Great Fix for the Builder Installed EV Outlet Issue! Our builder-installed EV charging port ran into major functional Issue of heating and ultimately the wiring inside melted due to loose wiring and needed urgent repair. I contacted Nabu Energy since they are the Licensed Electrical Contractors, I was recommended by a friend from my community. They Technician arrived on time , he quickly diagnosed the faulty wiring setup from the original build, he changed the charging port/plug and wired it properly, and took the time to completely test everything before leaving. Building a custom home in the Bay Area taught me a lot. The city of Hayward refused to release my electric meter until after solar was installed. I contacted multiple companies and after getting pricing and information I decided to move forward with Nabu. I liked that they do not work on commission which allowed their price to be $10k lower than the others for the same products. The most important part to me was the service. I needed everything ASAP to keep construction on track and they jumped through so many hoops and maintained communication. I was rushing to get the system installed before the end of the year to get the tax credit before it ended. Nabu had their team at my house on New Years Eve to ensure we met the deadline. They even contacted me after to make sure everything went according to plan and we DID get the tax credit which was $15k! This review is long overdue because I usually prefer to wait for some time before leaving a review. I think that is the fairest way to reflect the real experience after actually using the product and service. Nabu Energy installed our solar panels in July 2023, and the installation went well. Their planning and engineering suggestions were very detailed and thoughtful. They paid attention to power consumption, equipment compatibility, and the overall design. What I also appreciated was that they were willing to listen to customer suggestions while still making sure everything complied with city code. In January 2024, we used them again for a solar battery installation, and it has been working flawlessly. The planning, design, and engineering were just as good as the first time. During the battery installation, we realized there was a software configuration issue in the SolarEdge app, and they addressed it right away and fixed it immediately. That showed a lot of professionalism. Sometimes some follow-up was needed, but overall the process was still smooth and they were very willing to cooperate. Then in May 2024, we had Nabu Energy install our EV charging station as well. This one took a bit longer than expected, but it was still completed flawlessly. They also used an industrial-standard NEMA 14-50 plug for a continuous 50-amp circuit, which definitely gave me extra peace of mind. Overall, their service is great. 5 stars, and I'd give more if I could. I came to Nabu Energy on a friend's recommendation for what I thought would be a straightforward solar panel reinstall. Nabu took my project from start to finish and turned a complicated situation into a seamless experience. The wrinkle: my original inverters had been discontinued, which meant a standard reinstall wasn't an option. Rather than pushing me toward a full replacement, The engineering team at Nabu found a way to keep my existing panels -- which were still in great shape -- and upgrade the system to dual Tesla Powerwalls. Price: Nabu's offer has better value vs the other 2 good-review local installers I spoke with. Although slightly higher than a larger regional brand, I still prefer local installers. Services: installation/permit process was overall smooth. Project manager kept me updated. And they were quite reasonable with all my personal, detailed requests during installation. I did have some hiccups on installation appointment and needed reschedule. I called Bhushan, he always took care of it. Product: solar/rec panel is strong in my area and tesla powerwall3 performs as expected. No complaints so far. My tip: consider getting 2 power wall3 batteries if you have the budget and the math of value return works out. My solar often max out battery in daytime and has to export quite some to pg&e. Know-how: from my experience, the owner and sales: Bhushan is quite knowledgeable on their product and offering, this is quite distinctive from all other companies I spoke with. Nabu Energy recently finished my solar energy system. I got 5 quotes for the project and decided to go with them due to their competitive pricing and responsiveness from their sales side. Their scheduling was pretty prompt and their crew came out to do a site visit pretty quickly. Afterwards we had a design meeting where they addressed my concerns and did their best to get the number of panels I wanted for my roof. I did my own research and requested different panels to what was in the quote as well as critterguards and they were able to accommodate me. The installation went pretty smoothly and although there were some hiccups (most projects have some) Nabu has helped to address them or are in the process of doing so. It's an added bonus that their installation crew is also all in house and the ones I spoke to were all very nice and accommodating. I've read some horror stories on reddit about solar installation and how some installers take months and months to get things rolling so it was nice that Nabu was so prompt and ready to go. I got a 7.6 kW system installed in 2022 and I'm coming back to them in 2025 to add a bit more (my energy use has changed). I signed the contract in September and was online with PGE in October. The roof rails are great, install is great with no leaks or problems in 3.5 years. My SolarEdge inverter had some issues at the outset (known issues with SolarEdge) and Nabu filed all of the warranty info for me and got it fixed right away. We had Nabu install a 2 powerwall and 15kWh system about 8 months ago. We went with Nabu because they had extremely competitive pricing and also seem to have an engineering focus. Nabu went into good technical details about the system and the recommended solution. Once we approved it, they went to work designing it and getting us to approve the design. Note that although the install teams are in the US, all their other backend services are in India which is sometimes a bit weird (you have a Zoom call to go over the design and they are all with their cameras off). For the install itself, the crews here are fantastic. Super nice and knowledgeable. They work hard and are very efficient. Again here, the only downside is that the crews are not supposed to tell you anything or know anything. You have to go through " their office " which is in India and so only around from 6 to 1pm or so. That part was definitely the most annoying one because the only people you can talk to in person don't tell you anything (not even things like when they will be back). I gave them the suggestion of having the project manager stateside for a better customer experience. They installed very quickly and fixed all the broken tiles they caused (I have a tile roof). Inspection passed with flying colors and they took care of all the PG&E stuff (that's annoying in its own right but not their fault that PG&E took close to 4 months to get their act together). Two more things I'll add: they are also a bit annoying on payment. They only accept checks and you can't give them to the crew (remember, they are not supposed to know anything). You have to go run it to a bank yourself and deposit it in their account. I get the saving credit card fees but having an ACH website would be nice. Fees are not that high on that. And given that this is quite complicated, on one of the progress payments while they were installing (I had already paid close to half of the total cost), I was busy taking care of them being around installing but they absolutely wanted to be paid then and there. I felt as if they didn't trust that I would pay which was a very bad feeling. In the end they paid my wire transfer fees for me to wire them the funds right away. It was weird and I had never had that happen to me before. Apart from those quirks, the panels work great. They have also continued answering questions (not as fast as I would like at times but they haven't vanished) so I am pretty sure I'll get support if needed. I don't regret my decision to go with them. They may be a bit quirkier than other companies but they do a great job at an amazing price. If you are installing solar, definitely give them a call. read more

I spoke with multiple solar installers and Nabu were the most knowledgeable. Most solar companies I spoke with used the same white-labeled software rebranded to their company in a standard pitch / proposal deck. On the other hand I spent hours on the phone with Nabu really digging into the pros / cons of solar including NEM 3, batteries, ROI, capacity sizing, string vs microinverter, etc. I wanted to learn everything given the relatively large investment and Nabu spent the time with me to explain everything.
