This restaurant is absolutely worth the hype and a must-try if you're looking for a fantastic culinary experience. We made a reservation day-of (which honestly worked out perfectly, but in the future I'd try to have more forethought because it was a rather late lunch). Restaurant was absolutely gorgeous and we were immediately seated upon arrival. Our waitress was sweet and friendly. Our toddler had a moment when he started wandering around chasing birds and the staff was kind and non-judgmental. Star of the show was hands down the food. We ordered the whipped feta (3/5), the short rib hummus (5/5), the chicken thighs (5/5), and the pork belly (5/5). Everything was delicious, but the whipped feta, while good, was not as otherworldly and unique as everything else. Next time I'd hope to try the stracciatella instead.
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the city, Aba transported us to a different world from everything to the ambience, the lighting, the service, the workers and the food! Once we were dropped off we went down this walkway and noticed a bar area to the right. I thought that was a separate bar area but turned out to be a section of the restaurant. I looked to my left and there was a path with people sitting down the path. Basically this place was huge and turns out there are three separate bar areas you can find seating in and there are two to three huge main dinning areas inside & out. The whole vibe is like a jungle/forest vibe and the low lighting was perfect. The ONLY thing that could have made it perfect was a better selection of music. I would have never left. We ended up finding two seats at one of the bars in the patio area and our waitress was amazing! She gave us advice on a few items and even gave us one of her favorite desserts on the house. We decided to start out with the brisket hummus (amazing!), the jumbo crab cakes ( so good), and the grilled salmon (cooked to perfection). I also got a Mediterranean Mule and had her add passion fruit. Lastly, we had a date cake that was out of this world! I couldn't even explain it but it did have some sort of crème brûlée taste to it and I LOVE crème brûlée. Our waitress made the experience that much better, conversing with us and just having a good time. I wish I remembered her name to give her a huge shout out but she does work in the bar area. As mentioned, the dessert she let us try was the frozen yogurt drizzled with honey (it was the least favorite out of everything). Overall, I highly recommend checking out Aba and it's one of my top restaurants on the list. You will not be disappointed! I would recommend sitting in the patio area with the forest them. So excited to get yo work in Austin again as it means to get to eat in Aba which is just always exceptional! Enjoyed a mini reunion on the delightful back patio on this pretty spring day, shaded by a huge tree, it's a pretty spot in this city Service was exceptional thoughout ! We had to wait on a guest and they were patient with us as we enjoyed their always great classic hummus and delicious warm pita which they happily top up! Enjoyed some refreshing cocktails and I tried 2 of their dishes which I loved! The tuna tartare which was fresh with the right amount of heat and the cucumber dish which also lacked some heat and made me inspired to eat more cucumbers if I can replicate this dish! Cannot wait to be back - this is an Austin must try!!
Love it! I've been a few times.. even on my birthday! And they offerred a free frozen treat with a dandle :) The spot is so beautiful and immersive on South Congress, tucked into a walkway between buildings. There's greenery everywhere, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the covered patio gives it a slightly European feel. The lighting is soft and diffused, which makes the whole space feel a bit transportive. The menu pulls from a mix of Mediterranean influences like Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, and Greece, so there's a lot of flavor going on. The hummus is a standout. Super creamy, really well seasoned, and honestly one of those dishes you keep going back to. It's a great place to share a few things and try different flavors.
Great value if you come with a group and share a bunch of dishes. Service is pretty fast even when they're busy. Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous indoor and outdoor seating. The pita was seasoned and flavorful. The muhammara was more tomato and chili forward that walnut and date syrup forward like I prefer, but still yummy. The chicken skewers were good, but the ribeye was much better. The rice and sauces were so flavorful. The only thing I'd skip was the brussels and apple salad. It was good but there's probably better thing on the menu.
Best meal I had while visiting Austin! The lamb chops were so tender and not gamey at all, and my friends also thoroughly enjoyed their steak frites, kebabs, and hummus and feta dips. The cocktails were also delicious. The interior is dim and romantic, perfect for a date night or a fun girls' night! The outdoor seating is also beautiful, but it was cooler (temp-wise) inside so we opted for that. Would definitely recommend!
