THANK GOD for QUALTECH HEATING & COOLING!! They SAVED THE DAY, WEEK, MONTH, SUMMER!!! I am an absolute pessimist when it comes to repair and maintenance issues so when I turn on our AC (BECAUSE IT WAS 100 DEGREES) for the first time since last summer and it decides to start behaving more like a regular house fan (not COOLING. Just blowing that hot air all over the place. NOT "COOL"), well, I basically had a "melt" down. I immediately call my Landlord who, is kind of freaking out, because apparently I am not his only property with this problem. OKAY.....So....I'm waiting to hear what he's going to do to help us...and....he basically asks if I can handle it and get someone out to service us because he has been trying to get emergency calls out to all of his AC repair guys but they are ALL SWAMPED with emergency calls and he can't get anyone to come out until AFTER the weekend. If I wanted it fixed NOW (which I did), I'd be better off trying to get someone myself. GREAT!!! No, NOT great. Prior to this past week, my experience level with the local repair community has been ZERO. That's when I go to The Yelp for HELP! After reviewing the choices, I pick three to start with. The first couldn't come out until Tuesday (nope, pass!)- I am not disclosing the other businesses I called because I don't think it fair to comment since the weather provided EXTREME circumstances for all of the businesses I contacted. So not really fair to single any business out because of the inability to schedule same day appt for this particular week. Qualtech Heating and Cooling was next on the list. At first it was apparent that my landlord was not kidding. Qualtech Heating and Cooling was also booked solid all with people like me who are having the same emergency situation. BUT! They gave me an OPTION. I was speaking with Miriam at Qualtech and I know she could hear the despair in my voice (yes, I was pretty close to crying on the phone at this point) so she did offer to keep my contact info on the side in the event that a cancellation occurred during the day. It was kind of her to offer that but I new that chances of that happening were probably pretty unlikely. I said "sure, that would be great" but deep down was not really expecting any miracles. I went on with my quest, got a few more listings that looked ok, 3 more from Yelp, lined up to call then I was going to have to search outside of the Yelp world. I went through the 3 and same thing!! But I MUST note that Qualtech was the ONLY one that had at least OFFERED to keep me basically "wait listed" for that day. About 3 hours later.....Miriam from Qualtech calls. OMG. Is she going to save our sweaty family!?! YES!! She can get someone to come out later on in the day. It was a later time, between 4 and 8 but I didn't care. I told Miriam that we would not be home but close by hanging out someplace close that has AC so could they call us when they are on the way. "Absolutely, we will call 20-30 minutes before we arrive, will that work?" LOVE HER! Yes, there is a happy ending. It was a LONG HOT day but by the end of it, Qualtech Heating and Cooling came through. By the time they were able to come out it was about 7pm but we didn't care. Francisco (sp?) was our guy. He was like Superman to us. After a quick look see, he gave us 2 choices. One was a repair that would get it up and running but not a permanent fix. The system is probably 15 yrs old and likely in its last stages so it will most likely need to be replaced after this temporary fix expires. I gave my landlord the 2 choices. he elected for the repair which I was kind of relieved at because if he opted to replace it that would have to wait until tomorrow since it was like 8pm. The repair was completed and we were "COOL" within the hour. Francisco must have had quite a day. It was unreal that he was still going so late. I think I was his last appointment though. The repair was condenser related. The cost was WORTH it. They went above and beyond to help us, that's priceless in my opinion. I have recommended this company to my Landlord and am asking him when he is planning on replacing our unit as I would like him to use Qualtech for the replacement. Every once in awhile you have an experience that you think you are going to dread, sort of like going to the Dentist. But then, the opposite happens and you realize that indeed, some black clouds DO have silver linings. Black Cloud: Our Central Air Conditioning System. We inherited it with the house we bought. It is 10 years old. It stopped being a Cooling system last week and decided to just be a FAN, blowing room temp. air. NOT fun when it's a hot day and your kids are home. We assumed the worst. Think we will have to end up replacing it. We were NOT ready for this financially and were just cringing at the thought of having to shell out big sums of money for an AC when Fall is at our doorstep. I did some research on local companies and found these guys. Qualtech Heating and Cooling. Solid Yelp reviews and checked out their Diamond Certified Page on the Web and they have over 100 solid reviews there. I just had a good feeling about this one. turns out I was right to listen to my intuition. SILVER LINING: Qualtech for SURE! I don't know what's up with the handful of "hater" reviews they have here but wow, they seriously have it wrong. The total OPPOSITE of what I thought was going to happen in terms of outcome. We DIDN'T have to REPLACE it. In fact, Daniel (who is AWESOME!) gave