9.7/10 Being adventurous with cultural cuisine, I fully enjoyed Gop Chang on Fire. We ordered Combo B (4-person serving) of assorted beef intestines and stomach linings. They were marinated in a mildly spicy sauce. Pickled leeks, assorted side dishes, and salted sesame seed oil helped balance the spicy, oily beef intestines. After the main, we ordered the fried rice, which they lay out on top of the grill with wax paper. The rice came pre-mixed from the kitchen so it's ready to eat. The minimum order is for a 2-person serving. For the pairing, we order a bottle of Terra lager.

If you like organ meats or intestines this is a good spot to hit up! Good spot for a drink as well. Set B, although it says it's for 4 people, we ended up ordering an extra Daechang to fill us up. Service was great as they really took good care of us. They overheard one of our kids saying they wanted more tofu from the jji-gae and the waitress brought us a whole plate full. Ambiance is typical kbbq... little dark and Smokey but chill.

It was my first time coming here after my friends told me that this was one of their favorite gopchang spots. The prices have changed compared to the old menus that are on yelp so I was a bit surprised when we got there and saw the new menu. We ordered the Combo A which is normally for 3 people but I thought it was the perfect amount for my boyfriend and I. Along with our Combo, we ordered an extra 2 bowls of white rice and it also comes with a free soybean stew on the side. The side dishes included kimchi, green onion kimchi, and spicy beansprouts. Our server was super nice and attentive to our grill. He cooked it perfectly and placed it on the side for whenever it finished cooking. I loved the extra onions and potatoes that came with everything too.

Fried rice at the end of the meal.. basically dessert right?

This is personally my favorite gopchang restaurant in Georgia! The service is quick, side dishes are impeccable, and food is shef's kiss. I've been coming to this location year after year and the quality has always been excellent. The prices have been rising little by little, but that's expected. My most recent visit in February 2021 priced one serving of daechang and gopchang at $16.99. Depending on who I come with, I usually get 2-3 servings on average for two people. Kimchi fried rice at the end is always a must as well! You will definitely need a shower once u leave this place. The strong smell of barbecue will linger!

Highlight- brought a friend who's never tried korean bbq before, and it's not fair for me to write a full review, since this place is called "gopchang" on fire-- meaning intestines on fire (it doesnt make your intestines go on fire, don't worry), and I didn't order the gopchang, but the beef rib instead since my friend and I weren't game enough to eat intestines. I give this place a 3.5 for its beef- I will write a review update when I have tried their intestines some time. We ordered the beef rib- 17.99$ a person. You had to cook it yourself here and the beef quality definitely isn't the same quality as 9292, Breakers, 678, or even Iron Age. I am guessing this is not what they are famous for- things that are NOT Gop Chang. So if you come here, I recommend NOT ordering the meats and save that order for a place that primarily does meats like the other korean barbecues I mentioned. The meat as tougher quality and one of those where you had to watch carefully b/c it can be super tender one second and then tough as leather the next second. so that part, I don't quite like. The ban chan was a lot of scallions and chives in spicy sauce, radish to cleanse your palate, a spicy tofu soup which wasn't that spicy. Overall: Wait for me to try the Gopchang- until then, I don't recommend normal meats on this menu- clearly not their specialty.

Gopchang on Fire is a one-of-a-kind restaurant in metro Atlanta. Gopchang refers to intestines and, in this case, cow intestines which are cooked pretty much Korean BBQ style on grills at every table. I'm generally not a fan of intestines. The kinds I've had often had an unpleasant smell or taste, but not here. The intestines here are actually quite delicious, among the best I've ever had. So, I'd set aside any preconceived notions about intestines and give this place a try. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is located in the Assi shopping plaza on Old Peachtree Rd in Suwanee. If facing Assi, Gopchang will be to the left. This is a small, casual place, almost a hole in the wall, with seating for I guesstimate roughly 40-50 customers tops. There was about a 10-15 minute wait when we arrived for our 7pm Saturday night dinner. The food menu is simple (first four items are beef): Gop chang - small intestine - $12.99 Dae chang - large intestine - $12.99 Mak chang - upper lining of last stomach - $12.99 Tuek yang - upper lining of first stomach - $15.99 Beef rib meat - $19.99 Pig intestine - $12.99 Small intestine stir-fry - $12.99 Spicy small intestine soup - $29.99 (for 2 people) There are two combos. Both combos come with gop chang, dae chang, mak chang, and tuek yang. The difference between the two combos is one combo, Combo A, is designed for 3 people ($34.99) and the other, Combo B, is designed for 4 people ($44.99). They also have ramen and kimchi fried rice on the menu. Beverage-wise, they have beer, wine, and soju. Alcohol commonly accompanies gopchang meals. Two of us visited for dinner and ordered the gop chang, dae chang, and mak chang, all a la carte. We could've ordered Combo A, but were unsure of portion sizing (and probably should've asked). I still could've eaten after we finished our food, so I'm thinking Combo A probably would've worked for us even though there were just two of us. It was pretty obvious which organ was which. The gop chang was placed in the center of the grill. It was coiled up. The dae chang looked like kielbasa sausages, bigger than the gop chang of course. The mak chang looked like a flat, spongy blob. Also served was what I think were small slices of liver, but I could be wrong. On the edges of grill were slices of daikon radish, white onion, and sliced mushrooms. Banchan consisted of kimchi, spicy bean sprouts, two types of spicy scallions/green onions, and a spicy tofu soup with enoki mushrooms and chopped scallions. The intestines and stomach tasted great. I wasn't expecting everything to be so savory and flavorful. It didn't really taste too much different than various thin cuts of steak. The flavors were beefy and smoky. Expectedly, the textures were different than steak. My favorite was the dae chang. It seemed to be the fattiest as well as the tastiest. In general, the gop chang, dae chang, and mak chang all had soft and somewhat chewy consistencies. The dipping sauces (soy sauce, sesame oil with salt & pepper) are almost essential, so be sure to use them. Service was terrific. Servers cook and cut (with scissors) all of the intestines and stomach at your table. This place is a hike for intown folks like me, but I would definitely be up for a return visit.

