Their coffee is some of the best I've had in Minneapolis! Breakfast is a little pricey here but the ricotta toast was delicious. Also had their breakfast sandwiches which are good but overpriced for their small size.

Wow! Restaurant Alma(not the cafe) Can't believe it's taken me years to visit here, I had an amazing 3 course dinner here with the wine pairings All the dishes were fantastic and my friend and I shared all of our dishes so we could experience most of the menu The service here was truly excellent from coat check to our server Miles who was super friendly and knowledgeable Everyone we encountered was so passionate about the food it made me feel good especially as the quality was so high! There wasn't anything I didn't like except dessert was not included in our meal so for extra $ we did split one and was delicious They did send me home with some mini coconut macaroons which was a nice touch Ambiance - was lovely sitting at the counter, restaurant was full but not crazy loud for a Saturday night! The menu changes seasonally so I'll be back in the fall to try that Parking- free street parking If your looking for a high quality tasting menu book here

Alma is such a cute restaurant for a brunch on a weekend breakfast on a weekday a nice coffee or a very fancy dinner at night. Their brunch and breakfast menu is full of sandwiches, bakery items and weekend specials. They also have a variety of coffees available as well. Their evening restaurant has a set menu which rotates Alma also features a hotel above the restaurant making it a common destination for wedding groups. We enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches, which were absolutely delicious. Packing lots of flavor and such a small sandwich. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely adorable and there is a lot of seating inside, some seating outside on nice days. Would highly recommend this spot, especially due to its location right near the Stonearch Bridge and Northeast Minneapolis. The service is very friendly and quick, but you do have to bust your own table and clean up after yourself. Highly recommend!

Alma is such a great coffee and brunch spot!! They make their own syrups which is one of the main things I look for when I'm going to get a coffee (no monin syrups in here!) They also have really good matcha. I tried their biscuits and gravy brunch special and it was really savory, flavorful and a good ratio of biscuits, meat and gravy. For only $12 I thought it was a great deal! There's plenty of seating inside and I love the decor. Everyone working there has always been friendly and kind. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area!

Alma is one of the best places to have dinner in Minneapolis. A smaller restaurant set in a retro / historic building, serving a 3 course meal of amazing food? Sign me up! Service is included in the price but still maintains high standards and personality. Good wine selection. I wish more of my meals were here.

Every year we venture to Minnesota to visit family. Alma is our definitive destination. Never, in all my decades ( 6+) have I encountered a place that works so hard to ensure your comfort, pleasure and sense of belonging. If only I could rate Alma 10 stars, I would. Truly. The food is Delicious, beautifully presented, so thoughtfully curated. You are never rushed, it is all about the complete experience - ambience, service, cuisine, friendship, meaning.... As always and forever, thank you Alma, for an exquisitely perfect evening, as always.

Corner Store

This is a review specifically for the breakfast cafe. I was expecting to be critical after a super long wait from an online order past the estimated 20 mins but oh my God, the food overrode that completely. This is one of the best breakfast spots in the Twin Cities and rivals my love of Sun Street Breads. Corner Store - breakfast sandwich - 10/10 The bacon is thick cut and crispy, melty American cheese, toasted roll that tasted like brioche. Croissant - 10/10 This has got to be top 2 or 3 croissants I've ever had in Minneapolis. Crispy, flaky, buttery perfection. My wife and I make a habit of trying every little bakery and this is elite. Like early Bellecour days. Chocolate chip cookie - 9/10 Really good, chewy, good ratio of chocolate. Crazy busy because it's a weekend, I got it to go so I can't comment much on the ambience but it's a cute spot. They could probably triple their seating and still fill up. Price - 10/10 For the quality, I'm very impressed. UPDATE: returned the following day and we got the Up South sandwich as well. 10/10. Incredible biscuit, I don't usually like pimento cheese but it rivaled the Corner Store sandwich.

We have been to Alma 3x now and it never disappoints Great food that rotates seasonally. The staff know the menu well and are so attentive. We go here for special occasion dinners and it's perfect because of the chill vibe. You get a ton of delicious food and the menu is very unique. It's a special occasion dining spot without being pretentious. Parking can be hard, there are limited spots by the building otherwise it is street parking.

I went here for a cappuccino the other day and it was great! The coffee was high quality and the service was friendly. The reason I am giving this 4 stars is because the price was high, especially for 8 oz of liquid. There are no size options for that particular drink. The cafe is cute and I look forward to coming back for a meal.

Delicious! We got torta sorta and the sunshine helps sandwiches. Also, the goldy's spiced latte (seasonal special) was super tasty!! Kind staff and cute space. Recommend going for a walk on the river afterward!

