Next day there were more ants than before and that continued every day - even almost a week after the service I plagued by ants. I called the company many times and sent them texts asking if they would came back a do a better job. They have never replied to texts or phone messages. Very unprofessional!! read more

I hired Spencer to do a easy job of eradicating my house from ants which he felt very confident he would be able to do so with the first spray. As you can see below, still having major ant problem and in fact, has gotten worse since he "sprayed the house". He is incompetent and should NOT BE TRUSTED. Be prepared to reschedule your whole calendar around their work schedule. he usually runs 2-3 hours late IF he shows up at all. the office manager Nico is just plain rude and unprofessional. Makes snide comments on the phone bc they " are open on Saturday " lolololol like she is doing us such a favor! If you don't want to work on Saturday don't ! I didn't ask for cash. Simply a refund ( I did pay with cash) and initially Spencer agreed ( I have the text messages) then declined. Talk about Unethical work practices. These pics were taken 1 week after my house was sprayed by Spencer. Don't be fooled by his demented timeline. His date of service was prior to these pictures. THE ONLY SCAM HERE IS MARIN PEST CONTROL !!! THEY DID NOT EVEN GIVE ME A RECEIPT FOR THE CASH PAYMENT I MADE!! HELLO IRS?!?!?!??? They change just to come over and access the "problem" That I already knew I had. Since I interviewed a few companies the reason why I give them 2 stars is the guy didn't actually find the place where the termites were coming from. And what was actually dirt and not termite dust the man said it was from termites. I knew I had termites and another company showed me what their wood dust actually looked like and where the source was or their nest. So I would not call this company for termite mitigation. Perhaps they are better at other pests. I did pay their $150 for this "assessment" that had no report or follow up. I felt like I got scammed. No other company does this. And every other company provided a comprehensive report. So this place I don't recommend. read more

Hire someone else! My experience with this pest control company was very negative. Their work did nothing to get rid of the pests at my house. The person Spencer Reiner sent to my house put large pools of a substance toxic to insects on my wood floor in an area where my cats regularly walk. Spencer told me the worker was a recovering drug addict and made multiple false representations to me and now refuses to respond to several emails and voicemail messages. He told me he might fire the worker and told me he would send me back my check. He never did and now he's sent my account to a collections company and is jeopardizing my credit rating! I had to hire and pay another pest control company to get rid of the ants. read more

I thought we might have a few different pest issues (termites, powderpost beetles, and moths) and wanted a professional opinion. I got that and an unexpected complementary treatment for one of the minor issues. Matt came in, assessed the situation, and gave what I felt to be an honest, reasonable take. No apparent termite colony. A minor powderpost beetle issue. And some moths in one closet. After consulting with his boss, Spencer, on the phone, they explained treatment options, including a do-it-yourself option for the moths, which I said I'd try before opting for a professional treatment. I also declined the powderpost beetle treatment due to the issue being so minor. But after going to his truck, Matt came back and offered a quick complementary treatment of the few powderpost beetle holes before leaving. Little things like that go a long way. I'll definitely call Marin Pest Control next time we have a need. read more

This company is unfortunately very unreliable. Spencer has no-showed multiple times on scheduled appointments, with no advanced notice and haphazard follow up. He finally dispatched someone to our house, then terminated them days later for embezzling. He never followed up to explain the situation or do the follow up work that we had agreed to. Marin Pest Control has my highest recommendation. Spencer, the lead, is a great explainer and treats your house as if it were his own. He can do the pest control, but also all the carpentry, trade labor, and aesthetic touch ups to make your pest problem go away and be a distant memory. Our story pretty complex but we paid top dollar for a big pest control company to keep our house pest-free, but they fell asleep at the wheel leading to multiple infestations. They could not (or would not) fix the problem, and it was super hard to even get them on the phone - meanwhile there was an active (dual) infestation. Spencer was able to promptly resolve the situation and save the day where the big company did not. Not sure what we would have done otherwise. We subsequently chose to stay with Marin Pest Control and do additional preventive work because of the quality of the remediation. I could provide endless additional examples of why... but bottom line is, just call them and they will fix your problem for you, you won't regret it! read more

I called Marin Pest and scheduled an appointment for tiny termites swarming in a rental in Marin. The appointment was a NO show by the owner himself of Marin Pest Control, Spencer. He said he would be there at 3:30pm to the San Rafael house address. After the tenant had taken special time off work to meet Spencer. I called that same afternoon and the following morning and left a message to what happened? The company he did not return my call or even bother to let tenant he was not coming. Poor business practice- suggest you call another service. Best to not even try this unprofessional company. Due to an emergency situation with family coming to stay the next day, I called many exterminators only to be told they had no availability for days to weeks. When you have pests, it is an urgent issue! After leaving a message at Marin Pest Control explaining my plight, I received a text within 15 mins saying they can help me and to call their owner Spencer on his personal cell. Spencer arrived 2 hours later and proceeded to spray our entire property inside and out including up a steep hillside. He explained everything clearly including how to avoid the pests from returning. He was finished within about an hour and the price was reasonable. I was able to welcome my family with confidence, which is priceless, and we haven't seen the pests since. Called them on a Sunday night for service due to a massive invasion of ants which overwhelmed 5 Terro traps over 4 days as they kept multiplying. Owner answered and sent his partner, Matt, the next morning at 10:30. He fixed the problem inside and out throughout the house and said it's guaranteed. The ants are gone and the nest is destroyed. Knowledgeable regarding all sorts of pest problems and discovered some large untreated places where rats were gaining entrance (a mistake a former Pest Control company claimed to close off a year ago). I have used another gopher control woman who was useless (& costly) in every way, so I was hesitant to try again. Spencer, however, has single-handedly restored my faith in good, honest, reliable people who really do want to 'solve' problems rather than temporarily diminish activity. He thoroughly explained the challenges in eradicating gophers, but also went above & beyond in identifying target burrows before treating. While the first treatment was a success, he still made the time to come back, inspect, level the ground & treat again just to make sure (at no cost). My neighbors (2 doors down) are undergoing house/yard demolition & this apparently causes the gophers to move out of their territory & pop up in neighboring yards. Grrr...!