us THREE options on what we could do. He knew we were stressing about the financial factor of possibly having to replace our AC system. only ONE of those options were to replace it IF we wanted to go that far and replace it. He said the issues weren't unsalvagable but replacing the system MAY prove to save us money in the long term if our AC continues to give us problems. Well, under our circumstances, we elected for the least costly option ( had to since finances are tight right now) to repair it. CHeck this out: He even said if we decide later we want to replace the system with a new system, he would apply the repair investment towards a new system. THAT WAS AN OFFER WITH NO EXPIRATION! Who does that? I've never been offered that before. Our system has since been working. We didn't get slapped with an outrageous bill. The repair even has a warranty on it. This is going to be who we turn to when we have to replace it. I totally trust these guys and will contact them when my home heating/cooling issues go south on me. read more

I recently had my 32 year old heat/air unit die on me at the peak of summer. After getting quotes from 3 installers for a Carrier unit (all 3 found on Carrier's site), I selected to go with Qualtech. Not only were they the cheapest, the other installers actually tried to sell me units from other companies that I did not want. I was a little wary that the quote I received from them was almost 60-70% of the others, but their reviews were good, so I went with them, and I could not be happier. There were no hidden surprises at any step and the process was seamless. Daniel heard my requirements and preferences with patience, and walked me through how the whole process with work. He spent time looking over my existing install, and told me what would need to change. The install team led by Eddie were prompt, courteous, and clearly knowledgeable about their work. Not only did she ensure everything ran smoothly, but she also helped me access rebates and savings opportunities that I wasn't even aware existed. Her expertise and willingness to assist made a real difference and saved me extra money, right down to adding removing my fireplace to get access to significant rebates and even coordinating with the government agency to get that rebate approved. She also ran my entire permitting process with zero faults. I'm also grateful for her friendly support that made scheduling and follow-up a breeze. SCAM ARTISTS! Qualtech had their employee Freddy come for a service call. I reported my ac was not blowing through my vents, but the outside unit seemed to be working fine. He came in and went straight back to my ac condenser unit outside and asked me to run my ac. He hooked up his machine and then came in with a bid to repair for $2800 and told me my evaporator coil was bad, had a leak, and something else needed to be done and this was a 4 hr labor charge, but that it wouldnt really solve the problem long term and that I should replace my entire unit $6500 dollars!!! Mind you, 1- HE NEVER WENT INTO MY ATTIC TO EVEN LOOK AT MY EVAPORATOR COIL, SO HOW DID HE KNOW IT WAS BAD? 2- HE DIDNT RUN ANY TESTS WITH MY THERMOSTATS IN THE HOMEOR EVEN CHECK MY VENTS. 3-HE RECOMMENDED A $2800 REPAIR TO ME THAT HE DIDNT BELIEVE WOULD FIX THE ISSUE LONG TERM. I ended up getting a referral from a family friend for a hvac company.. Called him and had him come this am. He came in and asked me questions regarding the issues I was having and then fully inspected ever single aspect of my hvac units from my vents,to the condenser, thermostats, filters, and unit in the attic. TURNS OUT IT WAS A DAMPER FLAP THAT GOT STUCK SHUT COST $95 DOLLARS TO REPAIR AND NOW MY AC IS FUNCTIONING PERFECTLY. I DID NOT HAVE A LEAK AND MY EVAPORATOR COIL IS IN GREAT SHAPE HE SAID. Bought a new washer & dryer, upon installation smelled burning, turns out we needed the vents to the outside of the house to get cleared. Company came with pressurized CO2, were very funny and courteous etc. Firstly, ours vents upwards, which is odd I know but no matter. So they blast the CO2, cleared out a whole lot of lint (~3 kilos). Went to turn on dryer, still smelled burning, but tried convincing me it was okay. I disagreed, had them blast it again with the CO2. More lint came out yet again, but dryer still smelled of burning. They proceed to try and convince me that they need to install a new vent system under the house, because the hot air cannot escape up the vent (physics?). So of course they leave, give an 800$ estimate for new vent. Meanwhile I decide to go macgyver style and duct tape my leaf blower to the bottom end of the vent and see what would happen. To be fair, I left it on for about 30 minutes. Of course, 2 more kilos of lint comes out. Dryer no longer smelled, no need for that 800$ vent if they had done their job properly. In conclusion, very disappointed, especially because they were so friendly, but tried to exploit us by not completing a job we paid 250$ for. Take home message, sometimes if you want a job done right, do it yourself!!! read more

