We have had an Enphase solar installation for 10 years now, which has always worked beautifully…read more However, due to regular PG&E outages in our area (Fremont, CA), we decided to add a backup battery to the system. After careful research, we chose Highlight Solar (HS) to handle this installation. We chose the Franklin battery, and Highlight Solar came out to handle the installation in Nov 2025. Sadly, we had some serious issues with the functionality of our solar infrastructure, after the Franklin equipment was installed... the Enphase solar monitoring device (called Envoy) started having trouble communicating with the panels, and therefore would disable them. HS made a couple of different attempts to fix this issue (which was delayed when they went on vacation for a month), so I had to keep cycling the breaker for the panels every morning to get the system working for another day. Fortunately, they were persistent in pursuing the issue, and after returning from vacation in late January, Samir came out and spent a couple of hours on the phone with Enphase support, who suggested a possible solution for this issue. HS then had someone come out to implement Enphase's suggestion, and now my system is working solidly and reliably (Feb 2026). I'm glad HS didn't just give up on us; I'm sure they were just as frustrated as we were by this situation. We certainly didn't expect this to take three months to resolve, but it is working now.

Ali, our salesman, remained patient and communicated thoroughly via email or phone, and at all hours even after we had signed the paperwork. The installation process was honestly better than the sales process. The combination of Chris (the foreman who found a solution for all our requests) and his team which worked in awful weather to get our project installed on schedule were amazing. Our inspection, and final handoff were handled by Samir, who answered even more questions, and made sure we were fully set up. From end to end we had a great experience with Highlight Solar and will recommend them as they were to us. Pro tips: If you get a battery you will need to store it until it is installed. Your solar data might not show up on the app for 24-48 hours after installation...don't panic, it will show up eventually and you will see the money you are not spending with PG&E.

Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. After some back and forth with their customer support, they remotely assessed that the inverter failed and they would install a new one for a reasonable price. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. Jose is an excellent employee and my mom had a great experience working with him.

The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. What I loved about Juan and his team is they are NOT sales people, they're real engineers who are focused on solving your problems and meeting your needs. Juan and his team are true solar experts and know exactly what they are doing - they were great at walking me through key details I should know about the system, how to best take advantage of having a solar system, and did their best to get me scheduled (in spite of multiple difficulties) for installation before the end of the year. Just for context, I've talked to another solar company where clearly they were just about trying to close the deal and sell sell sell, which really turned me off - it felt like they just wanted our money as opposed to wanting to understand what we really needed. Juan's team really shined here by just showing up to be real experts who are thoughtful about what system you need, as opposed to trying to close a deal. Juan and his team were also really patient and flexible. Our new home's solar system had to be turned on before we could start any work, and that process took months due to Sunnova going bankrupt. They did a temporary fix which stopped the leak right away and then followed up to come back and redo the shingles to properly install them as it was not installed correctly by the contractor who installed it initially. They also patched several other spots on the roof and we haven't seen any leaks since even with heavy rainfall. Highly recommend.

The cost for both the 10.1 kW and 12.4 kW systems with two powerwalls each for two properties made complete sense even before applying the 30% tax credit. The tax credit is just a nice icing on the cake. The team was professional. The installation went smoothly. We've already seen the savings and long-term benefits. Can you say all you can run AC in the summer? If you're shopping for solar and want excellent value without any of the usual markups, we highly recommend Nabu. I'm happy to share I referred brother to install solar with Nabu. He was very reluctant, but eventually came around. He got his 10.1 kW system with two powerwalls installed earlier this year so he missed out on the 30% Federal tax credit. However, he's still very happy he did it. You simply cannot go wrong with Nabu Energy and its amazing pricing.

