I've been working on a non-standard solar setup using an EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra X and EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 3, and finding a contractor who truly understood this type of system was incredibly difficult. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. I actually first contacted Sunlight Electri-Cal very early on this year, in April. I had closed on a new home but knew we would want to get solar installed. Juan was very responsive and came out to take a look at our home right away. What I loved about Juan and his team is they are NOT sales people, they're real engineers who are focused on solving your problems and meeting your needs. Juan and his team are true solar experts and know exactly what they are doing - they were great at walking me through key details I should know about the system, how to best take advantage of having a solar system, and did their best to get me scheduled (in spite of multiple difficulties) for installation before the end of the year. Just for context, I've talked to another solar company where clearly they were just about trying to close the deal and sell sell sell, which really turned me off - it felt like they just wanted our money as opposed to wanting to understand what we really needed. Juan's team really shined here by just showing up to be real experts who are thoughtful about what system you need, as opposed to trying to close a deal. Juan and his team were also really patient and flexible. Our new home's solar system had to be turned on before we could start any work, and that process took months due to Sunnova going bankrupt. Truly Exceptional Service from Start to Finish and Beyond! Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions absolutely deserves the praise. I found them while researching solar installers certified to work with Powerwall 3 systems, and I was impressed by the fact that every review they had on Yelp was five stars and they don't even pay for Yelp advertising. That alone caught my attention. I reached out through their website in late July last year and got a reply within 24 hours. That level of responsiveness continued through the entire process. Alessandro was my initial contact. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Even though I was still shopping around (including talking to Tesla and another local solar company), Sunlight gave me the best price and fastest timeline. No sales pressure, just honest communication. Originally, I just wanted two Powerwalls added to my existing solar setup, but eventually decided to include a SPAN smart panel as well. They recommended only installing one battery but to me that wouldn't have been cost effective if later on down the line I were to add a second battery. (Looking at it now, I could have probably added a 3rd battery for the amount of storage that would generate this Summer). Their pricing remained competitive even with the upgrade, and they were very transparent when it came to costs and tradeoffs. Alessandro handled a lot of the coordination through text and email, which made things super convenient. He was available late in the evening and even some weekends. Carlos, who leads operations, came for a second check and planned out the installation in detail, including how to meet the city's strict code requiring a heat sensor tied to a smoke alarm near the batteries. His clever routing minimized wall damage and kept everything tidy. The full installation was completed in about 6 weeks, including city inspection. PG&E's approval was the only bottleneck, but even during that waiting period, Carlos stayed in touch with weekly updates. Installation was handled by Isaac and his team, and they did a fantastic job, which consisted of clean wiring, attention to detail, and they even impressed the city inspector with some above-and-beyond touches like the dual outdoor shut-off boxes. Even more impressive was the post-install support. A few weeks later, after a SPAN firmware update caused communication issues with the Powerwalls, Carlos worked directly with SPAN customer service behind the scenes to resolve the problem. It took some time, but he stayed on top of it and only looped me in when absolutely necessary. That kind of follow-through is rare. I also had them replace my NEMA plug with a Tesla Wall Connector later on. There was a mix-up with the unit (a non-Tesla version was initially installed), but Carlos made it right immediately. He issued a refund and sent Isaac back out quickly to swap it, no delay, no excuses. What really sets Sunlight Electri-Cal apart is how they treat you after the job is done. They don't disappear once the check clears. Their communication is fast, clear, and consistent. It truly feels like they treat you like a long-term customer and not just a job ticket. I've dealt with other companies that go dark once the work is done, where getting a reply is like pulling teeth. Not here. I recommend Sunlight Electrical Solutions. My home solar/battery system was having intermittent issues. The company that installed my solar had gone out of business. The owner of that business recommended Sunlight Electrical to fix my system. I spoke with Carlos at Sunlight. He sent out Isaac who seemed very capable. Isaac's assessment was that my system had multiple wiring issues and recommended a service that would require a larger team to complete. He explained why, and I concurred with Isaac's recommendation. Carlos scheduled a larger team to come