I recently had my roof replaced with First Tier Exterior (with Miguel as the project manager). From the initial estimate Miguel was professional, informative, and receptive to what I was looking for in replacing my nearly 30 year old roof. Despite having met with eight different contractors I ultimately felt most comfortable with and decided to proceed with Miguel and First Tier. Overall I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. The project was completed in two days and the quality of work seems to be of high standard. I have since received many compliments on the updated roof and will continue to recommend Miguel and First Tier to my friends and family. read more

We had a great experience with First Tier Exterior for a fairly extensive stucco repair project. Once work began, they discovered two layers of existing stucco, which made the job more complicated than expected. They clearly explained what they found and handled the additional work professionally. The crew was experienced, hardworking, and paid close attention to the underlying waterproofing and construction details. The finished stucco looks excellent, and they also did a thorough cleanup afterward. Bruce, Felix, and the team were responsive throughout the project and easy to work with. Overall, we're very happy with the quality of the work and would definitely recommend First Tier Exterior. (p.s., we specifically didn't really care if the color should be a perfect match to the old stucco) read more

Was in the market for a new roof, came across this company. Easy to set appointment. Their team was well equipped and friendly. The price we got was reasonable compared to other places. We got Robert as the project manager. They even told us to stop by their office to check out their show room where we were able to pick out the style/color of roof! Very informative to help make our decision. read more

Alex came on time and thoroughly inspected our roof and explained what he saw and how we should go about getting it fixed. I was extremely happy with the details and the professionalism. He was clear and didn't have any up selling add one. I would call and get a quote for any roofing needs from them, they are trustworthy! With the multiple different quotes I was getting from other roofing companies, Alex came in at an extremely fair price for what we needed! read more

It was time to get a new roof, so we gathered multiple estimates from different roofing companies. From the start, we felt the most comfortable with First Tier Exterior. Robert was awesome and managed the entire project from beginning to end. He is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to help us understand the process and the materials, which gave us a lot of confidence in our decision. The crew was professional and efficient, and they completed the entire roof in just two days. We're very happy with the results and would highly recommend First Tier. read more

We called First Tier Exterior for a quote for Hardie Board Siding on our home. Miguel and Bobby went over our options and listened to what we wanted. They were both the nicest people and very knowledgeable. They gave us a lot of information. The job is out of our budget at this time, but we really appreciated their time and information! read more

We've used First Tier and Robert for several projects now including refreshing a 20 year old tile roof and several stucco maintenance/repair projects. The workmanship has been excellent and held up to the storms we've had. Additionally, for more emergent issues, they're fast to evaluate and mitigate damage while arranging for the proper fixes to be done. The price and warranty are good value for what they've done IMO. They also do custom exterior decor to keep the house up to the HOA standards as needed, and with material and workmanship that looks better than the original crappy fake shutters that were around the windows. :) read more

Jeremy, Alex, and Leo at First Tier Exterior are awesome to work with and I highly recommend them! We essentially needed to replace the front half our roof. After getting a few quotes, we ended up going with Jeremy and First Tier based due to their comphrehensive plan that included mitigating pooling areas on the roof, fixing stucco, and lining up the permit process at a reasonable price. During the process the team sent me pictures of the progress and the findings they encoutered as the opened up the roof. I felt like was kept in the loop with the progress at all times and nothing was ever a surprise. They found a few things that added some slight additional cost, however these were noted during the quoting process as possible issues that the team might unconver once they opened up the roof. I am actually pretty amazed by the whole process at First Tier Exterior. 1. They were able to give me a quote the day the came out after inspecting the roof 2. They were upfront of potential cost creeps they might encounter AND what the cost would be if they did 3. They sent pictures of their progress and any issues they encountered 4. They were on time every day 5. They responded quickly to any questions I had 6. The final cost and project finish was within the expectations they set from the intial quote Cant thank the team enough for a smooth project! read more

We hired First Tier Exterior to give our house a face lift. They removed some outdated and shabby areas of battenboard, applied a skim coat (a new surface for the stucco) to the entire exterior of the house and repaired and painted all the trim and exterior doors. They even constructed and applied a decorative gable feature that we requested. Our house looks brand new now! What we loved most about First Tier Exterior is that they have teams of employees skilled in different areas so they can complete ALL aspects of the job. That way, we didn't have to be in the position of coordinating different companies and workers (who then blame each other for problems with the job!) The company is employee-owned, so everyone has a vested interest in the success of each project. As a result, First Tier Exterior was very meticulous about the job they did and they were very mindful of our satisfaction with the final product, even returning a few times to touch up small details after we had made the final payment. My husband and I are very pleased with the work they did for us. read more