I couldn't be happier with my experience with Solar Sesame…read more My situation was a little more complicated than most because I already had an existing leased solar system under NEM 2 that I wanted to preserve. That meant my new system needed to be designed as a non-export system with battery storage. Before choosing Solar Sesame, I had already received three other quotes. My existing provider kept pushing another leased system where I'd continue paying per use. While it was cheaper than PG&E, it was significantly more expensive over the long run than owning the system myself. Another provider told me they couldn't fit enough panels on my roof to meet my energy needs and recommended much more expensive alternatives. A third provider quoted nearly 40% more than another installer for essentially the same system. Solar Sesame stood out immediately. They designed a system that fit all the panels I needed on my roof, met my energy goals, and came in at the best overall price. They also went above and beyond when the federal tax credit rules were changing. They were able to structure the project in a way that effectively preserved those benefits for me, which I really appreciated. Originally, I planned to install just one Tesla Powerwall. After doing more research, I decided I wanted two. I found a competitive online offer, and without any hassle, Solar Sesame matched it by adding the second battery at a heavily discounted price. Solar Sesame is a brokerage company, they don't install the panels; they work with another company…read morecalled GoodLeap that installs, maintain and owns the solar panels. There is a 3.59% increase annually to a flat rate fee and a connection fee with the quote. After 25 years of this contract, you can choose to buy the panels (by that time, the panels will be 25 years older), but if you'd like to keep the panels, it'll cost a todays estimate of 900-$1200 to maintain annually. When I did the calculations would $327 monthly for electricity. And even with the panels, there is a $15 connectivity fee to connect to the main grid aka PG&E. So the quote I got is unsustainable for what I'm trying to achieve; which is to be independent from PG&E. Because I used only about $30 of electricity and $15 gas, but have to pay $125 delivery fee from PG&E, and it's just gouging for no reason. And the solar sesame quote I got ended up more expensive in the long run than if I stayed with PG&E. I was referred to an actual government run solar panel installation company through a local state and federal program called Grid Alternatives and is looking forward to a quote from them. was told by a clean energy program that I may be able to get solar panels free of charge and get a electric panel upgrade at no charge if I qualify. After meeting with their rep; they were pressuring me to sign at the meeting. Very aggressive. The solar seasame rep said he has been with the company for 10 years; but solar seasame was established in 2021. Maybe I heard this wrong, but there were a lot of questions unanswered; and a lot of confusion on who and what is getting done. They also use the Tesla battery...which I don't want to support. Unfortunately I will not be going with Solar Sesame.

They are a lean team. No huge marketing or operational overhead. His quotes have been some of the best out there and for the quality and service he provides I don't think there is another solar contractor that is better than Aleksei. He is more than happy to accommodate your request but I highly recommend asking his thoughts. I had an existing enphase solar system and he more than doubled the solar capacity and added 2 PW3 all for a fraction of what others quoted. Teodor, our project manager, did a great job assessing our home and specifying the system. The installation crew, Azamat and Val, did excellent, careful work removing the old system, running new ductwork, and installing all the new equipment. The install took about 7 days. Communication was great throughout; scheduling, installation, and permitting all went smoothly.

Fuse came in significantly lower priced than everyone for a superior system. We wanted to add an additional vent on the main floor, and some dampers for a few of the vents and everything went like butter. Lex and Maxat were the nicest people, arrived on time, left at 6pm each day leaving the house clean. It was a 3 day install and they finished on the third day. Beyond what they needed to do, Lex walked through things that would be checked by the inspectors even on work they didn't do (GFCI plugs close to where the old unit was), and walked me through why they did some of the things they did because I was curious. We're 3 days in so far, but the installation experience was great, and the daikin system is cooling the house great (and I can already see from the energy monitoring systems we have, it's so much more efficient!).

