My A/C was making gurgling noises and the drain pipe had not been draining properly. So I called Otter to have someone inspect what was going on. Before Vlad, from Otter, arrived I had spoken with a different HVAC company who said I would need to replace the coil and condenser... the other company said that would cost close to $9,500. Whoa! So I looked up some other possible solutions. I tried cleaning the drain pipe and low and behold the A/C stopped making the gurgling sound and began dripping out the pvc drain pipe. I completed the fix just as Vlad was arriving. He confirmed that was likely the issue and did not suggest that I replace the coil and condenser. The first time, technician Vladyslav went into the crawl space to inspect our HVAC system and took a video. Since our old two-story townhouse has a somewhat flawed air system, there wasn't an easy or immediate solution he could promise. I really appreciated his honest and expert assessment--he didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. In the end, they also did not charge me a service call fee, which I thought was very professional. Several months later, we started hearing a strange noise from the HVAC system, so I called Otter HVAC again.
