A friend of mine sent me a video of this place on Instagram, and the $19.99 all-you-can-eat immediately caught my attention. But I knew there had to be a catch there was no way it could really be that cheap. When we arrived, my first impression was that the restaurant was nice and clean. Unfortunately, the service was pretty disappointing. The host sat us down without saying a word and simply pointed us to our table. After about five minutes, I finally flagged down a server who was much more helpful and explained how everything worked. The $19.99 option includes a limited selection of meats that you can order unlimited amounts of. If you want anything outside of that list, you'll have to pay more depending on the tier. The brisket and thinly sliced pork belly are self-serve you grab them from the freezer using the designated plates for each type of meat. Everything else has to be ordered through your server. Another catch is that not all of the side dishes are included, and even the rice costs an extra $1.99 per bowl. As for the food, it tasted like any other Korean BBQ spot. Finally tried the new Korean Garden since they changed ownership in March. Should have come sooner, it's amazing. I had the Makguksu, which is similar to nengmyun but with soba noodles. This is the closest I've has since I had the best bowl in Korea. But that restaurant only made Makguksu and was famous for it. This was the best since then! Only 14.99, and veggie friendly. I also tried the cheese donkatsu which was awesome. The Filet mignon bbq and the Eel bbq were both excellent. My favorite part of the meal? Funny enough, the banchan. They have this kimchi called "Gutjuri" which is ripped by hand, not cut with a knife, so you get shreds of cabbage and it's usually not as fermented. I've driven by here so many times but never stopped in. Tonight my mother saw a giant banner that said "30% off dinner, including Korean BBQ" and so we decided to head over. They're in the process of upgrading some of their grill tech, so we got a table that was not set for tabletop grilling. No problem, I have been beat from working all week. We got the combination C for the three of us, which was 3 different kinds of meat, including the Cadillac of KBBQ, marinated short rib. The side dishes are plentiful, they'll refill you when you need it or ask for it. We got a soy bean soup with our meal, big enough for us to all have a small bowl. I just tried this place and I would definitely recommend it. We got the Combo E for the 4 of us and it was really filling. One of my favorite was the short rib. The sides were really good especially the kimchi. We also got Ddubboki with was okay in my opinion I probably wouldn't get it again. The prices are pretty on par I would say maybe a little higher than usual. The service was great they were really patient and even cooked our meats for us. They also were kind enough to let us take our time even though they were closing. The atmosphere is really nice the tables have tons of space. I would definitely come again. I frequently pass by this establishment when visiting my parents on my way to Johns Creek. The restaurant was previously called Anjoo, which in Korean refers to small dishes typically enjoyed with alcoholic beverages. The name suggested that the business operated primarily as a pub, although I am not particularly interested in drinking alcohol. Approximately three months ago, the signage changed to Korean Garden, which may indicate a change in ownership as well. The following weekend, my colleague and I decided to dine at this location for the first time. The staff were initially attentive, and a few side dishes were brought out. However, the flavors were rather bland. We ordered the full selection BBQ, but after only a few bites, it became clear that the meal was disappointing. The marinated meats did not seem to be properly seasoned and lacked the traditional flavors I have enjoyed for more than 60 years - in fact, the taste was completely off. My colleague was the first to comment that this was not the place for Korean BBQ. Additionally, the grill burned too hot, making it difficult to enjoy the meat at a comfortable pace. To make matters worse, our server rarely checked on our table unless we specifically asked for assistance. It was early afternoon, the place wasn't busy at all. I noticed that many Yelp reviewers have given this location an average rating of 4.5 stars. I've mentioned my experience to several acquaintances who have also visited, and they shared similar impressions to mine. Given that, I'm genuinely surprised that this establishment maintains such a consistently high rating. The only explanation I can think of is that their friends may be inflating the ratings. The banchan here is really good and I like that they give you a good variety and lots of food. Refills also available. I loved the kimchi here. It's so fresh and definitely not out of a jar. The corn cheese appetizer is also good. It's not a free banchan though, it's on the appetizer menu. Cold water and barley tea is available at the table to refill yourself. The