The ambience felt very fun. Loud music, lively diners/drinkers and I loved the decor and plants throughout. I was in town for a conference and was the last one in Austin so I found a spot at one of the three bars and dined there. I ordered the classic hummus as well as the chicken thigh dish. To drink, I enjoyed the "Aloe? It's Me." cocktail which was very tasty and refreshing. I judge a mediterranean restaurant by their hummus and this place did not disappoint. It was absolutely perfect, I could have eaten it all in one sitting but I stopped to save room for my entree. The chicken melted in my mouth. It had a perfectly juicy bite with a nice char on the outside and the entire dish was delicious. Every ingredient was so thoughtfully included to make it this tasty meal. The service was quick despite how busy they were. My water was filled right before it was fully empty which I appreciated after a long day at a conference and they were very friendly. I will absolutely recommend this place and try to dine here again the next time I'm in town.
We have been trying to get a reservation for one our trips to Austin and we finally made it work! We made reservations a month or two in advance. We were able to find street parking so that ran $4 for 2 hours compared to $30ish for the garage. We ordered the garlic humus and it was so good! It is served warm. We tried salmon and chicken kabobs and both were really good. We also enjoyed steak frites and a side of crispy potatoes. All of the food was great! Our server was so nice and attentive. The atmosphere is so cute! We sat inside and had water dripping on us so that was the only downside. But we will be back!
I came here for a work event and so got to sample a lot of food. Appetizers: - Of the dips, the eggplant was my favorite, then the hummus, then whipped feta - the crab cakes were good and on the slightly lighter side; not a must get but I could eat 2 of these because it wasn't so rich Mains: - the braised beef with polenta was my favorite entree. Tender beef with flavorful polenta dotted with seeds and glaze - Brussel sprouts were amazing and the crispy potatoes were good too but slightly less good. I'd still order both again. - grilled salmon was not overcooked but barely seasoned - grilled chicken was too dry, skip The date cake and chocolate cake weren't bad but not necessarily worth getting either. I was intrigued more by the Greek froyo. I also tried the mocktail green juice which was tart and tasty. I also had a glass of zinot(?) Something that tasted similar to a zinfandel.
One of the harder restaurants in Austin to snag a reservation but worth a try at least once. Definitely an aesthetic decorated restaurant located on SoCo. Food was tasty with a variety of options from short rib hummus to falafel to chicken/lamb dishes. Dessert options looked great, Greek yogurt is a must try. Friendly and amazing service, food came out quick and paced, and overall enjoyable dinner. There is garage parking, but street parking in the front would be the cheaper alternative. read more
Aba is that girl of Austin restaurants! From the moment you walk into the lush patio with twinkle lights and greenery everywhere, it feels like you've been transported to a chic vacation spot in the Mediterranean--but with a splash of Austin cool. Let's talk food: The whipped feta? LIFE-CHANGING. I would bathe in it if socially acceptable. The short rib hummus was silky, rich, and honestly deserves its own Nobel Prize. Every dish was packed with flavor, super fresh, and beautifully plated. Even the veggies were exciting (which says a lot). Cocktails = elite. The Purple Rain and Mediterranean Mule were both refreshing and dangerously easy to drink. Their cocktail menu is creative without being over the top. Vibes & Aesthetic: It's giving romantic date night, girls' brunch, and birthday dinner all in one. Trendy but not pretentious. Upbeat music, stunning decor, amazing ambiance--10/10 for the Instagram feed. Service: Our server was so friendly and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. Never rushed us, gave awesome recommendations, and kept the drinks flowing. Bless them. Pro tip: Make a reservation EARLY or prepare to wait, because Aba is POPULAR--and rightfully so. Overall? This place gets really busy and it seems like the reservations for normal lunch and dinner times are booked out several days in advance. We were set on trying this place and fine with a weird meal time, so we made a reservation for 1:45 pm. We got there and checked in at the front before being seated. We ordered and didn't see much of our waiter after we got our food. The food itself was pretty good. We ordered the favorite variety plate, Brussel sprouts, and the halibut. The feta dip was amazing. And the falafels were good too with a solid flavor to it. Everything was pretty good except for the garlic hummus, which tasted just like hummus and couldn't taste the garlic. The pita bread was very fresh and soft but they give you small portions and having to flag someone down to get it can take awhile. The google maps address leads you to a public parking lot that is ridiculously expensive. Aba validates parking, which helps with about $3 but after an hour and the validation, it still cost us $19. Beware of that. Don't park at that garage if you can help it and find public parking. read more

