I came here for dinner with the fam and had gamjatang for the first time. My experience here was pretty good despite having to wait an hour and 15 minutes for my food. SO, on to the review: Service ****4 stars The servers were nice and courteous, and even gave my family a complimentary donkatsu b/c we each ordered something!( only 6 items) They were very understanding of my elderly mom who kept accidently pressing the service button(6x!!!) Food **** 3.5 stars The food was pretty good, the seafood pancake was thicker than I normally like. It was still crispy but not as much as it could be if it were thinner. The gamajatang was flavor packed and oh so rich. They didn't skimp on pork bone either!! Great deal! Experience ***3 stars Overall I had a pretty good experience,I mean they offered free food! The only thing that happened is that my whole family had gotten their food and finished eating while I was STILL waiting for my food and nobody told me why . But I mean things happen and we'RE all human. I ended up packing it all Togo and took it home to eat. Luckily I had scrubbed off the fam and wasn't too hungry. I'd love to give them another try and update my review though! read more

I haven't been to A-Hyang in ages and a friend suggested it because he wanted tonkatsu. Side dishes: 6 banchan and one was yummy seasoned eggs! Food: My friend ordered the king tonkatsu ($17.99). It comes with soup, rice, and salad. There was a sweet brown sauce drizzled all over it. I tried it, sauce was okay, but I'd probably ask for it on the side. The tonkatsu was more batter than meat - very thin and too crispy for me. The portion is great for 3-6 people to share if you guys are ordering other food. We also had the bibimbap, yukgaejang, and budae jjigae $9.99. My bf has the bibimbap dolsot which does not come with meat $9.99. My yukgaejang was how I enjoy it - large slices of meat with some noodles and came with a bowl of rice $9.99. A-Hyang is known for their budae jjigae and my friend had no complaints. All stews are priced as anywhere else. Service: they were quick to respond when we pressed the button and most of the staff also speak English which makes ordering/asking questions easier since I'm not always with someone who knows Korean. read more

One of the best Korean food restaurants in atlanta.. seriously haha this is a go to spot for my friends and I when we cannot think of a place to eat. I would recommend the donkatsu and mool nangmyun . The meat is tender with a crispy outside and the broth for the noodles are so goood and rich in flavor read more

Located in the same shopping center as Danmooji and next to Mister Kim, so plenty of parking spaces! Got there around 1:00-1:30pm, which every table was occupied. Luckily, they have another room in case it's too crowded out in the main dining area. So we were seated quickly, our waitress brought out our waters and came back a few minutes later to ask for our order. We ordered their donkatsu, beef ribs and their BuDae Jigae (single serving). The waitress shortly brought out some banchan items that included boiled seasoned eggs, a mayonnaise type cabbage salad, kimchied bean sprouts, fish cakes, kimchi and radish kimchi. Donkatsu was very generous in size. Very crispy, fresh, and served with rice and a chopped cabbage salad with a pink dressing. (There is a king donkatsu which is a bigger portion but the one we ordered was definitely enough and only for $9.99!) Their beef ribs were pretty good. Nothing too different t about these compared to many other Korean establishments. Their budae jigae has slices of spam, hot dogs, a few rice cakes, sweet potato noodles, onions and tofu. Definitely would come back! read more

The star dish here is Korean pork cutlet, Donkasu. Donkasu is a Koreanized Tonkatsu, a Japanese takeaway of Schnitzel in Germany. The regular Donkasu dish ($9.99 for lunch) is still a huge meal for one, but there is a King Donkasu, close to a double portion of the regular one. I enjoy their cold noodle dishes ( and both) to go with Donkasu when I share with other people. The cold noodles are not the best in town, but the Donkasu makes it everything worth it. You might get sick of Donkasu for a little while after finishing the huge portion, but you will go back for the dish again for sure. read more