Mahoni, Udiel & their crew did a great job replacing our roof. The job started in March 2025. Out of the multiple contractors we reached out to for quotes, Mahoni's team was the hungriest. They came during a rainy day to show us the samples. We then visited their shop and were impressed by their knowledge. They were also the only one with inventory of the roof material we wanted. Our project was complicated because we had to remove our solar panel first before the roof replacement. We were also changing our electric main panel, which required replacement of the electrical mast. Mahoni's crew worked around all the complications and scheduling challenges, and finished the job. When we found issues with part of the roof installation, Mahoni's team came back and fixed the issue. We were pleased that they meant what they said "We will give you a great new roof and fix any issues you might find". Overall, we were pleased with Mahoni's team and their work. read more

I would like to thank Robert Aymelek and his team for the great service provided. They replaced my 25+ year old roof with a new Malarkey and fixed some wood structure. Robert is the best PM I've worked with, because of his professionalism and responsibility. He came to the site every day multiple times to make sure the projects went as planned. He communicates with me timely to explain every step whenever anything changes that need my decision. During the project I climbed up to the roof multiple times and I'm 100% convinced that they used quality materials and the roofers did top notch installation work (as they promised). Before I chose First Tier Exterior I have shopped around 5 roofing companies. Even though First Tier is not the cheapest, but obviously they provided the best value and I signed the contract in just 30 minutes. Specially, I like the complete transparency and zero hidden fees in their proposal. read more

First Tier Exterior completed our exterior renovation project professionally and within a timely manner. Project manager Bobby Blake was fantastic to work with. He communicated each step of the project and was always easy to reach by phone or text. Our home is over 100 years old, so we knew there would be surprises. We felt the pricing to replace wood for all the wood rot our home had was fair and competitive. We had our roof replaced, and new windows, siding and painting. We love how everything turned out. The crew was great at cleaning all of the construction material out of our yard and completing finishing touches on the project. They even fixed our fence! Thank you First Tier Exterior - The Team that finally solved my water intrusion nightmare as a first time home owner I want to give a huge shoutout to First Tier Exterior for stepping up when nobody else could. About 3 months ago, I noticed water leaking from a crack in the ceiling above my garage door. At first, it seemed like an isolated stucco issue, but things kept getting worse. I contacted the HOA (First Service Residential), and after a water test on Feb 28, the contractor concluded the leak was coming from holes in the railing joints. After weeks of back and forth with the HOA about whether this was their responsibility or mine (they ultimately ruled it was mine, per the CC&Rs), and even trying to reach out to the developer (KB Homes--no luck, since I'm beyond the 10-year warranty), I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and hire First Tier Exterior. And I'm so glad I did. Miguel from First Tier Exterior who was an amazing project director to work with, scoped out my work and gave me a reasonable pricing. He was very attentive to my concerns and details, and absolutely communicative. On 4/15, he got his crew to come in to begin the fix, starting with removing the stucco around the visible cracks. Right away, they discovered the root cause was not just the railing joints--it was also the wood structure forming the ledge above the garage that was allowing water in. Their attention to detail, transparency, and professionalism really impressed me. While others either misdiagnosed the issue or passed the buck, First Tier Exterior actually found the real cause and started fixing it. I feel incredibly relieved and confident the issue is finally getting resolved the right way. If you're dealing with persistent water intrusion or exterior issues and not getting anywhere with HOA or the original builder, I highly recommend reaching out to them. Knowledgeable, responsive, and honest--exactly what I needed read more

During the first rain of the season, we experienced a roof leak and called First Tier Exterior to investigate the issue. We suspected that the leak was caused by the solar panels we had installed in the summer. Alex came over to inspect the roof and determined that the deformed flashings were causing water to seep through along the walls. Despite our suspicions about the solar panels, he seemed confident in his assessment. He quickly installed a tarp and used asphalt to patch the leaks as a temporary solution until the flashings could be replaced. His diagnosis proved to be accurate, as we did not experience any leaks during the subsequent heavy rain. Later, Alex had a crew come in to install new flashings, redo the stucco, and replace the shingles in the affected area of the roof. The crew did excellent work, and the repairs are virtually undetectable. Of the three companies we contacted, Alex was the only one who correctly identified the problem. He kept us informed throughout the entire process and personally checked on the progress of the repairs. Overall, we are very satisfied with the outcome--our roof no longer leaks, and we feel confident in its condition. read more