This place is da bomb! Near the U of M, and attached to a hotel, this cafe is a delight. The vibe was perfect and as I watched the staff work while I waited for my order, they were the definition of efficiency. And the food! 5/5 on all items: steel cut oatmeal with brown sugar, apples, and pumpkin seeds / Ham Jam sandwich with onion jam and a touch of maple syrup, and rosemary smashed potatoes / pumpkin spice latte. I'm from across the river, but this cafe is worth the trip downtown! Note: I had to procure street parking, and was able to do so 1 block away.

Brown Butter Caramel Tarte

This is probably closer to a 3.5-star review as it wasn't quite a true 4, but was a bit better than a 3-star. Alma was a place that I had wanted to try for a very long time, and while some things hit the mark, the full experience left a bit to be desired. First off, service began a bit slow. Was probably a good 6-8 minutes once seated before anyone came with water or to even greet us. That wouldn't be a huge deal at a lesser establishment, but a high level of service should be a staple here. Luckily, it did pick up and improve from that point. The atmosphere was as advertised. Very chic, dim, and romantic. A bit cozy between tables, but all in all a solid environment to dine in. For food, there was a mix of outcomes. First up was a few little snack-type items including some cheese, breads, nuts, and olives. Nice little mix of small items. Next up was the Poached Pear & Endive Salad - a very unique, crispy, and enjoyable dish. The Duck Liver Pate was a bit overpowering, but a nice contrast in flavor to the other first plate. Following this were the pasta dishes, which were quite solid. The Meyer Lemon Orzo Pasta was fresh, the Alma Rigatoni was rich. The rigatoni was definitely one of the standouts of the evening and a borderline 5-star dish. For the main entree, the leg of lamb was good, but the accompaniments were a tad underwhelming. The meat was cooked well, was tender and flavorful. Overall, the dish was just maybe a hair above average. The second standout behind the rigatoni was the dessert, a Brown Butter Caramel Tarte. It was one of the best desserts I've had in quite some time! The sum of the parts left things in pretty good standout, but only 2 of the dishes really stood out for the level of venue that Alma falls within. The rest being closer to average or thereabouts left this experience a bit below expectation, but certainly not a terrible one by any stretch.

Went to Alma Cafe on a Saturday afternoon and found a cozy spot to enjoy a delicious latte and lunch. The place is so pretty and has such good ambiance. I ordered a rosemary maple latte (wow -- super yummy!) The Ham & Gruyère melt with crispy potatoes is by far some of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The potatoes were perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, with the right amount of saltiness. I've thought about how delicious tastes since I last had it. The service was great and super helpful when picking what to order. I'm thoroughly looking forward to going back!

Every single dish was exceptional. Even better, both ends of the family food spectrum were thrilled: my meat-and-potatoes son devoured his steak, while this vegetarian mom feasted on mushrooms, carrots and broccolini. Too often veggie dishes feel like an afterthought, the lonely sidekick to the main event. Not at All Saints. The vegetables were every bit the star. And then there was the Kansui Fettuccini Pomodoro. But, we were able to order and drink one drink during the ~45 minutes we had. They closed up shop promptly at 10pm. They had a classics and a "rumors" section of the menu. I didn't think the signature drinks were overly unique, with classics like Paper Plane making that menu side. I had a pomegranate mojito which was good! Consensus was that the cocktails were good not exceptional, especially for the $16-17 price point. We ordered churros for the table which were a table favorite! Unfortunately, while the restaurant has a wonderful, warm, and cozy atmosphere, the service and execution of several dishes left us disappointed. I started with an Old Fashioned made with brown butter-infused bourbon, which sounded intriguing. Unfortunately, the cocktail was served over regular crushed ice rather than a single large ice cube, causing it to become watered down rather quickly. Not the best start. We were interested in ordering the pork chop, and our waiter explained that it would take approximately 15-20 minutes to prepare. He suggested putting that order in immediately while we decided on appetizers. That sounded reasonable, except our waiter then disappeared for another 5-10 minutes. After unsuccessfully trying to get his attention, we had to ask another employee to find him. When he returned, I specifically asked whether we still had time to order appetizers without having the pork chop arrive at the same time. He assured us that the timing would be coordinated appropriately. Unfortunately, the pork chop arrived before any of our appetizers. When I expressed my concern to the woman delivering the dish, she offered to take it back and have it prepared again. I appreciated her willingness to correct the situation, but the entire sequence reflected poor coordination between the kitchen and service staff. As for the food, the pork chop was excellent and easily the highlight of the evening. The appetizers, however, were less impressive. The dumplings had a flavorful filling, but the dough at the top was noticeably undercooked and unpleasantly doughy. The octopus was tender, but it was deep-fried, which wasn't what we expected. We generally prefer lighter, healthier preparations and would have appreciated knowing beforehand that the octopus was fried. On the positive side, the restaurant's interior is inviting, comfortable, and beautifully suited for an intimate dinner. And again, the pork chop was outstanding. Unfortunately, a great atmosphere and one excellent entrée weren't enough to overcome the service missteps, poor timing, and inconsistent execution of the other dishes. At this price point and given the restaurant's reputation, we expected a more polished dining experience. While I can understand an occasional kitchen or service mistake, the combination of issues made for a disappointing evening. We will likely not return.

