I came here specifically for the snow garlic pizza, but I saw on the outside of the restaurant that they're transitioning their type of cuisine to a more fusion-type. They have more limited hours during this transition, and they took away the pizza and musubi options from their menu, likely as a result of this transition. Sad because I saw people raving about the pizza and I was looking forward to it. :( Inside wasn't busy at all, came around 5pm on a Sunday and there were two other parties there. Clean and well organized interior. You seat yourself at a table that has a dry erase menu and a marker, you write quantity of whatever menu item you want, and take up to the cashier and pay up front, no tip. Prices reasonable. Portions huge! Ordered spicy squid sizzling rice and seafood cream pasta. Yum for both! Only criticism I have is the crab on top of the pasta tasted really fishy, like not fresh. Some of the mussels and clams in the pasta had the same fishy taste. Squid and shrimp tasted fine though. Side note: I know this is a controversial take, but tipping culture has gotten out of control - restaurants really need to be paying their employees a living wage!!! So love that Hana is completely self service and doesn't even allow tips. Menu is huge and offers plenty of variety, from traditional to fusion. From tteokbokki and kimbap to pizzas and pastas, there's too much to try in one sitting... thus I've been back at least 3 times... and am due for another visit asap. I've tried a little bit of everything. Love the concept of this place. they have menu and ordering sheets on the table and you just bring it up to the front when you're ready to order. Came here with a larger group and it wasn't super busy. We got the Kimbap, Chinese seafood noodle soup, mala noodles, tangsuyuk and more (not pictured) . The seafood noodles were so good! The soup was so flavorful and rich and had an amazing Smokey flavor to it. Not too much seafood other than mussel but that's okay. The kimbap was good too, very filling and had a nice sesame flavor. The sweet and sour pork was okay, the breading was a little too thick. I would say this restaurant is just average. It is self-service, which is nice because you don't have to pay tip. My friend and I shared the Hawaiian Musebi and the tteobokki. The musebi was okay, but it fell apart very easily and it felt too rich with the cheese, avocado, and spam. The tteobokki tasted a little off - I guess it was kind of fusion style, but I would have liked it to taste more traditional. The menu is packed with a bunch of options we got the fish cake udon, which was huge and full of flavor. Went here for the first time today with the folks. It is located in the same shopping strip as the Subway and China Delight - across the street from The Home Depot on Satellite and Old Peachtree Road. Their set up is pretty unique. You walk in, seat yourself and then use a marker to write down how many orders you would like of the particular things you are ordering, take it to the front and pay. No tip required. They give you a little buzzer thing and you go to get your food at the counter when it is ready. Note: there is a little button on the side of the alerting thing they give you. I didn't know and the lady at the front kept telling me to shut it off So it the front they have little packets of salt, pepper, soy sauce (not the good kind), pepperoncino, ketchup and other condiments I didn't look at. There are also bowls, dishes, scissors, chopsticks, spoons water, etc. which are all self serve. I prefer that over constantly having to ask for an extra bowl or scissors and stuff. It's so much more convenient. If you need to go containers though, see the lady at the counter. When your done, you bus your own tables. Trays go to the front left of the store. Super casual place, so be comfy. So we ordered the spicy seafood noodle with beef brisket, the plain spicy seafood noodle and an order of the regular Kimbab. The spicy seafood noodle with beef brisket had a weird smell and when I brought it to the table I thought it was because the seafood was bad. I realized that the beef brisket had a charcoal (숯불) smell to it. That's what was throwing us off. The beef didn't look like it was cooked on any charcoal but had the smell. So I am wondering if they just lit a piece of charcoal and just used the smoke to permeate the meat? I liked the meat, my dad, did not. For him the smell was too overwhelming. My mom's plain spicy seafood noodle was ok. Nothing to complain about. The spicy seafood noodle soups, both, contained mussels, clams, shrimp, veges and udon noodles. We like udon noodles so for us it was a welcome change feom the norm. The size of the bowls are HUGE. 2 people can easily share 1 order of the spicy seafood noodle. The soup is not spicy. It looks red but is pretty mild. The saltiness was perfect for us. The banchan is a little plate of danmooji (pickled radish) The Kimbap was pretty and came out on a pretty plate. The taste was mediocre at best. The rice in the roll wasn't seasoned at all. Fillings were pretty standard. I probably wouldn't order the regular kimbap