Eduardo is a real pro. You can just tell when speaking with him he's not trying to upsell you or get rich off you. He cares about the quality of his company's work. Communication was probably an 8 out of 10 and the only critical thing I have to say. I imagine he's got a lot of other things on his plate, but as with most contractor work, you have to stay on top of your job with the contractor to get things done cause life keeps going for them and for yourself. His employees are friendly, and work hard. They cleaned up after themselves, plastic sheeted their work corridor through my house, and vacuumed after. I appreciated how Eduardo came to my small home insulation project and managed it. It always good for the customer when the guy who's signing the checks for his employees comes out. If he didn't see something done right, he corrected it and got his guys to address it. I'm very critical because I expect professionalism, and I got it. Awesome service! I submitted a request for a price to replace our broken attic ladder in my home on Friday afternoon. Within a hour Eduardo emailed me a with a price. I requested this work be done on a Monday or Tuesday. The work was scheduled for the following Monday. The crew arrived on time and installed the new attic ladder. Since my home is an older house the exact size is no longer available and Eco Attic team modified the ceiling to accommodate the newer size and they did a really nice job. The job was completed in one day. I also submitted several request for prices from other contractors and as of the time of writing this have yet to hear from them. All of my other reviews are strongly positive, because I like to make sure good service providers are recognized. I had a prior service provider do a bad job on my attic. Eduardo assured me that Eco Attic Systems would do a first-rate job. Unlike several other reviewers, I had a terrible experience. The "firm" I interacted with does not seem to be the same as that described by other reviewers. In my experience, Eduardo/Eco Attic Systems is not a professional attic service firm. His behavior is erratic. More of a scam to get upfront money. Here is a summary of my experience. Eduardo was very enthusiastic to bid on my attic rodent problem. My first visit with him went well. * He came to my house promptly. * Was friendly and quite eager to do the work, and promised to do it well. * He proudly emphasized that he brought himself to the US, learned the trade, and earned a California State License Board ("CSLB") contractor's license (maybe unlike others). * He separated out the costly task of attic insulation replacement from that of rodent exclusion (which gave me confidence in his genuine concern about my rodent problem). * He proudly described the unique rodent exclusion technique he developed (some novel mix of wood & concrete) * He quoted a competitive bid for the rodent exclusion work. The only variable was the duration of a warranty. (Not in writing). * He promised to provide me with a full written report, including photos, of the work he completed * He commented on how badly a prior service provider had tried to do the same work for me previously * He promised to provide me with a written report, including photos, of the substandard work of the prior service provider (so that I could get a refund for that work) * He suggested that I report the prior service provider to the CSLB, which his report would assist me in doing) After that visit, things were quite different. I did hire Eduardo, but the work was incomplete (as he stated himself) and incompetent, and it failed. And his "warranty" re-work also failed. * Documentation * I asked him for a written summary of the work he proposed to do. He would not put anything in writing. So I wrote and sent him by text message a summary of the work I thought the job would entail--he sort of agreed. But getting paperwork from him in writing (and on any letterhead) was not possible; to this day, I have never received a single document related to the work he performed (other than a few logistics text messages). * Personnel & Communication * Eduardo did not come to my house during the two times his workers were on site. * He instead sent 2 workers to my house--I don't know if they were his employees or freelancers. I didn't get a name for either one. Neither worker spoke any English. I couldn't figure out what they were instructed to do, what their progress was, or how long the work would take. I was able to commnuicate with Eduardo once for a minute or two when one worker was was on his Phone with Eduardo and I could hear Eduardo in the background. * At a certain point, the workers left and I guessed that that was completion of the job. He did not supervise nor inspect their work. I wanted to do a walk-through with Eduardo, but he was not interested. * Payment * He wanted full payment upfront. I agreed to pay half up front and half upon receipt of (1) a written summary of the work that was performed, (2) a