Truly Exceptional Service from Start to Finish and Beyond! Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions absolutely deserves the praise. I found them while researching solar installers certified to work with Powerwall 3 systems, and I was impressed by the fact that every review they had on Yelp was five stars and they don't even pay for Yelp advertising. That alone caught my attention. I reached out through their website in late July last year and got a reply within 24 hours. That level of responsiveness continued through the entire process. Alessandro was my initial contact. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Even though I was still shopping around (including talking to Tesla and another local solar company), Sunlight gave me the best price and fastest timeline. No sales pressure, just honest communication. Originally, I just wanted two Powerwalls added to my existing solar setup, but eventually decided to include a SPAN smart panel as well. They recommended only installing one battery but to me that wouldn't have been cost effective if later on down the line I were to add a second battery. (Looking at it now, I could have probably added a 3rd battery for the amount of storage that would generate this Summer). Their pricing remained competitive even with the upgrade, and they were very transparent when it came to costs and tradeoffs. Alessandro handled a lot of the coordination through text and email, which made things super convenient. He was available late in the evening and even some weekends. Carlos, who leads operations, came for a second check and planned out the installation in detail, including how to meet the city's strict code requiring a heat sensor tied to a smoke alarm near the batteries. His clever routing minimized wall damage and kept everything tidy. The full installation was completed in about 6 weeks, including city inspection. PG&E's approval was the only bottleneck, but even during that waiting period, Carlos stayed in touch with weekly updates. Installation was handled by Isaac and his team, and they did a fantastic job, which consisted of clean wiring, attention to detail, and they even impressed the city inspector with some above-and-beyond touches like the dual outdoor shut-off boxes. Even more impressive was the post-install support. A few weeks later, after a SPAN firmware update caused communication issues with the Powerwalls, Carlos worked directly with SPAN customer service behind the scenes to resolve the problem. It took some time, but he stayed on top of it and only looped me in when absolutely necessary. That kind of follow-through is rare. I also had them replace my NEMA plug with a Tesla Wall Connector later on. There was a mix-up with the unit (a non-Tesla version was initially installed), but Carlos made it right immediately. He issued a refund and sent Isaac back out quickly to swap it, no delay, no excuses. What really sets Sunlight Electri-Cal apart is how they treat you after the job is done. They don't disappear once the check clears. Their communication is fast, clear, and consistent. It truly feels like they treat you like a long-term customer and not just a job ticket. I've dealt with other companies that go dark once the work is done, where getting a reply is like pulling teeth. Not here. These guys operate like a small, tight-knit team that cares about doing right by their customers. Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions exceeded my expectations. I'll continue to use them for future electrical and solar work and recommend them without hesitation. They earned every bit of their 5-star rating.

We are so glad we chose to work with Sunlight Electri-Cal for our solar + Tesla powerwall install in San Ramon. We had talked to a total of 8 solar companies before deciding to go with Sunlight. I tend to ask a lot of questions to try to learn as much as possible before signing anything. Going solar is not cheap so I wanted to make sure I understood exactly what is being installed, how things are wired, and at what cost. Alessandro, who was our initial contact, was so helpful and patient with my questioning. One thing that stood out was his willingness to come in person for the initial consult when increasingly other companies seem to only do virtual Zoom sales pitches. I've also had other company reps straight up get annoyed and tell me that they are the professionals and that I am not, when I am only trying to learn! Working with Sunlight Electri-Cal was exactly the opposite. I really appreciated that Alessandro and Carlos understood my needs and were incredibly patient, professional, and never rushed through any of the our meetings. After a few weeks, Carlos and his team scheduled a few days for the install and the whole process was incredibly smooth. They took care of all of the prep work including city inspections, PG&E PTO application and kept me in the loop every step of the way. It was very exciting to watch the team work as the project came together. They were also accomodating to some last minute change orders that I had, and went the extra mile to wire up a subpanel and install an a 14-50 outlet for EV charging. Everything was wired perfectly to code and installed super cleanly. Whenever I go into my garage, I still admire their handiwork! I couldn't have been happier with the level of professionalism, service, and end result that they were able to pull off for us.

Not only did they offer high-quality equipment and strong expertise, but their pricing was highly competitive and well below several of the other bids we received, which immediately caught our attention. Like many homeowners in California, we were trying to get our solar and Enphase backup battery installed before the end-of-2025 rebate deadlines. Sierra was absolutely slammed with new contracts at the time, yet they still worked incredibly hard to try to get us online before the cutoff. Unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans and some inclement weather delayed the final steps, but we genuinely appreciated that the company prioritizes safety for their crews rather than rushing risky work. That actually gave us even more confidence in the company. From the very first conversation through final activation, the entire process was smooth, organized, and professional. Every person we interacted with was knowledgeable, responsive, and clearly cared about doing the job right. Francis was our initial point of contact and helped us scope the project and walk through multiple system options and pricing. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient while we evaluated what made the most sense for our home. Alex, our lead project manager, was fantastic throughout the process. He was always quick to respond to emails and texts, answered every question we had, and took the time to educate us on how the system works so we felt confident using it. Carlos and Francisco handled the installation and did an outstanding job. They were professional, skilled, and communicative, and the installation itself was impressively efficient and clean. Blair helped bring the system online and walked us through the hardware components and operation once everything was up and running. And behind the scenes, Symone and Gianna in client care and administration kept everything organized and communicated updates promptly, which made the whole process feel seamless. Overall, the experience was excellent from start to finish. High-quality equipment, a skilled team, and outstanding communication every step of the way. We're extremely happy with our solar and battery system and would absolutely recommend Sierra Roofing & Solar to anyone considering going solar.