out the next week. They were led by Jesus, who also seemed quite knowledgeable. Jesus and his team worked diligently for 4 hours. They found more wiring errors as Isaac has predicted. And they found a damaged Tesla MC2 unit on the roof which had cracked. After they completed their repairs, the system started operating better than it ever had before. I estimate that I am now getting an extra 10-15% more power from the solar panels. In addition to providing capable technicians, I really appreciate that Sunlight is so easy to work with. I asked several highly technical questions and always got thoughtful answers. We are so glad we chose to work with Sunlight Electri-Cal for our solar + Tesla powerwall install in San Ramon. We had talked to a total of 8 solar companies before deciding to go with Sunlight. I tend to ask a lot of questions to try to learn as much as possible before signing anything. Sunlight repaired my 12-yr Enphase uInverter system after the original installer folded.   Sunlight was fast and fair on their roll and labor costs and had a very good response time. The crew turned up in their alloted hour.  They were up on the roof straight away and isolated the problem within the hour.  The tech gave me a clear explanation of the faulty components and the remedy.  He had the components in his truck and replaced it there and then.   My system was quickly fully functional, with 24 panels producing full. power. After years of putting off getting a Solar system we decided with all the rising cost of electricity it was time. I had gotten four estimates from different companies and Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was the company we chose to install our system. We set up our appointment in September 2024 and Alessandro came out to our home and help create the system for our needs based on our last 12 months with our PG&E bill. Once we came up with a system that included both solar panels and home battery (Tesla) system they had Carlos come out and design the system to draw up for the city permitting for approval. Once the permit was approved, we were scheduled for installation within a couple of weeks. I can't stress enough the crew that came out was very professional, efficient and topnotch workers. When completed they cleaned up the whole area and also painted the conduit with our paint that we had. Alessandro had given us about a 2-month window for completion and waiting for permits is the biggest hold up. After the work was completed, they scheduled for the final inspection which was about two weeks, and we activated the system in mid-December. Carlos had me download the (Tesla app) on my phone and went through how to navigate to track my system which is nice to be able to check day & night. After the system was installed and running for a couple months, I contacted Carlos & Alessandro to check the cost of adding an additional Tesla battery that Carlos and I had talked about during the installation. I feel this will really pay for itself have twice the battery storage especially during the summertime when the AC is needed. If you are considering installing a Solar system on your house, I would highly recommend contacting Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions to come out and give you a quote. They were awesome taking care of all the scheduling and permitting for the project. They were both helpful during the whole time and promptly answered any of my questions when I called them. Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions did a fantastic job on our solar install. We were specifically looking for a battery solution and solar became a natural addition as we did our research. They were one of the first companies we talked with and Juan actually spent about 2 hrs answering all my initial Solar 101 questions before even making a site visit. After interviewing and receiving bids from over 11 companies, we decided to go with Sunlight due to their hands-on expertise and in-house installation team focus. We loved that it was the actual team members making the installation. It was actually Juan on the roof doing our initial measurements, Carlos on some of our install dates, and Issac on all install days. Their pricing was in the middle of the range, and we felt a bit more reassured with their additional offering of Solar Insure on the install. We did have a few challenges with the battery mount review process (a failed inspection due to a screw being flagged by a reviewer) and paperwork issues with PGE, but overall it was a purposeful step-by-step process to install and deploy. While the system was active, we already endured through about 2 large black outs all without any issue. We didn't even know a black out existed until we looked outside and saw that we were the only house with lights on. Overall installation took 2 days for panels and system, without battery. Waiting for San Jose inspection on battery mount which took 2 separate days due to the failed first inspection. Then final inspection. The entire duration during this part of the project (agreement sign to final inspection) took 11 weeks. The time it took from final inspection to PGE finally issuing PTO was 12 weeks. So overall timing from start to end of this project was a long 23 weeks. We wish it could have been quicker, especially with PGE, but that was out of our control. I can not tell you how thankful we are to have found these guys! Story time: I realized my solar panels were not working when I received over a $5k PG&E