report of the prior service provider's substandard work, and (3) a walk-through with Eduardo. None of those ever resulted and I never paid him the second payment--he doesn't seem to care. * Results * There are several odd-looking wooden boxes sitting about my roof in areas where roof surfaces intersect. The wood color does not match that of the roof. I guess that is his innovative technique. * The work failed after about 5 months--rodents returned to my attic. He was reluctant to do anything, but eventually made the drive to my house, I guess out of some concern for a warranty pledge. He walked around and discovered that his workers only installed those innovative boxes at the attic level and did not seal ground-level holes on the perimeter of my house. So he and his assistant went to Home Depot to buy sealant. And did some sealing--I guess. Again, no report. * It failed a second time (within the first year) and rodents returned a month or two ago. Eduardo has not responded to phone calls, text messages, or e-mail messages for 2 months. * I will now hire a real and professional attic repair company to complete the job I checked on the Company and found strange results: * Claims to be in Corte Madera, but registered in Richmond. * CSLB license # on his own website is expired & for painting. read more

I bought a cozy 1,100 sq ft ranch-style house in north Marin in late 2021 and, upon inspection, found out that the house didn't have an ounce of attic or wall insulation. On mildly warm days, my 14 yr old air conditioner could just barely keep the house comfortable, but on days over 85 or so degrees, my entire living room would get uncomfortably warm. On 95+ degree days, I'd have to hide out in the back of the house which was slightly shaded by trees but still too hot. As such, I started doing research about what type of insulation to get and who to hire to install it. Always looking for a good deal and quality work, I read the Yelp & Google reviews of probably two dozen contractors and had five different top-rated companies come out to give me their recommendations and bids. While they all were professional and knowledgeable, I felt like I was getting somewhat upsold by a couple of them on additions I didn't need and was being told to not explore having the walls insulated because "it's just too much of a hassle." Fortunately for me, one of the contractors I scheduled an inspection with was Eduardo, owner of Eco Attic Systems. Eduardo was friendly and professional and walked me through the pros and cons of each aspect of the job: different types of insulation and R-values, options for eaves & gable vents, attic & garage fans, how insulating the walls works and what that means in terms of mess & cleanup versus return on value. Eduardo walked me through what would happen each day over the 3-day job, how they would partition off zones and protect my furnishings, and where they might run into potential snags. Eduardo never tried to upsell me on anything that didn't make sense to me and actually talked me out of doing a couple additional things which would have cost a decent amount of money but not provided much return. Additionally, Eduardo gave me the most reasonable price quote and informed me about the BayRen energy rebate program which he and his team also offered to managed the logistics of so I could get the rebate (roughly $2500) without having to personally jump through all the application hoops myself. They showed up on time every day, were very friendly and careful, kept me informed on what they had accomplished each day and what was yet to be done, and Eduardo personally inspected the work every day and made sure anything that didn't look just right was corrected. The team was also great about cleaning up thoroughly each afternoon. I continue to be very happy that I pulled the trigger and had the work done. This might sound odd, but I'm actually really amazed at how much of a difference the attic & wall insulation has made. My house gets a lot of direct sun throughout the day. My same old AC unit can now keep my whole house in the low/mid 70's even on the hottest, sunniest days here in Marin, and the AC doesn't have to run constantly to do so. One of my external wall closets that used to get crazy hot in the midday sun now stays cool all day, and the balance of temperatures throughout my house is almost perfect. My living room still gets a few degrees warmer during the afternoon because it's a vaulted ceiling without insulation but I may bring Eco Attic back in to change that at some point. If you're in the process of evaluating insulation contractors and you're feeling a bit anxious about the whole endeavor, I highly recommend giving Eduardo and Eco Attic Systems a call so they can come out and give you some recommendations and give you a competitive bid. I've already recommended Eco Attic Systems to several neighbors and am really grateful that Eduardo and his team did such great work at a totally reasonable