Greatly appreciated since this was a rental property, the Sierra team would check in with renters every morning. The site was left spotless each night. The team was extremely competent. I particularly appreciated Foreman Carlos Padilla checking in every day. He was exceptional. The Solar re-installation proved problematic, but Technician Francisco Roblebdo stayed on top of the situation. If I could give 10 stars, I would give them to Project Manager Alex Padilla. He invested hours of labor straightening the derelict work of the original solar installers. We will be forever grateful. Also, Giana Young in the office should be recognized for great customer service on the phone! Sierra Roofing and Solar is a top-notch roofing and solar company! I would recommend them not only for price, but you can definitely see in the work they produce that they care about the job and are true professionals.

Clean Solar - Beautiful solar install on clay roof

Clean Solar

(477 reviews)

North San Jose

Unreservedly recommend Clean Solar!…read more Had PV Solar installed when the house was built in 2006. Under our existing rate plan (time-of-use, meaning pay high rates 4-9 pm and low rates the rest of the time), and metering agreement (NEMS 2.0), we were selling more electricity (in $ terms) than we were using. However, we will be forced to switch to the new metering agreement (NEMS 3.0) in late 2026, which drastically cuts how much PG&E pays us for electricity we sell to them--we will end up paying money to PG&E. This motivated me to consider installing a whole-house battery storage system to do "rate shifting"--store the excess electricity generated by our PV system in the morning and early afternoon to power the house during the high rate period (4-9 pm). And of course provides energy in the event of a power outage. I also wanted to take advantage of the energy tax credit before it expires at the end of the year. Reading reviews on Yelp, Google, and other sites, I decided to contact Clean Solar along with 3 other companies. Clean Solar was the first to respond and I had a thorough conversation with a Senior Design Analyst, Art Balaoro. He listened and understood my goals, answered my (many) questions and said he would get back to me with options in a few days. Of the other 3 companies, 2 never responded to my inquiry at all! The other one did, but I had to repeatedly reach out to them to make any progress on getting a quote. In contrast, Art did as he said and responded within a week with several options, primarily around which battery vendor to go with (Tesla vs. Franklin, I preferred the latter) and the battery location. Clean Solar scheduled a technician to come out and look at our house: location and configuration of the main panel, possible battery locations, where the existing PV inverter was, etc. Took a lot of photographs and measurements to verify compliance with building codes. In contrast, the other vendor was sluggish to schedule someone to visit, so I ended up sending them photos and measurements from the Clean Solar visit. Because of the peculiarities of my house's main panel, it was going to be more difficult (and expensive) to install the Franklin battery. And although I would have preferred to put the battery inside my garage, building codes would have required a replacement of the entire smoke alarm system throughout the house, also adding significant expense. Art walked me through these issues thoroughly and so I went with the recommended (and cheaper) option, going with the Powerwall and an outside location. In contrast, the other vendor didn't do as thorough an analysis and wasn't aware of these issues until I pointed them out. When I did get a comparable quote from them (exact same system components), it was slightly more expensive than the Clean Solar quote. I started this process in June, and immediately Art said it was going to be a close thing to finish the project before the end of the year--so many people were wanting to install solar or battery projects and claim the tax credit. Art also walked me through the timeline for the whole process and how it would be managed on their end. Based on the interactions I had with him and others, I felt that Clean Solar was the best choice for my project--and my experience bore that out.

We needed to add panels because we purchase an EV and needed more solar to offset PG&E. The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. Seamless is what you'll experience with them. Until next time Clean Solar!

I also replaced my gas furnace with a heat pump, so our electric needs are significant. A new roof with complete tear off and new plywood is a big project. I started by getting a quote from Solar City but they weren't able to coordinate with a roofer. Their leasing agreement (aka PPA) also had some provisions that seemed pretty predatory. I don't remember if Solar Sesame cold called me or I called them, but I do remember that Marcel did a great job of explaining the process. I'm pretty knowledgeable about these kind of projects so I asked somre very detailed questions. When he wasn't able to answer them immediately, he didn't front, he just said he didn't know and called the office for better info. That's the best response. I was a little concerned that Solar Sesame used an outsourced the roofing to a vendor. But given the time constraints, that was a good decision. Also, the vendor they chose, Arts Roofing, was a joy to work with. They communicated well, and when there was a small problem, they handled it professionally and entirely to my satisfaction. The solar panels went up super fast and well. They system was generating power the as soon as the installers were done. Unfortunately, PGE took their sweet time getting the final inspection done. So PGE got some free kwh from the system. On the good side, we didn't start paying for the system until after PGE did the final turn on, so no problem for us. I monitor the system via the PGE site as well as the Tesla app. Those two systems match up perfectly so I am happy with the amount of power being created and sold back to PGE. Also, we had a short power outage in our neighborhood, and it didn't impact us at all. The only reason I knew about it was that PGE alerted us via text. I looked out my window and noticed that none of my neighbors had their lights on. Between Marcel (sales) and Mei (project management), I'm very happy with the end result and the process on this large residential project.

SolarSesame was supposed to schedule the final PG&E inspection in March. They never bothered to try. I ended up having to schedule that myself because SolarSesame wouldn't. PG&E was here today, because I called to schedule the inspections that were SolarSesame's responsibility. PG&E indicated that the system would likely be failed and that more work would be required. 3. I had to demand that SolarSesame and GoodLeap stop calling me because they lied constantly.
