My husband and I came here because I was craving poke and I've been wanting to try this place out. Bad idea to come during lunch rush hour because we waited a long time in line to be served. There were only 3 workers working during lunch rush hour and some of them seemed a little frazzled (imo). But when it was our turn to order, the servers were really helpful. My husband ordered first, then me. We had 2 different people serving us. The gentleman helping we was very generous on the protein scoop, so I was happy about that. However when it got to my toppings, he gave very little. But I was satisfied with the amount of protein he gave, because some places can be very stingy about how much they give you. I like how they have a set plate such as the Hawaiian bbq chicken and salmon bowl. They also have premade proteins such as the sweet glazed salmon or the tuna luau. They have a variety of choices. The ambiance of this location is nice. There are lots of tables and seats for you to sit and enjoy your meal. My husband and I got ours to go. When we got home, there was too much base for me. I asked for lite rice and my bowl was full of rice. And as mentioned, not enough toppings to my liking. But overall, a good poke place. My go to poke spot here in LB!! Food is amazing. Service is Amazing. The inside is clean and the vibes are immaculate lol. This is me and my eldest getaway spot when we don't want to eat what the rest of the family is eating. I usually get 3 scoops with blazing salmon and 2 scoops of regular salmon mixed with eel sauce and spicy mayo. Sooo good. The workers are very attentive and don't hesitate to answer any questions. I'm sure after a full work shift they've heard a certain question more than they'd like to answer but it never shows. They're respectful and polite and is part of the reason we keep coming back. The quality of the fish is very reliable, large portions and reasonably priced. I get the 3 scoop poke bowl, 1/2 spring mix, 1/2 brown rice. You can get spicy versions of all the fish like Tuna Lava and Blazing Salmon, but my favorite is to get just the raw fish options and have them mix it up for you with one, a few, or all of their delicious sauces like kimchi sauce, ponzu, wasabi citrus or spicy mayo. These are large portions, great value, lots of fish and condiment options, lots of base options (I think this is the only place that I have seen kelp noodles as a base option). Everything tastes authentic and fresh. They do a great job. They even have hot items like spam musubi and miso soup and unique drink options like lychee lemonade. This used to be a great poke place, my number one choice in Long Beach but unfortunately has gone severely downhill :( I walked in and there was a fly in the tuna just sitting there and I said something but the worker just said sorry and waved his hand causing the fly to go into the tofu and he just left it there. Didnt change out any of the food or kill the fly. the sizes of the bowl have gotten WAY smaller and the prices are higher. they skimped on EVERYTHING including the veggies. its sad to see this place come to this. i would recommend going somewhere else for the price. read more

I don't often eat poke, but my once in a blue moon craving was absolutely satiated at Ahipoki. I feel like there's not much of a difference a 1 scoop bowl vs. a 2 scoop bowl - the bowl size remains the same, but they do load you up on all the toppings. Here, a regular ole crab salad doesn't count as a scoop which was such a nice surprise. Instead it counts as one of their toppings, as does the seaweed salad. You can get up to 16 toppings if you so choose. What makes Ahipoki stand out is flavorful the bowl ends up tasting. The fish selection has so many flavors and varieties to choose from. It also helps that every other step involves drizzling more sauce on the bowl as you work your way down the counter. Ahipoki was a nice treat after a long hiatus from eating poke. read more

It never tastes old, super fishy, or gross. I noticed they have lately been serving not just regular fish but crab salad, tuna macaroni salad, etc. Those are great if you're not wanting typical albacore, salmon, spicy tuna, etc. There's tons of toppings! I typically love getting imitation crab, masago, seaweed salad, edamame, wasabi, and ginger with eel sauce. They always taste great! I got the Spam Musubi once just out of curiosity, and they tasted great! I love that you get 2, and I love the sauce they put on the spam. You have to wait for the Spam Musubi to be made so you know it's not old Spam Musubi they made and threw in the fridge or freezer. The employees are always so nice. I've came here many times at many different hours, and the employees are always sweet. There's plenty of seating in the restaurant, and the tables and seats are always clean. I've never once came in here and thought that something needed to be cleaned or was dirty. If you are bowling your own bowl you get the option between brown rice, regular rice, kelp noodles or organic salad. I always go with salad and the large bowl, which is 3 scoops. Although their scoops are a little small they have a large variety of protein options. My favorite is the spicy salmon. They also have lots of options for toppings and sauces. You are bound to buy a bowl of your liking. Besides poke bowls they also have set rice bowls, handrolls, burritos, and musubis. The staff is very nice. This spot can get a little busy so sometimes there is a line. I found the food to be good and tasting fresh, but to me the portion was a tad small for the large. It didn't feel like there was too much rice compared to the amount of eel you get. The ahirrito was absolutely worth it. They loaded up my plate so I had to give them their flowers. Brandon is a beast of a poke maker, he is super nice and takes special care in handling your order like explaining what's on display or why he might separate your rice from fish. But every employee I've interacted with has been very nice and attentive when it came to walking through making my bowl. The fish is unique and comes pre-mixed with flavors which reminds me more of Hawaiian poke (the best kind). It also takes elements of u-pick spots so there are a lot of bases, toppings, and sauces to choose from. I recommend doing a majority of the toppings to get a variety going on in your bowl. The best bites are the ones that have a bit of everything. Their lychee drink is also so good, a must if you want a cute little refreshing bevie to pair with your bowl. They also have made-to-order musubis which is a nice switch up if you don't want raw fish, so this place is applicable to even picky eaters. I come here regularly for my poke fix, they never disappoint me.
