It's been years since Tim was over to install our original system. That's a good thing. It's been working flawlessly for almost 8 years. The Solaredge Inverter went out and TIm and his team were out very quickly to get it fixed. All in all, it took just under 2 weeks to get it all fixed. Super happy with the fast turn around and great service. He also gave me a tip on how to setup ethernet on the inverter so I don't have to pay for the monitoring, which I really appreciate. You know Tim has been in the business for years because he really knew his stuff and I truly appreciate that he works with you right from the start. From initial quote to install and inspections, he's right there all along the way. We started inquiring with solar installers after getting cold called for a lease, and we quickly realized that solar would be great. After reviewing almost a dozen different proposals from companies large and small, we decided to go with Tim and OSullivan Green Solar. We have an almost Eichler style roof, which meant we didn't have an attic and needed the supports to hit the beams and it needed to be right. While we were soliciting solar quotes, many of them didn't know or didn't give us a confident answer on how they would install until we signed, and that was not going to work with us. Tim is different and that's where his experience shines through. He was able to walk through how they would install the supports so that they'd stay in place without anything coming through the shallower beams. That gave us confidence that our install would work well and we weren't going to do a system that our roof couldn't handle. Overall, Tim's quote was right in line with a lot of the other installers and we felt he was very fairly priced given his experience and insight. We've had our system running for several weeks now and it's been awesome. We ended up going with REC solar panels, Enphase, and Franklin WH - all of it easily set up and handled with Tim's help. All in all, the process was quite quick and Tim was very responsive. The longest pull was getting inspections and PGE settled, but the OSullivan team handled it all for us. Update: after Tim installed our solar panels in 2019, we experienced at least 4 power outages with one lasting almost 2 days. We decided to look into battery power to go with the solar panels. Based on our past experience with Tim, our call went to Tim to inquire adding the batteries. He responded quickly and after a site survey and a follow up meeting we had had a contract for the battery installation. Installers met the battery delivery truck and started in the installation right away. The installers excellent. They were very neat and answered all my questions. The installation looks great. After the installation was complete, Tim was there to bring the batteries on line and show me how to use the FranklinWH app. We are very happy with the whole battery backup installation experience. Written February 26, 2022 --- Long over due review. My installation was in October 2021. Tim was very, very patient with all of my questions. I did a lot of research prior to contacting my roofer who installed my metal roof; and had 5 other companies provide me with bids including installation plans. All other solar panel system installers wanted to remove part of my metal roof, install a flat roof of some kind, and then mount the solar panels. Tim explained how he could install special brackets to maintain my metal roof integrity (i.e. no mounting directly on the metal roof and allowing potential leaking) that would allow mounting solar panels. Ultimately, I was able to save on NOT having to install a partial new roof. I opted for a energy management add-on. Glad I did. It helps me see what I am producing and what I am importing from PGE. Now that we are approaching spring, I am often seeing more EXPORT of energy to PGE. Even though I have an electric vehicle, I often seeing more EXPORTS than IMPORTS. Our timing estimates of "break even" (PGE savings versus total cost of system) will likely come true. Tim's crew were top notch professional who all enjoyed doing a great job. They even let them bug me with many questions during their install! We finally bit the bullet and installed solar panels at our home in San Jose. After gathering and preparing quotes from four different vendors, we decided to go with O'Sullivan (referred to us by a friend who had used them recently). Though they were not the cheapest option, Tim took the time to meet with us and thoroughly answer all of our questions and really make us feel comfortable with the process. I've learned over the years that a contractor you have confidence in and who communicates well with you is worth paying for. A note when comparing quotes on purchasing solar panels though: it is not apples to apples and you need to research the type of panel each is proposing. A $20k proposal using lower quality panels is not necessarily better than a $22k proposal using high quality panels. The install went much faster than I anticipated, and even though PG&E rescheduled our connection date at the last minute, Tim let us know immediately and worked to get it rescheduled ASAP. When we got our new date, everything got connected quickly and smoothly, and Tim came over one more time (accommodating our work schedules, which was awesome) to make sure we could ask any final questions and remind us what to expect on our PG&E bills in the coming months. All this while the two small children in our house were screaming and competing for attention, so thanks and apologies to him. Despite their booked calendar, they were still able to accommodate to my schedule and they finished the whole installation job in the exact timeline from our discussions. 2. Tim quoted me the best price (total price in $/Watt for the whole installation parts and labor) and using the best parts (LG R Prime 355 watt panels and Enphase IQ-7+ microinverters) compared to their competitors (most quotes I received using LG Neon 2 335 watt panels and Enphase IQ-6 microinverters); the best price quote I received elsewhere gave me the same $/Watt but using components that are not as good. 3. O'Sullivan Green Solar is a fantastic locally owned solar installer and is priced competitively, especially for the high performance and high quality components they use in their systems (25 year warranty on panels and micro inverters) and top of the line customer service. Their overall process is also more flexible than other installers I contacted, which was important for my situation. We had just broken ground for an addition in February 2023, and I wanted to lock in NEM 2 (April deadline for signed contract), but the remodel project wouldn't be complete until October. That wasn't a problem for Tim (the owner), and he worked with our contractor to ensure the new parts of the house were ready for solar and he designed the system based on the plans vs requiring everything to already exist before starting the design. We had a signed contract in March, locking in NEM 2, and he gave complete flexibility for timing of the actual installation, given it was at least 6 months out. After we completed the remodel and moved in, Tim finalized the permit application in November, including walking the roof with me to discuss a few layout details. We got the permit a week or so later, and his crew installed our 8.5 kW system in early December over 1.5 days. First class all around and I've been recommending him to everyone who asks! read more

Tim's team just wrapped up their work this week on the solar install -- I'm completely impressed with their professionalism, responsiveness and care throughout the entire process and fully recommend them to anyone looking to get solar installed prior to the decrease in federal tax benefit next year. When I contacted Tim, it was through a roofer's referral. I had already installed solar with a different company at a previous residence -- and they had done a good job so I thought it would be tough to beat the bid I had with them. Tim came out on 5/9, and provided me with a proposal and came in at a lower cost ~10%. He answered all of my questions, and we agreed on terms and a TBD install date based on my roofing install date. The roofing install date changed a couple of times, and Tim was able to accommodate this within his scheduling. They were out about a week after the roof install was complete, and the install was done in a day on a new stone coated steel roof. Tim's team was professional and clean -- they got their work done quickly and my 5kW system was installed in a day. When I came home, the driveway was completely clean and there was no evidence that they were there, except for the new solar monitoring equipment and panels up on the roof. Fast forward to today and the city inspector has signed off. Tim himself came out to the property to make sure the inspection went well, and he even waited for me to arrive home so that he could get the paperwork into PG&E that same day.