This place was busy and kind of crazy. Most of the time, busy means good food but it was just okay. We had lunch around 12 o'clock. We decided to get the buckwheat noodle + la galbi combo and pork cutlet. We were seated inside the restaurant but it had a funky smell to it. Also the walls were dirty. Even if you go to the bathroom area it's kind of filthy. What the restaurant needs is a really deep cleaning. It's a bad sign if you have to get up and ask for a menu but after we ordered, we eventually got our food. The bibim noodles was okay. They put A LOT of sauce. We actually had to take some out. The LA Galbi portion was small. Taste was mediocre to me. They were busy so I don't think they took much time cooking it. It was still red a bit. The pork cutlet was good. Large and crispy. Theres just something about this place that needs improvement. Staff is friendly but they seemed overwhelmed. A lot of the food would come out one by one. Maybe someday I could try again but again, the place needs a good clean. read more

A-Hyang - Bibim noodles with an ass load of sauce... - Korean Near Me - Duluth, Georgia

Currently searching for a solid Budae Jigae... I think I may have found it. Parking - There's a huge lot. Even during rush hour, you'll find a spot. The worst thing that could happen: You park a little further away. Space - There are 2 sides of A Hyang, I think. I saw lots of space/tables. I didn't see the other side, but I feel like they can survive a rush. Service - It was ok. I was alone, so they didn't really come to check up on me. Just wish my water was filled often. They were a tad busy, so I'll let it slide. Food: Banchan was good. Pretty average. I've had bette banchan elsewhere. Budae Jigae - So far in my hunt for a solid Budae Jigae... A Hyang's version is extremely good. Filled with delicious ingredients, had way more than I expected portion wise, and tasted just like my mom's. I ate it slowly just to savor the stew. The broth was delicious. read more

I got the beef and seafood tofu soup here. They barely gave any seafood in my dish (and it was majority tofu). However, the tofu soup had a very nice flavor. Also, the side dishes were alright. They're not the best that I've had, but they pass. I would recommend this place if you're looking to go somewhere later in the evening since they close later than other spots. read more

My family went to A-Hyang for the 1st time on Saturday (October 21). My daughter was recommended it by her co-students (Graduate school). My husband wanted Authentic Koren food. I would say that he got his Authentic Koren food. The food was FABULOUS and AUTHENTIC. For Appetizer, we had Fish cakes, Kimchi, jelly, seaweed, pork bits, and Fried dumplings. The Fried Dumpings was the best (I order extra to take home). My husband, daughter, and I had Bulgogi Dolsot Bibmbab (WAS A LOT Need to share), my son had Chicken Jaeyuk Dolsot Bibmbab (Need to share). The services were the Best & TOP, FRIENDLY, & FAMILY ORIENTED. We will be going back there again. I highly recommended the A-Hyang restaurant for relaxation, get together, or after work. read more

I visited this restaurant during my trip to Atlanta area in July. One of my friends said this place had good Korean food and I had to try it. My friend was right and this place was a gem. I ordered Wang Donkatsu thinking it would be big. It was HUGE!! And it tasted so good. It was seasoned perfectly and so flavorful. I ate only a quarter of the plate as I was so full. My husband ordered cold noodle (mul Naengmyeon) & stir-fried sliced pork. They were excellent & so savory. I took rest of Donkatsu & ate it the morning after. It was still good. I wish I could have ordered more food. Definitely I will visit this restaurant next time I go to Atlanta area. read more

I've been wanting to try A-Hyang for a while and after a recommendation from the ladies that did my facial, I finally made it over for lunch today. Note that their lunch specials are only Monday through Friday. It was also not too packed on Sunday for lunch, which I thought it would be from the after-church lunch crowd. Plenty of seats to go around and we had a party of 6. Service was pretty decent. The restaurant itself could use a little more air conditioning and/or air circulation. I was hot. I got the mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in cold beef broth) as per a recommendation from the facial ladies. Not to mention, I've been craving some cold noodles a lot lately. At less than $9 for a medium sized cold noodle which by the way was HUGE, I'd say it's a pretty legit deal. The broth here was also excellent and they give you both spicy red sauce and the hot mustard and vinegar to add to your broth to taste. There was also more meat in this dish than I usually get at other places. Excellent value. Portion sizes and value here are great - my friends had massive portions and lots of meat in their dishes (katsu and stone pot bibimbap). Great choice for lunch! read more

