We finally tried this AL TOQUE Peruvian Kitchen , a Peruvian Cuisine. They used to only operate in a Food Truck and now they have their restaurants. We came early and there were only a few of us inside sitting in the main dining area. There are plenty of customers on their Bar and a lot of in-and-out people ordering to go. We only ordered the Soltado and Fried seafood (Jalea Mixta) to try, but it took so long for our food to come out. They seemed to be focusing on the orders to go. But after trying their food, all that waiting is Worth it, the food was delicious, I really like how the Fried Seafood was cooked, Crispy and flavorful, also their Lomo Saltado was very Tender. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean inside, spacious, and with friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking was easy, plenty around.

First time trying this place. I picked the I forgot, Yet I know it was the very top one, something something with the rib eye steak, even though I am vegan at times I am flexitarian, wjere at tomes I would eat some meat, after I broke it when I ate a goat dish; I think my brother is friends with the guy worker, and most likely he chose this place for us to eat here.

Some of the fries were spoiled, as you can see in the photo.

Parking was easy and the staff was very friendly. The ceviche was absolutely perfect. The potato dish was also perfect, but a few of the fries were spoiled, as you can see in the photo. The beef plate had good seasoning with the onions and rice, but the meat itself had a slightly odd taste. The chicken and rice plate was unfortunately dry. Overall it was a decent experience. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but if I'm already in the area and hungry I'd stop by again....

As daughter of a Peruvian I can tell you this place is very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got there at 12pm on a Saturday and there were only two tables occupied.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated, but it did take a while to get service since there was only one person for all the tables taking order, bringing food, etc. That for me is a downside since being a Saturday in December the restaurant should have more personnel. We ordered Maracuya Sour and Chicha Morada for drinks, which was really good. For food we ordered Fish Ceviche, Yuca Frita and Chaufa de Mariscos (Peruvian Fried Rice). Taste was truly Peruvian style. So the quality of the food made for the service, that is why I didn't put it 5 stars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is big with lots of tables and a big parking area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time trying this spot out. In a strip mall with some parking, but there are lots of businesses there, so it is a little crowded. Inside the restaurant, plenty of seating, giant mural, nice ambiance, TV with sports playing, friendly staff. Service was good, the food was ready when promised, and they double bagged my order which was great because 1 bag would have broken with all of that food. We tried several different items. Calamari Crispy fried calamari, seasoned and lightly battered, served with our huancaina dipping sauce. Crispy fried calamari, seasoned and lightly battered, served with our huancaina dipping sauce. Yum. Tasty. That dipping sauce has a little kick, but it is a good taste. Saltados - Chicken & Ribeye A delicious duo of juicy chicken and tender ribeye, wok-tossed with onions, tomatoes, fries, and Peruvian spices, served with a side of rice. A delicious duo of juicy chicken and tender ribeye, wok-tossed with onions, tomatoes, fries, and Peruvian spices, served with a side of rice. Delicious. I was going to try to not eat it all, but it was good good and I devoured it. My least favorite part was the tomato chunks. Tallarín Verdes-Pollo Enjoy the bold flavors of our signature Peruvian green pasta! Spaghetti coated in a rich spinach and basil sauce, topped with a tender, flattened chicken breast (pollo) grilled to perfection. Good. I tried a bite. Not as good as my Saltados. Lomo A flavorful Peruvian fried rice dish with tender ribeye strips, scrambled eggs, green onions, and soy sauce, wok-tossed for a smoky finish. We found this place while looking for Peruvian food in the area. Prepared to be wowed by the full wall mural as you walk in to the right. It's just so vibrant and full of energy. It gives the place such an upbeat feeling. I ordered the Tallarin Saltados Especial, with shrimp, chicken and beef. Such a dance of flavors! Loved the sauce so much, I could drink it. Service was friendly and speedy. I look forward to trying out more dishes here.

