smoked brisket, coleslaw (extra), mango lassi, regular burger. dude said fries & burger were great.

Unfortunately the negative reviews are right; it's a very cute spot, rustic and clean, but with simply okay food. Brisket was basically flavorless, like 0 salt, and instead of bbq sauce, comes with gravy and ketchup. Comes with 2 sides; collards were decent, mac was completely flavorless, once again like 0 salt, and not cheesy beyond the broiled top. They charge extra for coleslaw; but it was a nice home recipe, if a bit mayo heavy. Mango lassi was decent; theirs is frozen, and had a nice mango syrup around the glass. Overall...I wouldn't go back, but wouldn't refund anything either. Nice service as well.

Halal!!! Honestly I think the owner started to listen to what the customer wants. I really enjoyed my time here. The food was amazing. Loved the wings, the briskets, the Mac and cheese, the burger. The wait time wasn't bad either. The food came out within 20mims compared to 1 hr or more before. Please give this place a try again. great job to the team and chef.

Great service and great food. Best of all for me it's halal! Everything I ordered came out in a timely fashion. The only reason I'm giving this 4 and not 5 stars is the distance. If this place was closer it would be one of my go-to places. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. Bonus they had World Cup games playing.

FINALLY made it to this very viral BBQ spot! We were greeted with popcorn and that was cute. Different than your average chips or bread. Our order started off with the Sweet Potato Corn Bread (VERY sweet), Chicken Quesadilla (super cheesy and I like the crunch of the tortilla) and the Onion Rings (solid, traditional, and yummy). Then we the a Mini Meat Platter. We weren't allowed to sub the Mac & Cheese (was ok... needed more sharp cheddar so it wasn't so flat) so we ordered a side Collard Greens (ALMOST as good as mine lol). All the meats were fall apart yummy with just a hint of smoke. The Burnt Ends were good and not oversauced, the Brisket was slightly, and I mean SLIGHTLY dry, the Beef Rib was fantastic, and the Oxtail left us both speechless. That Oxtail was TOP TIER!! The regular Corn Bread was significantly better than the Sweet Potato Corn Bread. And the cole slaw was a bust. The servers were nice, the place was clean. The prices are average for BBQ. I love that you can make reservations. My ONLY gripe was that it took FOREVER to get our food. Like, I know that meat is already smoked, what's taking so long??

The staff is very friendly. The establishment is clean with a good amount of seating for dine in. The food was good. I had the jerk BBQ chicken with collards and candied yams. The yams are mashed but very caramelized and delicious, the collard greens are ok a little more smoky tasting which I didn't care for. Just my preference I like collards more savory with smoked turkey meat in it. My friend had the Halal beef bacon cheeseburger with aoli sauce combo which came with fries and a drink. She also ordered a side of sweet potato cornbread. She said everything was good and she was happy with your choice. The chef came out and spoke to us he wanted to make sure we enjoyed and everything came out ok. I would definitely check them out again.

Great customer service, and the food is cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. I drove all the way from Queens, New York, just to visit this location, and it was well worth the trip. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!

Not like they used to be. The bbq ribs are no longer tender and the Mac and cheese is too soupy.

One of the Best BBQ Experiences I've Had in a While This place truly impressed me from start to finish. The décor is inviting and hip--modern yet warm, making it a great spot to sit back and enjoy a meal. You're seated at a table and order from there, which adds a relaxed, full-service feel. A fun surprise was the complimentary popcorn brought to the table--not your typical BBQ starter. While it was a unique touch, I'm still on the fence about how well it pairs with smoked meats. The food came out fast and piping hot, which is always a plus. My son ordered the burnt end sandwich and declared it the best he's ever had. I stole a bite and had to agree--smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. I went with the chicken sandwich, and wow--my taste buds were having a party. It was bursting with flavor, juicy, and perfectly cooked. And I can't forget to mention the pickles--tangy, crisp, and a perfect complement to the rich BBQ. This spot is a hidden gem. I highly recommend it to anyone craving top-tier BBQ with a cool atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Can here for lunch with the family after Eid. Place was packed and we had to wait well over an hour for our food. I wasn't aware that their menu is so limited now so we had to order some other things. For me I felt like the sauces were just too overpowering the meat. All I could smell for days was that bbq sauce.