I had a leaky window and called several different companies to take a look. First Tier Exterior gave me by far the best and most thorough proposal. My project manager Alex T. was responsive and professional throughout the whole process. He explained what the cause of the window leak likely was and walked me through how his team would fix it. The same day he did the initial inspection, he sent over a detailed estimate. Alex stayed in touch by text and phone call to answer all the questions I had. It's not always easy getting responses from contractors, so I appreciated how patient and respectful Alex was when answering my questions. He was also transparent about the costs of the project and didn't try to upsell me on things I wasn't interested in. The stucco lead Felix was also great to work with. He completed stucco demolition and replaced our water barrier paper all in one day, and his work was very neat and clean. I'm glad that I called First Tier Exterior. They offer excellent service and workmanship, and I'll be sure to call them for my other stucco, window, and roofing needs in the future. read more

Recently completed a re-roofing on a residential in the San Leandro area. We are very pleased and satisfied with the excellent job done, and the pricing offered for the project was reasonable. It was very professional, and from the beginning, I met with Jeffrey, the Project Manager, who sat with me and went over how the entire process worked and showed what materials I wanted along with other options. From there, Luis, the Scheduling Coordinator, handled the scheduling and payment. Both regularly kept in quick touch and ensured the project went over smooth. Any issues we had over payments, quality concerns, and so on were promptly addressed, and the entire project went relatively quick with minimal disruptions. Overall, I would highly recommend to others, which I have already done and will continue to do so, as this company offers a great price, is very professional, and will ensure high-quality workmanship and satisfaction will be had. read more

Working with this crew was a nightmare. I initially dealt with David to get a quote and outline the project details. I made it clear from the start that my roof replacement was urgent because my home insurance required the work to be done before the end of last year to renew my policy. David promised they could meet the deadline; otherwise, I would have gone with another company. I have confirmed few times before signing the quote. I signed the contract on 11/12, giving them plenty of time to prepare. Based on our conversations, I expected the work to be finished within the first week and no more than two weeks. But once I signed and paid the deposit, everything went downhill. I expected them to take proper measurements, order all necessary materials in advance, and be ready to start work immediately once scheduled. I even reminded them not to tear off my existing roof during raining days unless they could guarantee completion within a week. They assured me there would be no issues. But when problems arose, the project manager started dodging my calls, making excuses, and blaming crew shortages for missed workdays. When I escalated the matter to Mahoni and Miguel, the so-called bosses, they were blatantly disrespectful and flat-out refused to send anyone, even on clear sunny days, claiming they were overloaded with other projects. And it sounded like I was bagging them to complete my roof project. I might have had some sympathy, but their poor planning and project mamagment isn't my responsibility, they should have managed their workload before taking on more jobs than they could handle. I asked them to cancel my contract so I could hire someone else, but they ignored me for days. I was so helpless during that time. In the end, while the roof was eventually finished on 1/24, it was far too late. I was forced to switch my home insurance because of their total negligence, as they failed to complete the work before the 12/30 deadline. I spoke with them many times with no answers during the process. To make things worse, the interior of my roof suffered damage, and they showed zero accountability for it. It's not like I chose a bargain contractor and they were expensive, and yet the customer service and project management were shockingly bad. The bosses and crew made no effort to compensate for the delay or help the customers as promosied. Meanwhile, a friend of mine started a similar roofing project around the same time with a different contractor. Her roof was similar size as mine, yet her team completed the entire job including a free gutter upgrade in just five days and her price was 40% cheaper than mine. I rarely write reviews, but would like to share my unpleasent experence with you all. read more

We had an excellent experience with First Tier Exterior, specifically our project manager Eddie, the whole crew (headed by Artemio), and our painter Eric. We had old cedar shingles on our back exterior siding that were degenerating and even falling off the house. Eddie and team reached back out to us promptly, visited and provided a detailed quote, and then scheduled the job to get done ASAP. As they installed the James Hardy siding, the team even reinsulated the upper floor as it had been done shoddily before. Throughout the installation process, the team worked diligently to protect the space from rain (it's been a rainy couple months in the Bay Area), and they were speedy on all fronts. Overall, we're thrilled with the way our new back siding looks! read more

