We had Attic Solutions come in to clean up our crawl space, replace missing insulation, and install a vapor barrier. I'm very impressed with the workmanship. They were clean in our home (by installing sheeting over all of our floors and over the bed by the access hatch). I couldn't believe the number of trash bags they brought out of our crawl space. My 3 year old son called them Astronauts because they wore full Tyvex suits. Afterwards I crawled around in the space and was impressed with how comprehensive they were - they got to the complete crawl space, including to areas that a previous contractor said was inaccessible. This company charged $4k to shore up potential access points for rodents and install a vapor barrier. 2 years later today we paid another $2k to fix what wasn't properly blocked and 8 other entry points missed 2 years ago.., one of which shows signs of frequent traffic, rat feces and maggots from recently dead rat in a trap. When I called I was quickly reminded the one year warranty was expired and that the company no longer serves Marin County. The office called and offered to come in a week to have a look which was nice (1star) but a week later while the subfloor reeks of dead animals. Pictures from the technician today show obvious 'misses' and failed blocks ( spray foam the rats chew through). The other thing today's tech asked was why we spent $2k on a vapor barrier ... we got talked into a spend with little value living on a hill with sufficient drainage. Update, the invoice from Attic Solutions was $250 for cleanup and $400 for securing rodent access points, the rest vapor barrier ($3,500). That said securing rodent access points, the job was priced wrong or they simply cut corners as the evidence shows the rats never left... just didn't die and stink up the house again... the only reason we called 2 years ago because the smell was unbearable! I was convinced the vapor barrier was necessary and we weren't taking chances on eliminating the foul stench. read more

My situation has some similarities to the 1-star review left by user Kristi L., but I am giving a 5 star review. My bottom line, TLDR: They are a professional outfit, but make sure to go over expectations regarding what "rodent proofing" entails before hiring. I hired them because I could not fix my rodent issue, and despite their best efforts, I still have rats. I had (spoiler: still have) rats in the attic of a 2 story home, as well as on the first floor (slab foundation home). Dan gave the initial consultation. He understood that I was concerned about the rats and did not care so much about the insulation. My position was, don't change the insulation until we're positive that the rats are gone! He was very confident that there would be no issues. He touted the 1-year warranty (so if any new insulation was soiled by rats, they would replace it), and ran some napkin math explaining that I may as well hire them for the full service (insulation & rodent proofing) because they can replace the insulation for much cheaper than I could by myself. Sounded like a slam dunk! We haven't noticed any rat activity in the attic, but they have returned to the downstairs units. Joshua sent out works several times, they've been great, they've really tried to help us seal out any entrance / exit these rats could be accessing...unfortunately, we have not met with success. I had another talk with Joshua, and we agreed that Dan may have "oversold" us on the service, but at this point, they have done all that they can. Their service was on the attic, and it seems that the rats are getting in from somewhere else. They will stand by their one year warranty on the attic. But they cannot rodent proof the entire house. They gave a lot of service and value for what I paid them for, but my issue is beyond their ability. So ultimately, I give them 5 stars despite being dissatisfied with the outcome. They are a good company and I believe that they are addressing the issue that led to my dissatisfaction. My disappointment is because of the gap between what Dan promised and what the ultimate outcome is. We had the attic totally cleaned out. 36 year old R30 fiber glass insulation removed, attic vacuumed, sanitized. Plenty of rat remains, faeces and urine traces. New R38 fiber glass insulation installed. Then openings sealed. Under the eaves too. The crawl space was also inspected, and the openings that needed additional chicken wire were fixed. Totally pleased with the result. Attic Solutions replied to me the same day I had requested a quote. I was quickly helped by Dan and got an immediate appointment for the following business day. Dan came over and was very professional, he wore a mask as he came in to take a look inside the house as well as check out the crawl space. Dan also answered all my questions regarding insulation, installation of insulation in the furnace section, and questions around heating/cooling (if I were to later get an HVAC installed). As soon as Dan had assessed each of the areas in my home he provided the best solution for me as well as a quick estimate. He showed me the breakdown of installation and cost. After taking a look at the breakdown there was no question that he had a deal. The cost was very reasonable and he communicated the next availability for installation and what to expect. I immediately received a confirmation call for the deposit, received the receipt via text, and a phone call for confirmation. I received another call the day of the installation from Ozvin to make sure I knew they were coming. Ozvin and the crew wore fully body gear and equipped themselves with masks as they worked around the house. Overall the installation took less than 3 