I definitely couldn't wait to try this halal bbq! When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted! I was served by a nice young man. I ordered: Passionfruit Boba Chicken Mishkaki Collard greens/beef bacon mac and cheese Short Rib Sandwich Spicy Wings Masala Fries Chicken tikka mac and cheese I loved the wings the most with the chicken tikka mac a close second. All in all had a really good experience!

Addy's BBQ was so good. The food was super tender and the service was great. The owner (pretty sure it was the owner) actually came out and greeted people, which I really loved. And let's be realistic... this isn't McDonald's. The food is made to order, so it takes a little longer, but that's because they're making it right. Also, I'm not usually a saucy person with my food, but the sauces were actually really good. Totally worth the wait.

SO much more room to breathe. Maria's moved into the old Latin Port space at 87 Central Ave, and they've been in the new location for about two months now. You can actually walk in, have a seat, and not feel like you've accidentally walked into someone's living room. I popped in today for a quick latte to go and went with a hot Coko Loko (that's latte with coconut syrup and a lil' hint of choc). And just when I thought I was done, I got this little surprise at the end: fresh coconut flakes in the final sips. If you're a coconut person, you'll want to try this one!

I was also excited that they moved to a bigger, brighter space. There's ample parking in the back or street parking which are refreshing changes compared to the old location. *FOOD* The menu has something for everyone, from classic breakfast staples to more creative brunch options. Come hungry -- the portions are generous and everything tasted fresh and made to order. I highly recommend trying their seasonal tiramisu latte (I seriously would order this everyday if I could) and their Tex-Fast Bowl which was decadently delicious. The drink was creamy with a hint of sweetness and definitely lived up to its name. If you're not a brunch lover, they also have other options like burgers, wraps, house specialties, quesadillas, and much much more! *SERVICE* Staff was friendly and welcoming, though the pace could use some improvement which I'm sure they'll figure out over time as they just recently set up in this space. Overall, Maria's Brunch is a great spot in Metuchen that's definitely worth visiting!

A few logistical tips: while there is street parking, a public lot is conveniently located right across the street. The dining room is quite intimate with only about ten tables, and since they don't seem to take reservations, I recommend arriving early or being prepared for a wait. If you don't want to wait, they do offer takeout! Another suggestion is to browse their menu online before you arrive, the selection is extensive! We showed up without a game plan and needed several minutes just to decide because there were so many tempting choices! Luckily, our waiter was incredibly patient and helpful, answering every question we had. Once we decided, the real fun began. Every single item, and I'm not exaggerating, was phenomenal! We started with the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was sweet and perfectly portioned, along with a vanilla latte and a cappuccino. Both were classic, rich, and creamy. For the main course, we chose the "Chill + Qill It" Chilaquiles, which featured traditional corn tortillas topped with cotija cheese, avocado, pink sour cream, eggs, and your choice of protein. We also tried the Parkside Classic Sliders; the chicken was exceptionally crispy yet tender and juicy, served with eggs on a brioche bun. We opted to upgrade to the truffle fries, which were delicious! Although our sliders accidentally came with pickles, the staff was so kind and immediately offered to remake the dish or swap out the bun. Finally, we had the Grilled Chicken Egg Ranchero. It was like a breakfast version of nachos, loaded with beans, peppers, onions, an egg, those same crispy tortillas, and more of that signature pink cream! We couldn't leave without satisfying our sweet tooth, so we finished with the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It tasted exactly like a fresh cinnamon roll, the glaze was incredible, and the bread was perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining fluffy inside. I honestly cannot wait to go back and work my way through the rest of the kitchen's creations. This restaurant is a absolute must-visit for their unique combinations and superb flavors!

Chocolate chip pancakes were fluffy, good consistency, but unfortunately they were salty (everyone in my family tasted and we all agreed). The yogurt parfait - you can't really mess this one up but I would like a little more granola crunchiness. They skimped. French toast - objectively, a good but very rich dish. However, not really what I would call French toast. It's just very large "blocks" of bread, flavoured on the outside and with topping. But the super thick cut won't let the bread soak through like a normal French toast. Finally - house coffee was really not good. It's not a bad place but I would probably not return.