again. TBH I think I do a better job at home. The Fish cake soup that came with the kimbap was horrible and had a weird sweet taste. If you need to add some spice to add to the soup, ask them for this minced green pepper sauce. My dad asked for gochujang and when I asked the lady at the counter, she gave me this instead. She told me to use it sparingly. Pic attached. When we were taking our food home she joked with me and asked if we didn't eat all the food because it was too spicy after adding the hot pepper sauce. I assured her that it was good and not spicy. My family and I came to this restaurant for lunch and it was a good find. There's a parking lot in the front. They have limited service and it's self-serve for the most part: you seat yourself, mark what you want on their menu and order it at the counter, pour your own water/tea, and clean up after yourself at the end. Had the pleasure of dining at Hana tonight with my family and everyone enjoyed their dishes. My parents come here once in a while and recommended them for their tasty options. Normally I would say having so many items on the menu would mean jack of all trades master of none but this place proved me wrong. Tip for restaurant goers: the dishes here are huge so plan on sharing or taking home leftovers. Nearly all of us had leftovers to take home so while these items here aren't exactly cheap the quantity makes the price well worth it. What we ordered: garlic snowing pizza which consists of special sweet sauce, mozzarella cheese, grana padano cheese, pineapples, shrimp and fried garlic. This is not a personal pan pizza but a large pizza you can share with others. Seafood cream pasta which was full of quality seafood and a delicious cream sauce. Curry Tonkatsu which was delicious and a good size. Japanese Tonkatsu which was also good. L.A. Galbi which was a good size and far too big for my son so we took most of in it home. Dad ordered the spicy chewy noodles which was also delicious. Everything here is self serve but the young gentleman taking orders was very helpful and kind. Water is self serve and they have canned and bottled drinks. Overall, I see they have some opening kinks to work out but they have good food at a good price so that's what really matters. Love this restaurant! They serve fusion Korean food. You have the typical Korean offerings such as tonkatsu, bulgogi, etc. along with pizzas, pastas, salads. I have tried a couple dishes there and they were all pretty good. I like how they offer a large variety of dishes so there's something for everybody. I really enjoyed the seafood cream pasta. It reminds me of carbonara, which is one of my favorite pastas! It is self service - so you order and pick up your own food and drop off when you're done. Tip is not required. She drove it down to Midtown for us to enjoy, and let me say this, if the food was this good 30 minutes later in a to go box, it must be banging in house. The hamburg steak was absolutely delicious, and I would order it again for sure. It came with two perfectly fried eggs, a scoop of rice, macaroni salad, some lettuce greens, and pickled garlic, onion, jalapeno, and radish. The portions for both are super generous and I got full off half of the hamburg steak. The creamy seafood noodles were cooked very well too. It is mostly self service and requires you to mark down your menu choices and go up to the counter for the staff register your order. Unfortunately, the short interaction with the staff was very lacking. She was very rude when I asked her a question. We got the tteoboki, which turned out to be disappointing. The rice cake wasn't cooked long enough, so the sauce didn't absorb. I also got the Omurice Tonkastu dish. The Omurice was pretty good, but the tonkatsu was terrible. It was super hard to chew the pork lion, and there was too much breading. The Japanese Seafood Udon was actually pretty good. Tried this place and I usually don't write a review unless I really wanted to say something. This is a $16 donkatsu plate and I cannot believe the owners put out donkatsu menus with this kind of cooking skills. The breading on the katsu not sticking on the meat, separating, is the most amateur skill for donkatsu and when I make them at home even I can do that. I couldn't cut this with a knife because it was all slippery so had to use scissors to cut it up, structure the breading-meat-breading pieces back on myself to feed it to my kid. I've seen other customers photos of other donkatsus and all of them seem to have their breading separated with the meat. So amateur they need to fix this. Also the Korean katsu sauce was way too sweet and onions in it??? NOT the traditional way so I hope people don't think they're getting something authentic when they get katsu dishes here. Also had the seafood spicy noodles (jjamppong) and was damn surprised they use "udon" noodles for it (facepalm). Taste wasn't bad and the portions were good so if you're okay with having thick udon noodles instead of the traditional thinner chinese noodles for jjamppong, have this instead. Hana is the newest Korean snack (boonshik) restaurant that opened in ATL and