Last year we paid $1,000 to Cruz of Do Right Rodent Proofing for his services to come rodent proof our property and he said it included for him to come weekly to check the Home Depot box traps he placed throughout our garage. He did not state how long the weekly checks would be and he did not come back to check the traps after his initial visit. I called to ask after a couple of weeks to ask what happened and he said he had a heart attack and would come back after a couple of weeks. He never came back. After several months I contacted him again and he said that his service ended with us as he only checks traps the first 3 weeks, but he never came to check the traps! After I complained he came back finally and removed all the Home Depot box traps and said there was no more activity. We still have rodent activity, ugh!!! Stay away from this business!!! Jonathan is an absolute professional and I couldn't be more satisfied with the work he and his team did for us. First, Jonathan corrected the rat proofing that was done incorrectly by someone else which resulted in rats coming in to our attic for the last couple of years unbeknownst to us! Second, he and his awesome crew took apart our deck, sanitized the entire floor area which was covered in rat droppings, put back our deck and completely sealed it to prevent the rats from returning. He is such a smart guy, coming up with a thoughtful and detailed solution for enclosing the deck. It actually looks better than before! You'll pay him a few hundred or however much he charges you, he'll come the first time to see what's going on, do a half-assed job on that day or on another day if he doesn't have the tools, he'll tell you that he will come back every week to monitor the traps until the problem is gone, and then you'll never see or hear from him again. I basically paid to have him come vacuum droppings and to put down some traps that I could have easily gotten myself. So if you wanna pay someone to come do things you can easily do yourself, Cruz is your guy! read more

Due to the recent storms that swept through the Bay Area I suddenly had activity up in my attic. Upon checking droppings everywhere and the source was a box of dog food that I had stored unopened still inside the Amazon box. However the critters still manage to bite through it and get to the food. So this was both a curse and a blessing. Prior to this and for the first time I had never stored anything perishable in the attic. The blessing is after calling around to hire a professional I was lucky to stumble upon Cruz. I had at least a couple of other businesses provide estimates and both, except Cruz, provided reasonable quotes and plans for what services they provide. In fact, one of them said my insulation at another part of the house needed to be replaced and disinfected! Completely unnecessary and dishonest. I felt that Cruz came across as personable and trustworthy. He listens and easy to work with. So I'm glad I went with the gut feeling. Cruz did a fantastic job in addressing my issues and completed everything he laid out to do and plan from start to finish. He located the source of where the rodents we're getting in and proofed the area. He's very thorough and very good at what he does. It was 8pm in the evening and I was throwing out my pizza crusts in the compost when a tiny black thing darted out from behind our indoor compost. Before I knew it, I was in a staring contest with a mouse. Cue girly shrieks and screaming (the mouse won the staring contest, by the way). If it wasn't so terrifying, it would have been cute. Against better judgement re-scheduled for 1/20. Arrived and put on some wire mesh/traps and again against better judgement paid in full. Never returned when he was supposed to check traps. Text message and phone call on 28th. Nothing. Phone and text on 30th. Nothing. Phone and text on 2/3. Nothing. Final message text and phone today on 2/5. Nothing. Cruz, the owner, has years of experience and provided us with the gentle support we needed during a time of stress. As a bit of a neat freak, I was shocked to discover rats in our home. After contacting Do It Right Rodent Proofing, Cruz validated all our previous efforts to eliminate rats with little success. Cruz and his team identified all the points of entry the rats were using and closed them off. They also cleaned the rate droppings, sanitized our home, set traps, and removed dead rodents. Cruz explained the four-step process his company uses and set appropriate expectations. He also informed us about the phase of the plan we were in during the rat elimination process. Cruz did a really good job sealing up our garage several years back. We had had other pest control people who had done some work to seal the holes in our garage but the mice came back. We contacted Cruz and he and his team were able to quickly identify more holes and sealed them up. He then regularly came by with new traps until we were sure that there were no more mice. Only now, 2-3 years later have I seen another mouse, and it's likely due to a new crack in our window from some other work. Very happy overall. read more

Oh you mean Do It Wrong Rodent Proofing? I called on Thursday for an appointment - went to a customer service line and received a call back from the tech scheduling me between 8 and 9am on Saturday morning. Great. Saturday morning at 8am.. nothing. 9am rolls around. Nada. Called the company at 9:30, 10, 10:45 (was hung up on) and 11 am and so on and so forth. All of my calls were redirected to their customer service line where I finally figured out (by asking) that they are a call center, can't do anything but flag your calls, have no access to a supervisor, etc. etc. etc. The people that answer the phones are so kind and polite but sound like robots.. YES, my phone number and address on file are correct, for the 4th time. I knew it was a remote call center because they don't sound like they're from the Bay Area.. call for yourself and tell me I'm lying. Completely unprofessional company and service to pull a no call/no show, not call back after my attempts being escalated, and the people behind the phone not being armed with any info other than "I will flag your call". Also, there's another number floating around (4157703174) does not work. Don't bother. Shots every time they ask me to verify my phone number. Double shots every time I hear the rat scratching at my ceiling. 10/10 don't recommend. Update: No one ever called me back. read more

We hired these guys last October to take care of a mouse problem. They came by for an inspection, set up 3 traps and installed some grating to prevent mice from entering. The initial quote given to me included adding some protection to our garage door as well as some ant traps but the person doing the installation didn't complete the job fully. However, this was rectified in a future visit. Their work comes with a 1 year guarantee. We were mouse-less for about 6 months before we saw signs in the house this spring. We contacted them and they came by to reinspect and set another trap. Fast forward a couple of weeks and there are new signs of mice and their traps have the bait gone but no mice caught. More traps are set and I was asked to text the owner with an appropriate time to check the traps. That was 3 weeks ago. No show on week 1. On week 2 he said he'd come the next day and week 3 is about to conclude tomorrow. My texts have basically been ignored for the last week and a half. There are no mice caught. I've been blamed for letting mice in through my garage door, which I have to open because... I have to take the car out. Furthermore I've had to purchase my own under door barriers because they didn't happen to consider that during the initial inspection. And also I've been accused of not setting aside an entire morning so that they can show up for a 5 minute inspection, which is more ironic when you consider how they've ghosted me. Hard to give a strong recommendation here given that the initial work did seem to have helped. But don't give a guarantee if you aren't willing to actually guarantee the work. read more

I have used Do it right rodent proofing back in March and it has now been four months and so far we have had no activity of any rodents . Cruz was very diligent in sealing all entry points. Though our rodent problem was minimal, Cruz left 2 boxes of Traps - we had to position the traps where we saw any droppings. The only thing I dreaded was checking the Traps so I would call Cruz to swing by to check the Traps & we only had one mice in the Trap. Hopefully down the road we will have no more issues, if ever I will be calling Cruz. read more

A month ago , after we took a vacation , we came back to our house to find a mouse or two at night scurrying through kitchen . We did our best to catch it with a trap , stop leaving out snacks , cleaning up the house and using peppermint packs , but we continued to see mice . We thought at first it was just one or two but we kept finding them in new rooms . It was beginning to feel overwhelming so we called up Cruz . He happened to be in the area so he came that day . He assessed the issue and confirmed by finding all the droppings that we indeed had a mouse infestation . He proceeded to seal up possible entryways around our perimeter as well as set up multiple traps . Within literally the first couple days he caught 7 mice ! It was very convenient as after we caught one , we'd just call him and he'd come the next day and replace it with a new trap . After just a few days , all the scratching noises we'd hear at night and mouse sightings completely vanished . It's been a month now and I'm happy to say it's nice not worrying about mice anymore .