A-Hyang is actually pronounced "Eh-Hyang." Just from reading the English name, I thought it was pronounced "Ah-Hyang." However you pronounce it, it's just another, average Korean restaurant. I tried their infamous Gam Ja Tang. The pork was indeed falling off the bone, which I loved. The broth didn't have the intense flavor I was looking for. I still liked it, but I think Yelp over hyped it. Their Wang Tonkatsu looked awesome. The plate it came on was the size of my torso. "Wang" means "King." So it lived up to its name. I tried a piece, and it tasted good. The breading had a nice, crispy texture. Their Naki Bokkeum tasted good. It consisted of chopped octopus with hot sauce, onions, and peppers. I wished they had more octopus. At the end, they gave us some fruit slushie/smoothie thingy. I asked the waiter what it's made of. He didn't know. read more

Yummy Korean food where the meat, soup, and the banchan all hit the spot. A-Hyang is a Korean restaurant that is located in Nukoa Plaza, just north of Satellite Blvd on Steve Reynolds. The ambiance is casual and the food is moderately priced. Highlights: My favorite part of my meal was the LA Galbi ribs. The beef was sweet, tender, and very tasty. The variety of banchan offered was excellent for 2 people. We were served broccoli with gochujang, fishcakes, seasoned hard boiled egg, cucumbers, shaved potatoes, macaroni salad, and kimchi. I was pleasantly surprised that two people would get so many side dishes. The macaroni salad had little pieces of apple and the shaved potatoes came with little pieces of mushroom. I thought the hard boiled egg was well-marinated in its sauce. The Haemul Sun Tofu (seafood tofu stew) was also quite good. Plenty of tofu, an adequate amount of seafood (mostly clams), and the right amount of spice. Critiques: The servers were pleasant and friendly, but the service was a little slow when seated in the side room. Overall: I really liked my food. Also, I was happy that the restaurant is not cheap with the banchan when there's a party of 2. I'll be happy to come back here again. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant for years and was pretty disappointed in my recent visit here. I've referred many friends and clients here over the years and literally the other week. Don't think I will be coming back. I did hear the owners changed here. From this recent visit they seem more concerned about saving some money/making more extra dollars where they can. We came on two recent visits not that far apart and the service and dining experience was night and day. Tonight's visit was a miss from start to end. What happened? It seemed like a completely different staff from the other recent visit who were super helpful, accommodating and friendly. They weren't even fully packed when some of our party arrived but by the sounds of it, it looked like it was pretty disorganized and unaccommodating as we had a group of 7 adults and 4 kids. Thanks to my friend we finally got them to seat us even though the said it would be a 45 min wait. Wondering if they even wanted our business. More than half of our party was there but it took some time for us to even get water. We were just sitting at this table with no water or menu for awhile. We ordered 7 entrees but received no refill on banchan even after a friend requested a refill on an item or two. We also had to ask a couple of times for refill of water as no one came by to offer refills. Last, the person running the front desk/cash register charged us extra for some bowls of rice even though we were not informed of an extra charge for rice nor was it listed on their menu anywhere... Disappointing. He told us that since we had a larger party of 12 (which it ended up being 11 people, 7 adults and 4 kids which two of them were 2 years old, one 3 year old, and one 4 year old) that we only ordered 7 entrees/dishes... Also, that some of the dishes didn't come with a bowl of rice. It was not our fault that they gave us extra rices and put it in front of us... He wasn't apologetic or understanding and proceeded to charge us $1.50 per rice bowl. He said it's their policy and we only ordered 7 entrees/dishes even though we had 4 kids sitting with us. Mind you two of the entrees ordered were noodle/kalbi combos that were $20 a piece. Don't know how they expect 2-3 year olds kids to order full dishes here where they would barely eat anything. We've requested extra small bowls of rice in the past and was never charged here in all of our visits to this establishment. Also, it was really warm inside the restaurant. It's August and some of us were sweating. It did not feel the A/C was even on. They definitely needed it to be turned on stronger. Again, it's not about the money...it's about the principle. If you're going to charge extra for something, inform inform and inform. Bummed that this place changed for the worst. Hopefully, going forward they will inform their customers of any extra charge such as for a small bowl of rice by telling them when a customer orders one to confirm that a customer would still want it or listing it that they charge extra for rice in their menus. Knowledge is power. Doing fair business goes a long way...not trying to take advantage of customers. read more