it definitely needs some hype and attention. This restaurant is actually opened by the owners of Todam in Duluth & Suwanee and it's their great attempt in international fusion Korean snack food. This restaurant is located near the 109 Assi plaza across the Starbucks, and is located in the same plaza as Starbucks. I came on a weekday evening and the place was fairly empty, so I was assuming not many people know about it in general. It's a self-serve restaurant, meaning you order up front and you are not obligated to leave a tip. They even advertise "NO TIP" as part of their marketing strategy. Just like any Korean snack restaurant, there is plenty of menu options for everyone. There's anything from kimbap, donkatsu, spicy rice cakes, soup dishes, chicken and much more. After browsing, we decided to order the quattro donkatsu set and the malatang. The review of the following dishes follow below. Quatro Donkatsu Sampler ($26.99) - The price tag may look steep but it's actually easily enough food for 2-3 people. It's a sample of four of their katsus -- the cheese donkatsu, Korean traditional donkatsu, fish katsu and the hamburg steak. You get to try a little bit of everything so that's kind of fun. It's also served with salad, macaroni salad and the soup. To be honest -- I was pretty impressed with the donkatsu here. I'm pretty picky about my donkatsu, but all four I tried were really good. The cheese katsu was crispy and the mozzarella cheese was stretchy and delicious! The Korean style donkatsu's gravy was perfectly sweet and savory and I love how you can choose between the Japanese style and the Korean style. Fish katsu was good and even better with the tartar sauce... and the hamburg steak with that sunny side egg was OH SO GOOD! I highly recommend for anyone who wants to try a variety of katsus to try this one. Don't let the price scare you... and make sure you are sharing with people! Malatang ($15.99) - This was a little different from the malatang I've had before but it was still pretty good! You can't pick and choose your toppings and it's more of a seafood malatang (as there is a complete absence of beef...) but there was definitely a refreshing taste in the soup. They also have flat noodles which is a plus. The taste of the mala is also a lot stronger than I've usually had but it was still enjoyable and not too spicy. I can't wait to see how this restaurant does as ATL really needs some love when it comes to boonshik.. I'm glad they were able to open this place up and I hope this place can get some attention! This restaurant has a self service / no tip concept. This means they serve you your food on a tray, but you get your own utensils, bowls, plates, etc. at the front depending on what you need. Once you're done eating, you put your tray away at the waste station. The restaurant didn't seem too busy when I arrived for dinner, but service was slow and backed up. I stood at the front counter for almost 20 minutes with my order ready yet they wouldn't even take it. It's definitely important to stay patient even though the workers ignore you and won't even give you an answer when you ask approximately how long the wait will take. Rather than a purely customer service issue, they are also understaffed. If you plan on ordering pizza, the wait is 30-45 minutes. The musubi is a 25-30 minute wait. I ordered the Hawaiian Musubi, Bibimbap and Cheese Katsu. I'm disappointed by the Hawaiian Musubi because it didn't come as advertised. The menu says that there is avocado and crab meat in it, but not with my order. The musubi only had spam, egg, cream cheese, danmuji, carrot, cucumbers, thin fish cake slices, all drizzled with cheese. The taste is not bad, but it is missing the key ingredients. The Bibimbap was good. It comes with your standard samjang sauce and rice on the side. You can mix everything together with the vegetables and fried egg. The best dish of the night was the Cheese Katsu. The outside was crispy and the texture of the pork was good, not dry. The mozzarella cheese really complemented the pork and I enjoyed dipping it in the katsu sauce. Best part was that even though it was fried, it didn't feel too heavy to eat. This spot is a great casual stop for lunch. So many options, from Korean to Korean-Chinese to Korean-western fusion. I will definitely be coming back to try their other options. The beef seafood soup (N4) is super flavorful and VERY spicy, also very generous with their beef portions (although we found 1 piece of crab, which was 100% just shell?). The seafood stone pot rice (R4) is a MUST try!! Super tasty with the perfect amount of sauce and lots of squid. I had been seeing Hana on my timeline for the past few weeks I decided to come try. It's located in a small shopping center at the corner of Old Peachtree & Satellite Blvd. Not a whole lot of parking but generally you should be fine if you don't come during meal time (came on a week past prime lunch hour and there were some parking available). This is a casual, "self-serve" eatery, meaning you order your food, then grab your utensils, drinks (water), and sauces yourself. Once your food is