We had a pretty large job that included cleaning, rodent-proofing, sanitizing, and re-insulating our attic, as well as cleaning, rodent-proofing, sanitizing, re-running our ducting, and laying plastic in our crawlspace. It was a big project that took about a week, and they showed up on time every single day, checked in regularly, and worked hard throughout. Along the way, we discovered a pipe leak, which they fixed without issue. We also needed to reroute our dryer vent, and they handled that as well. Even with these unexpected additions, Eduardo stuck to his original quote, which we really appreciated. The quality of the work is excellent, and we are very happy with the results. On top of that, Eduardo is coming back in two weeks to make sure the rodent-proofing is fully effective. That level of follow-up and accountability really shows he stands behind his work. Maybe it's excessive, but when someone takes a vision you've had for your home for over 30 years and makes it a reality, what else can you say but WOW! I live in a townhome here in Daly City, and my awkward 'crawl space' above an upstairs bathroom was unused and was a waste of space. After multiple companies told me the space was too tight, Eduardo had the vision and willingness to make it work! I needed rats exterminated from my attic a few years ago and they gave me a great quote for a full air seal, disinfect and re-insulate of my entire attic space. They were on time and finished quickly. Why im leaving the review now? Well I recently heard rats in my attic again and called fully expecting to pay a fee to have them removed but hoping a repeal wasnt necessary. Not only did they remember me, not only did they come out the next business day (or maybe 2) but they didnt charge me to seal 3 new holes and lay out some traps. Everyone was friendly, professional, hard working. The job was completed in one day, and they came on a Sunday because of my schedule. Who does that? I had all the exterior walls insulated for warmth, and the party wall insulated for sound. I already hear less of the next door neighbors tv. I had a challenging insulation project that included air-sealing and installing baffles in a tight space prior to blowing in cellulose. I initially used another company that completely botched the job (failed to air seal the perimeter and installed the baffles in a way that rendered them useless). I called Eduardo at Eco Attic and he was onsite in 2 hours, he looked over the space and agreed to do the job correctly for the same price. Their team came out the following week, they protected the floors and walls and sealed off the area where they were working to ensure that the insulation wouldn't enter our living space. They painstakingly air sealed the hard to reach perimeter as well as built custom baffles to ensure that the insulation would stay in place. We highly recommend Eduardo and Eco Attic Systems! We initially called them when I accidentally pulled our dryer out too far to retrieve an object that had fallen behind and, in doing so, completely severed the exhaust hose. Eco Attic was able to come within a day's notice and did an excellent job replacing it. While they were here I asked them if they were also able to replace our bathroom exhaust fan and run it through the roof. They came back the following week and replaced it with the quietest bathroom fan on Earth - we are so pleased with the results! As we have an old house, we are looking to get the insulation replaced in our garage (in our quest to turn it into an ADU) and also finish our attic with stairs and plywood. I recently had my foundation inspected and learned that Eco Attic Systems installed earthquake proofing brackets that were unnecessary. The foundation inspector pointed out that my house was already bracketed down so I paid $3500 for something I didn't need. I have reached out multiple times to resolve this issue by email, and once by phone because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but instead of getting an apology and a refund I got neither. I don't like to write negative reviews, but I feel like people should know to be careful with this company. read more

They showed up early, set up for vacuuming/removing old insulation and debrief. They were professional and explained the process to me. Update: a month after the job I have seen no rebate and Eduardo (owner) is no longer responding to me. Rebate company has no application though Eduardo says he submitted on our behalf. Eco Attic was recommended by a friend who spoke highly of workers who had labored under incredible hot attic conditions: "The work they did for us, removing blown insulation from the attic on the hottest day of the year so old wiring could be replaced, was heroic." My first meeting with Eduardo was a positive and friendly one. He made several calls in succession over the next few days. Having never dealt with attic insulation and the various options, I wanted to to ask about air sealing, rigid foam board, and cellulose. He was inexplicably irate about my asking such basic questions, saying he had already explained these things, when we hadn't yet even had a second phone conversation. So I asked another contractor who informed me that cellulose was "blow in" insulation, which I did not want for several reasons. My guess is that Eduardo was in a rush to close the deal based on what he thought I needed, which turned out to not be the case at all. All in all, it was overall a very unpleasant exchange. We hired EcoAttics to replace our old insulation and the company did a good job with the work; however, the pricing we were given built in a rebate from CalRaters which we did not receive due to lack of responsiveness by Eduardo. We have called CalRaters many times and they said they are waiting on Eduardo to provide them the final information to issue the rebates. Apparently, there are many homeowners that are in our same situation. I am sure he is busy, but it has been months since the inspection was completed and CalRaters has not heard from Eduardo. I wouldn't normally care, but the rebate is $1000. Just a word of warning that you may not receive a rebate. read more

I had a small water drip from my attic, I assumed either it is leak through my roof or gutter seeping in backwards or for sure condensation with lead me too look for attic inspection and possibly replace with a new insulation. he was quick, assessed the situation and identified water leaking source. Add one more to the list of service provided: sound proofing! We hired Eco Attic to insulate our crawl space. We also asked about reducing some of the sound from our HVAC system that's located in the crawl space right underneath our bedroom floor. It turns out that Eduardo knows a lot about soundproofing too! He started talking about mass-loaded vinyl, Quiet Rock, mineral wool insulation, acoustic caulk, and more. Sold! In a day and a half, the Eco Attic team brought our floor insulation up to modern building codes and more, and also dampened the sound. When I told Eduardo that we'd reduced about 90% of the sound, but that there was still a slight vibration caused by the HVAC system hanging from the studs, he offered to solve that too! He scheduled time for the crew to come back and lifted the HVAC system up from the ground, instead of hanging it from straps that could transmit vibration. And after the crew did that, the noise was 100% gone. Only the slight sound of the air moving through the vents, quieter than the air purifier we have running on low. How did we find Eco Attic? From Yelp, of course! I called Eduardo a year ago, when I was wondering what to do about our attic. He was driving to a job, and volunteered lots of information. He offered to put me in touch with people who do spray foam insulation, gave a ballpark idea of what the price would be for that and other options, and didn't pressure me at all. Probably one of the best contractors that I have ever hired. I bought a house in the last year and have worked with different contractors. Most have been subpar, but not Eco Attic. I got 5 bids for a new attic insulation, rodent proofing, and air sealing. They have competitive pricing and will go above and beyond. The initial person that did the estimate, Darrel, was great and did not push me into signing a contract. When Eduardo came with his crew, they made sure that things were done as they specified on the contract. The entire attic was cleaned of the old insulation and new ones installed. Eduardo even made recommendations on top of the written contract. I have been watching my thermostat and it has retained heat the entire night and my heating never turned on. After a tar and gravel roof replacement, my attic was filled with debris that needed to be cleaned and replaced with a fresh layer of insulation. Upon meeting with Eduardo, he was very professional and gave me his honest opinion on what materials to use and what services he offered.
