Great experience! Bartenders were all great & explained options for HH being our first time in. Food was top tier & very tasty ! Also , made a note on what we want to try next time in . Aesthetics were not the usual steak house options but it very pleasant . Lots of plants & a more casual vibe !

This restaurant is incredible and I cannot wait to come back! We ordered cocktails, oysters, lobster tail, two of the steak options, broccolini and bok choy, Mac and cheese croquettes, and the kimchi fried rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and our server made fabulous recommendations. The restaurant itself is very cute and I'd love to come back to sit at the bar.

What a great spot omgoodness. Brent was an awesome server and Dolce had us laughing and enhanced the meal every step of the way. Thank you both!!! Finally had the chance to go and we were not disappointed. . The pork belly appetizer was delicious. The squash and Sea Bass were perfect in every way and so flavorful. I have never had a Tomahawk Steak and there was so much flavor to it. Perfectly cooked and so tender. Yummmmmm This is a restaurant I look forward to our return. There were so many other things we must try!!! #delicious, @a5steakhouse, #A5steakhouse, #BlackbirdFLY

No notes, the food was incredible and the service was even better. For appetisers, the oysters were amazing, the poutine was very unique, and the kimchi fried rice was delicious. The menu had unique items and Korean influence, so this is not your typical steakhouse. For dessert, the sesame tart was a 10/10 for me, I would come back just to get this! Joe was an amazing server and gave us great recommendations!

This places fills up quick so get a reservation in place. We went here on a Thursday night and its a cozy restaurant with a second floor. We ordered several dishes with anticipation to take some home and finish off our entrees. The house salad with the poutine as our starters. House salad had a good mix of crunch with the dressing and I would highly recommend the poutine. Crispy fries, tender pot roast, and very flavorful curry that has a kick with the red pepper...too good. For the sides, we got cabbage and the mac n cheese and both were good. For my main entree, Picanha steak with chimichurri sauce. The cut was to order and was delicious/tender. Overall...would definitely recommend anyone going here for a nice evening dinner.

Was visiting Denver as a party of 6 and decided to make reservations here for our brother in law's 50th birthday at 6:30 pm on a Monday. This was a recommended place online so that's how we chose this place and boy were we glad we did. Place was casual which was great because we hate dressing up. Atmosphere was great and my 11 year old niece said this place was a vibe. Iforgot to take a picture of the seafood tower. We ordered the small one which was perfect because only half of our table could eat seafood. It came with oysters, lobster, shrimp cocktail and ceviche. This is a steakhouse so we all had to order a steak. I loved that they sliced them and cooked them so deliciously. The sides were amazing we cleaned up all the plates. Cocktails were all good. Thanks for the great attention to our brother in law for his bday and our family. Service was top notch.

My mouth is watering just thinking about the meal I had at A5! My friend and I have been bopping around steakhouses in Denver, finally getting around to trying this one in LoDo. We were seated upstairs (the hallway is kinda narrow and wall lights are bright) overlooking the main floor of the restaurant. It felt so fancy! I had the Denver Steak (medium rare) with a Dirty Martini. We started with Oysters Motoyaki and Mac & Cheese Croquettes. The tomato jam for the croquettes is to die for. Everything we got was phenomenal, including the sherbet. Would definitely prioritize coming here again, even if it's just for their Happy Hour!

This is in a great location in downtown Denver quick access to Ball Arena. It is a wonderful steakhouse Japanese style. All of the add-ons were just delightful. Food was just delightful. The staff was also very attentive. I wish I would've tried something other than the chicken, but I thought I might like that better than a heavy steak, but everybody else's steak looked amazing. That milk bread is delicious.

yakitori
Morgan A.

Loved the appetizers we got - yakitori was amazing, mac and cheese croquettes were a surprising fave & the hamachi was kick ass. The split lobster was awesome as expected. The caesar salad was not what we were expecting, it was pretty funky. If you're looking for a classic caesar flavor skip this. The wait staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive. Tried the tartare sando as well and it was pretty awesome.

