Their coffee is some of the best I've had in Minneapolis! Breakfast is a little pricey here but the ricotta toast was delicious. Also had their breakfast sandwiches which are good but overpriced for their small size.

Wow! Restaurant Alma(not the cafe) Can't believe it's taken me years to visit here, I had an amazing 3 course dinner here with the wine pairings All the dishes were fantastic and my friend and I shared all of our dishes so we could experience most of the menu The service here was truly excellent from coat check to our server Miles who was super friendly and knowledgeable Everyone we encountered was so passionate about the food it made me feel good especially as the quality was so high! There wasn't anything I didn't like except dessert was not included in our meal so for extra $ we did split one and was delicious They did send me home with some mini coconut macaroons which was a nice touch Ambiance - was lovely sitting at the counter, restaurant was full but not crazy loud for a Saturday night! The menu changes seasonally so I'll be back in the fall to try that Parking- free street parking If your looking for a high quality tasting menu book here

Alma is such a cute restaurant for a brunch on a weekend breakfast on a weekday a nice coffee or a very fancy dinner at night. Their brunch and breakfast menu is full of sandwiches, bakery items and weekend specials. They also have a variety of coffees available as well. Their evening restaurant has a set menu which rotates Alma also features a hotel above the restaurant making it a common destination for wedding groups. We enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches, which were absolutely delicious. Packing lots of flavor and such a small sandwich. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely adorable and there is a lot of seating inside, some seating outside on nice days. Would highly recommend this spot, especially due to its location right near the Stonearch Bridge and Northeast Minneapolis. The service is very friendly and quick, but you do have to bust your own table and clean up after yourself. Highly recommend!

Alma is such a great coffee and brunch spot!! They make their own syrups which is one of the main things I look for when I'm going to get a coffee (no monin syrups in here!) They also have really good matcha. I tried their biscuits and gravy brunch special and it was really savory, flavorful and a good ratio of biscuits, meat and gravy. For only $12 I thought it was a great deal! There's plenty of seating inside and I love the decor. Everyone working there has always been friendly and kind. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area!

Alma is one of the best places to have dinner in Minneapolis. A smaller restaurant set in a retro / historic building, serving a 3 course meal of amazing food? Sign me up! Service is included in the price but still maintains high standards and personality. Good wine selection. I wish more of my meals were here.

Every year we venture to Minnesota to visit family. Alma is our definitive destination. Never, in all my decades ( 6+) have I encountered a place that works so hard to ensure your comfort, pleasure and sense of belonging. If only I could rate Alma 10 stars, I would. Truly. The food is Delicious, beautifully presented, so thoughtfully curated. You are never rushed, it is all about the complete experience - ambience, service, cuisine, friendship, meaning.... As always and forever, thank you Alma, for an exquisitely perfect evening, as always.

Corner Store

This is a review specifically for the breakfast cafe. I was expecting to be critical after a super long wait from an online order past the estimated 20 mins but oh my God, the food overrode that completely. This is one of the best breakfast spots in the Twin Cities and rivals my love of Sun Street Breads. Corner Store - breakfast sandwich - 10/10 The bacon is thick cut and crispy, melty American cheese, toasted roll that tasted like brioche. Croissant - 10/10 This has got to be top 2 or 3 croissants I've ever had in Minneapolis. Crispy, flaky, buttery perfection. My wife and I make a habit of trying every little bakery and this is elite. Like early Bellecour days. Chocolate chip cookie - 9/10 Really good, chewy, good ratio of chocolate. Crazy busy because it's a weekend, I got it to go so I can't comment much on the ambience but it's a cute spot. They could probably triple their seating and still fill up. Price - 10/10 For the quality, I'm very impressed. UPDATE: returned the following day and we got the Up South sandwich as well. 10/10. Incredible biscuit, I don't usually like pimento cheese but it rivaled the Corner Store sandwich.

We have been to Alma 3x now and it never disappoints Great food that rotates seasonally. The staff know the menu well and are so attentive. We go here for special occasion dinners and it's perfect because of the chill vibe. You get a ton of delicious food and the menu is very unique. It's a special occasion dining spot without being pretentious. Parking can be hard, there are limited spots by the building otherwise it is street parking.

I went here for a cappuccino the other day and it was great! The coffee was high quality and the service was friendly. The reason I am giving this 4 stars is because the price was high, especially for 8 oz of liquid. There are no size options for that particular drink. The cafe is cute and I look forward to coming back for a meal.

Delicious! We got torta sorta and the sunshine helps sandwiches. Also, the goldy's spiced latte (seasonal special) was super tasty!! Kind staff and cute space. Recommend going for a walk on the river afterward!