ready, your buzzer will sound and you will go grab the food yourself. When you are done, there's a tray station where you can place your empty bowls. In this crazy tipping culture world we live in today, it's nice not to have to tip when you're not receiving full service (personally I feel tipping is only applicable for sit down dining, or to go orders that the staff have spent extra time on. If I am just ordering a dish and you hand it to me, I don't feel that warrants a tip, but story for another day). The place is clean, spacious and the staff are courteous. Unfortunately the food is where it fell short. Like other reviews before me, I too, was curious about the Quatro Donkatsu set (fish, cheese, pork katsu, then a Hamburger steak). First when I came here, I was overwhelmed with the variety of dishes that didn't have a main type of Korean dish and it's not really focused on boonshik (Korean snack food) like another reviewer posted. It was definitely fusion like their logo advertises. You get pizza, pasta, rice dishes, korean snack food dishes, and Korean/Chinese dishes. It's all over the place which shows that they really don't have a specialty dish that people can look for. This place okay. Nothing special or unique about the food but maybe can be proven wrong because I only ate 2 dishes out of the many they had. 1. Seafood cream pasta - I was happy that it wasn't salty but it was too creamy that I wanted something acidic to balance it out. The portion was smaller than I expected for the price and the seafood was regular frozen packaged seafood. - overall, it's wasn't too bad but could've been better. 2. HANNA Quattro Set - the tonkatsu was good and the best out of all the different style on the set. -the fish katsu was too salty. -the cheese tonkatsu was okay. Didn't melt in your mouth and the cheese was hard. -the hamburger steak was overcooked and dry. I came here for lunch and first noticed that the interior was pretty nice. There was plenty of seating despite there being a decent amount of people there. The floor was a bit sticky which bothered my fiancé, but it seemed clean otherwise. We ordered the Hana Triple Tonkatsu (comes with Japanese style, Korean style, and cheese tonkatsu + salad and rice) and Curry Udon Noodles. Our food was ready pretty quickly, and I personally liked the self-service system so we could get the extra bowls, utensils, and water as we pleased. The curry udon was alright, but it had a very noticeable freezer taste which I'm sensitive to. Some of the tonkatsus tasted frozen too, but we liked that they were nice and crispy. Everything was also really sweet - the sauces, salad dressing, macaroni salad (came with tonkatsu) and pickles were all on the sweet side. It's good for large groups since you don't have to pay tip and is also self-service. Hence why you can't really expect world class service, but the lady at the counter is quite something. Usually when it's really slow and no one is there she won't give you any problems or an attitude, but when you go during rush hour and when orders get backed up, she will give you at real bad attitude, and has no empathy what-so-ever and will gladly make you just want to not ever return again. Hence why with this review, I hope either the place hires more people to manage/handle the counter and relief her and customers the misery. For what it's worth, it's better to pay a little more and go someplace else with better quality food AND better service! This is by far my best choice Korean restaurant on EARTH! I am not kidding. I am 61 years old man born and raised in Seoul, Korea. I came to the States 32 years ago. I have been to many different places in the world, including China, Japan, New Zealand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, UK, France, Germany, Czech, Norway, Mexico, Canada, and Luxembourg. And all over the United States. Yesterday, I had soft tofu with fish roe for appetizer and Chinese spicy seafood noodle soup. This noodle is very famous in Korea. I went to Chinese schools in Korea, so I have many Chinese friends in Korea and even here near Atlanta, who runs Chinese restaurants. So, I know what I am talking about. This is by far the best spicy seafood noodle soup in my entire life on earth. My wife had cheese katsu, but I don't like or eat anything that's fried. According to her, she said it was THE best katsu meal in her life. I don't know who's the chef is, but I think he or she must have been born to be the best chef in the universe. No doubt about it! I guarantee you that I have no relationship with the restaurant. This restaurant deserves Michelin recommendation. If there is a world food competition, I wouldn't hesitate to give this restaurant and the chef five gold medals! Try and experience the food yourself! Even the little pickled yellow redish side dish tastes way different than other restaurants. I bet the chef put a lot of effort and energy into each and every dish he or she offers. Love the self service! Massive menu to choose from. We got tteokbokki and Hawaiian Musubi. Musubi looked a bit different than how it looked on the menu, but it was still very good!