This was definitely a splurge of a dinner when I came here with a group of friends for a celebratory dinner. Upon arrival we were directed to the bar to grab a drink as our large party table wasn't just quite ready. No issues for us since we instead asked if we could enjoy oysters alongside our cocktails. That was going to be part of our meal anyways so why not make the most of it? Once we were directed to our table near the large windows, that's when the dining experience began. From Japanese milk buns to bone marrow topped steak, it was flavorful but expect to spend a pretty penny if you want to explore the menu. I enjoyed their wine selection and they had something for any price range of preference. It's a cute environment and the staff was super friendly. I have to say they also had a heavy pour on the drinks so that was a plus.

Asparagus

Spontaneously came to this spot on a wimp and was able to find bar seating despite not having a reservation. Looks like it gets real busy between maybe 5-8pm on the weekend. Its a nice little rustic intimate steakhouse. Do emphasize that by no means, intimate. Because the restaurant is small. The noise level was practically a concert. The food was well made with good portion to split between 2 people. My only complains that the food took forever to get to us. Everyone left by the time we got our foods. The steak has a nice very very salty crust on the outside. I had to take a sip of water after every bites. But it paired nicely with the unseasoned whipped potatoes. I am not sure what sauce was on the steamed asparagus that they did not list on the ingredients menu. But the asparagus was slimy. Without the topping it was like eating wet slimy bland asparagus. The food was filling, but not tasty as I would like for that price point.

Negroni and Dirty (vodka) Martini
Noah K.

Pulled up on a whim on a Friday and was stoked to get sat immediately for two. Very upbeat vibe and no snobby steakhouse energy. Service was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The Negroni was decent but the martini was fire. Of course the steak was the star of the show. 12oz Delmonico was surprisingly affordable and was cooked perfectly. Great cut of meat and the chimichurri was a perfect add on. Based on this experience, I'm excited to come Back and try more of the menu. Proper steakhouse experience approved.

Meat for lettuce wraps
Val R.

Parking was scarce as this was downtown, so be prepared for that when making a reservation. We were quickly seated & our drink order taken. We chose the tartar sandwich for a starter. It was a generous portion. Not the best we've had. A little bland. Sadly, the bread was really soft & got soggy quickly. We ordered the flank steak medium and the lettuce wraps. Lettuce wraps were spicy! Plenty of meat, but there could've been more veggies. Flank steak was buttery, but didn't stand out. The side of kimchi fried rice was really good. We would get that again in a heartbeat. Service was ok. Food took a generous amount of time to come out. Be prepared to wait because it's all made to order. Overall a decent place to take your time & have a leisurely meal.

The flavors were immaculate and well thought. Overall, it's a beautiful environment with some of the best food in the city! 10/10 and will come back if I ever visit the area again.

Lots of professionals seemed to hang out here after work. They offer a great selection of steaks, half size portions of sides (which is amazing) and an array of cocktails and wine. We got wine so o review on the cocktails, however the table next to us raved about them. Prices were reasonable for a steakhouse in Denver. Steak was cooked perfectly! I got grass fed New York and my friend got filet. Hers was slightly under but nothing she couldn't eat. The best thing on the menu... black truffle Mac and cheese!! Wow! The octopus was also tender and had great wood fire flavor. Our server was a bit all over the place and when we needed something, I had to track down someone else. Didn't love that. Would definitely come back again!

We started with the burrata based on Yelp reviews and they weren't wrong. Super fresh tasting, and the focaccia paired with it perfectly. It's an upcharge but worth it, and you aren't at a place like this to pinch pennies anyways. We both chose the rigatoni, we had a heavy lunch, and it was perfect. The sauce was deep and hearty and the pasta was exactly al dente. We split a strawberry guacamole sorbet and glad we did, it was larger than expected and absolutely delicious. Place has the feel of a modern restaurant, very sleek. My only complaint was that we were seated next to a room with a large group and it was hard to hear each other talk, but nothing to be done about that. Really great place with a highly focused menu that knocks it out of the park. J.Ja

We started with the burrata, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST burrata I've ever had. Not the best in Denver. The best, period. Backed that up with a solid salad, then moved into a homemade pasta with ragù that had no business being that good. Finished with dessert and walked out wondering why we'd even bothered with Utria in the first place. Here is the thing though... sometimes you need a bad experience to land in the right place. Very cool!! The food was good but not great. For the price, I'd expect something a little better but the beef tenderloin was cooked exactly the way I ordered it (complete with peppercorn crust). It was tender but maybe a bit dryer than I like for a filet. The peppercorn crust was amazing! The Saratoga chips are made in house and they are very good as well. Super crispy with the right amount of salt. We got a history lesson from one of the servers, about 10min worth of backstory about the restaurant and it was almost like dinner and a show. Parking is a bit tight if they're busy but it's downtown Denver so that's typical. Other than the price being a bit high for the quality, this place is a good time and a good meal.