Roof and truss installation completed 12/23/2024. Background: My family and I lived in our parent's mobile home for 30+ years. Our roof hadn't been fully replaced in a long time. We've been repairing it, DIYing, and patch up roof fixes from time to time but never got the roof shingles remove and replaced, until now. Eventually, our roof started leaking and our ceiling and walls are showing signs of water damages. The ceiling started having brown water spots, and some of the walls showed early warps. I had to get a professional roofer to fix our home. After extensive searches for local bay area roofers and reviewing all the reviews, I decided to work with First Tier Exterior because of their quality of their work and positive reviews. Experience hiring and working with First Tier Exterior: We had a severe roofing case because of dry rot damages to the plywood and truss. Not sure if First Tier Exterior ever had to work on a mobile home case like this, but they were up for the challenge. Bottom line: First Tier Exterior roofers do not cut corners and do everything by the book with up-to-state inspection code. They use premium quality materials to fix our roof and their work speaks for itself. The drawback with them is their communication process. If they can improve on that, then that shouldn't be a major concern. Thank you, First Tier Exterior, for giving us a new roof, just in time. Huge shout out to Anthony, Jeremy, Artemio, Luis, Johnny, Freddy, and the rest of the team! Note: (Feb. 6, 2025) I had to wait a big rain season to come by and test out our new roof. I'm glad to say that everything is still holding up, no leaks, no water damage! read more

My experience with first Tier was a little surprising. They came out to give me an estimate on my repairs. I had already gotten 3 estimates so I sort of knew the the range of the cost for my roofing repairs. The estimate guy called me back and instead of telling me that they were not interested in repairing my project, he gave me an outrageous estimate cost that was and believe this when I say $35,000 to 40,000 more than my other 3 contractors estimates. I stopped him while he was talking and I said WHAT?? You gotta be kidding me. I am not asking for a new roof but just repairs. It was totally outrageous not even a new roof is $50,000 is what he quoted me for my repairs and in the future when I need a new roof I would never trust this company my project. I was totally blown away about what he had told me. read more

Outstanding service from Robert from First Tier. We called to inspect a roof leak and provide an estimate. He arrived on time and quickly assessed the situation. He provided a couple of options, and strongly recommended the more affordable option. We appreciate his honesty, as we received previous estimates that were pushing for more costly solutions. Robert even offered to provide tips so that we can do the repairs ourselves in the future, and I accepted his guidance. As he was doing the patching, he talked me through the work and did a thorough job of checking the whole roof. We are satisfied with the work and especially the customer service. read more

After postponing my roof project after so many years, I finally decided it was time for change. My home had 40+ yr old tiles with zero plywood underneath. While it's held up fine during this recent rainy season, I didn't want to risk it next winter. My parents' roof also needed to be replaced, so why not get both done at the same time! I checked out a few companies, and First Tier really jumped out. Eddie, the project manager, came by to check out both homes. He was extremely knowledgeable about the process and explained the different roofing options to me. Eddie was able to draft up the quote right on the spot so we didn't have to wait very long. I was concerned about the debris from the tear down process since I knew I didn't have pre-existing plywood, all the debris would fall right into my garage. He offered to have his crew tarp my personal belongings to protect any broken tiles or debris from damaging my belongings. After thoughtful consideration, my parents and I felt most comfortable with First Tier. Eddie and Johnny (office manager) were in constant communication with me the entire process. We communicated mostly through group text, which was very efficient and responsive. Eddie checked in frequently to give updates and check how things were going on my end. My parents' home had some wood rot and they informed us immediately prior to any repair. They wanted to be as transparent as possible and provided photos since most of the rot was on the 2nd floor of the home. Once all the repairs were made, they painted the wood to match the color of the home. They made sure everything looked brand new. First Tier, not only does roofing, but they are a construction company that can basically do it ALL. Stucco- Felix is the man with SKILLS. Paint- They have an in-house painter too. We had some additional repairs needed too and First Tier was ON IT. Eddie and his team (Jeremy included) really pride themselves in ensuring the customer is happy and they want you to just sit back and relax. They definitely go above and beyond in making sure you are happy with the final result. Great job First Tier! read more

These guys are great! Bobby came up by really quickly when I was struggling to find someone to help fix my old house.
