estimates from 4 other solar installers, including some that are most reviewed here on yelp. The reason I hired Kingdom Solar is because Chris was prompt in sending over the estimate, he came out to the house and evaluated what our setup should be, he patiently answered my zillion questions, and he installs Panasonic panels, which are highly rated. The other guys had roughly the same estimate, but they never actually took the time to evaluate my house like Chris or explain it all in the way I wanted. I felt much more comfortable hiring him knowing that there would not be "surprises" as install started. He is super nice and a pleasure to work with, too. Chris and his crew did an excellent job for us, including extra and difficult electrical work which the inspector was very complimentary of. We appreciated his professional and considerate manner and the safety equipment used. The computer program to monitor the panels looks excellent, as I like to keep track of energy production under varying circumstances. We said that we would do the carpentry work associated with the project, and Chris stayed after his job was completed to help my disabled husband with it. We couldn't have asked for more. read more

PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.