price (the big name insulation contractors were a few thousand dollars more expensive). We had such a great experience working with Eco Attic Systems that 5 stars really doesn't do them justice. We moved into a new home at the end of 2019 and while we felt the house was a little on the cool side during winter, it wasn't unbearable. We knew the home needed insulation but we weren't convinced we needed it at that time. It's not an inexpensive job and with all the expenses of moving, we decided to hold off on that for a little while. Fast forward to the summer months though, and we were roasting in here. It felt like we were 50 feet from the sun, in a greenhouse. After a week-long heatwave kept leaving my infant son drenched in sweat after nap time, enough was enough. We called a number of businesses for quotes and when Eco Attic Systems showed up, we knew they were the right choice. Super professional, eager to help, very fair pricing. Eduardo and his team spotted a huge problem that was brewing under our kitchen; when they crawled under the house to add insulation under the floors, they noticed a pipe was broken under our kitchen sink and it was dumping water all along our foundation. Obviously they wouldn't be able to finish the job but they immediately helped my husband drain some of the water out with a shop vac (which is not their job to assist with at all) and they told us to call when it was dry so that they could come and finish the job. We have noticed such a huge difference in the home since we had them come out. We don't run our portable air conditioner as much during summer and the house stays warm during the winter. The baby hasn't woken up in a sweat and we've had a number of really hot days in October where we've noticed that the house really stays cool. We've cracked open on our door on a number of occasions and said "whoa, I had no idea it was this hot outside..." and promptly shut it right after. I had a really great experience working with Eduardo and his team when I needed insulation added to our attic. Eduardo came out to the house and talked me through my different options I could go with. I had also gotten a bunch of quotes from other contractors and though Eco Attic Systems wasn't the cheapest, I felt they provided the best value. Other companies were simply going to just blow in insulation while Eduardo and his team put in foam sealant in the gaps and placed covers on top my can lights to make sure the house really benefited from the insulation. On the day of the job, Eduardo and his team really did a great job of making sure they had no impact to the rest of the house by creating a plastic "tunnel" from the front door to the attic hatch. They were also providing me updates throughout the day on the progress of the job which I appreciated. He also helped me understand that if I went to a higher R level insulation, I could pay for the incremental cost by getting a BayREN rebate. I contacted Eduardo, owner of Ecco Attic Systems, to check my dryer vent for a clog, since my appliance guy said the dryer's functionality was fine, but that it wasn't drying clothes because of a vent clog. Since Eduardo specializes in venting, overall, I also asked him to check the attic to ensure my range hood's flexible piping is still connected and properly venting, since the tubing is long and taped together. While in the attic, he noticed rat droppings. He said the rats chewed through the tape holding the flexible piping together and that they gained access to the building via the stove vent's roof pipe outlet. He asked me if we had a pest control service I told him we did. He recommended that we get a pest control service to seal off the vent pipe outlet access point. Eduardo was fair in his price and professionally insightful regarding the unexpected attic matter. Indeed, he came for one repair, which turned out to be unneeded, and wound up doing another very necessary one and advising us on next steps. I highly recommend his services. I requested a quote for insulation in an area of our house where we had mold remediation performed. We also asked for air duct sealing and recommendations to make our heating/cooling more efficient and prevent dust. We also asked to get all exterior walls insulated with cellulose fiber. I got three estimates, one was similar in recommendations but more expensive and more important not as knowledgeable. The third came out to provide an estimate but did not get back to me with an estimate even after multiple messages and phone calls. Eduardo spent time to explain all options, was extra responsive and went beyond to provide good recommendations for other contractors we needed down the line for drywall and texturing etc. I cannot recommend this team enough. read more