Here's a second review from me. I had the Tallarines a la Huancaina-Pollo for the first time and it was amazing the Parmesan creamy pasta was packed with a home style comfort food experience. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection with balanced spices to compliment the pasta Honestly I wasn't very hungry when I arrived but I wanted to finish my meal due to how good it tasted. I ended up ordering one to go for my lunch tomorrow since I live 70 miles away. 5/5 stars The Chicha is also a must to order. It reminds of Christmas fall holiday flavors. I got one of those to go as well. 5/5 starts The owners were gracious enough to put a specific football game on so we can see it while we eat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was full of upbeat people celebrating a few birthdays![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Tried Al Toque while in Oceanside and it was a great find! We started with the calamari appetizer -- simple, crispy, and good. The Talla'nin Verdes-pollo was the star of the night, so flavorful and cooked perfectly. I also tried the Leche de Tigre which had awesome, bright flavors, but it's a little tough to share family style, so probably wouldn't order that one again. The Mariscos Chaufas was super tasty and full of flavor. For dessert, we couldn't resist the Alfajores -- you get a dozen in a little to-go box. They were soft, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth delicious and such a fun way to end the meal. Service was prompt and friendly. All in all, solid 4 stars -- tasty food, casual vibe, and we'd definitely come back next time we're in the area!

Omg! Delicious food! First time having Peruvian food - so good! I will be back! Everything was so fresh!

    Paella

Absolutely delicious. The paella was packed with fresh, perfectly cooked seafood, tender shrimp, and flavorful rice that soaked up every bit of seasoning. Rich, fresh, and easily one of the best paellas I've had. Highly recommend!

Came in on Saturday evening and it wasn't too busy. Few different families so not loud at all. Food was absolutely amazing. My steak was made differently this time and I personally loved it so much more. Service has been consistent and the men always make us feel welcomed. I know I need to try something new on the menu but this has been so good. Steak with a creamy pasta, like what else could you ask for. My son had the pesto pasta and really enjoyed that. Even took home his leftovers and finished them later on that night. I mention that only because he hates left overs and that means he really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back to try something new.

I come here often and we get treated amazingly, this guys are great! Usually we order their amazing ceviche and arroz con mariscos. Their Lomo Saltado and Leche de Tigre are equally great. But today we ordered chicken rotisserie with fries and it took me back to Peru! The best chicken I've had in a long time, no more having to drive to Los Angeles for it. You need to come try it!!!

Highly recommend!! Came for the second time, brought two more costumers. The passion fruit drink is a must have.

I make the best at home but it's quite labor intensive so to see they had it on the special! Yay! I can have it and don't have to cook!!! Most places all in the US doesn't get this dish right but yay, I enjoyed it! The large was plenty for my hubby and I to have a cup for lunch then the rest for breakfast the next day. I added their green sauce to give it a kick. So don't worry about it being spicy. It won't be. But if you want spicy they have rocoto (the red) or verde (green) sauce. Add that to your dish to give it that little kick. I don't like extra sweet so I ice down their chicha. Most ppl don't so enjoy it how you like it. The gift is you can alter the items to your liking. All you need is right there. Salt. Ice. Sauces. The causa is so delightful. And the ceviche is creamy jugó yumminess. So fresh. And refreshing. These two are offered together too! Which is who we enjoy them. Perfect dish on any occasion. The sweet potato makes it perfect. I'm a huge fan of "pudim" that's how you say flan in Portuguese! Yet the flan is not my favorite here since the sugar caramelization it's usually cooked too much, causing a burnt flavor, and the consistency is too aerated rather than having a creamy and smooth consistency. I was quickly seated and able to choose any table I wanted, so I picked a little spot in the corner where I could enjoy some much-needed "me time" during my vacation while my daughter played at the beach. I asked what she thought would suit the mood for my solo lunch date, and she immediately raved about the empanada and sangria, so of course I went with her recommendations. The empanada was absolutely phenomenal, and I'm so glad I listened to her! I also enjoyed the two sauces it came with and the salad. It adds a nice touch to the hefty little beef empanada (also packed with flavor!) I also have to mention the ambiance. The seating is so cute, there's plenty of shade, and you're right by the beach. We ventured to Flama Llama, delighted by the wonderful atmosphere and friendly service. What I was not mentally prepared for was the most enlightening culinary venture that I would ever undergo. Flama Llama provided for my companion and I both a satisfying afternoon meal, and perhaps the most poignant dining experience I have enjoyed thus far in my life. The meat was tender and juicy. The vegetables more flavorful than I ever thought possible. The noodles seasoned to perfection. The chicha morada subtly sweet and divinely slaking. And the sauce -- the sauce was orgasmic. I used to not believe those who claimed that good food tells a story. Before this meal I was blind, but now I see the truth. Tension, melancholy, tenacity, and elation. So rich in intensity and meaning. To descibe in human tongue this meal that transcends language would be a disservice to its biblical splendor. I can only in good faith describe the effect that it had on me. I have never cleaned my plate like I did in this restaurant. I have never performed with such steadfast resolve. I have never been turned into a beast of a man and immediately satiated by such postprandial bliss. I was a mad, esurient dog, and Flama Llama's cuisine a gentle hand guiding me to fulfillment. How the sweet meal sang to me, beckoning me into this nirvana like Saint Peter at the pearly gates. This world is a savage one, but the food at Flama Llama has reminded me that no matter how crestfallen, no matter how mired in anguish we as humans have become, beauty endures. I am, in all likelihood, Flama Llama's #1 fan. Still, I wish I knew enough about cooking or creation of any kind so that I could appreciate it more. I wish I had it in me to become so skilled at preparing food that I could develop something even remotely close to this. And while I have my eye on other endeavors, I will never stop being inspired by Flama Llama. Such artistry I will be hard pressed to find elsewhere. I can only hope that one day I will be responsible for something that touches someone as deeply as this food has touched me. An incredible experience if ever one there was. I may no longer seek love from a human companion because I have found everything I need at this establishment. I do not say this lightly: Flama Llama has changed the course of my life forever. afterwards we went to costco and got a hotdog and it was pretty good too

