We could not be more delighted with the results we achieved working with the team at Your Energy Solutions. The many moving parts to our residential solar plus battery system, including the various entities, such as PG&E, Tesla, City inspectors, and the financial backers we opted to use all progressed seamlessly and, for us effortlessly, thanks to hard working individuals behind the scenes. In particular, Skyler could not have been more helpful, managing our project and acting as a point of contact. Others included David in sales who demystified the process, Varon who coordinated with the utility to ensure we met all requirements, and Gino, who collaborated with Maxwell Power (formerly HDM Renewable Finance), the clean-energy company that helped finance our residential system. On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. But, I can say that over a period of several months, I had excellent communication with many helpful people. Skyler in customer service was my primary contact and that made all the difference. After a year of dealing with a non-functioning solar system, I finally found the right company to get everything back up and running. I can't say enough good things about the team, especially Andy, Carter, and Manny. From the very beginning, Andy was professional, responsive, and genuinely committed to finding a solution. He took the time to explain what was going on with my older system and walked me through the repair options without any pressure or sales tactics. Carter and Manny handled the installation schedule and repair work, and their knowledge and experience were immediately obvious. After looking at the reviews for many solar panel installers, the common complaints that I read were usually the lack of responsiveness and the broken promises so I was careful in selecting a contractor and chose YES for their high Yelp rating, but, I have to say they are no different than the others. I initially went with Tesla because they quoted the lowest price (by far) but Elon Musk completely swayed me away from them and went with YES despite a ~15% higher quote (though I had to use Tesla's batteries). I started the process 2nd week of January 2025. I will not mention any names here. The salesperson at the time was very responsive and answered all questions and negotiations (yes, negotiate all contract proposals!) professionally. He said that there weren't many projects on their pipeline so they could work on mine immediately and the entire estimated project from start to completion, including permits, should take approximately 6 weeks. OK, in my mind, I would give it 2 - 2.5 months just to give a more realistic cushion. The moment I signed the contract, everything changed. I was initially assigned a project manager who was just ignoring my messages and calls. The scheduled initial work had to be rescheduled 3 times. The first time, they just did not show up, no call, no message. I had to contact the project management multiple times because I took time off from work and no answer, no apology. Finally got a message back a week later saying we need to find another time. Second time, unfortunately was canceled again because the lead installer was sick, messaged the morning of, another day I had to take time off that was wasted, but I understand getting sick can't be scheduled. The third time yet another no show and I got really sick of it. I called the sales person who I talked to in the beginning and he assigned me a new project manager. So we finally got the work started 3rd week of February. Then more problems... The installer damaged my roof and rain water got into my ceiling. I called to complain and they sent someone to put a tarp on my roof. They said they need to find the tiles to match my roof and would get back to it. Every week I had to call or send them messages and they didn't fix the roof. Finally, after 6 weeks having blue tarp on my roof, someone came over to fix it! That's not all. The batteries did not work. Tesla app keeps saying it's calibrating up to 48 hrs. After 6 days of calibrating, I called YES and they did remote diagnosis and sent someone the following week to check. He looked at the installation and then grumbled to me that the installer did not install the batteries correctly. Then I had to wait another week to have another person come to fix the installation and then he had to be on call with Tesla agent for over 4 hours to have it diagnosed. This last technician was good, polite and patient. He was at my house for almost 6 hours to just fix the battery problem. And it's not done yet. The installation did NOT pass city inspection! The hookup to PG&E power meter was not up to code and another 3 weeks needed to get it fixed and another city inspection scheduled. Mind you, you cannot have the system turned on until you get the final inspection done. It was finally finished late May. Everything from contract signing to system being turned on took 4.5 months. At least, everything since was running well and my monthly electric bill went from ~$650 to just $80. For the final result, I give them 2 more stars. But based on their lack of responsiveness, I have doubts whether they would answer my calls if there were ever any problem down the line. read more

They installed our sola panel system. It was a great price point, installed well and in just a few hours in one day. The solar panels came with a 10 year warranty, GREAT! The problem is the company does not honor their service and delay answering until repeated calls. Finally after 2 months they schedule a tech to come and assess the situation. the appointment is delayed for weeks. Two panels and micro converters need replaced. It's been two months. Predatory pricing, incompetent technicians, and zero accountabilityI had a completely unacceptable experience with Energy Solutions. Our brand-new Fronius solar inverter was experiencing an error, and the company sent out a technician who had absolutely no knowledge of how to service or diagnose a Fronius system. Instead of performing a proper diagnostic check, the technician offered nothing but unhelpful guesswork--claiming the inverter was "old" (even though it was recently replaced by their own company), speculating about a short circuit, and telling me my solar panels were just dirty.For this complete lack of service, Energy Solutions extracted an outrageous $900 fee. They provided absolutely no diagnostic report, no paperwork, and no follow-up on how to actually resolve the issue. read more