I liken it to movie/show spoilers... I don't want to reveal too much, and dilute the awe of your first experience. So with that, Demi has been on my radar for years, and as I prepared for an outing worthy of celebrating my milestones, I knew the time had come. I went for the autum 2026 wc whitney menu, which states 9 courses, but it was 11 given the mushroom broth in the beginning, and chocolates at the end. Anyway, the food was amazing, the service exceptional, and although I went solo, I met a couple of lovely folks seated next to me that only added to the experience. So with that, here are a few highlights: -Avoid arriving extremely early. Within 5mins of your reservation is more than enough. I arrived 9mins early, but used the time for photos and a tasty cocktail, "Trouble in Paradise" $20, before seating began. -The experience is very personal. From beginning to end. When completing your reservation, be sure to include details/the reason for your visit. They actually read it! -If you're contemplating going alone, do it! I was the only one by themselves, and still felt engaged! Sitting with views of the kitchen, you see all the action and it's quite the production. There's a rhythm as the service flows, everyone has a role, yet it's all hands on deck with so much attention to the details. It's like catching a glimpse of the backstage crew working behind the curtains at a show, which I love. -I skipped the beverage pairings and just ordered two drinks by the glass. One being a red wine that I asked be paired with my pasta course and went well with the following two (duck, then wagyu). I didn't check prices beforehand, but both turned out to be pricey($50 total). So with that, either inquire in the moment, or just limit yourself so the surprise isn't exorbitant and beyond what the pairing would have been. And if you're not worried about price, then YOLO. -The one area of improvement I noticed was with a substitute given to those with food restrictions. I saw reviews from folks who only received brie cheese for a course, and then I witnessed it while there. Since restrictions are provided beforehand, it seems more in-line with the dining experience to create an option that's elevated. Not just a slice or 2 of cheese (while others are eating something substantial). That aside, it was lovely and I'd recommend it.

I love the pink and green, and the place settings are gorgeous. Bonus: the team is super fast with clearing and bringing replacements so you always have a clean plate. Add in huge windows that brings in tons of light, and you have one of the most photogenic eateries in town. Dario's beverage menu is wonderful, and I especially want to draw attention to their extensive selection of non-alcoholic options. In addition to house-made sodas and creative cocktails, they have a wonderful list of dealcoholized wines--awesome news for anyone who is looking for a zero proof drink. As for the food, Dario knocks it out of the park with a menu that offers options for all tastes. The menu is designed to share, and the variety ensures that there will be something for everyone. The first two dishes that ai sampled were the Gem Lettuces, which our server described as "a Caesar salad on steroids" and the Morel Mushrooms. The Gem Lettuces were delicious--the zippy vinaigrette was better than any Caesar I have had before, the cheese was a fluffy, savory, and salty delight, and the puffed farro was a pleasing alternative to the usual croutons. Bonus: it's fish-free! I'd say that it's less a Caesar salad on steroids and more what happens when the Caesar salad next door goes off to college and has a glow-up. The morels were served on polenta and complemented with Madeira and tarragon. They came with a confit egg yolk. The presentation was strikingly beautiful, and the flavors pure and harmonious. The morels were cooked perfectly and went beautifully with the wine and tarragon--it was a great dish for spring, and everyone enjoyed the layers of texture and flavor. For our pasta choices, we had the English Pea Triangoli that Lu recommended (thanks Lu!) and the doppio. It's easy to see why Dario is known for its pasta--these dishes were amazing. The English Pea Triangoli was otherworldly: sweet peas, snap peas, onions, mint, and pea sprouts come together with butter to make a nostalgic little bite of heaven. It tastes like spring. Sicilian pistachios add crunch and another layer of sweet and salt, and the lightly steamed vegetables and fresh pea shoots and mint also added layers of texture and freshness. Positively superlative. The Doppio was also gorgeous: one side is filled with ricotta and the other sunchoke. Honey adds sweetness and the hazelnuts toastiness reminiscent of browned butter. The rosemary complemented it all. For my dessert, I had the Earl Gray tea cake. It had a very pleasing crumb and subtle sweetness, and the lemon whipped cream was the perfect accompaniment. The sprinkle of toffee cookie added a lovely caramelized crunch, and the bright acidity of the rhubarb was preserved, making for a juicy and refreshing burst of flavor in every bite. Splendid! Thanks to Dario for a wonderful evening!