So so good!! Love the ambience with a Palm Springs/Miami vibe. We sat outside and there was a nice little breeze. We ordered the favorites dips what where soooooo delicious. We had the green falafel - it had a little kick to it and just as amazing. The service was attentive and kept checking on us throughout. We also got the Schwarma Spiced Steak Frites which were quite amazing. read more
We celebrated my birthday here a week ago. It was amazing. Since I try to watch my diet, it just made sense to try this Mediterranean Food Restaurant. We arrived on time and was seated a few seconds later. We ordered the Greek Village Salad, and Whipped Feta as our shared food. The feta came with pita bread. For my entree I chose the Kefta and Eggs. The feta was very creamy and pairs very well with the pita bread. I loved the salad as well. The dressing that it comes with is perfect. My lamb balls on the skewer were cooked just right. They were easy to eat. The fried eggs were also cooked very well. The tzaziki and rice complimented the meal perfectly. Our server Brian ensured we were taken care of. He was prompt from the moment we sat down to when we checked out. Also the bathroom sink area smelled so good! Although the place was crowded, I didn't feel boxed in. A great place to spend some romantic time with the one your with! read more

I'm giving Aba a hard 4 stars. I can genuinely say I enjoyed my experience here and the vibe is incredible. The restaurant feels incredibly lively and they did a great job with the layout. Not too bright, not too dark, not too loud, not too quiet. A very popular spot too so plenty of people enjoying meals here. Incredible. The food itself was solid. A few dishes were a bit off in taste to me but it could've simply been a preference thing. Morgan was great and guided us in the direction we were looking for. Plenty of dishes in the photos I'm posting, feel free to ask about any of them! The drink menu looked phenomenal too. Cheers! read more

Such a delightful place to dine -- great vibe, friendly, knowledgeable servers, and creative, well-presented, delicious food. Thanks Dani (sp?) for making a great meal even better! Every dish -- and the 5 of us had 10 or so of them -- whipped feta, eggplant, garlic humus, Brussels sprouts, haloumi, cauliflower, skirt steak, chicken thighs, and a beef/lamb kabob. And two desserts -- chocolate cake and cheesecake - yes please. Tasty wine and a delicious latte. Candidly, my Kettle One vodka martini was just okay. One of the top restaurants in Austin! Great people watching too ... Pricey ... worth it! read more
I was so excited to finally come to Aba since I do not live in Austin and reservations are always hard to get. They do take walk-ins but it is hit or miss and usually comes with a long wait, so I booked this one in advance. When we arrived the restaurant told us it was fully booked and there were no reservations available to change the time. But when we walked in the dining room looked kind of empty which was confusing. I assume they hold those for walk-ins but it still felt odd. The service was not my favorite. It felt rushed like we were being pushed to order quickly so they could turn the table which is disappointing when you come in with a reservation and want to enjoy the evening. As for the food the whipped feta was phenomenal and the Greek village salad was also really good. The entrées were underwhelming. We ordered the grilled chicken and the beef tenderloin and neither really impressed. The rice in particular was very citrusy which threw me off. As someone Middle Eastern I might be biased but it just did not work for me. The ambiance was beautiful but overall the experience felt overhyped. There are probably smaller Middle Eastern restaurants in Austin that get overlooked but serve better food. If I were to return it would be only for the appetizers. read more

