Did a complete Attic clean up and R44 blow in insulation & in wall insulation for an old 1959 house. I would say, they did an excellent job - Starting with Jeremy, who accommodated my schedule for preliminary inspect and gave me a on the spot quote. Elder and the guys did an excellent job in covering up the entire house and finished the job in 2 days. My house had no insulation in the walls- to very less in the attic. After the insulation my Heat as well as Cold is retained inside the house. Heat turns on once in a 24 Hr cycle vs multiple times in an hour previously. If you are thinking of in wall insulation, it's totally worth it. The quote was the most competitive and they were very flexible. I am still closing out the multiple holes in the wall, will take time as i prefer to do it myself- I had plans to paint anyway . read more

Good solid insulation company with actual employees from the company doing the work, and not just hiring outside contractors. Everyone was extremely experienced and the work was completed on my home quickly and efficiently, with everything having protective plastic sheeting all the way from my front door to the work areas. The sales rep that came out to do the initial inspection and to give a quote, was very experienced and answered all my questions. We agreed on a course of action, and I later discovered I needed additional work, and he worked with me on getting that added. The workers arrived even earlier than expected on the day they were working on our house. They clearly had all the appropriate material and machines and equipment to do the job correctly. I feel very good about everything that was done and I would definitely recommend them. Everything was left clean and there was nothing I had to do to clean up behind them. The reason I am not giving five stars (only 4 stars) is because of the paperwork having multiple errors, and they took weeks to get me the pictures of the before and after shots of the work they did. I asked them to correct some errors I found in the paperwork, and even found more errors and had to ask them a second time to correct the invoice for my records. I also questioned whether the correct insulation was put into a certain wall, because the paperwork was incorrect. It took a physical callback from a different person to physically check, and he didn't really seem to understand clearly what the problem was. I showed him pictures of the insulation rating that I took for that wall, and he was about ready to go and purchase the insulation and redo the specific wall I was questioning. But then he just called the installers and they told him they put the correct R-Rating on that wall and then he left. He clearly was not trained well enough, and I still don't know if the correct insulation was put on that wall. All the hassle of the paperwork correction and reinspection of the work was not necessary if they paid attention to details better. But other than the paperwork and questioning a specific wall, the actual work was professionally done and these guys clearly are a good professional organization. Just keep an eye on the paperwork and go over all the lines of work in the contract before you sign it. Don't rush and sign what they give you. Read every line on the contract to look for errors. As far as the value for the service and work, they were right in the price range I was expecting. Don't hesitate to use them. read more

I was initially impressed with what seemed like a thorough and well-considered estimate. It felt like the team really evaluated my attic and cooling needs. The addition of two QuietCool fans also seemed like a major plus, as I was already familiar with the product and expected it would significantly help with cooling. When it came to the insulation work, I was very pleased. The crew did an excellent job removing the old insulation and installing the new. They worked efficiently, protected my floors well, and ensured that no insulation debris entered the living areas. That part of the job was handled professionally. However, I was less impressed with the radiant barrier installation. This may partly be due to a misunderstanding on my end, as I expected a different type of material, but the end result did not meet my expectations. The biggest issue, unfortunately, was the installation of the fans. At best, it was very poorly executed. The fans are 16" units with 12" duct openings, yet they were installed directly against the gables, which severely restricts airflow. Proper installation should have included a box or shroud to help direct airflow effectively through the fans. Because of this poor airflow, the fans do not cool the attic--in fact, they appear to make things worse. I can actually watch the temperature on the thermostat increase when the fans are turned on. I reached out to my representative multiple times, but the response was disappointing. I was told they could not take the fans back, and when I asked why the attic temperature increases when they are running, I was told there was no explanation and nothing further could be done. As temperatures continue to rise, I'm left frustrated that I spent $1,200 on two fans that perform the opposite of what was promised, with no meaningful support or resolution offered. UPDATE: After posting my initial review, I was contacted by both the project manager and the owner. I reiterated the reasons for my frustration, explaining that my review reflected my honest impression of what I saw as a lack of clear communication and effective management of the project and customer expectations. The project manager apologized for the communication breakdown and asked if I would be open to giving them an opportunity to make things right. A technician was then sent out, and he took the time to fully understand the issue, carefully examine the installation, and make several adjustments to the original work. He believes these changes will help improve airflow in the attic. Since my attic has some unique characteristics, he also provided helpful suggestions for additional ways to improve cooling and airflow--something I feel should have been addressed during the initial planning stage of the project. Whether these changes will result in significant improvement remains to be seen; I'll have a better sense once the weather warms up. I do appreciate the follow-up and the willingness of the project manager to reach out and try to make things right, and I have updated my review accordingly. That said, I want to be clear that the increase in my rating is largely due to the technician and the time he invested in evaluating the full situation, as well as both implementing and proposing thoughtful solutions. read more

