Our hvac decided to give out right before another heat wave, and a year after our warranty expired... of course. My husband and I evaluated three vendors around the area in great detail and despite Chill coming out slightly more expensive than others, we felt they were the most thorough and comprehensive during the consultation (and the many follow-up questions I had). They were also able to squeeze us into their busy schedule so we could get AC before the heat wave! During installation, they ran into several challenges with placement of the new unit and some wiring that needed more attention. They worked through and around them to make everything work out in the end. I really appreciate their flexibility and expertise to navigate all the roadblocks without changing the scope of work. We had a great experience with Chill Heating and Cooling. First off, I had a total of four different companies give me a quote to replace our existing Furnace & A/C units. Chill was the second to arrive and give us an estimate. At first glance when comparing the numbers they gave me to that of the first company, they seemed way off and too cheap to be real. After getting more quotes, Chill remained the lowest price; however, the cost for some of the other companies came in somewhat close. Upon closer review of the contracts, the type of units offered by Chill were much better. A clear difference and made the price look even better! So we signed up and set our appointment up for the next week. We had to move the date since we felt the timing was terrible (expecting 90° weather when the following week was going to be 60°). They moved the appt with ease, even setting it for the following Monday -- on Memorial Day! This was something they offered and I jumped on it, since I was planning to work from home anyway that day. The day of the install went as expected. No issues arose; although, for the guys in the attic I think they would say they had to make some unplanned adjustments -- no complaints to myself or family. All three workers were extremely kind and respectful. They arrived at 9:20 AM and were out before 6:30 PM. Before starting work, they laid down tarps along the hallway (where the entrance to the attic is). They placed all of the old furnace/AC equipment out in front of the house, but cleaned it all up and packed it into their vehicles. They swept up most all of the leftover debris that fell from the attic space and gathered all of their tools. Upon exiting, one of the installers walked me through how to setup the Google Nest Thermostat. He was very patient and waited to ensure the system was fully functional before leaving (used a thermostat gun to read the temperature on one of the vents). read more

Just moved to San Ramon and the AC in our new house was not working. Called Chill and they were super responsive. They came out the same day and looked over the system. There were a lot of issues. It looked like whoever installed or serviced the unit didn't know what they were doing. Chill offered to repair the unit, including recharging the system, but I was concerned that it would just be a waste of money since the AC would probably fail again soon. Chill then provided a couple of reasonable estimates to replace the AC and explained the pluses/minuses of each option. Decided to go ahead with a replacement. I think Chill Heating & Cooling (Chill HVAC& Refrigeration) is a very dis honest and unreliable business. My experience with them was very negative. As they are doing a price gouging which I believe it to be against the law. Based on the reviews here, I contacted them to provide me with an estimate to replace my old furnace. Kevin Sent me the estimate on March 4th. We had a few emails and texts back and forth which took Kevin a few days to respond and provide information about the installations and details of the new furnace. I approved the installation on March 12th which was only 8 days after the estimate was provided. To my surprise and without any explanation, he raised the price by $3700 for exactly the same furnace and exact same installation. I was astonished and very disappointed because his explanation was that the price increase was due to "new politic of our government" which I absolutely do not believe because a few days before, he texted and said that they had a few of the these furnace in stock and they could install it as soon as I approve the project. I have a Samsung refrigerator with a water & ice dispenser on the door. The water dispenser stopped working one day and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what happened. Wonderful service!!! I called late Thursday and was able to schedule for the next day, Friday, to come over to help me with my refrigerator. During a heat wave in Brentwood, our 15 month new AC system stopped blowing cold air. I placed a service call with First American Home warranty and were assigned another company with a 1 star on Google. Went back to request a different company, they assigned Chill. Even on a Sunday, I received a text notification to advise of an appointment. The day before the appointment I received a text message to confirm. We reached out to Chill Heating and Cooling about our ice and water not working in our refrigerator. They came out in late August and spent 5 min looking at our refrigerator and confirmed it was not working. They mentioned that it would be pricy to fix and they would get a quote to us. We were charged over $90 for this 5 min visit where the technician confirmed what I had already confirmed... the unit was broken. We reached out via email and by phone multiple times (6 times all together), where we were told that a quote would be over to us within the day. It has now been over 6 weeks and we have not received a quote. We feel very scammed by this company that we were charged over $90 for them to spend little time confirming what we already confirmed on our own and no follow up after. Chill HVAC & Refrigeration deserves more than just 5 stars! Our 10-year-old unit suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago, the day before it was forecasted to be one of the hottest days of the year. My husband and I called many other HVAC companies, and they were either not open that Saturday morning or were fully booked until later that week. Chill HVAC & Refrigeration was the last one on our list, and thankfully, they answered and were available. Vik came to our residence a few hours later to check things out, told us what the issue was, and explained that he would need some time to repair the small motor connecty-thingy. (Side note: I don't know anything about HVAC systems or what the technical terms are, so I'm going with "small motor connecty-thingy"). Since it was already so late in the day, Vik advised he would need to return the next day to finish.  Vik returned the following day, along with his manager (I believe his name was Michael?? or was it Jack??), to finish the job, and our unit was back to working and running smoothly that day.  Thank goodness for Vik and Chill HVAC & Refrigeration because this gal does NOT do well in the heat :) Vik was professional, kind, courteous, thorough and made sure our HVAC unit was working as it should.