Aba is located on SoCo (South Congress) in between a building walkway. The restaurant appears to be in a tree house or a rain forest with all the lush greenery surrounding it and throughout the restaurant (including indoor and outdoor seating). The overhang outdoor covering gives the seating a European feel. Also, Aba has diffused lighting, which emits a sultry, romantic vibe. This venue would be ideal for a wedding proposal or date night with a special someone. Ambiance is a key attractor for Aba. Since I was having a meeting, I had to focus on business and less on the ambiance. The menu is inspired from Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, and Greece -- flavor explosion for any palate. I met a colleague here for lunch and she has many food restrictions. She is a near vegan, cannot eat most vegetables and textures. We shared hummus for lunch (Smoky Garlic with ceci, aleppo & urfa pepper, and preserved lemon - best hummus of my life.) I also had the chicken kebab served with basmati rice including yogurt marinade, sweet pepper, and zhoug. Service was superb when we sat down and our order was taken. However, it took a good while for our food to be delivered. We had to ask our server for status. The restaurant was packed so they were backlogged according to our server...the only downside of dining at Aba. Paid street and garage parking is available. Some restaurants on SoCo validate for two hours, however, Aba gives you $3 off $12 (first hour). Aba is a unique dining experience - décor, menu selection and service. You feel transported to another place and time. Your taste buds will be jumping for joy from all the swirls of flavor you experience. The reality of where you are hits you like a ton of bricks as soon as your feet touch the SoCo sidewalk. Aba is two thumbs up for me...way up!! Definitely would like to explore more menu items... read more
I haven't been to Aba in about eight months so it was nice to be back! I absolutely love the Whipped Feta, it's my favorite thing on the menu--creamy, a hint of sweetness, salty, rich flavor. I also tried the beef short rib hummus which was delicious, nicely flavored and perfectly paired with the warm pita bread (can we talk about how flavorful and addictive the bread is?!?!) We also ordered the crispy chicken which wasn't well seasoned and not crispy due to it being soaked in a liquid and the beef kebabs which were my least favorites of the night. The Brussel sprouts were okay because they were so dry and salty. They needed a glaze on them and a sweet or spicy kick to them would have enhanced the flavor. The crispy potatoes which were well seasoned but missing something. Things to note about Aba! Tapas style! Although reservations are highly encouraged they will seat walk ins if they have the space. Happy hour is ONLY served at the bar/high top seats. This needs to be clearly noted on their website... Parking in the area is awful. They only validate up to $3 off parking which at minimum will be $25 if you're dining for an hour and parked in the garage. For a restaurant of this caliber parking should be fully validated. Our server was very sweet but extremely overwhelmed running between multiple tables. Be prepared to wait 10-20 minutes in between staff taking orders.. One lovely thing is that they expanded the space to add another 3rd bar and extra seating. read more
I wish I had been even hungrier than I was! This place is gorgeous, so much indoor and outdoor space. PLUS it's just fun to look at! Great spot for gluten free folks! The service was wonderful and I have no complaints on that. The girls and I did a little bit of this and that and it was well worth it. We just shared things that sounded good based off of what was gluten free for me. Amazing idea! Olives w/feta Whipped feta w/ gluten free crackers Chicken kabobs Lemon meringue frozen yogurt Drinks were all soda water w/mint and lime. Wow this place is really awesome I came back to Texas and had to stop at this establishment. Service ambiance food amazing. The waitress was very knowledgeable and suggested very nice plates. I enjoyed every moment there is a must to stop here when in Texas. read more
Aba is one of the most popular restaurants in Austin, and for good reason. Great food and beautiful vibe. If the weather is good, I would 100% recommend sitting outside rather than inside. It almost feels like a secret garden. In terms of food, you have to get the hummus and whipped feta. For the hummus, I had the short ribbed and smoky garlic - both were fantastic. I do not recommend the classic hummus (it was just okay). You can also get that anywhere. Be adventurous and try one of their more unique options! The whipped feta, watermelon & feta (more so the watermelon than the feta), and pita bread were also stand-outs. The things that I thought were just okay were the crispy potatoes, classic hummus, and chicken thighs. Not bad by any means, but nothing to rave about. The sour cream that the potatoes came with though was DELICIOUS. read more