Located in the new Assi Market plaza this place can get super pack - but soo worth the wait! Specialty in intestine (big or small) this place cater the best delicious bbq! (not the average typical "korean bbq" but lets say another type of yummy bbq!) You shouldn't cook/grill on yourself... the servers know what they're doing - let them take care it!! They don't serve pork but they do serve up the best marbling meat you've ever seen! OH~!! the green onion is perfection! pair them up with some kim chi and the bbq = HANDS DOWN!!! Happy BBQing~!

So yea gave this place a try. Came here Thursday night and finally was able to get a table. Side note: came here twice and the wait is ridiculously long. Come week days before 7pm or you will have to wait a long time. So if you didn't know this is a Korean restaurant that servers cow intestines. I'm Korean and I tried it a couple times and always though it was nasty. But when u actually taste it, it's actually pretty good with a chewy texture. We got here got a table and we ordered a 3 person set combo. (Which comes with small + large intestines and upper of first and last stomach) Yea sounds nasty lol!! I'm not sure what order it came in but 2 our of 4 was decent and the rest was awful! Sorry but I guess I'm not a fan of it. Pros: you can try something real new! Cons: service was eh, not really friendly, and floor was very slippery. Overall I don't think I'll stop by. Just not my taste buds. But it was cool to see what the fuss was about. Side note: eat with beer and it's awesome ( so I was told) If u in a mood for a try come by!

The best gop change place in the world!! Service is on point and the taste is on the different level. In my honest opinion, it's better than what I had from Korea. Hands down!

    Joanne Y.

My first time having intestines cooked like this so I have nothing to compare it to. I really liked it. It didn't have any smell or taste that you would think it would have but they cleaned it well enough that it just tastes good. We ordered a gopchang combo set so we got a variety of parts cooked at our table. In the end, they made fried rice for us as well. From what I remember, I do not remember having to pay extra for the fried rice but my friend, who went recently, said that she had to pay extra if she wanted fried rice. Our waiter was friendly as well. Very attentive and made sure that our intestines were cooking correctly. Overall, I would love to go again if I were in Georgia. I'll be trying a gopchang place in LA in a few weeks so we'll see how it goes.

The shrimp were delicious and prepared just like I'm used to. This dish is lightly battered fried shrimp with a soy sauce bases sauce with red pepper and black pepper spices. It also features other sautéed veggies like green peppers and onions. The shrimp were spiced nicely, but also had the flavor of black pepper coming through. A lot of places don't get that right. The perfect mix of that spice red pepper heat and hint of black pepper are exactly why I love about this dish. The shrimp were fried perfectly and the veggies deliciously sauted. The Haemul Jjampong was a flavor and spice bomb. The broth was so flavorful and had a great essence of the seafood in it (squid, mussels, abalone). This soup is also for people not afraid of the spice...it was SPICY, but no so much that it was unenjoyable. The spice complemented the flavor and I loved it. The take-home of the leftovers was just as good the next day! If I had to say anything that they might think of changing, would be the addition of kimchi to the banchan. The banchan was ddanmuji (pickled radish, raw white onions, marinated white onion slivers, and soy marinated peanuts). A little plate mat kimchi to wrap around the Jjampong noodles would be perfection.

Really generous with the banchan. I love the banchan there, it's 4 different kinds but all of them complement the food you eat. I was on a tear last night. Ordered the teokbokki as an appetizer. Then went with the soondubu ramen combination with beef bulgogi. First of all, the ramen is definitely a big portion, combined with the tofu it's a lot. Medium spicy is good enough unless you like sounding like you're a recovering drug addict. My goodness. I took the ramen noodles out so I could make sure I had broth left. Ate very slowly because the picked radishes were so good and the kimchi cucumbers were also killer. The teokbokki was tasty, but nothing special. Price is good, sharing is fine. But in the future I love the combo idea because you get a small skillet of beef, onions, and peppers. Sweet and savory, paired with the ramen soondubu it's a LOT. We took the rice cakes home. I can't speak any higher about the cleanliness and service here. They all pitch in, and I wonder if they knew I was going to write something because I took so many pics. Either way I believe this is the best place for tofu stew in the OTP area. Support small businesses! I'll be back!