Qualtech is the best I've found to perform heating/air conditioning issues. Recently had new mini-split system installed in Master Bedroom, which gets all morning sun, it's blisteringly hot! Daniel, owner, came to my home to assess the job. He was kind and friendly, prompt, efficient, and professional. From that point, Erika took over and explained the pros and cons of the forthcoming installation. She was knowledgeable, articulate, and a kick to deal with. The forthcoming estimate was reasonable and far more reasonable than we had expected. On the day of my choice, their team of installers arrived promptly, prepared, efficient, and installed my new system in 2 hours. They explained the process, listened to our suggestions, sawed, screwed, lifted, and went about the job quickly, quietly and cleanly. There was nothing left behind but a brand new, silently running, softly blowing air conditioning system that had not been there before. I was amazed how quickly and efficiently Junior and his team had the system installed. It was time to replace my entire HVAC system. I had a great experience with Qualtech. Daniel the owner came to the house and reviewed what I had for an HVAC system. He asked what I want in a new system along with other various questions. He provided in his quote a couple of options. I had more questions on the equipment and zoning, so made a second appointment. We discussed the system I chose and he made a suggestion regarding it. He saved me several thousand dollars by suggesting to hold off on zoning the ducting and try a thermostat (Ecobee) with remote sensors that would average the temperature through out the house. Well that worked! Erika was very pleasant and helpful with setting up the installation due to my schedule and answering some additional questions I had. She said my contract would live on the corner of her desk until I was ready to do the install. Day of installation the gentlemen Eligh and Wilson were right on time, put down tarps on the floors and got right to work. By the end of the day they had completed the installation, explained how it all worked, explained the warranty, tested the system to assure it was working correctly, answered a couple of questions, cleaned up and left. Wanted to give a shout out to Qualtech Heating and Cooling! Been in our residence 7 years and our heater went out and we needed a service we had never used here before. Looked at various options online and the reviews for Qualtech seemed to be outstanding so we made the decision to call them. Couldn't have made a better choice! Placed a call and spoke with Erika who was so polite and helpful and she scheduled someone to come out later in the day. Received a call from her a couple of hours later to say they could be out sooner than expected. Omar arrived and diagnosed the issue with our 34 year old heater and gave us an option to either repair the burnt out mother board or replace the heating unit itself. There was no pressure to go either way. We chose to replace the heating unit and were scheduled the very next morning. Leandro and Abraham arrived and did a fantastic job of sealing the existing vents, removing the old heating unit and replacing it with the new one, installing a new thermostat, testing everything, all within about 5 hours and at a very reasonable cost. Recently purchasing a home in Walnut Creek, the previous owners had removed the entire A/C system servicing the lower level of the home. Qualtech was our 5th of six estimates and the only one that came up with a workable solution at an affordable price. Their tech Daniel, provided an on-the-spot estimate of the work. Only one other company did that. In the end we were able to replace and upgrade the entire 26 year old upstairs A/C system, condenser and furnace and additionally install a split ductless system for the downstairs for 50% of the cost of our highest "hope I hit a grand slam" estimate from another supposedly "reputable" installer. All other estimates for the work were 20 to 50% higher. Their installation team was on time, took great care of our home, finished the entire job on time and exactly on the budget we agreed. The systems work flawlessly. Now, they also "missed" their first appointment with us due to an office error, but we wanted quotes form everyone. They quickly re-scheduled. Our Central AC pooped out on us this Friday and I'm so glad these guys were available. I hadn't had my unit serviced / cleaned since it was installed and honestly didn't think preventative maintenance was necessary on a unit 3 yrs old. Well after a good CLEANING (how embarrassing that was!!) the unit is now running like it was when we first got it. There was SO MUCH foliage and debris inside the unit and BUILD UP, I couldn't believe it. They showed me the inside of the unit and what can happen if the air filters and interior aren't cleaned at least once a year. JEEPERS!!! I think I got lucky on this one. I asked if they had any type of maintenance contract or servicing that they can do on a regular basis like once a year or every 6 months. They do. I signed up for one year and will renew if it keeps my system from hiccuping in the future!! We sure needed the AC this weekend! I'll say it AGAIN, I'm. SO GLAD WE CALLED. Thanks!! read more

