We had a seamless experience using Top Tier from getting a consultation up through inspection. We opted to do presidential shingles since the company is certified to install Certainteed, and presidential shingles are more difficult to install. Gil provided a detailed breakdown of the quote and explained to us about the roofing process which made us decide to move forward with them. Communication has always been immediate as well. They handled all the permits and inspection so we didn't have to worry about that. 3 workers came and installed our roof and were respectful cleaning up after themselves every day. We really appreciated that since I've heard stories of roofers leaving large messes! I recommend Top Tier if you're in search for a new roof, we couldn't ask for a better experience and we love our new roof! read more

This review is long overdue--we've had our roof from Top Tier Roofing for over a year now, and I wanted to wait to see how it held up through all the weather before writing. I am thrilled to say we haven't had a single issue or problem since day one. Working with Gilbert and the owner, David, was an absolute breeze. Everything we asked for or needed during the project, David and Gilbert specifically made sure was taken care of without any hassle. Beyond the quality of the work, what really stood out to us was their reliability and great communication, which is so hard to find with contractors nowadays. They kept us in the loop every step of the way and always followed through. This was easily one of the best contracting experiences we've ever had. I only wish they did other home projects because I would definitely hire them again in a heartbeat! Huge thanks to David, Gilbert, and the whole team at Top Tier Roofing. read more

We recently purchased a home and there were some recommended roof repairs from our inspection report, so we reached out to Top Tier Roofing to receive a quote for the repairs. They were incredibly quick to respond and scheduled a free walkthrough within a day. Porfirio was the project manager that came out to our home, took comprehensive photos, and generally told us that our roof was still in very good shape and we'd be okay until a roof replacement a few years down the line. He was so kind and also explained to us the different options we could consider when we would eventually replace our roof. Thank you Porfirio! We'll absolutely be using Top Tier Roofing when we're ready for a roof replacement. read more

Top Tier was able to quickly squeeze me into a small scheduling window. Porfirio came out to my house to determine the source of leak. He arrived early, was professional, extremely courteous - AND honest. Pricing was beyond fair. I've had some bad experiences with service provides but not this time. I recommend Top Tier to those who have roofing needs. Thanks a bunch. read more

Top Tier Roofing replaced the roof of our home and ADU in summer 2024. David Weber has a great group over at Top Tier Roofing, including Gilbert who came out to take a look at our 25 year old roofs and provided us with a reasonable quote. David and Gilbert were there every step of the project. I live in the Santa Cruz mountains and David still made the time to travel almost every day to make sure our project was running smoothly. My wife and I are first time homeowners and I feel like David did a great job addressing all our concerns including all the heavily rotted wood that needed replacing. This summer (summer 2026), we had a tree branch fall on our ADU roof and caused some shingle and underlayment damage. Top Tier provided a decent quote to come out to repair the damage. The team repaired the damage within 30 minutes of arrival. There's a reason they are highly rated. You won't be disappointed in hiring Top Tier for your next roofing projects. I heard they now also have a gutter and downspout replacement team. We may use them for all our future gutter/downspout related projects. read more

I had a roof inspection for a small leak. Porfirio was awesome and very honest! He found the culprit and fix the problem. I have solar panels and was afraid that the leak was from them but that wasn't the case, thankfully! I have had a previous experience with Top Tier with another problem which turned out to be dry rot on the fascia not the roof itself, which other roof contractors had recommended my roof to be replaced. Please if you need a roof or repair call Top Tier and get an estimate with them before you go with another roofing company and spend unnecessarily large amount of money which you may not need! read more

I needed a roofing repair for a small leak, I called two companies, second company was Top Tier Roofing. Gilbert the foreman came the next day, very pleasant and responsive. Gilbert's estimate was 3 times the cost of the first estimate but Gilbert identified several areas of concern that the first roofers did not indicate. For example Gilbert indicated I needed a saddle around my chimney something that the original roofer never installed. Plus several other areas of concern. It took awhile to schedule everything by Gilbert kept me informed through out the process. The repair team was excellent and also kept me informed throughout the day. The repair person (Hob), took extensive pictures and showed me the before and after of each section repaired. I would highly recommend this business even though I thought they were a bit high on the estimate.. but quality of work was again excellent. read more

Gil is very friendly and responsive (even when he is on vacation) in coordinating the roof repair damage caused by Solar Panel installation. Due to rainy season, he sent out a crew to put a tarp over the area in question to prevent further damage. The repair crew was also very courteous and professional and finished the roof work in one and half day. Thank you Gil and team. read more

I highly recommend Porfirio with Too Tier Roofing for any roofing needs. He did an excellent job replacing and resealing several broken roof tiles. He was professional, reliable, and paid great attention to detail. He made sure the repairs were done properly and left everything clean and in great condition when he finished. I really appreciate his quality of work and would definitely call Porfirio again for any future roofing needs. Great service from start to finish! read more