This place is da bomb! Near the U of M, and attached to a hotel, this cafe is a delight. The vibe was perfect and as I watched the staff work while I waited for my order, they were the definition of efficiency. And the food! 5/5 on all items: steel cut oatmeal with brown sugar, apples, and pumpkin seeds / Ham Jam sandwich with onion jam and a touch of maple syrup, and rosemary smashed potatoes / pumpkin spice latte. I'm from across the river, but this cafe is worth the trip downtown! Note: I had to procure street parking, and was able to do so 1 block away.

Brown Butter Caramel Tarte

This is probably closer to a 3.5-star review as it wasn't quite a true 4, but was a bit better than a 3-star. Alma was a place that I had wanted to try for a very long time, and while some things hit the mark, the full experience left a bit to be desired. First off, service began a bit slow. Was probably a good 6-8 minutes once seated before anyone came with water or to even greet us. That wouldn't be a huge deal at a lesser establishment, but a high level of service should be a staple here. Luckily, it did pick up and improve from that point. The atmosphere was as advertised. Very chic, dim, and romantic. A bit cozy between tables, but all in all a solid environment to dine in. For food, there was a mix of outcomes. First up was a few little snack-type items including some cheese, breads, nuts, and olives. Nice little mix of small items. Next up was the Poached Pear & Endive Salad - a very unique, crispy, and enjoyable dish. The Duck Liver Pate was a bit overpowering, but a nice contrast in flavor to the other first plate. Following this were the pasta dishes, which were quite solid. The Meyer Lemon Orzo Pasta was fresh, the Alma Rigatoni was rich. The rigatoni was definitely one of the standouts of the evening and a borderline 5-star dish. For the main entree, the leg of lamb was good, but the accompaniments were a tad underwhelming. The meat was cooked well, was tender and flavorful. Overall, the dish was just maybe a hair above average. The second standout behind the rigatoni was the dessert, a Brown Butter Caramel Tarte. It was one of the best desserts I've had in quite some time! The sum of the parts left things in pretty good standout, but only 2 of the dishes really stood out for the level of venue that Alma falls within. The rest being closer to average or thereabouts left this experience a bit below expectation, but certainly not a terrible one by any stretch.

Went to Alma Cafe on a Saturday afternoon and found a cozy spot to enjoy a delicious latte and lunch. The place is so pretty and has such good ambiance. I ordered a rosemary maple latte (wow -- super yummy!) The Ham & Gruyère melt with crispy potatoes is by far some of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The potatoes were perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, with the right amount of saltiness. I've thought about how delicious tastes since I last had it. The service was great and super helpful when picking what to order. I'm thoroughly looking forward to going back!

Bustling place with an interesting menu. It's a bit bougie, but not ridiculously so. It's counter service, but it doesn't fell like that.

The wedding was held at 300 Clifton, in Loring Hills on estate row. It's a landmark estate previously owned by a lumber baron at the turn of the century. 300 Clifton (named after the street it's on) was recently purchased, restored and is being used as a historic six-bedroom B&B and event venue. My neice Ali's wedding, reception and dinner was held outside, on the beautiful estate grounds. The bride and groom stood on the front porch and greeted the 150 guests... a wonderful idea I wish more couples would follow. The ceremony was held on the lawn under the the rose bush trellis. The bar was set up on the enormous back porch. A 5-course dinner was served under a huge tent, complete with fans (it was over 80 degrees). The only time I went inside was for wedding cake, so I only got a quick peek at the public rooms. Would love to come back for a tour. I can't think of a more lovely place to hold a wedding than here. My only suggestion is that they add more restrooms.

They were full that night and couldn't put me in another room and offered to find a local hotel (which later they reneged on); the worker said they did call for inspection and said repeatedly they would reimburse my stay for the inconvenience. It was annoying not to have any communication with the owner and only when I got home on Sunday did they email to say there was nothing (who knows if that is true) and no mention of a refund. Very disappointed.

The building is beautiful, historic, and feels a little hidden away. I loved the chandeliers, the dim lighting, and the bar area looked especially nice. We got to choose our table, and our server was very friendly and gave us great service throughout the meal. We started with the deviled eggs and chicken wild rice soup. The deviled eggs were a hit, and the soup was good, although I did add a little salt and pepper. I had the prime New York strip, which had a really nice crust and was cooked the way I asked. The portion was plenty for me. My husband had the Chicken Bryan and really liked it. I tried a little and thought it had a garlicky, tomato flavor that worked well. For dessert, we shared the signature chocolate cake. It was very rich and chocolatey, and it ended up being a nice way to finish the meal. They didn't have mocktails, so I just had a Coke, which was fine. Overall, though, I really enjoyed the experience.
