Wow wow wow! These guys are amazing! I inherited this home and as an early childhood educator, it has been very difficult to maintain alone. I had a 2 raccoons stuck in my HVAC system and the pest control company that my leasing company used was absolutely horrible and made the situation worse. Got on the phone with Eric and he was the only pest control company that actually picked up the phone. He assured me it was an emergency and was out the very next morning. Justin came out and was absolutely fantastic. He was extremely flexible as we waited for approval from my leasing company. He knew exactly how to solve the problem. Justin from My Rodent Guy solved a very tricky rodent problem at my house. Droppings, but where was the mouse? Justin went after this problem like a real detective. First he checked the whole house and outdoors for any little spaces into which a mouse could crawl. Then he sealed a couple of indoor spots. There was no way a mouse could have come in from outside cracks so he asked me if I ever left the front door open. Sure I did when I took the dog out for a quick late night peepee. He figured it must have just scooted in when my front door was open. He went about this with not only such intelligence but with a real knowledte of rodent behavior. He knew their habits. He could tell which droppings were old and which were new so he knew were to hunt. And then! He realized because of the newly sealed indoor spots under my sink that led to behind the dishwasher, that the mouse must have gotten trapped inside the wall and was forced to exit the house into the only path left and that was to the boiler room. And, there he found the mouse!! Problem solved. Add to this that Justin was always exactly on time or early. He is kind, sympathetic, helpful, and, as I pointred out, smart as can be. We had rats in both cars and required service. Eric and his son came out and used non-lethal "birth control" which seems to help. They also tried the rat bonker which uses C02 to kill rates humanely. It's great that MRG strives to use humane approaches to rodent control. The rat bonker didn't work for us as even though I tried several different baits - our rats wouldn't take. Thing is, rodent problems take work by the occupants as well as the pest control company. At his advice I did massive cleanup of the fence (which had ivy) and a grapevine and found some rats nests. That week long projects seems to have pushed them back. I also experimented with a half different baits. I think these services are evolving and a lot of this is hit and miss. Using the old styled poisons in the Bay Area is illegal, ineffective and dangerous to wild life. Honest, excellent communication, shows up as promised. read more

My last place was next to a park/ trail. A mama mouse found a gap in my last place (old house) and made it her new home with her little baby mice. I found "my rodent guy" and they came in quickly for assessment, fixing the gaps and putting the traps. The mama mouse and her babies were gone. There were scheduled follow ups. I move into my new place last year and had them do a rodent proof to seal all potential gaps. Their price is fair and reasonable. I felt safe after (do not ever want to have eye contact with a mouse in my house ever again). I saw a shadow in my garage yesterday and called them up for a check-in. They came in during the time promised (with text message right before arrival), checked and cleared space (including my car), and put in some traps just in case. Out here in the Sunset District, we're no strangers to seeing or hearing critters of all sizes both in and around our homes. For a week or two, my wife, cat, and I would hear noise every so often in the upper part of the walls of our house. It sounded like they were dragging furniture in on moving day. It started to get more frequent, and we got tired of hearing it in our living room after dinner time. I put a help request out on Yelp and found My Rodent Guy! And I'm so glad I did! I sent a request out on Tuesday. Eric replied to me very soon, able to come in on Friday noon for a quick inspection. Eric and a friend of his son came by and used their really cool extendable ladder to access my roof from the backyard. From there, Eric was able to very quickly diagnose exactly what was happening. Turns out, it was raccoons crawling all over my roof as well as my neighbors'. Eric even saw little footprints on other people's roofs, and he deduced that the raccoons would climb a tree next to one of my neighbor's houses and then hop onto their roof and go crawling all over. Eric showed me pictures of the vents on my roof. I had no idea we even had those! He didn't notice any fur or anything inside, so he said that it's good that they weren't living in my attic. They were just doing that Bay Area thing where you go to an open house to check out the spread but then realize it's all too rich for your blood! Eric sent out a work proposal with prices better than other ones that I've seen, and he was able to come in the following Monday with his son and seal up the entry points. They used what looked like a metal net to seal things up on the roof vents. Total times: -request sent on Tuesday night -responded early Wednesday morning -inspection Friday afternoon (10 minutes) -work taken care of Monday noon (less than an hour!) Eric said to text him if we hear anything in the future and he'll make time for us and take care of whatever we needed. All payment was done