You just cannot go wrong with Aba! Every time I go I am simply blown away by everything on the menu. The patio has immaculate vibes. It's shaded, so it's still comfortable even in the Texas heat. Our waitress was very passionate about telling us the menu which I always look forward to. It really speaks to the food when the staff raves about it. The falafel sauce really tied it together. My friend doesn't even care for falafel and he enjoyed it. The Lamb & Beef Kefta rocked my world!!! I would recommend every person order it. The whipped feta and hummus were phenomenal as well. LOVE ABA Great food, service, & scenery. 100% recommend a reservation. Yellowtail was good, but honestly nothing super special. LOVED the lamb chops, pairs well with veg and lemon. The best of all (not sure HOW they do it) but the Greek Village was the star of the show. Mixed with the whipped feta is to die for. Will be coming here again. read more
Aba might have the best outdoor dining in Austin. You feel like you're on vacation as soon as you are outside the restaurant. The food also happens to be amazing! We came on a Sunday for brunch and had a reservation. There was a line of people at the door exactly at 10am when the opened, so I'd definitely recommend booking ahead. The Thirst Trap cocktail was so refreshing, and I loved the glass they served it in. So pretty. We split the smoky garlic hummus, falafel, chicken kebab, and chocolate cake. The hummus was smooth and creamy, and I enjoyed the house-made bread. The sauce with the falafel was really good, and the chicken kebab was super flavorful. As for the chocolate cake, I loved it. It was a bit sweet for my husband, but I'm a fan of a rich chocolate dessert so it was right up my alley. Would be a great place to impress out of town guests! read more
I am giving a 2-star review based on my experience with the two bartenders at the second bar outside. One of them, Kaity, was particularly standoffish, and the other bartender--whose name I unfortunately did not catch--also made me uncomfortable. Their behavior felt unwelcoming, and I couldn't help but perceive it as racially insensitive. I personally dislike using that term and am very cautious about it, so please understand that I am being thoughtful in my choice of words. When I asked for Kaity's name upon leaving, she seemed aware of her attitude and immediately started being nicer, but it felt too late for that, Kaity. Now about the place, it is lovely and asthetic. The atmosphere transported us to our favorite restaurant in Dubai. We were blown away with the ambiance. Gorgeous restaurant with beautiful plants and thoughtful decor. We went for lunch! They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. While the prices may be higher, it is highly recommended to experience this establishment. read more

Wow. What a fantastic experience. There's so much more that goes into a restaurant experience than just the food. Now the food here was great, but our overall experience made this place incredible. For starters we had the feta as well as the mushroom hummus and while both were good, the mushroom hummus was to stand out for me. Not to mention the pita was perfectly cooked and as someone who spent a lot of time in Israel, I consider myself a pita connoisseur, and this was some incredibly well done pita. Following the dips, we had the haloumi, Brussel sprouts and halibut. Finally for dessert we had the honey pie and olive oil yogurt. The biggest standouts for me were definitely the brussels sprouts and honey pie after our dips. I still think about the honey pie and need to figure out a way to remake it. When I say that a lot goes into a restaurant experience, one thing driving, this stellar review is the service we received. Out waitress whose name escapes me deserves the biggest promotion ever. She was absolutely incredible and while the food was great, I would come back just to be served by her again. The ambience of this place is stunning as well and just the perfect spot for a nice dinner. Overall, I would recommend ABA to anyone in Austin and will be sure to come back next time I'm in town. read more

This was an excellent experience! I love Mediterranean food, and this one meet my expectations. The ambiance is a bit dark and hard to see the menu where i sat, but over all looks amazing inside, and the patio was nice and full. The service was great. Gave really good suggestions to our meal. The meal in itself was really pleasing. My favorite was the short rib hummus. And the green sauce went great matched with the salmon and steak. The Brussels hit the spot too. The added sweetness was a nice touch. Great job here guys!! read more