inside seems really new and clean. There's also a very large menu so most people are sure to find something they like. I ordered the tofu soup here and it comes with rice and a fried fish. The tofu soup here isn't my favorite I've had. But it's definitely not bad. I didn't finish it, but possibly because I was pretty full from the appetizers. I would probably try a different dish if I came here again because I already have my go-to spot for tofu soup. I believe they changed ownership recently this year. This was the highlight of the restaurant I actually would come back for banchan but I docked off 1.5 stars because the two soups (main entrees) were disappointing Another plus is the service button on the table, which alerts the waitstaff when you need anything -- super convenient and responsive. Price-wise, it's right in line with other Korean spots in the area -- not overly pricey but not cheap eats either. You're paying a bit more than Duluth because this area is in the wealthiest part of Gwinnett. I had the seafood soondubu and it came out mildly hot with a rich, fermented flavor -- a strong fish sauce like the taste I had in yeh tuh down in doraville smell that might be bold for some. Personally, I'm used to the cleaner gochuhang powder flavor from spots like BCD Tofu House or Sogongdong, so this was a little different -- more rustic, more traditional. I also have a feeling my soup was reheated and not fresh. This is why I docked 2 stars. I have consumed over 100+ bowls of seafood soondubu to tell what the standard should be. My girlfriend had the kimchi soondubu and I gave her a heads-up beforehand I knew she won't slurp it up like sogongdong or jang su jang.the kimchi stews are usually made with well-fermented, even sour kimchi -- definitely more pungent than the fresher stuff served as banchan. She agreed it was intense but flavorful. The server asked did she like it all, and she said yes it's good. The food was delicious and lots of selections on the menu to choose from. I ordered the seafood spicy soup with noodles. It was so yummy but not spicy enough. Glad they brought out some spicy sauce. The dish was tasty and full of flavor. My husband ordered the Hot Pot Bimbimbap. That was flavorful but a little crusty at the bottom which we were told but my husband wanted to try it. The seaweed soup that came with it was delicious. Service was impeccable all around. Our server Arry was very attentive and kept making sure our needs were taken care of and also that we were enjoying our meal. We would definitely return to this place to try the other dishes. Parking is available right by the restaurant. We went for their lunch special. It was very busy when we arrived, but luckily we were seated right away by the bar. They have a full bar, but kinda pricey. We were offered hot barley tea upon sitting down. There is a good range of options on their lunch special ranging between $10-$15 in price. The eel one seemed very popular! Spicy beef stew: very flavored and good amount of heat. There isn't a lot of meat but it was the good quality of meat. Short rib and cabbage soup: nice flavoring, light enough to drink it all! The meat was tender. A bit hard to get off on certain areas though. The side dishes were all delicious! I loved how fresh the kimchi was. Was kind of funny that each of our soup entrees also came with a cabbage soup as a side too. Finally made my way over to Anjoo and have to say I was pleased with the quality and flavor. My son and I had an early dinner here together after he finished his academy session in the same plaza and were initially debating whether to go another nearby restaurant or Anjoo. Well, we decided on Anjoo and were happy with our decision as the food quality, friendly service, and cool and relaxing ambiance made for a wonderful meal. What we ordered. For appetizers we had tempura shrimp and takoyaki. Both were good but not spectacular. For drinks we had sweet tea and a coke which both came bottled with a cup of ice. For main entrees my son had L.A. Galbi and I had bibim naengmyun which was very good. The side dishes which came with the meal were healthy and had good variety. I especially liked the kimchi, spinach, and potato salad. Overall, parking is easy and the restaurant is a yes for me. Absolutely terrible service. I came here because my family comes and spends lots of money and they love it. As two teenagers, we received a very different experience. Very rude servers who refused to cook the food for us at first even though my family gets it cooked for them all the time. Aside from that, we absolutely felt disrespected and unwelcome in the restaurant. Some restaurants love to assume that teenagers don't tip- teenagers will absolutely tip for good service. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I love that they don't blend their potato mix down so that the pancake (Jeon) has texture. Ricecake & Mandoo Soup ($16) - They make their own dumplings (Mandoo) so loved that the dumpling skin was not too thick. The beef bone broth is amazing, so rich in flavor, but a smidge too over seasoned. Bean Paste Stew ($15) - This was good as well, but nothing really stood out other than that they give you a bit more meat. SERVICE: The menu is on a tablet or you can scan a QR code and view it on your phone. The owners, I believe, were very friendly and attentive. Overall, the taste and quality is good, but still very overpriced for just entrees. It's a bummer they don't do lunch specials for a bit discounted prices. My family wanted Seolleongtang for dinner so figured I'd order from here since it's close to the house. I also ordered some bibimbap and some naengmyun. All the dishes and banchans were solid in flavor. The only 'gripe' I have is the beef bibimbap was really light on the ground beef. So much so I thought they had forgotten it. Beyond that, solid spot. It was takeout so hard to tell about the service, but it seemed fine. Inside the restaurant seemed nice and modern. Stopped by this restaurant on a Wednesday night for K-BBQ and the food was absolutely amazing! We got the Combo D (for a party of 3) which comes with Prime Rib-Eye, Tenderloin, Marinated Short Ribs (Korean BBQ), Outside Skirt Cut and Jumulluk (which the server said was the rib cut). They grill the meat in front of you to absolute perfection and the service was friendly and accommodating! Given the location and the nondescript strip mall setting, you might not think much of Anjoo being a kind of upscale Korean BBQ place, but when you walk in, you're going to forget where you are. Anjoo, for its namesake, is about the small plate or tapas experience paired with alcohol, though walking in, you'd think it was more about the barbecue. Their appetizer menu is extensive though -- dumplings, pancakes, oyster, bassam, chicken, etc -- while their meat is pretty limited. Don't skip the meat though. It's 21-day wet aged, certified Hereford beef, but what the hell does that all mean? It means it's so good, particularly the ribeye. Drop it in a little salt. If you get the beef set, you'll get stew, Kimchi fried rice, and corn cheese as a part of it. It's a delicious ensemble. All of the dishes are really good. What wasn't good? Well, sadly, the assorted jeon was subpar. The scallion pancakes were really good while everything else tasted like it was old and warmed up. There is a distinct difference in fresh jeon and warmed over jeon. The latter is edible but dense like stale bread. That is the reason this place doesn't hit 5 stars. Moving from Atlanta to Buford was quite the transition being that in Atlanta...the food, service, and restaurants are normally sub par. Anjoo is a hidden gem! I brought my parents and fiancé and everyone was stunned at what this establishment has to offer. Tapas, Korean BBQ, drinks, good atmosphere... what more can I say. I will 100000% be coming back regularly as I'm the kind of person who finds a place they like and becomes a regular. If you're doubting trying this restaurant I can say you won't be disappointed. My friend found this place when we were looking for something to try in Suwannee! It's excellent! Our server was so sweet and easy to talk to. We felt like we made a new friend. Another great thing about this place was the versatility. I often crave Korean bbq and my friends say they aren't hungry enough so here I was able to get some brisket (it wasn't all you can eat but the perfect portion for my appetite that night) and it came with all the banchans so I got the Korean bbq experience. My friend got the bibimbap which was perfect for her appetite. The restaurant itself is beautiful too. Best Korean BBQ experience we've had and we have tried a half dozen or so KBBQ spots in ATL metro. Quality of meat was excellent. We ordered Set C which comes with beef tenderloin, ribeye, and marinated short rib. Super fresh and cooked to perfection right at the table. The set was accompanied with authentic Korean side dishes consisting of bean paste stew, kimchi fried rice, and delicious corn cheese! They carried the largest selection of Soju I have seen. We ordered the Premium Seoul Night soju and a flavored Soon Hari brand soju. Both great but recommend the clean, fresh taste of the Seoul Night soju. Service provided by restaurant management and staff was first-rate. And the restaurant is beautifully decorated, modern, and clean. Wow what a gem in a strip mall. Decor was very swanky, clean, modern and very new so it seemed. We had the bulgogi sandwich and I had the bulgogi soup. The banchans was ok, bit great and only a few. We started with the spicy wings. I'm Korean but the wings were not that spicy. Crispy and sweet. The color of it made me think it was hot but fooled me. The soup was delish with plenty of meat, noodles and veggies. Very flavorful. The sandwich looked really good as well but next to our table the couple ordered the kimchi fried rice and it looked amazing. We will be back. Best Korean BBQ food and experience I've had in Suwanee/Duluth area!!! Our server was so sweet and helpful, explaining all our dishes and how best to enjoy it. The certified beef was the most soft textured, yet naturally flavorful beef I've had in a very long time.