hours (bear in mind my home is only about 1000sq ft so there wasn't too much to insulate and I have vaulted ceilings). Overall, I was really happy with the timely communication and service. I highly recommend attic solutions! I paid $1,900 about 2 years ago for a "rodent proofing" service. They had to come back several times within a year to check their work because I still saw rodents several times. Now, about 2 years later, I again hear rodents in my attic, and while I understand I am out of the 1 year warranty period I asked the owner if he could help me by checking out the attic and helping me resolve the issue. I even mentioned I was willing to pay them a couple hundred dollars to check it out and rectify the issue. He refused and said he doesn't offer this service anymore, which is quite odd because just 20 days ago someone wrote a review saying they had rodent proofing done. When I confronted him about this he said oh well that guy paid us like $15,000 so we included that service. And he was like well if you pay the $1,900 again we can probably do it. This is absolutely disgusting, all he cares about is the money, not to take care of a customer. Also, logically, why would I pay $1,900 again when you were supposed to do the service right the first time?! Don't depend on this company to help you if any issues come up and don't depend on them to provide reliable service in the first place. Buyer beware! read more

I scheduled a walkthrough with Dan, and he was very professional and honest with me from the get go. He gave me different quotes depending on the scope of how much work I wanted based on measurements and insulation materials. The pricing seemed fair, so I went ahead and gave him the go ahead to upgrade our entire attic and crawlspace with brand new insulation. The work included clean up of unsightly rodent droppings that accumulated in the attic over the decades and before we moved in, patch up work as rodent prevention, spraying, traps, and brand new/modern insulation. Attic Solutions came to the rescue for me by cleaning out the attic of my 122-year-old house after all layers of my roof were removed and replaced, removing all roofing debris and the sawdust insulation from 1902. Ricardo and his team did a good job of ending our rat problem. Its been over 2 weeks and no sign of the unwelcome visitors. First they did a walk around the house outside then inside explaining what their plan was. Then they executed their plan. While cleaning the crawl space they noticed that 1 duct was being used by the rats to live in. They had already taken pictures and recommend removal and repacement. Once agreed to they removed the rat duct and showed me. Several years ago we had the kitchen completely remodeled. Behind several cabinets there openings in the floor and walls made during cabinet installation. We never knew. The automatically they covered the openings with wire mesh. We are very pleased with the follow-up service from Ulises and his crew last Thursday. We engaged this company to rodent proof and clean up our attic back in mid Jan as we have rat problem. We knew the rats are both in the attic as well as the sub-level (between 1st and 2nd floors). They came to suck up all the old insulation in the attic, rodent proof it. We were please with that work too. However that same night, we still heard rats moving in the sublevel. We caught one later in the garage as there is a crack in the garage column to the ceiling that the rat would its way there. The second rat (hopefully just one more) was too smart. Took the baits 4 times without getting caught. Finally we got Ulises and his crew member to come back to check. He was very patient in listening to our concerns. They worked to seal up every other possible entry points (we found two on the side of the house and one was a sure culprit that I used steel wool to plug it before they came). They placed more traps for us. We have been hearing the "smart" rat scratching, perhaps chewing in the wall behind our refrigerator. So I was able to call these guys on a Saturday. We had a new HVAC system placed and the HVAC guys said they saw some dead rodents and that I should get it cleaned up. I got a call back later that day and said they can come out for an estimate on Monday. Dan came out who claimed to be a part owner and explained the whole process. He came early and was very professional and prompt. Being on time is essential. He was quick and thorough. He said if we wanted to book him, they can start Tuesday. Tuesday came up and Manny showed up with a crew in total of 3 guys. They suited up, cleaned up the attic space then also the crawl space taking out dead critters and what not. They then walked around the property and replaced any vents/mesh needing replacing and sealed places on the roof as well. The team of guys were so nice I went out and bought them lunch and drinks. It is great that you get a peace of mind after all the work is done. A big plus with this company is that they are very responsive. I've given it a couple of months before reviewing just to see if their rodent proofing has held up - happy to report that we've had no issues since they came by and took care of a rodent infestation that came with our new home. Their guys gave a great quote for rodent proofing our attic, removing previous rodent-contaminated insulation and putting in new bats of insulation that are up to current code. I especially appreciated the time they took to diagnose the exact tiny hole in an obscure, almost impossible to see corner of the kitchen. 2 previous rodent companies had missed it but this team of pros refused to give up until they found out how the rats and mice were coming in - thank you!!
