We've called many times, only to see another charge appear the following month. I had four different companies, some pest control and some attic specialists, come to my house and do an inspection for pests--mammalian pests in particular. I didn't expect all the companies to be so different, but they were wildly different from one another, both in the scope of the inspection and the costs for abatement. It was quite an education! The pest control companies were the most thorough. And they were also the most respectful of my property in things such as not leaving a mess when they climbed down from my attic. The standard pest control companies gave much more comprehensive inspections than the attic specialists. Their inspections included the whole house inside and out, attic and crawl space, as opposed to just concentrating on the attic. So that observation led me to consider choosing from among only the standard pest control companies. Once I did that, HomeShield came out at the top. There were other decent companies but HomeShield did the most thorough inspection, mentioning items that other companies didn't pay any attention to such as the roof vents. They were also the only ones who told me they would do all of the work without using the access inside my house. This was a revelation because who wants people running through your house if there is another way to do the job just as well? Then once I found out their estimate was actually a couple hundred dollars less, it was a no-brainer to have them do the work. The abatement has now been completed and as far as I can tell, the work was completed professionally and reasonably fast. The technicians were personable and knowledgeable. The next time I need a pest control company I will positively and definitely call on Home Shield. My contacts at the company included the following 3 people: Fil, who did the original inspection, and Jeremy and Christian who were the abatement technicians I give a special 10 star rating to the technician who did the initial inspection. His help through the process was invaluable. I am both elderly and disabled and he was very patient with me, quietly and pleasantly guiding me through the process of hiring the company to do the work, answering questions, digitally signing the contract, etc The only thing I didn't like was being bombarded with text messages and phone calls. (None of these three people I mentioned had anything to do with this.) The company didn't use my landline which I had requested and kept calling and texting my mobile phone even though I requested them to stop. I don't hear well on my mobile phone, so this was an irritation--but it was not enough to make me drop my rating. read more

I came into town to visit my grandmother who has been with this company since 2021 and she STILL HAS RODENTS AND COCKROACHES. she's probably paid over 5k in services and has chosen to give up as Homeshield has yet to solve the problem Or respond to her many voicemails As they seem to be too busy to answer the phone or emails. When I would handle communications for my grandmother we had a rep local in the San Francisco office who was very attentive and I was told she was no longer with the company and all communications were routed to headquarters. I thought this was a small locally owned family business, thats a LIE. The technician was scheduled to come by for service twice since I've been in town and was told he called out each time. But yet he told my grandma that the office had given him an overbooked route since so many techs have quit and he didn't have time to service us. Which is it? I was told that they don't have enough reps to reschedule us for a sooner date, now I'm being told it's been rescheduled for a 3rd time to the first week of July??????! Clearly some horrible decisions have been made by management and i assume they've lost alot of employees because of it. It didn't used to be like this. Communication never used to be this hard. no one should have to wait on hold for 20 min to get assistance or leave a voicemail that will never get returned. We chose HomeShield based on their strong Yelp reviews and went into this process hopeful. Unfortunately, our experience so far has felt disorganized and inconsistent. From the beginning, we communicated that the rodents were in our bedroom walls and actively disrupting our sleep. The first technician placed traps in areas we suggested, but the issue persisted. A second visit resulted in additional and larger traps, yet there was still no improvement. On the third visit, another representative informed us that the previous approach was incorrect and that an exclusion service, costing approximately $1,500+ should have been the first step. This was the first time that process was clearly explained to us. Being told that prior treatments were handled improperly was concerning and left us feeling that there was a lack of internal alignment. We then had an inspector come out for an exclusion assessment. However, the "report" we received was more of a pricing summary than a detailed findings document outlining entry points and recommended corrective measures. That added to our confusion. At this point, we are still experiencing rodent activity in our walls, despite being under contract for ongoing service. The overall experience has felt reactive rather than strategic, and at times unclear. That said, the representatives we've interacted with have been polite and professional. Our hope is that HomeShield can step in, provide a clear plan of action, and resolve the issue properly moving forward. We chose this company expecting a near five-star experience and would genuinely like the opportunity to update this review if the situation is handled effectively. read more

We find the service overall to be very reasonably priced for how comprehensive and reliable they are. They resolved our flea issue so now our adult kids will now bring their dogs when they visit. Wow! What a difficult job these technicians have to handle. Jordan had to remove a fully grown paper wasp nest at the second floor eaves of our home. He had to wear a bee suit and climb up a ladder just to get close enough to eradicate. Not only did he remove the nest, he cleaned up and sprayed down the front of my house afterwards. I'm grateful to have found homeshield and have an annual plan with them to return quarterly to take care of any future pest issues. read more

They are a scam. They reduce prices and get you to sign a yearly contract. Then they don't show up to provide a service and in order to cancel require you to buy out the contract. Please don't work with them. read more