We reside in Magee Ranch, on Thursday (12.9.21) we noticed water was leaking from our heater. I called Qualtech at 9:00 am and spoke to Erica. She said a technician could be out between 11:00-1:00 and we would receive a call 15 minutes prior to arrival. At 11:30 we receive the pre arrival call from Francisco, the technician, he arrives at 11:45. He diagnosis the problem, cracked water tank, calls his office to confirm the part is available provides us with the price which seemed quite competitive. He offered to schedule the install that afternoon but we had an appointment in SF, consequently, it was scheduled for Friday (12.10.21). At 8:00 we receive a call from Erica, confirming the 11:00-1:00 repair window. We receive our pre arrival call, Francisco arrives, does the repair expertly, heater is FIXED. I got numerous bids on an AC/Furnace system upgrade and not only did Qualtech provide me with the best configuration to meet my needs, they also had the best price (thank you Daniel). I then had to delay the install a number of times because of other projects I had going on and they accommodated my every request without hesitation (thank you Erika). Finally, my install was extremely challenging (ever try drilling through a 12 inch concrete wall or sending someone into a 16 inch crawl space to run a condensing line, not fun). But the Qualtech install team found a way to get it all done, including a major rework of the vent pipe from the furnace that was pure genius, and managed to do it with smiles on their faces (thank you Antonio, Pedro and Abraham...with a little bit of Leandro thrown in as well). I called Qualtech because our AC unit wasn't working. They sent out a tech almost immediately. He was able to diagnose the problem right away and informed be that they would need to get a part in a warehouse, which meant that they would not be able to fix the AC until the next day. I informed them that I would normally be ok with that, but if there was anything they could to expedite the repairs because we have a ~1 year old in the house. The tech said that he would make it happen, and he personally drove to the warehouse, picked up the part, and fixed our AC after hours. Qualtech will go above and beyond to make they're customers happy, and I want others to know how much I sincerely appreciated their working hard on our behalf. Qualtech recently installed a complete new heating/air system in our Danville home. Also, the location of the new system was changed from the previous location, so all new duct/gas & electrical work was also completed. The crew arrived promptly each morning and worked diligently each day until all work was completed. Each day I received a thorough summary of the work that was performed and work that still needed to be completed. The crew was very respectful in doing their very best in keeping the debris to a minimum and did a thorough cleaning at the end of each day. The owner of the company also stopped by each day to check on the progress. We now have an awesome new system, which is so quiet compared to the "dinosaur" we had. Well, I had a different experience than the couple of low ratings on here... Because I had read that they were late or did not call at all. I was not prepared this morning when Jennifer called at 9:45 for my 10-1 window! She told me Daniel would be here in a half an hour, so I scrambled to get ready. He and Raymond (I think) showed up promptly, and assessed the problem and fixed it in less than an hour therefore, getting me to work! I think they are friendly, professional, and well worth 5 stars! Also, the person who commented that they were there for approx 1/2 an hour and charged yada yada, apparently has never had a serviceman to their home to fix an appliance?? I feel I got off easy, as the last guy took 5 weeks to get a problem fixed and Qualtech had all parts needed on the truck!! They have my vote... read more

We recently replaced our very old HVAC unit in the first floor of our house. After consulting with several companies we decided to proceed with Qualtech because they were very professional, responsive as well as priced fairly. Daniel was great - he quoted and designed the system for us and put a plan together that allowed us to move the HVAC unit to the attic. Erika who runs scheduling and the office was very responsive and the installers Antonio and Elijah always showed up on time, kept things clean and kept to schedule. Antonio was the lead installer and we very much appreciated his attention to detail and quality workmanship. The new unit is very quiet and cools the house very quickly. I am so glad my Diablo homeowner friend referred me to Qualtech Heating & Cooling to diagnose and repair my faulty AC. It was around 98 degrees outside when my AC stopped blowing cold air in all of my interior vents. I called Qualtech Heating & Cooling and was quoted a reasonable rate of $65 service call waived if repairs were made. I appreciated the prompt appointment. In my opinion, Qualtech Customer Service follow-up and follow-through is outstanding. Daniel, the highly skilled Qualtech professional replaced the AC starter which quickly solved the problem! The repair price was acceptable. An added bonus is the excellent warranty that came with the repair work. Qualtech offers some coupons on Yelp which I did not know at the time. I have been wanting to get a mini-split A/C for a long time. I got 4 quotes and Qualtech was one of them. What set Qualtech apart: The entire experience was AMAZING, not just their fast service times and very competitive rates, but also the staff and their teams knowledge. Erika manages the office and goes above and beyond EVERY single time. She explained everything to me and was probably the No.1 reason I went with Qualtech. I got a cassette installed on the ceiling and it works perfectly for my house. The unit did have some issues at first (manufacturers issues, I got a Mitsubishi) but everyone including Elijah and Omar were so professional and reliable that I would not hesitate to use Qualtech AND recommend them again.