This took a long time to write. After doing a year long renovation, I feel strongly that good and bad contractor should be called out to help all of us. From the very beginning of talking to my sales representative, Nic Short(Your Energy Solutions), I told him I was only interested in installing the solar system if I could get the federal tax credit for 2024. I needed the tax credit to offset a 2024 capital gain. Mr Short continuously reassured me that this would be done. I was insistent, and said that I would only sign if an addendum was in the contract that installation would be competed in 2024. I have all the documentation to back this up. 4 weeks after signing the contract(mid November) nothing had yet been done to advance the project on site and I expressed my concern that the end of the year with holidays and rain season were fast approaching. Again I was reassured by both Nic Short as well as Jessica(my PM) that everything was on track and that installation would be done in 2024. I again expressed my concern that time was running low. Jessica reassured me that many people did not want installation on Dec 26 and 27 so that could be our fall back. I again called Nic Short and was reassured that everything was going to be delivered as promised and planned. There were other problems with the integrity of the process. At the very last minute they told me that a new electrical sub panel needed to be installed at additional cost. On December 18th, I received an email from Jessica that they were not able to install in 2024 but they had a way for me to get the tax credit by paying in advance for the entire system($56,545) and having the equipment delivered uninstalled.(23 panels, 3 batteries, and whatever else equipment that comes with the installation). I immediately called Nic Short and he agreed that this was not what we discussed. I sent an email to Mr Short the next morning @7:52AM telling him that YES had broken their promise and contract with me. I noted that the regulation says to get the tax credit, the system has to be installed. Jessica's email was misinformation. I asked Mr. Short to send me whatever is necessary to void this contract and refund my $1000. I wrote again asking the same request on Jan 2 and never heard from him. Then I wrote Jessica on Jan 6 asking the same request and never heard from her. I feel like the company deceived me into believing they could deliver and install the equipment that would give me the 2024 tax credit and broke the agreement that the installation happen in 2024. Also I had many emails and calls with Jessica expressing my anxiety that the project was not on track to be installed in 2024. She kept reassuring me that it would be. I reported the company to the CSLB(Contractors State Licensing Board). Seems to me as soon as I filed the complaint, the GM called me to figure out how I could get my $1000 reimbursed. The CSLB also issued "disciplinary actions for misrepresentation for the fact that they kept telling you the project was going to be completed before the end of the year" I lost $20,000 to federal taxes. Also my new company, Sunwise Solar Solutions installed a better system with 2 batteries instead of 3. I feel like I was upsold and lied to through at least the second half of this process. While the experience has been frustrating, my previous positive history with them matters. Based on that overall track record -- and their recent efforts to correct the situation -- I'm giving them another chance and updating this review to 4 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been a YES customer since 2020. They installed my original system that year and completed upgrades in 2022 and 2024. In all three projects, communication was responsive, installations were smooth, and the service was professional. Based on those experiences alone, I would have confidently given them 5 stars. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been different. In early October, after upgrading several appliances to electric, I reached out for a quote to add 4-5 additional panels -- a relatively small expansion. I didn't hear back for over a week and had to follow up. When I finally connected with a new sales representative, I was told they were extremely busy due to expiring tax credits and likely couldn't take on my project until early 2026. I responded asking to be placed on the calendar for 2026 but never received a reply. I followed up again in mid-February and was told I would hear back shortly. Several days passed without any update. My frustration has been less about the delay itself and more about the lack of communication and follow-through. As a long-time customer who has invested significantly in my system with YES, I expected clearer updates -- even if the answer was simply that they couldn't take on additional work right now. I would have wholeheartedly recommended YES based on my earlier experiences. I hope they are able to restore the level of responsiveness that originally earned my trust. read more

I had a complicated battery install, to move circuits to a new main panel and install a Franklin battery and A Gate. I work in the power systems industry and had lots of technical questions and inputs on the design. My installer, Manny Rios, was deeply technical and knowledgeable about the systems he installed. When he didn't know the answer he knew where to get the information and didn't try to hand waive past the topic. They asked what they could do to regain trust. I suggested a practical solution, expanding my PV system within the limits to avoid a complex new permitting process. Within a week of our discussion, they had already processed a contract for 3 new panels and Enphase microinverters. The transition from the scheduling phase to the actual installation was remarkably quick. Throughout the following weeks, Carter was highly responsive, coordinating the final details to ensure everything stayed on track. True to their word, they completed the installation just a few weeks later. Not only did they provide a very fair deal on the hardware and a quick design turnaround, but they also included a new energy guarantee for the expanded system. Another plus to going with