I had been wanting to go solar for more than a year, and around late November of last year, Sunvault (Jithender) contacted me. Jithender made me aware of the huge return on investment with solar for my house. Having heard good things about Sunvault, I decided to go ahead. In the end, it was mind boggling to think that the entire work (including design, permitting, installation and coordination of interconnection with PG&E) was done in just three weeks. No wonder that Jithender and his partner were on-site throughout the day during installation, paying attention to details and generally making sure everything is done right and on time. On the strength of the recommendations from coworkers, I only got a single quote for solar: from Sameer and Sunvault. Sameer and team were great to work with. Specific highlights: * Sameer figured out a path forward even though my house had very limited wallspace to use * The electrician went the extra mile and painted the conduits around the installation to match the house * They were fast - done in about two weeks, including a whole new roof And it passed the father-in-law inspection! My father-in-law can quote the NEC (National Electrical Code) by heart and is doing his own DIY solar. He was impressed with how clean the installation was (conduits, routing), the extra grounding rods put in, and the fact that the electrician went ahead and grounded the water heater (which hadn't been grounded before). The one caveat I would call out is that they are solar installers, they're not general contractors. So when I tried to get them to do more (Can't you fix the other subpanel? Can't you fix the gutter?), they carefully pushed back. Sameer was nice enough to bend a little bit, though. read more

He stayed in contact with me, and then came to the house to do an evaluation. From the beginning there was something more human about his approach than my previous experience. He is professional, knowledgable, and an excellent customer service representative. After signing a proposal that was about the same amount of money as the previous one in 2024, we started figuring out delivery and installation. Because the tax credits were expiring, all solar companies had a rush of business. As with any project, there were a few glitches along the way. Ali was always available and able to smooth things to keep the project moving forward. Chris came with his team to install the panels and batteries. They knew what they were doing. I have gone into my attic months later during a big rain storm and there are no roof leaks. After the installation, there was a glitch with the batteries and I still remember Chris and Sam working in the rain, on the phone with the manufacturer until the system was working correctly. Also the previous solar company insisted(at the last minute) that I needed a sub panel for an extra 5K. Sunwise figured out how to install with no extra expense. Ali, Chris, and Sam are owners of the company and that's who I dealt with. All professionals. I can still write any of them and they respond quickly Even though my experience with the previous solar company was awful, things worked out best for me. They are incredibly thorough. For example, when our original REC panels couldn't be sourced due to a production shortage, they quickly pivoted to Maxeon panels. Zach actually came out to measure my roof twice just to guarantee the new layout would fit perfectly, and they recalculated our system's capacity to ensure we got the best setup. A couple of minor issues came up along the way, but this is where their customer service really shined: During installation: A wire was left exposed instead of inside a conduit. When I pointed it out, Zach didn't hesitate--he immediately offered a great alternate solution to run the communication line seamlessly through the crawl space. The rest of the crew's work was impeccable, highly professional, respectful of our property, and finished right on time. Post-installation: A few months later, a communication issue caused the system to stop seeing loads from the main panel. I requested urgent help, and they had a team at my house within one business day. They worked directly with Tesla to get it promptly resolved. The initial install went fine, but trying to get them to honor their contract now has been a nightmare. Bait and Switch: They are suddenly demanding a $3,600 fee for the removal. Even their salesperson admitted this fee was not indicated in our main agreement from 2021, but is now picking apart vague fine print (outside of our contract) to justify it. We have sent the contract over multiple times and asked them to highlight the language where it specifies this charge. Unethical leadership: Leadership is aware of this $3,600 gap, but they don't want to back down. Terrible Customer Service: They are dragging their feet and refusing to coordinate with our roofer, who has been consistently asking for dates to remove the solar. Ignored Emergencies: We explicitly told them we have an active roof leak and asked them to prioritize the removal so we could fix our home. They did not care. Once they finish your initial install, they will abandon you and refuse to give you the time of day. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. If you are looking for solar, be very wary and look elsewhere.

What happened: When I called 'Pacific Edge Electric & Solar' it went into voice mail, but within 2 minutes I got a text message - " we will be calling you in 10 minutes". I was so surprised by their fast response as I tried connected with other companies as well and never got response from them. Adem from Pacific Edge called me in few minutes and he asked me what's the issue. I explained him & he assured me that he will stop by within few hours. Then a representative called me and took the details from me. It was very fast moving service & response from their end. Their services: Adem texted me the time frame when he will be coming. He came & inspect everything max within 15 minutes and found the issue. Fixed it. & he explained me the issue - why it happened & how it needs to be fixed. Also he charged a nominal fee. I was extremely happy with his prompt service starting from responding me. He considered it as priority work & made it done.