My roof was at least 23 years old -- no leaks, but pieces of shingles would periodically come off during very windy conditions and I decided to replace it before what might be a very rainy winter. Top Tier was recommended by a professional who wasn't technically allowed to recommend... I requested a quote from them and one other company. Gil's quote was a bit higher (he told me to expect that), but he noted things during the inspection that the other guy didn't. Turns out I didn't have any venting in my attic (!) and my garage was short on vents. I opted for a Solaris roof to help ease the heat a bit, and a ridge vent. The roof was installed in June and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Gil and Roxanne kept me informed, answered all my questions (very patiently) and the installers were so nice. I'm going to feel secure and snug as a bug this rainy season. I absolutely recommend Top Tier. read more

Our clay tile roof needed a quick repair before incoming rain and Top Tier was ready and happy to help. Not only did Porfirio fix the tile, he proceeded to fix all other tiles that had slid out of position. Amazing service without an ask - very rare! The bottom line: we really appreciate how Top Tier provided a professionally honest assessment and then went beyond expectation. The value of such a relationship between business and customer is hard to come by, and we will most certainly use Top Tier for all future work. Without doubt, we will refer them to anyone needed roofing services. Absolutely TO BE TRUSTED. read more

The only upside to a roof leak? Finding a solid roofer!! Our house which we bought it recently leaked twice in two different spots over the past couple years, yeah, not fun! I didn't even know about Top Tier Roofers, turns out they're literally our neighbors, until our HOA put me onto them. Both times I called, I talked to Gilbert, and honestly, this guy is legit. Super quick to respond, always on time, and really went out of his way to help us out. Just good people, and he definitely knows his stuff. He sent his crew out both times and they took great care of everything. Even though our HOA covered the bill, I can tell their prices are fair that's probably why they've been working with them for years. If you need a roofer, these are your guys. Gilbert is good people and great at what he does. read more

Mr. Porfirio, the project manager, arrived on time with his folder and was very polite and honest. He inspected a leak and quickly identified a potential problem area. He offered to seal it at no charge. The area was sealed very well--other roofers who visited later even commented on how well it was done. If I ever needed to replace a roof, I would strongly consider choosing them for their honesty and professionalism. read more

I called Top Tier Roofing to come out and do an inspection on my roof for my home owner's insurance. Porfirio came out and was outstanding. He is a true professional and even helped to put back some of my cement tiles that had slid out over the years. Update: Shortly after posting my review I was contacted by the owner to discuss my experience with his company. He listened at length, explained the companies process as it relates directly to my roof and slope and listened to my reasoning behind questioning a referral to another company with mediocre reviews. He was polite, attentive, knowledgeable AND willing to assess his practice for referral to other companies. We talked for a considerable amount of time. I am upgrading my review to 5stars. Speaking with this company to address concerns is EXACTLY why I wanted to work with them in the first place and why they have a 5star rating. I would ABSOLUTELY refer Top Tier Roofing because if they are this conscientious about a review just image how they perform work!!! read more

I was told by a contractor that mold in my bathroom was due to a roof leak. Top tier came in 2 days to inspect my roof. I was in the market for a roof replacement for my home. I talked to a few local roofing companies, and decided on working with Top Tier. I talked with Gil, the General Manager and he was amazing to work with. He came to may house and explained the type of roof I had. The type of shingles I could purchase. The work that was going to be done and how long it would take. Gil made the entire process easy. One the day work was to be started, they showed up on time and got right to work. They completed the job like a well oiled machine. Organized and efficient. My daughter and I came home during the first day of the removal of the roof, and the workers were very nice and respectful. On the second day, Gil called to let me know of some wood rot and the stucco they had replaced. And offered to re-paint those areas that stucco was replaced. Luckily I had the paint that was needed. One of his workers came after the roof was finished and painted that are for us. Overall, I am very very happy with the work they completed. Working with Top Tier was a GREAT experience. I highly recommend them!!!! read more

Top Tier Roofing was a wonderful company to work with. Communication throughout the job was excellent and I was kept informed and any questions I had were promptly answered. Top Tier Roofing re-roofed my home 3 years ago. My roof had a nasty leak in the garage where the roof, a wall, and the balcony intersects. They did a very good job overall, and they actually fixed the leak in the first try. I held back my review because I wanted to make sure that it will not leak during a long down pour, but so far so good, so I'm very happy. Their pricing were very fair and everything was done professionally. Recently, I accidentally damaged a ridge cap shingle by leaving a heavy metal object during a heat wave. It melted the shingle and created a hole. I called Top Tier Roofing, and they immediately sent Porfirio to take a look, even though it's just a small job. Porfirio said he'll come by this week, and he just took care of it yesterday, without me having to call for follow-ups. Now, that's what I call service! I highly recommend this company. read more