YES is that Praveen also has solar and he lives locally. Praveen is very knowledgeable and super super honest which is rare in sales!! In late 2023, Praveen helped designed our solar plans according to our needs and usage! The system was so accurately designed that with our annual true up, we paid $60 in 2024 ( $5/month enabling savings of approx. $4,500 in 2024) After an all this time, we are still in contact with Praveen whenever we have questions or concerns. I have been with Your Energy Solutions for years now and they have always come through when I needed them. Y.E.S. is fitting too! I have a complete solar panel/batteries system so basically get almost all of my electrical for free! There have been some glitches on the hardware and software but nothing that keep my little photons from doing their work. Now the reason for that is their super work force. All the employees I have dealt with have been professional and dedicated. I could not force one of them to leave and come back on a problem he was working on late one day to get him through our horrendous traffic out to the Valley. Sales process was great! The quote and the work involved around it was awesome and the team did a great job. What is killing me right now is the fact that the service post-sale is awful. My Gateway has been down for nearly 3 months and I have tried, without any success, to get it back and connected. I have called more times than I can count. I have sent at minimal 15 emails. I even talked to someone today and provided the case number to them to replace my Gateway and they said they couldn't find it or figure out what is going on. While I love my sales process Paul was excellent to work with overall and provided a great solution for my needs. The roof was competitively priced compared to other roofers with higher quality 50 year shingles. We worked with YES on our roof replacement and solar installation at the end of 2025. We did a lot of research and spoke with over 10 solar vendors before choosing YES for our project. Their offer was very competitive. Angle was our project coordinator. He was very responsive, knowledgeable, and provided many valuable suggestions throughout the process. We were very happy with his support from start to finish. Our roof underlayment was nearing the end of its lifespan and needed to be replaced before installing the solar panels. YES has their own in-house roofing team, so there was no need to outsource the work to a 3rd party vendor. This greatly simplified warranty responsibility for the entire project. The whole project went very smoothly. The battery and wiring work took 1 day. The roof replacement took 4 days due to the size of our roof--special thanks to Adolfo's roofing team for being efficient and professional. The solar panel installation took 2 days. I had this company install solar on my townhouse roof about six months ago. The first two years I've done a lot of research into local solar companies and a neighbor one street over had this company install solar and they were very happy! To keep this brief short, I did have this company install solar panels and a Tesla battery and I'm very pleased from the start of the process to the end. The neighbors that recommended this company just came through and gave a check for $500 referral. The employees that I would like to mention were very professional on some questions and issues we ran into, but everything is good now very pleased. I do have an electric vehicle and it is nice using the energy from the sun to charge my car and run my household! so I'd like to mention some of the employees that were very professional and we're always there for my questions or issues and that would be Andy Yi, Angel, Aaron, David the electrician, Daniel and Carter! The crew that came out in one day to set everything up was the head guy Jonathan, and did not get the names of his crew. They were all very good! Very please! BTW dealing with my HOA was a joke! I was nervous and a bit overwhelmed about replacing my roof because I have solar panels. Your Energy Solutions (YES) guided me every step of the way. The roofing materials are top notch and California Code compliant - my home has never looked better and my system has never produced more power. Franki had engineers review my site they came back with a new layout which produces more power than the original layout which was done by another solar company in Walnut Creek. I'm a confirmed YES customer and so glad I switched from the previous installers. YES uses Premium materials for Solar and for Roofing. I thought it would take weeks to do the roof, remove and reinstall the solar panels. To my amazement this was done in six days! The Crews worked well together, a well oiled machine, and the timing was flawlessly executed thanks to Angel. Prompt response the very first time, but later fell off in spite of me filling in the details at their website thru the link provided by them, on a timely basis. Took them two days to get back on it, with a emailed quote, rather than somebody calling and talking to me to understand my project !! And the quote seemed to be highly over rated, requiring much more than what I would need for my electric usage. this is not what you call "design" of a system, but someone just pulling out some random numbers and giving a quote Requested to talk with the person who gave me the quote, by responding on email. I am updating my review after the owner, Geno Gitas, reached out and offered to make things right by fixing the issue that had been plaguing us for 8 months, and doing so quickly and free of charge. By that time, I had written YES off and had scheduled an appointment with another contractor, but decided to give them another shot and I am glad I did. YES came out 3 more times debugging the issue (fault errors with no visible cause), and ended up removing and rewiring all panels, and replacing our 10-year-old racking system as a precaution -- all free of charge! It turned out 3 of the panels were not working properly but they were able to bypass them and restore service with the rest. This was 5 star service but since I still have some PTSD from the prior experience, I'll leave this at 4 stars. I really appreciated the intervention from Geno, though, and the follow through -- YES has re-earned my trust to consider them for future projects. read more
