American Array Solar (AAS) was fantastic to work with - right from initial quote request to PTO. Residential solar is a competitive marketplace and AAS was prompt, professional and transparent. Nicolas in sales was very responsive and easy to work with - answered pretty much all questions we had. Lorena from project management provided timely updates. When it came to actual scheduling and installation Adam & team were right on the money. From signing the contract to permit to installation it took about 3 weeks. Another week for inspection & then PTO was quick too. Installation crew arrived before scheduled time, installed in few hours, and cleaned up everything. Eduardo was spot on with final inspection - the city inspector told me that this was the first inspection that passed on first attempt. So kudos for doing great job without any corrections. Adam was just a phone call away with any questions and he updated regularly during the entire process. They provide tier 1 panels, are certified Tesla installer and provide great price. Their labor warranties are great too. Highly recommended if you're looking for local installer in the Bay Area. read more

Found American Array Solar from the EnergySage marketplace. Their quote was really reasonable and even though it wasn't the lowest quote, I picked them for my project because the rep Alam T was very responsive, and they are local and don't subcontract the work, and have industry leading 40 years warranty. read more

American Array Solar has been great, from install to service. After tons of research I found that I wanted to have REC solar panels with enphase micro inverter solar system installed. They not only offered great pricing but assured me through the design process of a quality installation. They did a perfect installation, as planned, and had it done quickly. I highly recommend them. read more

I had a battery upgrade. Adding 1 battery pack to an existing 2 battery packs making a total of 3. American Array Solar communicated well and kept their appointments on time. The installation, permitting and turn on went off without any issues. Thanks American Solar read more

I had a complex, risky solar residential project spanning multiple years and much uncertainty but I was lucky to find the right partner with American Array. Let me tell you what I had to deal with and how American Array helped. - Project started in 2023 to get into grandfathered NEM 2.0, but installation date was uncertain (at 1-2 years away). - House expansion (w/ additional roof) and remodel was planned, so solar installer needed to design solar panel layout and estimate electricity usage when new roof only existed in architecture drawings and no prior energy usage to estimate from. - House remodel did not start until mid-2024, so panels could not be installed until new roof was built in late 2024. - The home's electrical lines were underground, so trenching and conduit installation was required to replace the old 100A lines. This was a 1+ year timeline that required four PG&E inspections and lots of work. - Federal tax credit expiring end of 2025, so installation needed to be completed before 2026. Both American Array and I pushed PG&E very hard to get the inspections scheduled and clearly defined requirements, which you can imagine was not easy to deal with. I have friends who dealt with PG&E and there is no getting around their delays, no matter how much influence you have. Imagine having to deal with not one but four separate PG&E inspections! In the meantime I worked with American Array's electricians, panel installers and project managers. Everyone was friendly to deal with, answered my many questions throughout the process. It is nice dealing with real human beings who care about the quality of their work, so thank you. I specifically want to thank Mary from American Array who worked tirelessly on my behalf to get this project done. I really do appreciate your efforts and I hope you see this review!! read more

Words literally not express my gratitude towards Array Solar and Adam who did everything his power in order to help out. I was in a tough position when my original installer had gone out of business and I had a part fail 4 days after warranty exprired. He did everything he could to help me out, advised me on the fastest and cheapest options. And even called the Solar company to try to assist with replacement parts. Once the replacement part arrived to me, he had an installer out the next day to handhold me through the process of getting the part replaced and the system back online. When I expand my solar system Adam and Array Solar will be my absolute first call. Unbelievable service! THANK YOU! read more

Reached out to American Array Solar and Roofing. Got what seems to be an AI response and even asked for my phone number. Yet, absolutely no real response from a person. Seems disingenous to state you get a reply by a bot yet never get a follow up for a quote. Maybe my request somehow fell through the cracks, and my review can be an opportunity to improve their business. read more

American array did a good job and were able to finish the job despite some delays due to PG&E and they worked around it. When helps was needed, Adam helped to get installation issues fixed and was available for communication. Also on a holiday once they sent a resource to help when AC was not functioning after the new sub panel was added. There were initial hiccups in book keeping of accounts etc and comunication but overall they are reliable. read more

I was referred to Adam Khan of American Array Solar by a friend who had used them for a solar installation at his home. From start to finish, my experience was excellent. I obtained quotes from two other vendors, but Adam stood out for being thorough, transparent, and clear in explaining every detail of the proposal. The entire process was handled promptly and professionally. Adam also went above and beyond by accelerating the project so it was completed well before the December 31st deadline, ensuring I qualified for the solar tax credit before it expired. In addition, he took care of obtaining the permit for my previously installed EV charger, which did not meet city code. I am very pleased with their service and highly recommend Adam and his team at American Array Solar for any solar installation needs. read more

