Updating my review after the owner's response -- and honestly, it's clear they're not being truthful. We never agreed to any fee "three months ago," and the fact they're only bringing this up now is a huge red flag. If the owner claims we did agree, then please reply here with a screenshot of what I supposedly agreed to. All of our communication was through text, so it wasn't "over the phone" or anything like that. And if they want to claim it was a call, then they should release the recorded audio. Also, my original 5-star review was basically for Devon (you can see that in the review details). I was never fully comfortable with the company itself because of their reputation and the number of fake-looking reviews, which is why I ultimately didn't move forward with them. One more thing: when I changed my review to 1 star after what happened, they immediately started begging me to remove it. (I attached the evidence here as well- they called and messaged from different numbers asking to remove the review also admitting that they are sorry that free inspection message did not forwarded correctly) .That only adds to the red flags. My advice: stay away. And when you check their reviews, focus on the real, active reviewers -- not the obvious fake ones. read more

Update: I have talked with the folks at Ecoguard and they were very nice and professional. They even gave me a partial refund. Allegedly they will be refining their training and communication due to the issues I experienced with scheduling and I know that I will be giving them another chance in the future once I get settled into my new job. I want to believe that the next contract I have with them will be better. I will certainly follow up with an additional post to go up or down a star once I find out, but for now they are still a good option for anyone who appreciates a human touch to their pest service. read more

Nico from EcoGuard does an outstanding job every time. He is extremely thorough and always makes sure to remove webs around all the windows, under the eaves, and along the fences. He carefully sprays the entire perimeter of the house and pays attention to details. He also treated the inside of our home to help resolve a flea issue, and the results were great. I solicited some quotes on Yelp for a nontrivial ant problem. Most of the replies I got were "quote-bots" either quoting a flat rate with no further detail or inviting me to either click a link or give up my phone number, but in contrast, Anoki from EcoGuard wrote a personal reply and actually provided a phone number where I could immediately reach him directly. Within 30 seconds of starting to talk, it became clear that this is no "spray and pray" operation - this guy KNOWS what the ants are thinking, has a serious nature/wildlife background, and explained to me in biochemical detail why the infestation was persistent, why the Terro Traps weren't working, why it was seasonal, and much more. Ants are actually fascinating, the little bastards. He left me with some DIY suggestions to try (with products that are easily available but I'd never heard of) and if they don't work, he'll be the guy I call. He was friendly, genuinely interested in his work and eager to help me problem-solve, highly knowledgeable, and really engaging to talk to. I reached out via Yelp & they responded quickly so I was able to set up our first service. We met our technician Leo, he's the best!! Super nice guy, asked us if there were anything we had concerns about and offered his expertise. We really liked him so we requested to have him moving forward. We intially had a quarterly service schedule, but decided to move to a monthly schedule instead. There was a bit on confusion, as I had understood the costs differently. I saw on my account, I was getting charged more than expected. I called their office, and after getting transferred 3x, we were able to come to a conclusion. I do highly appreciate the care in their customers that they take. They could have easily dismissed me but they listened and did not belittle me on the confusion on my part. Beware! Poor quality service. I agreed to use their services and before I knew it, I was locked into a contract. Worse, the ant problem I hired them for was never resolved and didn't improve at all. Whatever products they used were completely ineffective. I complained and tried to cancel, but they didn't offer better service or alternative treatments. My previous review: The prices are reasonable, but the scheduling and communication need serious improvement. They always give a time range for when they'll come, but they almost never make it within that window. I usually have to call multiple times just to find out when they're actually coming. I've had to stay home for an entire day waiting -- and a few times, they didn't even show up after I specifically scheduled a visit. Then I had to reschedule and go through the same thing again.
