I did not use Alert Pest Control's services, so I cannot comment on their pest control work. However, I had an unpleasant interaction with someone associated with the business after parking in front of their location. The response was unexpectedly aggressive and escalated very quickly. I was spoken to in a disrespectful manner and profanity was used during the interaction. While I understand businesses may have concerns about parking, I believe customers and members of the public should be treated professionally and respectfully. I called these guys for my grandmas house. If you want to pay someone to just set one kill traps use them. But if you want to kill a small family . Their methods won't work were to set a few traps.. I hate to leave this review as the employees all seem friendly when you talk with them; However, dealing with them for anything outside of the immediate service is like pulling teeth. I will never use Alert again. First issue is minor but annoying. Alert was late to the appointment and didn't contact me. An hour after the end of the scheduled appointment, I called them and they said the tech would be there in another 15 minutes. No prior communication or apology for being over an hour outside the appointment window which made me almost late for work. Now for the more frustrating part. Alert charged me for unnecessary services and it was a nightmare trying to cancel them. I initially paid for Rodent Proofing. When the proofing was done they said they would come back to check on the proofing. Some time later they came again for a followup which was free as part of the proofing. I believed there would be a second follow up as they labeled the bill as Part 1. Next month they came again but this time they charged me. They said that this time wasn't part of the Rodent Proofing but that it was a separate paid monthly Rodent Inspection which cost something like $99. I told them there was a misunderstanding and showed them the Rodent Proofing contract which said that they would come back to the house FOR FREE within a year of the Rodent Proofing. The tech said that he was just a tech and would talk to his boss about it. A week later I receive an invoice asking to pay. I emailed back explaining that I did not want the monthly inspection. No response. I emailed them once a week for 3 more weeks until the payment deadline arrived. Only then did Alert respond and say that if I didn't pay I would get a late fee... I called and explained the situation. They said I still needed to pay and I finally caved, but I was clear that I did NOT want the monthly inspection. What is the point of paying for a monthly inspection when the Rodent Proofing contract already covers this for free for an entire year? A month later they called to schedule Part 2 of the Rodent Proofing followup (or so I thought). After the appointment, the tech asked me to sign. I clarified that it was free and the tech said that it wasn't. The monthly Rodent Inspection was a paid service... I DIDN'T WANT A MONTHLY RODENT INSPECTION. All they did was look at the still empty traps they had left as part of the proofing. They didn't even check all the traps because they were too lazy to check the trap in the space above the garage after I mentioned it was there. This time I explained that I already canceled the service and refused to sign. Shortly thereafter I received a bill which was signed anyway (with someone else's signature). This time I called them immediately and once again explained that I had no need for the monthly rodent inspections since I already had the 1 year Rodent Proofing guarantee. They agreed to waive the most recent inspection (but not the previous one) and send me confirmation that the monthly inspection was actually canceled. A month later I received a phone call asking to schedule my next rodent inspection. read more

Short version: Every ant in the universe was in our house. Francisco stopped by. Now there are no ants in our house. Longer version: I had been fighting the ant invasion for a few weeks. They would find a way in and overrun part of the house. I'd scrub and clean and make sure there was nothing at all appetizing for them. They would go away for a few days then somehow find the tiniest crumb of food and there would be hundreds of ants in the house again. It was incredibly frustrating and downright gross. I reached out to several highly rated services on Yelp. Everyone else either didn't respond or wanted to send someone to the house to look at the ants in.a week or two in order to give us a quote for what they could do later in the month to help. That wasn't going to work. Did I mention the ants were EVERYWHERE? It was so disgusting. So finally I talked to someone at Alert. After describing everything, they said it would take two initial visits to get everything under control, then optionally I could continue on with monthly visits to make sure the ants did not come back. Francisco stopped by the next day. At first, I was skeptical. I gave him all these theories about where I thought the ants were coming from and what they were doing. He listened patiently but was almost nonchalant about the situation. Then he calmly explained that my theories were very interesting but he was pretty sure I was wrong. As a professional, he had a good idea of what was happening, and that if I would trust him, he expected that after the first treatment he could get almost all of them, and then (as promised) by the second treatment they'd be gone. So I let him do his work. Just like he predicted, after the first treatment, I saw maybe 2 or 3 ants the rest of the week. Since the second treatment, I haven't seen any. We went from hundreds (thousands? millions?) of ants to no ants. Just like he said we would. read more

I hired alert for a clothes moth inspection. Art Barrientos completed the inspection and did a nice job. I paid in full for the inspection on the same day. I later contacted alert to speak to Art. Dennis at alert informed me that art no longer works at alert. That is not true. John. Juaregui, the manager at alert, then contacted me. John was extremely rude. He stated I was no longer a client of alert, even though I had paid in full for the inspection. He stated that my Neighbor falsified information on Art's informal inspection report. I was present when Art completed the informal inspection report, and all information was true incorrect. I have never worked with an organization that has been so rude and dishonest . And so we made a report to our landlord and they immediately sent Alert Pest Control. It takes 4 times of treatment but after one service of treatment only, almost all bedbugs are already gone! Warning. Don't hire these people! I got a quote from John and it was the lowest from a few pest control company. It turned out at the end that it costed me more than 3 times the cost plus a lot of trouble and headache. They started good. The guys came and treat the house for cockroach infestation and I paid them. 2 weeks later, the cockroach situation in the house was the same. I called them and they gave me the run around and said I had to pay them again before they can come again. I argued the I paid them the first time and they didn't get rid of the cockroaches. Why do I have to paid again? They were rude and didn't want to come back unless I pay the again. I caved in and agreed. They came again and treat the house again. 2 weeks later, the cock roach situation in the house was still the SAME. I called them again. They blamed us. They wouldn't come fix it unless I pay them again, which I already paid them TWICE ! They guaranteed me this time they will fix it but I still have to pay. They came to the house and treated it for the third time and I paid them. This time seemed to do the job and cockroaches were gone and didn't came back. It seemed they purposely didn't treated the house correctly so that they can charge me again and again. Please stay away from this pest control company at all cost and don't believe their words. They bill for things that are not contracted for or bid on and wrongly pull their equipment when they are being paid and under contract. They give the run around when called and have no proper management. They are not a company we could ever recommend. We have been managing and servicing buildings in the city and use many vendors. David has done a very thorough job treating our building for ant infestation. He's knowledgeable, friendly and has done his best to apply spray and pellets in crawl spaces and exterior spaces where ants may get in. This has all been done in a way that's careful and considerate to risks for small children and pets. Alert only cares about making money and not at all about their customers-- long term or otherwise. we discovered we had a rodent problem after discovering "droppings." we call Alert to ask for help. They insisted on 3x service situation but we assumed they would be reputable. the service guy came today, refused to deal with the droppings as this is "an additional Charge" and would not sweep up the droppings! We called David who said they need to get a picture of the poop to assess the cost! seriously, they want to add charges per .