We can gladly provide American Array Solar and Roofing with our highest recommendation. It has extensive experience in roofing and also has skilled licensed electricians which we found to be very valuable for our solar project. Everyone American Array Solar and Roofing sent to our house was on time, skilled, qualified for what they were doing, hardworking and a pleasure to deal with. Likewise for the back office and other support staff. Lastly and importantly, compared to other companies we talk to American Array Solar and Roofing was also cost effective and high value. Again, we can highly recommend American Array Solar and Roofing. read more

I used American Array for my Solar and Roof in couple years back and the kind of support I got, specially from Adam was amazing. Not only the whole project went smoothly, any issues were promptly addressed. After install, the service from Adam was also prime. He was easy to reach and helped in any troubles I got with the system (had minor issues 2-3 times initially with Network). Now, since I moved to a new house, I am choosing to go ahead with American Array again. Not only the pricing is very reasonable, the people working there, like Adam, are not like the big-company-sales-robots. read more

Installed solar several years ago by AA. System itself continues to work well and has saved me a ton of money. My only complaint is the crew they used then could have done a better job. Had to call them back several times to repair related leaks in my roof over the following years. I credit them for being responsive to my calls for such under their 10 year warranty. read more

full disclosure My install goes in tomorrow! Im rating them so low because their sales propsal and my contract have different equipment. The proposal and talking them had different equipment than the contract. My fault for not reading the contract in full but the sales manager Omar told me its not their fault and it's my problem. I have 3 emails out to them asking them to call me to go over plans, all unanswered. I have proof that the contract and sales proposal is different. I hoping the install is excellent! However even if the install goes great I would avoid this company!!!! I filed a complaint with BBB. This is not how business should be run. See below pictures from the same docusign file showing where they changed the equipment. read more

We have had an American Array solar system for 4.5 years and love it. Their sizing and design of the system was the best fit of all the bids we received; and their price point was highly competitive as well. This year we ran into a warranty issue with one of the components in the system. I worked closely with Adam to troubleshoot the issue and his team was dispatched promptly to swap out another company's equipment when the problem was identified. American Array was proactive in helping us get running smoothly again in a "customer service" practice I wish was more standard. I did A LOT of work to find the right company for our solar project. I have no regrets in working with AA. read more

I first contacted American Array to have solar panels installed on my roof in 2022. In 2024, I had a couple of issues because of which my solar power generation system stopped working, and hence I contacted the company for help. Adam K was the person who hand held me through the entire process of arranging the logistics of having people over the go onto my roof to have the panels examined and faults identified. He ensured that the needed faulty part was quickly sourced and my system was repaired. When we saw another issue a couple of months later, he was able to remember specific details of the previous repair and guide the electricians accordingly This year, when I found that my consumption had been very high, and I needed to install a consumption meter to analyze my usage, Adam K once again directed me to the correct person, and enabled the quick installation of the consumption meter in record time. All of this while having a very cheerful demeanor and a positive can-do attitude. I feel secure in knowing that my solar power generation system is in safe hands and I highly recommend American Array and Adam K to anyone who wants to go the solar power route read more

Very bad experience. The solar and battery installation took nearly a year due to repeated mistakes. 1)I was told the system was changed from 460 to 450 due to panel shortage, but they installed 460 while all permits and paperwork still showed 450.2)Even after city inspection, issues continued. They altered the downspouts, causing leaks and water to flow over the batteries. 3)A month later, the batteries stopped discharging. Three crews have visited, and I am still waiting for a fix. My opinion, choose a reliable 5-star installer, even if it costs more. This was a hard lesson learned. read more

I recently had solar panels installed at my home by American Array Solar, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. One thing that really stood out to me was that they are a local Bay Area company, where I could actually walk into their Livermore office, drop off a check, or get my questions answered face-to-face. That level of accessibility made me feel confident I was in good hands. Adam Khan, Kim, and the rest of the team were fantastic to work with. Chatting with Adam really helped accelerate things for example, the PG&E meter change was completed just two days after the solar installation, which was so efficient. They answered all my questions, kept me informed every step of the way, and made the installation smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend American Array Solar to anyone considering solar. read more

I had a 6.1 kW solar panel system with a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery backup installed with these folks. All the work was done seamlessly including getting the permits and scheduling the inspections. The installation process for the panels (located on my roof) and the battery component went smoothly from start to finish. I found the people who actually did the physical parts of the job were professional and quite competent and answered the questions that I asked in a complete and understandable manner. I think the system was reasonably priced. Communications with Support was a little wanting but everything turned out just fine in the end. Just don't expect any 'hand-holding' along the way. Information concerning install times and the like were communicated in a timely manner. I would certainly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. read more