I've always been a fan of A-Hyang for years but their level of delicious-ness definitely decreased since the change of owners. The food isn't bad by all means but I do miss the old A-Hyang flavors. I always come here for their donkasstsu. It's perfectly crispy and the portion is great. Their cold noodles (nang-myun) is really good too. Their stews are hit or miss. One time, my friend got one of them and it literally tasted like spicy water!! There was no flavor whatsoever and we were all shocked at how tasteless it was. We had to ask them to make it again and it came back better. This a place is great to come eat casually and if you're not looking for something special. It's mediocre but the service is quick and food is good enough. read more

I've had gamjatang at five different places across the US, from LA to NY, and so far I think A Hyang has been the most legit. It is the first time in the US that the gamjatang has been served with that tangy mustard dipping sauce. We called and tried to place a to-go order for Tteok Mandu Guk. While placing the order, the woman that answered the phone was very rude. We tried to ask if the dish had any pork ingredients because we don't eat pork for religious reasons. She kept insisting that we add pork in addition to the dish we were trying to order. I understand language barriers and I was being very calm with her. She kept getting more and more impatient and acting like she had an issue with us not wanting to order pork? She didn't want to take our order. We calmly and politely apologized to her for making her upset and told her that she seemed like she was having a bad day and we wanted to cancel our order. She just hung up the phone. We ate here once prior to COVID-19 and the food was good. We won't be returning again if this is how they treat their customers. read more

Have been to this place many times and their Budae Jigae always keeps me going back. Their hotpots are what we usually get to share with several people. Ambiance is nice, the staff is friendly, and the service bell at the table is very convenient. We'll definitely be going back. read more

A few people said they have all you can eat Gamjatang, which is pork neck meat with potatoes and some greenery in a stew that's cooked on your table. One person said it was not good. We went there anyway, because it's really hard to go wrong with Gamjatang, let alone all you can eat!~ I seriously ate way too much. We got two extra servings of meat and ate all of it. Fantastic. Then they put rice in the meat, and covered it in mozzarella cheese - and it was amazing! All inclusive. Servers were very nice, and the side dishes were all good - they even have small omelets as a side dish and they give you more - a definite plus! Honestly, I would give it 5 stars, but I found a hair in my salad. uggh. It was a random thing I guess, and I was quite turned off until the real food came out, then I instantly forgot about it and proceeded to stuff my face until my stomach told me it would have no more. read more

Group of us came for dinner and we ordered 3 hot pots. 1. Potato Pork Soup 2. Seafood Soup 3. Ham sausage soup. All of the hot pot were huge. 1. Potato Pork Soup 3.5 stars. Soup was but blend. However, pork was very tender and flavorful. There were few veggies like string mushrooms, mint leaves, green onions and few green veggies. 2. Seafood Soup 4 stars. Soup was very fresh and flavorful. Seafood was fresh not like the ones in the frozen bags. I like that they put udon noodles inside. It's definitely a plus. There were veggies like wood eat mushrooms, carrots, green veggies, etc. seafood like shrimps, squids, octopus, mussels, clams, and blue crab. 3. Ham and sausage soup 4 stars. It's loaded with tons of sausages, hams, kimchi, clear noodles, and greenies. We added a side order of ramen noodle. Other than the hot pot soups, we were served with plenty of banchans (side dishes) which included marinated eggs, spicy cucumbers, oden (fish cakes), sour seaweed, bean sprouts, and soy sauce potatoes. Service was excellent. There's a bell on the table to call the servers whenever you needed things. I will definitely be back and try other items on the menu. read more

This is a great place if you're craving Korean food. They have a wide variety noodles, rice, and tofu dishes that are certain to please. Though it's a Korean restaurant, I always go for the donkatsu, which also comes along with rice, a salad, and soup. Not to mention, the banchan is quite nice since there's a good amount of tofu, egg, kimchi, and the like. The plate is a great value and a ton of food. They drizzle it with their own sauce which is OK, I'm not the biggest fan. But the preparation is good and the protein is never too thick nor has it been over-fried. I've only come here for dinner, so I cannot comment on the lunch, but I expect more or less the same thing. Some other things that are good are the katsu and bimbibap. Pretty much the food here is average in my opinion but portion sizes make it someplace worth visiting. Service is pretty OK here, they use table buttons if you ever need anything. So don't expect them to keep your waters filled without you asking. Food came out pretty quickly, but I've never seen this place packed before. The parking is not bad either, though it can get a bit busy given its location. Bottom line: come for Korean food for a great price! read more

I have been looking for a place that serves Budae jigae. So I'm glad I was recommended this place. You can get the soup as a single serving or as 3 sizes to share with the table. Finding Gamjatang is hard. This place has it. Is it the best I've ever had? No but who cares. Soju is cold, prices are good.