Well, Peruvian Fuego did not reach that. Our waiter and staff was excellent and attentive, which was pleasing. And the patio was nice, although the music was a bit loud. We ordered empanadas and two chickens. The empanadas were tasty. A bit different in texture than what I'm used to, but the filling was nice....beef, onions, raisins. But the chicken? Even though these were supposedly smoked, I smelled only the faintest of smoke. The birds had ZERO juiciness, although they were reasonably tender. I guess I got used to that huge rotating rotisserie at the place I mentioned in Los Angeles with 100 birds going at any time, so what you got was right out of the fire. Here, the chicken tasted it it may have been very lightly smoked and then reheated a day or two later. That may or may not be the case, but It just wasn't special. It was marginally better than El Pollo Loco. Update: 1 day later after being in the fridge, I could taste the smokiness much more prominently. I shredded the remaining chicken (breasts and wings), simmered it in lime juice and chicken brothn to make it tender, and had it in tacos. Delicious! The rice was good. The salads ok--fresh but not really dressed. I didn't like their aji. I'd like to try some other items. They have a nice full Peruvian menu. But all in all, the food I had didn't grab me enough to make me want to come running back.

Apparently the calamari was dusted with sesame seeds, and I didn't think to disclose this at Peruvian... but this is where the waiter checked on me and was wonderful as I was going through this. I bought a pack of carne empanadas and enjoyed those later at home. I'll definitely be back, just no calamari next time!

The space is small and intimate and I think it would be a nice place for a casual date! We were seated quickly and the server was really great throughout the whole meal and very knowledgeable about the food. I appreciated that he let us know about the specials without us needing to ask. We started off with some drinks. I got a red wine sangria and it was good but I did find it to taste a bit watered down but it wasn't a huge deal! We also got a carne empanada and the flavor was to die for. The beef and onion was so delicious and savory. It was juicy inside but the outside was crispy and dry not soggy at all. The portion size was fairly large as well. We also got the yuca frites. They were good. Crispy but still nice and starchy and filling. Not my favorite dish but only because of personal preference and not because they didn't do it well! Lastly we ended with the pork shank special they had for the night. It was absolutely amazing. The meat just fell off the bone and was so tender. I loved how the mushroom and spinach came with the pork. All of the different parts of the fish came together really well to made it exceptional. It was a hearty and comforting meal and I wish it were on their regular menu! I'm excited to come here again in the future to try more dishes.