American Array Solar has completed three projects for me over the past three years; a new solar installation before NEM 3.0, an electric panel upgrade, and an addition to my existing solar array. I've been very happy with their work; their electrical implementation is solid and reliable. The original solar system they installed has been working flawlessly for over three years, and the upgraded panel has had no issues for more than two. All their work was done with proper permits, passed inspection without any modifications, and any minor inspector concerns were addressed promptly. Their pricing is also very competitive compared to many other quotes I received. For a couple of my support queries and for my last two projects, my contact person and project manager was Adam, and I can't recommend him highly enough. In fact, I'd recommend American Array primarily because of their technical staff and Adam's professionalism. He has consistently answered all my questions, big or small, even when they didn't lead to a sale. For example, when I noticed one panel producing less power than the others, he set up a Zoom call, showed me the house exhaust pipe shading that panel (causing the dip in production), and explained everything clearly. He's always quick yet courteous to respond, and transparent in his communication. Their corporate/office staff, however, could improve their communication. There were a few minor cases where I received conflicting information, but whenever that happened, I reached out to Adam, and he promptly resolved the issues to my full satisfaction. Overall, I highly recommend Adam and his team for their technical expertise, quality of work, and outstanding project management. read more

We had a great experience with American Array ! Super easy to work with, no pushy sales tactics, and they actually took the time to explain everything in a way that made sense. I am super impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness that I experienced with American Array Solar in general and Adam in particular. I had an old Solar installation that was having some issues. I called American Array Solar and promptly got a call back from Adam. From that point onwards, Adam and the American Array Solar team worked with me to identify the issues with my installation. Despite the fact that American Array was not the original installer, they went out of their way to contact the OEM on my behalf, got the RMA parts, fixed my problem in a very timely manner. If I ever have any roofing and/or PV/Solar project, I know I am only going to contact American Array Solar. Thank you Adam and the American Array Solar team. read more

American Array Solar installed a solar system with a battery at my home, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. The installation was carried out professionally, taking only two days to complete. Although there were some initial issues with passing inspection (we unfortunately got a very strict building inspector who kicked up fuss about some really minor issues), Alex and his crew were incredibly patient & persistent and resolved all the issues promptly. The system has been performing exceptionally well, exceeding my expectations. I have not encountered any issues with it since installation about a month back. Additionally, American Array provided me with a very competitive quote, making the entire process even more satisfying. Based on my experience, I highly recommend American Array Solar for anyone considering a solar installation. Their professionalism, persistence, and performance have truly impressed me. read more

Marissa was very helpful and answered all my questions with a happy and professional attitude. I value her opinion.

I had a solar installation in Fall of 2021, and it has worked out great. Their contract pricing was very competitive than other bids I received with better equipment quality. Design team led by Adam super helpful and responsive to suggested changes--this is what clinched the deal for me. Permits, installation, inspection all covered with ease. Install team absolutely professional the entire day and ensured everything looked great, including attic run and conduit painting. Most importantly American Array has been extremely responsive after my system has been installed. I had a minor service call request (one panel's microinverter needed to be fixed), American Array sent someone out next day and fixed the issue, free of charge. I'm considering an expansion system and Omar spent 30 minutes with me on the phone given my roof complexities and was super helpful. I've recommended American Array to friends and they've also been very happy with the solar quality--I am hoping we can make an expansion system work on our roof and definitely recommend them to you all on Yelp! read more

Here is my two year review of solar system installed by American Array. We installed our Panasonic / Enphase system back in late March in 2023. We signed the agreement back in January 2023 and it took about two months to get all of the approvals between PG&E and city of Fremont to start the installation. We went with American Array due to three reasons: price and "Elite" Panasonic authorized installer (highest rank installer from Panasonic) and A+ BBB rating. 8K watt system consisted of 20 - 400 watt panels with Enphase micro inverters and combiner. The system was based on Net metering where you try to break even after each year. Buy having American Array - Elite authorized installer, we were able have the system warranty covered by Panasonic - ALL Guard 25 year system warranty. Based on the great price offered for the 8K system and having a Panasonic Elite installer, we went ahead with the purchase. They also installed 4 other systems to my friends. Everything went well with the installation on the roof and the city approved the installation after ground rods were installed and connected to our cold-water pipes. The next approval was getting PG&E approve the connecting to the grid that took about a week. After two years of Net Metering service, we are happy to say our bill for electric only was reduced to about $20 per month that saved about $200-300 dollars per month. Based on the electric savings and 30% tax credit, our payoff is about 6-7 years ! One warranty repair issue just recently was the communication board on the Enphase box has failed and we are unable to monitor the hourly/daily production of the system. I confirmed the energy being generated is still being monitored with PG&E. Enphase parts are arriving shortly to replace the bad communication board and American Array has scheduled the warranty repair shortly in the next few days. read more