digitally, invoice sent to my email and able to be paid right off of my phone with my credit card. Quick and easy. Eric is a man of integrity, and I am very happy to recommend him. After three mouse sightings in my kitchen in recent weeks, I had to do something. I had two estimates before Eric, and both of them proposed major patching work to my basement and kitchen costing well over $1,000. This was disheartening, because I already had major work done about five years ago and thought all entry points were sealed. Eric inspected my kitchen and basement, and he said the mouse -- possibly just one that I saw three times -- was a fluke and that it possibly entered through the gap under my back door. He even complimented the work the previous exterminator did and said it is holding up. He fixed the problem with my back door on the spot by installing a threshold under the door to close the gap, costing a fraction of the other estimates. Time will tell whether the problem is fixed for good, but I am confident that this really was a fluke and I didn't need the major repairs. If I see any more mice or their calling cards after a few weeks, I will call Eric again and ask about a more aggressive solution. I trust him and appreciate his honesty. This review is long overdue. When I realized a rat had set up housekeeping in my home, my whole world felt like it was in crisis. Eric, the owner of this business, came highly recommended by other people in my community. I'm very glad I followed their recommendations, because, first of all, Eric's pricing was a fraction of what a national pest control chain like Orkin would have charged me. I literally saved thousands of dollars by calling Eric. Eric brought a lifetime of expertise to my situation, advising me on best practices for keeping rats away, and he "hardened" the perimeter of my home, sealing up every likely pathway a rodent could use for entering. Knowing what I now know, I think every home owner in my area would do well to have Eric do a walk-around and seal up those holes. When all others failed (and I mean all - 5 other companies and San Mateo County Vector failed), Eric was our guy and he succeeded! He came through with persistence and actual follow through when all others wouldn't return phone calls or told us it was our fault, incuding the SM County Vector Control Supervisor who threw up his hands and said "I don't know. I don't think you have rats." Two weeks after that comment, I installed cameras that showed rats coming into our crawl space between the siding and the foundation. When we realized we had rats in our HVAC we decided to get our roof sealed. But this trapped the rats and instead of staying in the vent or walls they started coming inside our home. We called another pest control company who sent someone who only inspected the outside. He placed a few traps on the roof and 2 indoors. He didn't do a thorough inspection of the inside of our home or identify any entry points. We contacted the company again and they told us to put more traps inside by ourselves and just wait 2 weeks for the rats to get caught. They said they could come earlier to check and helps us (for a fee) but there's no point because it will take 2 weeks to see results. There was no way we were going to live with these rats for another 2 weeks! So we called Eric and even though he was booked a week out he came and did an emergency inspection that afternoon. His emergency inspection cost double his normal rate but it was still cheaper than the other pest company we called. We told him we already had the roof inspected and sealed up but he wanted to do his own thorough inspection which we appreciate. He then did a complete inspection of our indoors and found some gaps under our kitchen cabinet that connected to our furnace closet. He suspected the rats were coming through there. He set a few traps for us and removed a dead rat that was caught in the trap set by the first guy. He also gave us a ton of tips and advice on dealing with the situation. We feel that Eric went above and beyond for us. Not only did he answer all our questions in person and through text, he gave us peace of mind. We plan to hire him to seal up those entry points and will absolutely hire him again for any rodent issues, but crossing our fingers we won't have to. P.S. to Eric - Haha! Yes, we covered up the entry points until you could seal them. The rat couldn't get out that way anymore and was trapped inside one of our closets overnight. Eric replied to my yelp post right away. He was very friendly. I told about the problem, and we scheduled the inspection. Besides the areas were rats were spotted he also asked to check all the apartments. He said he likes to be thorough. I really like the thorough part and arranged will all the tenants to be able to enter their apartments. On the day of the inspection, a guy named Tony came. He repeated 28 times that he can do 6 jobs in one day. Since the laundry room needs the door, he said it would take him 2 days to install it, and Eric will not let him work on it. He also repeated another 48 times that he is being paid by the hour, and that is why he is honest. I asked him what if I have my handyman install the door, and he would just fix any holes in laundry room and boiler room. Tony did not seem to want to do anything though. He finally agreed to provide an estimate. To my question how about being thorough and checking the apartments, he said it was not needed. And then no estimate came.