Ok, my new roof is slated to last 30 years so it will be a while before I can attest to that. Here's why I recommend them. When they came out to look at my house, they asked more and better questions about the place than the other companies I contacted -- even going up in the attic to look around. The crew was punctual, really friendly, and really hard working. They got the job done in a day and a half instead of the projected three. They left my yard cleaner than before they came. Dave and Porfirio answered all my questions patiently, and they made certain that I was satisfied with the whole project.. Definitely a good experience. read more

Our antenna fell down and put a few holes in our roof. I called multiple roofers to gather estimates to fix the holes. Top Tier was first to respond with a human being answering the phone. Next, their project manager, Porfirio, promptly called me to set up the inspection appointment. Porfirio showed up on time with an informational folder showing all the awards, licenses, and insurance Top Tier posses. After inspection Porfirio assured us the roof just needed a minor fix. He took pictures before and after to show us and even fixed a loose gutter while he was up there. This company is honest, efficient, professional, and skilled. I will be calling them when I need a new roof or our gutters cleaned out. read more

I tried to get my roof replaced as it's approaching to end of life. I tried to get quotes from a few local roofers and in the end chose Top Tier - they were both responsive and professional, but Gil from Top Tier was the only one climbed on the roof to take closer look at the current condition of the roof and provided me a detailed explanation regarding shingle choices, ventilation choices etc. Their official quote is very easy to read and informative. I really like the way how you can clearly see how much each item/service cost. The price is definitely fair considering the service they provided. The entire roofing process is also smooth. Their workers are easy to communicate and with good manners during the entire projects. I'm still waiting for the winter to test out the quality of workmanship, but so far it's definitely a great experience. read more

I called Top Tier Roofing to help me verify whether a window leak I had in my home was being caused by a roof issue. He also showed me a cost-effective way to solve my problem, which was a big relief for me. I'm grateful to Joseph for his integrity and expertise. I highly recommend Top Tier Roofing! Gil is absolutely the best! He is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. Gil was very patient and took the time to answer every question my mom and I had. He was very accommodating and took the extra time to drop off samples and answered his phone after work hours. Gil even waited over 2 hours for the city inspector to ensure there were no issues. I appreciate that Top Tier was willing to come out to the Santa Cruz area. I was turned down by several other companies due to the location of our property. Top Tier is very competitive in their pricing and their quality of work is outstanding. I received the estimate very quickly and the entire project was completed less than a week for 3 areas: main house, detached garage, and detached unit. The crew was always on time and very thorough from removing the old roofing, installing the shingles/underlayment/chimney flashings/vents/gutters, replacing wood rot boards, and the final debris cleanup. I am grateful Gil was able to provide his honest opinion and recommendation of which shingles/gutters to go with for our property. We also have neighbors and other family members looking to contact Top Tier Roofing for repairs/replacement. Big thank you for everything! read more

I contacted Top Tier Roofing about some apparent water damage on our kitchen ceiling. I got an immediate response from David Weber, the owner of the company. I wasn't sure that he would be willing to look at our issue since it was likely a small job. Calls to a couple of other companies went unanswered. He and Gilbert came out a couple of days later, looked at the problem knowing exactly what was needed and agreed to do the work for us at a nominal cost. David came with copies of his business license, proof of liability insurance and prior reviews. I have never worked with a contractor that provided this information without being asked. His demeanor was extremely professional, knowledgeable and positive. Every person I spoke with at the company was equally as professional and responsive. Porfirio came out to do the work, which was done very quickly and gave us the peace of mind that we may not encounter bigger problems down the road. It is rare to have the pleasure of working with such responsive and professional people who obviously know what they are doing. I immediately felt comfortable with them doing the work. We hopefully have a few more years left on the roof but when the time comes, I wouldn't hesitate at all to call them to do the job. Many thanks to David, Gilbert and Porfirio! All in all, a fantastic experience! read more

A relatively smaller project, but we have a 1980's terracotta tile roof (brittle!) and if you don't know how to walk on it, every step will break tiles. My initial call to TTR and meeting Profirio for an initial (free) inspection assured me that they were experienced with these types. They absolutely we're. We had some rain water leakage in areas around a chimney and possibly sky lights. After a through inspection, they determined the roof was fine, but dirt, leaves and debris had built up causing rain to find ways inside that shouldn't happen. No new roof/tiles needed and only slight repair (calking) needed. But, the top of the very large river rock chimney had an old metal cap with plaster/grout that had cracked and seriously open to the elements. This needed a new sheet metal hood cover to protect from rain water. TTR/Profirio had a referral to to a company that he has had a long term working relationship, with who he quickly engaged and oversaw so that the reasonable quote/fabrication/installation went smoothly. This took time, communications and coordination. Not being roof/chimney specialists, we need to have calls/texts/visits to be certain of the work to be done and schedule. Overall, it went well by us asking questions read more