First time around I ranted and raved about this place.... Second time around it wasn't as good. This place is mainly known for their fried pork cutlets and gam-ja-tang. For the price, this place is pretty awesome. Great unlimited side dishes, big portions, and yummy food. For the pork cutlets, I like my sauce on the side just so that the pork cutlets remain crispy. I hate eating soggy fried food. I do wish the fried pork cutlets were slightly thicker. I understand they're trying to make the cutlets humongous but having it too thin sometimes loses the flavour of the pork. The Gam ja tang is pretty good. Gam ja tang is a pork broth based stew. It's called Gam ja because the pork bone that is used to make the broth is called Gam ja. For those who know Korean... It's not called Gam ja because the stew has potatoes in it. (Gam ja also means potatoes in Korean). Definitely get the pork cutlets and Gam ja tang if you're here. Enjoy! read more

Oh Hello, I live here. (or might as well) I don't even know where to begin... From the massive, never ending amount of banchans (small dishes) to their delicious EVERYTHING! I have officially signed my divorce papers with So Dong Kong and have officially moved in with A-Hyang. JK. WHY I AM ADDICTED: * BANCHAN MADNESS!!!! * Super clean restaurant with very kind, friendly, & fast young servers. * Anytime you order the 2 person / 3 person big stews. they will make fried rice when you are done. Fried rice is made in front of you and it is delicious!! ( unfortunately you have to ask for it. or else they won't make it ) * I usually hate SPICY COLD NOODLES. But I absolutely love it here. It is more refreshing rather than feeling like you are eating a mouth full of pepper paste. * YUK GAE JANG was really good as well. It was a little too spicy for my liking but the taste was so good, i couldn't stop. * BUDAE JIGAE was also exceptionally good. this is the one we got with the fried rice at the end. Beware it does have spam in it. I love it, but if it's not your thing, just ask them to make it without. Don't forget to turn off the portable stove after a couple minutes. you don't want your noodles to over cook! if you don't know how to turn it off properly. just ask your server to do it. it's a bit tricky. * GALBI DOLSOT BIBIMBAP, definitely the crunchiest bibimbap i've ever had! I like how they used BBQ Rib chunks rather than ground meat. If you are not a crunchy-rice person. please stay away from this. * Last but not least.... FRUITY SLUSHY. I've always gotten strawberry slushy with my visit. But according to previous reviewers, they also offer other flavors. I guess it's just random. Go experience it yourself. Let me know if i've converted you too. :) read more

This place is an awesome kinda-hidden-secret in the plentiful Koreatown of Duluth. It's the same two-story complex as White Windmill (Nukoa) off Steve Reynolds. It's very affordable for high quality, traditional Korean food with a very casual atmosphere. The decor is bright, almost springlike with the green and white accents and the red Ikea lights. The staff are all young Koreans who speak both Korean and very clear English. They have a great variety of banchan with different kim chi - we've had kim chi bok choy, traditional kim chi, the cubed kim chi radishes, and the spinach before along with tofu, bean sprouts and the other traditional banchans. I always come here for bibimbap, pajeon (pancake) and mul nyang myun (cold buckwheat noodle and radish soup). Their bibimbaps are served in the hot stone bowls and is overflowing with food. They serve a good portion of the meat and a raw egg that quickly gets cooked as you mix everything together (yum!). The cold noodles are milder and a more simple presentation with plenty of slushy beef broth (the way I love it) The noodles are very chewy and there's a lot in one serving for just $10. Many other places are at least $12-15. The pajeon comes out on a hot sizzling pan and is enough for 4-6 people to share! I only dock 1 star from the rating for service. While they're all very friendly and quick to take your order, it does take a while to get your food and check (you pay upfront!). Last couple of times, my table bell hasn't worked but I'm sure once those are all functioning again, service would be good. read more