We decided to get the solar system installed on our metal-roofed house in late October 2025. No solar company was willing to do it. Finally, I contacted Adam at American Array Solar, and he agreed to install solar panels and a power wall. I wanted to get the project done by the end of December 2025. He was my point of contact for the project. He promised to get the project completed in a month. He started the process in the first week of November 2025 and got it completed in the first week of December 2025. It was an amazing experience. Adam helped to get the system installed and operational with the City and PG&E PTO approval within a month. Inspection was delayed by a week due to rain in November; otherwise, it would have been done even sooner. I am now enjoying all the benefits of solar energy. I highly recommend American Array Solar for the solar system. read more

Leaving this review almost year and a half after the install. I've heard many horror stories from my friends with other installers where it took them a year to get PTO. However, with American Array, I went from signing contract to PTO in 6-7 weeks, that too over the holidays. It helped that most things were standard in my install. However, in a couple of things that weren't, Adam was amazingly quick in his response and we were able to work that out pretty quickly so that the install went pretty smooth! read more

Worst customer services, they keep rescheduling my appointment without letting me know about it. I took 2 days off because of that. I was a little skeptical when I first got the really competitive quote from this company, so competitive that I thought it was a scam. I then ran all due diligence and decided to proceed with this company. The roofing work done was of quality. The materials employed are very high quality and the roofers are experienced. I would not worry about the price being too good to be true as I know in the industry, a lot of roofers initially quote low and rack up the prices during the project. What is listed and what is discussed with this company, in writing, whether by email or contract was enforceable in good faith in my scenario. But best have everything in the contract. THE ONLY CAVEAT is that I would put down everything I wanted done on my roof to get a quote prior to the beginning of project. A level of research is necessary to ensure that all bases are covered and don't be afraid to ask questions. This company answered a lot of questions as we went back and forth entering new information in the contract. They were patient and once roofing started, the project was completed within 2 business weeks. (My roof was a little big so it took longer than a week). But please RESEARCH RESEARCH and quote EVERYTHING I.e. rafter tails, or Burlingame code to install plywood, how many layers you have to remove etc. prior to starting your project. read more

Shout out to the many great folks at American Array: Adam the project manager, Nick the lead electrician, Silverio the roofing lead, Alam the salesperson, and many other technicians and back-office employees. If you pick American Array for your project, ask for these folks, and they'll take good care of you. I hired American Array to install a photovolatic solar array, batteries, backup system, and a asphalt shingle re-roof. I'm an involved homeowner that likes to know how every detail is handled to make sure that I get the best possible result over the lifetime of the work. Before signing the contract with American Array, I did substantial research and got multiple quotes from other companies. American Array had a very competitive quote, and what sold me on them being a reliable installer was that: 1) they were a local installer that does not subcontract out their work 2) they were responsive to my questions and requests 3) they are local and based in the Bay Area 4) they are licensed, Enphase certified, GAF certified, Panasonic EverVolt certified, and I was able to verify their certifications As the project planning and permitting got underway, Adam and Nick were patient, professional, and were clearly striving for perfection. Any big complicated project is bound to have a few hiccups along the way, and they promptly took care of every issue and made things right. I was pleased by how I could call Adam, Nick, or American Array's main office and immediately get a live person on the phone, and they would figure out a way to make things whole within a day or two. Adam and Nick also entertained all of my questions and requests, and went above and beyond to ensure that I was satisfied with the work. Their work passed the many required city inspections (almost 10!) with flying colors. I myself also inspected the work, and I was pleased by the quality of their work. Kudos to Nick on the expertly done battery and backup work, which was the most complex part of the project. My system has been fully operational for a few weeks now, and the electrical meter has barely registered any consumption from the grid thanks to the solar system. The system has been performing well, and I can rest easy knowing that if something were to happen down the line, I can quickly and easily get it resolved by American Array. Rough timeline of the work: T+0 week: sign paperwork and pay the deposit T+1 week: site visit and survey T+5 weeks: plan sent to city permitting department T+10 weeks: permits issued: city had very strict permitting process T+11 weeks: re-roof completed and finaled T+13 weeks: panels and batteries installed T+17 weeks: final inspection successfully passed and permission to operate received. Final held up by inspections from multiple departments read more