I went to this restaurant for the first time with my friend for happy hour. All appetizers on the menu were $5.00. I ordered the Smoky Garlic Hummus with ceci (roasted chicken pea), aleppo & urfa pepper and preserved lemon. As an added benefit, they were donating 100% of the orders to the victims of the Kerville floods. This was the tastiest hummus I ever had! Though you have to taste it for yourself, see the descriptions of each ingredient below to imagine the amazing combination of flavors: Aleppo is a spice originating from Aleppo, Syria, that's made from dried and ground red Halaby chilies. It's a staple of Mediterranean d Turkish chili pepper known for its unique flavor profile and dark, burgundy color. Urfa pepper is a Turkish chili pepper known for its unique flavor profile and dark, burgundy color. It's characterized by a combination of spicy, smoky, and fruity notes, with hints of chocolate, raisin, and tobacco. Unlike traditional chili flakes, Urfa Biber offers a mellow heat that develops over time and is often described as having a having a salty and sweet taste. Preserved lemons are salty lemons that have been pickled in salt and their own juice, resulting in a softened, mellow, and intensely lemony flavor with a salty, umami taste. They are a staple in Moroccan and other North African and Middle Eastern cuisines and sweet taste. Yum! It normally comes with homemade bread. Since I eat a gluten free diet, I opted for crudités instead. Though I could have eaten the whole hummus by itself, the vegetables were so fresh and perfect pairing with the hummus. Cucumbers, carrots, purple carrots, zucchini and lettuce. We sat at the bar; the service was very fast and the server was super friendly. My birthday was last week, and they still gave me a free dessert: a froyo with black cherry sauce and fresh black cherries. It was topped with a chocolate bar that said, "Happy Birthday." The Mediterranean ambience of the restaurant is subtle, beautiful and relaxing. I'm definitely going back for more! read more
The decor is beautiful and the ambiance is very festive. We sat inside because it was chilli but the outside patio looked great for a warm day. Our sever was not very attentive, we ordered more pita bread and had to ask twice. Our timing was perfect, we cleared the lunch rush. I had the steak kabob with white rice. The rice was very tasty, but the kabob ..I asked for medium well and it was way too pink. The other entree was the steak and fries. That was delicious! We couldn't get enough of the fries, they were so good, and the steak was perfectly cooked. The best thing we had was the brisket hummus. Amazing!!! This could have been a meal, it was a big portion. We will definitely go back, and I will try the chicken kabob! read more

The food and ambiance here is amazing! I've been here so many times and recently tried their steak and frites (since my usual go to is the kabobs, figured I try something different this time) and no regrets. It was perfectly cooked! Last night we celebrated a friend's birthday at Aba, my absolute favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Austin, and it was wonderful as always. The atmosphere is unbeatable--lush, green, and incredibly inviting. I love starting with their traditional margarita with Tajín on the patio while waiting for our table, they're delicious and on the stronger side (in the best way!). Aba also serves the best classic hummus in town. It's exceptionally creamy and flavorful, served with crisp vegetables and warm pita bread--pure perfection. For my entrée, I ordered the salmon skewers with basmati rice and shared the crispy rosemary potatoes, which were perfectly crisp and incredibly tasty. My friend enjoyed the char-grilled lamb chops served with broccolini, garlic yogurt, and a pistachio mint sauce. She said it was the best lamb she has ever had. They also brought out a complimentary birthday dessert, and we chose the chocolate cake - rich, flavorful, and the perfect sweet ending to a great meal. Aba is my go-to spot for special occasions. While it is on the pricier side, the quality, ambiance, and service make it worth it. I can't wait to go back! read more