We were traveling from out of state and saw a tiktok about this place. We decided we needed to give…read moreit a try since it has history. This was by far the worst part of our trip to Denver... be warned. Parking: There is free parking in the back of the building. When we first walked in we were greeted and brought to our reserved tables upstairs. If you decide to try this place, get a reservation and do downstairs. There is so much more to look at downstairs! Instead, we were brought to a backroom that was much cooler(in temp) and had way less to look at... we felt "put into the corner." It was busy, and it appeared they were short staffed. It took a long time for our server to get to us. She was very sweet and I definitely felt for her, she was really trying! However, it took awhile to get our drinks, the complimentary bread came out after our appetizer and house salads... anything complimentary should come out right away. The food: We got the Rocky Mountain oysters and I actually thought they were good! The cocktail sauce is very tomato forward and the "horseradish sauce" was a joke! There was absolutely no flavor and I am convinced it was just sour cream! If you do order these, ask for their ranch- it was dill flavored and delicious! The house salad was good But wet... like I had water on my plate. If you want a Caesar Salad it will cost an extra 7.50!!!!!!!!! Why!? That doesn't make any sense! The complimentary sourdough was good but the whipped butter had no taste at all... we had to sprinkle some salt on it for it to actually taste decent. We got the New York strip 16oz and the Elk steaks. The New York strip was the worst steak we have ever had! It was supposed to be cooked to a medium but was definitely closer to a medium rare. The butter on top did not have any flavor and was pointless. It had a fair amount of fat on it and the crust tasted "ashy" to us. It was expensive so we ate it, but terrible! The mashed potatoes were not mashed well! I had a whole potato in it! The veggies were mushy and overcooked. The elk steaks were actually very good! I would recommend that! The wild rice was brown rice with a few wild rice pieces... and again mushy veggies! The total price for one alcoholic drink, one bottled soda, a half order of Rocky Mountain oysters, the New York strip and elk steaks was over $200 with tip. We went to the restrooms afterwards and they were disgusting and dirty! If we are spending over $200 on a meal it better be great service, food and ambiance! This missed the mark HEAVILY! If you do feel the need to go here, get a table downstairs, make a reservation, get the Rocky Mountain oysters with the dill ranch and the elk steaks.

People either love or hate the 50's decor that Mad Men picked up on decades later. I'm in the former camp and like sitting upstairs most of all. Today, we sat downstairs for the first time. Quiet and cozy with the Rat Pack looking on, the mood was chill, anticipation high. Service is consistently attentive, prompt, and friendly here. Jason greeted us warmly and followed this with soft, warm bread with Anaheim-spiced garlic butter that we could have filled up on and left happy. It's stellar. Drinks arrived quickly: my Great Divide farmhouse ale and a potent White Russian that had mom in silly mode. Mom took her salad to the woodshed. My cup of green Chile corn chowder hit the spot. We were stoked when our server from my last birthday brought our entrees. It felt like home. While the "Sugar Steak" is their calling card and a number of topping combos are available, we went for straight up beef. No regrets. Medium rare? Perfect. Mom's filet mignon torched the one I had at Gallagher's in Las Vegas a week ago--at a much better price. I tried the wagyu coulette (picanha). Unbelievably tender, it's my new Bastien's fave. Side and soup or salad come with your steak--none of the a la carte nickel-and-diming found at most steakhouses nowadays. This sets Bastien's apart. We enjoyed the twice-baked potato and white cheddar mashers. I can vouch for the loaded baked potato and French onion soup, as well. Overall, Bastien's offers unique ambiance, stellar service, solid steaks & value that fancier spots don't have. No BS service fees. It feels like they are here for you, not the other way around.
