Went here on a Friday evening before watching The Devil Wears Prada 2. Convenient location to dine-in as the movie theatre is nearby. Got to check off eating here as it's been on my list of places to try for years. The fresh flowers are a nice touch. We received complimentary treats from the kitchen which set the standard for what was to come. Could have eaten a million more. Our tuna tartare arrived and upon eating our first bites, the taste was off-putting. The staff was so kind to compensate by removing this item from our bill. The mussels are a good dish shareable for two; we asked for soup spoons to enjoy the broth. My friend typically does not order protein as her main entree (coming from a family who is skilled at grilling meats), though I was able to persuade her to share the pork chop. The staff offered to split this into two separate plates. I enjoyed the fact that were were supporting a local fresh pork farm based out of Mount Jackson, VA known as Baker's Farm. All of the dishes were plated creatively and we left feeling full. +Yellow Fin Tuna Tartare-saffron aioli, house made kimchi, crispy tuile +IPA Steamed Mussels-bacon, cherry tomato, basil, grilled sourdough +Smoked Local Pork Chop +Espresso Martini Although my friend mentioned that this is typically more than she would pay for, she would come back for the mussels. I would agree the price point falls short of the flavors.

TOP TIER RESTAURANT! Excellent food and exceptional service. The team at Ahso are delivering elevated food in a welcoming environment. Can't wait for the next time!

Went there for Easter brunch. The service was good and efficient. Unfortunately the food was very under par for a high end restaurant. The fried chicken was too salty, the Huevos Racheros was lacking in flavor, the pork was too dry. The worst was the chocolate croissant, my son usually gobbles them up took one bite and said he didn't want it anymore. Tasted it and it tasted old and weird. Not sure if we will ever be returning as this is the second time in a row that we the experience didn't meet expectations. Definitely not worth the price paid.

This was one of the few restaurant experiences that I will remember for years. The food and service were top notch and you can tell they go above and beyond for their customers. This was truly an experience and everything we ate was delicious. The kitchen gave us a few complimentary bites (not all pictured) and the atmosphere was positive. We met Aleks from the kitchen and he seemed genuinely happy to be there and serious about the craft. Great attentive staff at this place

Our first time at Ahso and really enjoyed the experience! The restaurant was hot but they turned on a fan which helped. Our server Bruno was really great, friendly and helpful. We ordered a la carte family style to try as many dishes as possible. Apparently the menu can change daily! Most of the dishes were delicious, with the tom kha mussels being the highlight. Whoever is salting the vegetables is too heavy handed - the kimchi in the short rib starter and cauliflower in the snapper dish were way too salty. The snapper was a bit dry as well. Aside from that, everything was delicious. Appreciate the birthday acknowledgement and birthday brioche bread pudding! We definitely want to go back to try the brunch!

Me and my wife came to "Ahso" on Monday, 5/20/25 for a date night. We've been meaning to try this place for years so we booked a reservation for 5:30 PM. Walked in and the host promptly seated us by the windows. The place was empty aside from some ladies having cocktails at the bar and a manager on a laptop at the other end of the bar. Small, cozy, and bright the ambiance seemed perfect for date night. The server Heather was friendly enough and attentive and gave a excellent description of the items we ordered. My wife ordered the 4-course tasting menu and I opted for the "Pork Rillettes" appetizer and "Grilled NY Striploin." The dishes came out with immaculate presentation and picture worthy. Pros: The server was efficient and friendly The restaurant was clean. Easy parking The manager did check on us Fantasic wine selection Deserts were great! Family owned and operated! Cons: Maybe we came on an off day but I did not enjoy the steak. I'll give them another shot or order something else.

I have visited this location two times: a Saturday evening and Saturday morning. The ambiance was quite different during both visits. Saturday evening, it was packed and they have great lighting to set the mood. Saturday morning, it wasn't busy at all, maybe 4 parties were there in the 4 hours we dined. Their menu constantly changes, I believe it is a weekly basis. Service is exceptional at the restaurant. My second visit was with Hailey, who was very attentive and friendly. For the Saturday evening visit, I ordered the the Lamb shoulder Roulade with the Barrel Aged O.G., both were just AMAZING. We ordered a Charcuterie and cheese board to share as well. For the Saturday menu, they offered two options: a Prix Fixe menu and the regular menu. We chose the Prix Fixe option, which included the following for $36/person: a tray of assorted baked goods, yogurt & fruit, home fries and one entree (we chose the Hanger Steak & Eggs). This was just phenomenal food for this price! The chef prepared my steak exactly as requested, well done. The only one thing I didn't care for was the amount of salt on everything, I would order my food to either be unsalted or lightly salted next time. The restaurant is located across from the library, at the corner of the shopping mall. There are some parking spots in the front...for those who know how to parallel park! Otherwise, there is a parking garage around the corner.

Came here for lunch, a party of 4. Service was friendly and the food was solid. I ordered a salad and my husband ordered the burger.

Ask the Community - Ahso Restaurant

If you do the Thursday theme but have a dairy allergy will they work around if?

Hi Amy! Yes, we are prepared to work around any dietary restriction! Just mention to your server when you get situated and we'll take it from there! - Jason

Are kids allowed? I have a 4 and 1 yr old.

Yes but there aren't many kids there typically around that age at dinner time. We did see a few who sat outside but they were a bit older.

I am unable to tell what the informal dress code is. Are the majority of people here wearing business casual type clothes, or slightly more dressed down in jeans?

Hi Nikki! It's pretty broad here-- some people choose to dress nice, especially if they are celebrating something, but the majority are comfortable in jeans. No one ever feels out of place! Hope to see you soon!!…

Patrons are mostly locals and repeat customers, which I love. They do Thursday evening football games and have some soccer affinity too. Usually there's ice hockey playing as well. Ragz loves their chilli burgers and gets one pretty much every time. I usually get their quesadilla. They are very good with customizing orders for me - for example, I ask for less chicken and lots of veggies in my quesadilla and they always get it right. I also like their soups, which rotate. The chicken and rice is a good one, as is the tomato soup. Not a huge fan of the wings I have tried so far, honestly. Service is great. Ashley is my fav! The biggest thing I appreciate is the consistency--the food tastes exactly the way it should every single time. You never have to wonder if you're going to get a good meal because you always do. Dark woods, colored lights stickers, TV playing, music going and the vats for brewing. Walked up and took a seat at the empty bar, arriving minutes after they opened on a Monday. Looked at the tap menu, as well as can for sale. My sister ordered a lemon lime cider and I decided on a Polvo Pils. After that trip to Prague, I will always search out a good pilsner. Ocelot had a wonderful pilsner, served properly. I followed this up with Little Black Book. Can you ever go wrong with a nitro tap beer? The answer is no. So, after two rounds, I was impressed with the beer, definitely better than what I had tasted the previous days. The beertender was attentive, the decor was somewhat eclectic, lots of colored lights strung from the ceiling. Barrels against the wall, as the main beer hall opened up to the production side of the establishment. The pinball room was awesome, wall to wall pinball machines, light flashing, looked like it would really be a happening place at quitting time. All in all it was the best beer experience I had while visiting. Would recommend a stop if you don't want to battle traffic out of IAD at the wrong time of day.