We had a leaky dryer duct and discovered that it was because the duct ran too long unnecessarily (about 50 feet). So we knew we had to get that demoed. We called Ricardo and he answered promptly. Scheduled an appointment for the next Saturday and came in on time. He knew exactly what needed to be done and gave a very reasonable quote. Not just that, he also threw in a free duct cleaning + paint job that we would have otherwise had to pay extra for. A week later he shows up on time (no follow up required), gets the job done in a few hours (including painting / cleaning, etc.) and everything was done thoroughly and professionally. He even gave us a 3-year warranty on any clogs, even though we didn't ask him to or heard about it from any of the other guys we called. Super happy with the quality of work and the price. We had Eduardo and his crew remove old cellulose insulation in our attic, install new R38 batts, air-seal the attic, and seal rodent entries in the crawlspace. They did an excellent job. We especially appreciate how little mess they made, and how considerate they were about noise. Our attic entrance is in the kitchen, and we were prepared to have the whole kitchen sealed off, but they were able to seal a corner of the room, adjacent to the back door; no dust escaped, not even to the walls. When our baby was napping in the room over the entrance to the crawlspace, they waited to go inside. I think the job is sufficient but I wouldn't work with this company again. Getting to a satisfactory result was frustrating for me, required my time & attention, there were delays, my contractor had to review and adjust the work, my house was in disarray as stuff waited to go into the attic. I hired Eco Attic Systems to upgrade the insulation in the attic and caulk the crawl space beneath my house. The attic work included lift the plywood floor, remove the degraded blow in insulation, install two vents, blow new insulation into the attic, replace the plywood floor. Monday Oct 3, 2022 8:15 am Frederico was driving the van into my parking space in front of my house and the van scratched my neighbor's car. Edwardo spoke with the neighbors and they made an insurance claim. My neighbors were frustrated and I felt badly. Five workers were on the job and it appeared that no one was in charge. I had to ask them to move their gear to accommodate my neighbors. At times I saw up to four of them on their cell phones while one person was working. I wouldn't care if the job went well. The job was not complete on Monday. Edwardo arrived late Monday afternoon. He and another worker had to return on Friday to complete caulking the crawl space. The zipper cover over the ladder was installed too high, making it awkward to enter & exit the attic, move stuff in & out of the attic, without bending and possibly damaging the cover. I would have preferred that they asked me what I wanted, or measured where to put the cover to accommodate the folding ladder. I asked my contractor to move it to be level to the floor in the attic. He pointed out places where the blow in insulation was too high and too low and missing. I sent many text messages etc to Edwardo. He was slow to reply. We set a date in mid-January for him to improve the attic insulation. It was raining so we agreed to cancel because he needs to keep his equipment dry. It took many text messages & voice messages to reschedule. He was slow to reply. We agreed to February 9, 2023. Edwardo told me he would come. I scheduled my contractor to come to talk with Edwardo to review what needed to be done and to confirm that the work was done sufficiently. Edwardo did not come. Two workers came. They acknowledged that the previous work was insufficient and needed completion. Neither was in charge. When they were finished I pointed out that the insulation should go all the way to the perimeter of the attic, where the walls meet the roof. He agreed and moved the insulation with a broom. I was unimpressed that I had to point that out. Additional caulking was required beneath the house. I texted Edwardo twice to talk about what I should write in this Yelp review. Eduardo and his team - Vince and Fernando - did a great job helping me clean out the crawl space, remove old insulation and soiled vapor barrier, replace some ducts that rodents had chewed through, and rodentproof. Rodent proofing my crawl was challenging because I have a section of the foundation that is below grade and without covering panels. I like that he was honest and told me not to immediately replace the vapor barrier and insulation . First make sure rodents aren't coming back, ensure the issues with dampness get solved, and fix the below grade foundation. We had a terrible experience. Please beware that they give you a lower quote and jack up the price later. We hired them to replace our insulation in our attic. After they removed the insulation Eduardo increased the price by 20% before completing the job. If he had told us before he started the work, we wouldn't have allowed him to start work. He also promised that he will start BayRen rebate application process and he has been ghosting me since Nov 2022. I have called Euardo numerous times and he never responds.