Jeremy and his team met our expedited request to begin work within a week and to complete the project in two days so that we could begin work on our hardwood floors the following week. Insulation Solutions did a vapor barrier installation in our crawl space as well as rodent proofing and sealing of penetrations throughout the crawl space (the previous owners had left some glaring gaps for many of the penetrations). Jeremy was very communicative on scope and even accommodated a last minute requested change the day of the work. The workers showed up on time and were very diligent in their work and completed the work within the time frame Jeremy had outlined prior to the onset of the project. The pricing was fair and within expectations for the scope. We have already noticed a difference in air quality as well as comfort in our home after the work. I would recommend Insulation Solutions to others and may have some additional projects in the future I will reach out to them for. I called this company after two others flaked out on us. Gabriel, the owner, came out to do the inspection himself, and gave me tons of information about the differences and the pros and cons of each type insulation, and giving us a quote on the spot. We initially agreed to have both the attic and the crawl space insulated. When I told Gabriel that the kitchen fan is currently venting into the attic, and that we need to find a roofer to make a hole to vent it outside, he offered to connect the fan to an existing fan, at no charge. We later changed our minds about the attic and decided to just have the crawl space insulated for the time being. But Gabriel insisted on fixing the kitchen vent anyway, even though his men no longer needed to climb in the attic at all. I protested, but he said he'd agreed to do it, so he will, still at no cost. I was flabbergasted by his generosity. The three young men who work for him were all sweet, polite, and arrived early, and left the place spotless, both inside and out. (As opposed to another company whose inspector left muddy footprints all over the beige carpet, even after I laid down some newspapers.) I can't recommend Gabriel and his company enough. He treats his customers as if we were family. Oh, and there's ALWAYS a nice secretary, Jesiemae, who answers the phone and books you an appointment on the spot. No annoying voicemail tags. I own a tri-level house built in the early 80's. My wife and I decided to reach out to get some quotes to see how much it would cost to replace the insulation in our attics. He spent a lot of time answering our questions and demonstrated his expertise in all aspects of the work his business does. He stayed in touch with his crew chief, Elmer, during our project and came by to check on their work and answer any questions we had. The bid was in line with the community standard. The crew thoroughly cleaned and sanitized our attic, removed our old insulation, installed new insulation and a radiant barrier and also installed a whole house fan. Next day the 10 degree temperature differential between the sun-facing side of the house and the rest of the house was completely gone. The crew left our home exactly as they found it, despite the massive amount of dirt and debris they removed and all of the things they installed, carting out all of the packaging, etc. Elmer called both days of our job to let us know when he was 30 minutes from arrival and kept us apprised of what they were working on throughout the project. We had a house with old cellulose insulation that probably lost its ability to resist fire decades ago, and some fiberglass batts on top. A couple energy auditors said It wasn't an effective insulation installation and I wanted the combustible cellulose out, so I called a couple contractors. The first one suggested removal of all in the insulation and replacement. However, Gabriel of Insulation Solutions came up with a great idea - remove the cellulose but clean up and reinstall the fiberglass and put another layer on top of it to get the R value now required by state codes. He noted that the two layers could be perpendicular to each other, which helps create a good seal . So that's what we did. The insulation looks great and the two minor issues that arose were promptly addressed. My only disappointment is that they took on a side job that required some skill with a drill and they used a relatively young and unskilled insulation installer to do that work - and he did it poorly. They sent a more experienced guy to do a fix - he should have been the one to do the original job. However, when it comes to insulation, these folks are the best. read more