pretty pricey $$$$$ but lots and lots of flavors! we arrived for a lunch vibe and it was mildly busy, but we still got sat and serviced fairly quick. the restaurant is beautiful and they have a cute exterior seating area. it's located right on Congress Ave, where there's plenty of shopping + exploring to do. we ordered the following: Aloe Vera drink - strong but still palatable. love that they were able to incorporate aloe into it. Falafel - ordered as an appetizer. comes with 4 pieces and sits on a bed of their avocado tzatziki + garlic tahini. such a fresh, bold, creamy lime mix of flavors. Beef x Lamb Kefta - served with a side of their buttery, fluffy basmati rice. the meat was delicious and prepared with lemon and olive oil. I normally dislike being seated outdoors to eat but the area their outdoor dining is designed was so nice and had such a great breeze it felt like I was on vacation in the Mediterranean. I came here with one of my friends and we tried the smoky garlic hummus, whipped feta spread, and the crispy potatoes. The potatoes were pretty large and had a really nice crispy outer layer. I wish there was more seasoning to the potatoes but it made for something nice to eat with the spread/hummus too. The smoky garlic hummus had a nice garlicky flavor that tasted even better later as leftovers. The whipped feta was my least favorite since I'm not a fan of feta, but I tried it anyways because this was something my friend really wanted to order. I've heard a lot of great things about this place but I left my dinner disappointed. First of all, the service and ambiance were fantastic. Our waiter was super knowledgeable and was eager to give us recs. However, the food left a lot to be desired. We started with the whipped feta and the truffled salmon. The truffled salmon was good, but the whipped feta was way too salty. We ordered the charred eggplant to give another dip a chance. However, that dip had an unpleasant smokey flavor that overpowered the dish. We also ordered the brussels sprouts and the lamb and beef kefta. Both dishes were solid but nothing special. The brussel sprouts were just a little bit too sweet for my liking. We ended the night with the sticky date cake, which was my favorite dish of the meal. Overall, I would say half the dishes were disappointing and the rest were just ok. Everyone in my party felt the meal was extremely overpriced and underwhelming. read more

Finally made it to the infamous Aba for brunch! We had reservations for 10:45am (quite early) and oh my, the parking on South Congress is insane! I had to park about a half of a mile away and walk to the restaurant. There's also a parking garage near but it's kind of expensive. Despite being late, we were still seated and not given a time limit on our stay. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We were sat outside and I was thankful for the umbrellas and fans to help keep cool. I ordered the Kefta & Egg which included lamb & beef kefta, scrambled eggs, tzatziki, and lemon dill rice. The eggs and the lemon dill rice were the stars of the show for me. The eggs were so fluffy, tastes like they had the chicken laying eggs in the kitchen! The lemon dill rice was good as well. The lemon dill was a nice twist to the rice and wasn't too overpowering. My lamb and beef kefta however, was a bit too dry. I am not sure if it should have been that dry but thankfully the dish is served with tzatziki sauce because it come in handy. I enjoyed my dish and would return to try other dishes but I do think this place is a bit overhyped. read more
I'll start off my saying very aesthetic interior. They had a ton of outdoor and indoor seating, and we went very late (9pm on a weekday) so no issues with seating. We decided on a mushroom hummus which was probably the best dish that we ordered. The mushrooms had a slightly smoky (?) flavor that went really well with the pita and the hummus itself tasted really fresh. The grilled pork belly was meh. Super small portion but it honestly was enough bc it was so mid. Crispy, yes, but flavorful? No. Definitely was missing something. It just tasted like fatty pork belly with some yogurt tasting cream that was a textural nightmare. I wish they added some herbs or veggies to lighten up the oily/fatty flavor pork belly has. Salmon skewers were also pretty good. Salmon was very soft and the rice had a nice flavor. But again, everything tasted like it was missing something. There wasn't any spice, just salt. The biggest ick was that all of the cutlery had sticky handles like they weren't washed properly which was gross. Our server was chill, nothing crazy. Overall, it was good enough to finish every dish but I wasn't blown away, hence the 4 stars. read more

I was surprised to be seated so quickly since it's in a busy area and SXSW was going on that weekend. The place was so pretty and the food was great quality. Our server was also so nice and gave great recommendations for food on the menu and activities to do in Austin. read more

Went during happy hour, absolutely exquisite experience. The vibes are great, servers are great, and the food even better. Happy hour is at the bar only, so get there a bit early to make sure you have a spot. The chilled cucumbers are great, id recommend the whipped feta if sharing with a few people. For dessert the lemon meringue frozen yogurt is absolutely stellar. read more
