Three or four month laters, however, we had a different problem, so I called up Tyler, and he said his partner Ryan could come that same day for a reinspection. Ryan showed up and we walked through the house again in detail and discussed next steps. But rather than book a follow-up appointment, Ryan was kind enough to take an hour or so of his time and just perform the work himself, and all at no charge! We had an issue with rats due to recent construction in our neighborhood. They sent out a representative. I showed him areas of concern. He was very thorough and we discussed a plan. Due to miscommunication I was under the impression the entire exposed perimeter of our home would be rat proof when in reality 3/4 was completed and some of that wasn't up to our satisfaction. We took pictures and sent them to the representative, who advised us that I misunderstood about the entire perimeter, but agreed the areas of concern were not done correctly. Three techs later and it still wasn't done correctly. A manager came out and made empty promises to fix things and to discount work. Apparently he meant a discount for additional work at a cost to us. We asked several times for an itemized bill to explain the charges, and all we received was the original statement I hope Management takes this feedback seriously to improve communication and accountability skills.

Not butterflies and other vegetarians, just the ones that bite, sting or dine on your bodily fluids. Among these parasitic carnivores few are as detestable as fleas. It's something of a toss-up though, in the light heavyweight league which includes mosquitoes ticks chiggers bedbugs lice etc. Tiny, irritating, hard to be rid of once they've moved in. There is a true heavyweight insect division, however, creatures far worse. One so vile I hate to admit having ever contracted them, and more than once. I wonder if you've made the acquaintance yourself of the most terrible, miserable insect of them all... the scabies mite. You get these, quite frankly, by sleeping around however the circumstance with strange and perhaps only vaguely known persons. There, I've said it so now you know, or you already knew from personal experience. But enough of this ramble and on to why I advise you to contact Rich Love if you have an insect problem outside your home. Rich does a lot of work on large properties and farms, but certainly will take care of smaller sites as well. My own yard isn't large, but I had a bigtime invasion of fleas. They arrived on the raccoon that I have kindly allowed to live under my back deck during May/June to raise her brood. But these fleas got desperate when their host, "my" raccoon, left. After that, they somehow creeped into my house, likely crawling through the small airgap under my backdoor. I have dealt with fleas inside, but not when they keep reappearing. I quickly realized the damned things were all over my property and wanted me for their new food supply. This meant no more mr niceguy, time to get professional help. I like people who know agriculture, they're used to dealing with a variety of issues that need to be addressed asap before they get out of control. Rich Love is definitely qualified to deal with insect invasions whether they're in your yard, small orchard or vineyard. He came the morning after I called him, examined the problem with a professional eye, and within half an hour had done the work at a very reasonable rate. My flea problem is now history. On the service day, unfortunately we had an issue where the estimate was incorrect and they missed the correct sq ft of the house. Sam was able to provide a discount and we were happy to proceed. I called around all the top reviewed places and decided on Original Rodent Proofing. They were…read morecompetitive, not the cheapest, but Shannon Lee sold me on their work, along with Brandon (owner's) call to check in and answer any questions. Their warranty on work done was another key factor. An electrician found a dead rat and droppings in the attic, so I needed clean up and rodent proofing. In the crawl space, a bunch of the ducts were unattached by wear and tear and plumbing work that had been done in the past (which I didn't know. No wonder my gas bill was so high over the winter!). Shannon and team cleaned everything up, sanitized, reattached the ducts and rodent proofed the whole house on the outside. Apparently the attic was vulnerable, as prior owners' foam had been chewed through in the eaves. After they were done they set traps which will be checked every few weeks. I will update if there are any further rodents but I am confident in the work by the company and team. I highly recommend this family owned company.

The guy who came out was on time, a bit eccentric and very passionate about rats. He was detail oriented and did a great job explaining the job and its breakdown. Unfortunately on the day of the job, we had 4 guys come to our home on time- but none of them spoke English. Now, I appreciate them coming out, but we just could not communicate and they did not have work trucks or shirts with their company name. An hour later, we had a younger guy show up and he spoke English. The crew worked really fast, did a nasty job of removing our rodent infested insulation and put in new insulation, they mixed concrete and patched up some holes as well and put out rat traps. They came back twice to check the traps and removed them. I think they did a good job, appreciate their punctuality. But management should always send someone who speaks some English and provide a company truck or at least shirts. I personally felt uncomfortable letting into my home a group of random men with no identification.