true up bill! Apparently my solar had not been work for practically the entire year! I then tried to call the solar company that installed them and come to find out they went out of business and ultimately filed bankruptcy. From there I tried calling the app that tells me my solar is on, out, usage, etc - SolarEdge - no response and I called MANY times and sent emails etc and nothing. So I figured my warranty of any kind was just a wash. I started to call around many other Solar places and no one seemed to be "taking on new clients". Basically if you were not going to be sold or install new solar panels then don't waste their time. I finally found these guys and everything was absolutely seamless! From the first call I got a live person on the phone that stayed on from start to finish and was able to get me on the schedule for NEXT DAY!!! So the next day the tech comes by at the exact time he said he would! Another big score! Yes! Awesome! He takes a look and states my inverter is out and not only that it blew out the wireless receiver part that communicates to the solar edge app so that's why I was not notified it went out. He provided options and we went with a replacement under warranty. He sat on the phone with solaredge and filed a claim on our behalf to get a brand new inverter and we would only have to take care of the install cost. We agreed and the new inverter came in a couple weeks he installed it perfectly then a few weeks later the wireless antenna for the communication to the app was installed. My install went very smoothly in August 2025. The team took two days to install 18 panels and 2 Tesla Power Wall 3 batteries. One thing the team did particularly well was to ensure that the iron ridge solar panel brackets were installed properly including use of a special "rain buster" silicone under the lag bolts/bracket, and use of flashing with roof mastic to cover the brackets. I had a new roof put in a couple years ago so was sensitive to any work on the rooof. Electri-cal came in slightly higher than my second choice, a Livermore based, family run company. My instinct however was to go with Electri-cal and boy, was that a good move. My neighbor went with the Livermore guys to save a few bucks and I could see (using binoculars) that all they did was smear some roof mastic under the brackets and slam them in. The guys were in a hurry, surly, and did my neighbor a disservice. So, if you in the market for solar, I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They took the time to install it right, answer all my questions, and were fast and thorough. Quality service and integrity are hard to find, so save yourself some heartburn and call these guys (as well as avoid the Livermore company "Sy...."). You will not regret it. read more

Guided by CALIFORNIA SOLAR CONSUMER PROTECTION GUIDE, we selected five solar companies to compare their design proposals and service qualities. Out of all five, two companies sent staff to our home for in-person measurement, including Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions (SECS). The other three companies required us to sign a contract before coming in-person. Also, only SECS came to discuss the design proposals in person. SECS's Co-owner Juan presented to us all design options, product and warranty info, and their past experiences with well-known products in the market. Also, he explained the reason why micro-inverters work more efficiently than a single inverter, which has lower energy output, high failure rate, and more susceptible to heat stress. We trust that Juan offered the best designs and product choices to meet our home's current and future needs. Our solar and battery system has been up running for a few weeks. Everything works well. The system already sustained us during an unplanned power outage under PG&E. Everyday, we use the phone apps to monitor the panels and battery. We can see that our solar panels charge the battery fully and cover about 97% of our electricity usage. The extra energy now feeds back to the grid, but will charge our EV in the future. We really appreciate the team at Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions for completing the installation within two days, arriving early to prepare and pass the city's inspection without issues, finishing up all paperwork for product warranties and Permission-To-Operation Interconnection application, and responding to our questions and requests timely. read more

We have a broken inverter and unfortunately the warranty expired too. I did some research online, and tried a few other solar companies before I reached sunlight electric-cal company. But all of them didn't go well. Have to say, Sunlight electrical-cal ended my nightmare experience with the solar inverter. It took a while to finally get work done because they need to do some research to find the right model etc. Their employees are responsive and on time. Their price is reasonable. Carlos and Juan came by for initial diagnosis of inverter not outputting power to the grid. It was due to the failed inverter and since it's out of warranty, Carlos researched and provided info on replacement inverter. By the following week, Carlos installed the replacement inverter and generating power again to the grid. Pretty prompt with response and installation of replacements, and no upsell of unnecessary work. I recommend them for anyone who may have inverter issue and not looking to be contacted by a salesmen trying to sell a new installlation. read more
