This is the second location of the Todam (the first in Duluth) and it's one of the few places where you can get Korean bar food and grab drinks in the Suwanee area. They opened back in late 2020 during the COVID era and it was my first time visiting since then -- and I didn't know how much this place has grown since then. When I visited on a Saturday evening, this place was absolutely POPPIN. I'm actually very glad that they're doing this well because they have great food and great service. On my most recent visit, we ordered the cheese spicy fire makchang and the cheese buldak (spicy chicken) and we ordered some makgeolli. Our food didn't take long at all for it to come out which is always a good thing. I was so surprised to see how DELICIOUS both dishes were. You can definitely taste the fiery taste in both dishes and they were both not too spicy at all. It was the perfect amount of sweet and spicy which was amazing. The cheese also added that extra savory flavor which was pretty nice! I am so glad this place picked up in business because there was honestly nowhere in Suwanee (except a very few select places) that could do it like this and it's not super crowded either... and it's super close to my parent's place so that's nice as well. I can't wait to be back!!

Three flavor crispy chicken platter, original was not my favorite
Ly L.

I hate to give any restaurant a low score but I really don't think the service deserves an average score of 3. We went here with the kids because it was close by and they stay open late. We came at 10pm and they have the music on pretty loud which is fine I guess since it's late. The space is pretty small but they were able to squeeze a lot of seating. Their menu is pretty pricey every dish is average 30$. The Ban Chan is good but lacking in variety. They have a soy vinaigrette dressing with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top that tasted different than what your used to at Korean restaurants but it actually tasted good. Their seafood pancake was very dense and thick. The three flavor crispy chicken was good but not as crispy as other specialty Korean chicken places of course. It comes with a small honey mustard sauce for the plain chicken flavor. The plain is under flavored needed a little more seasoning. It came with a small side of onion salad. Everything had lots of onions. I left there with heartburn! We chose grilled meat platter with three different meat. The bbq short ribs was the most chewy meat and most under flavored too. The other two was much more tender and flavored better. The service was horrible!! We had to ask for everything. And even with asking they never came back with everything we asked for. She brought out the food with no plates. Then we had to ask for drinks and never even got refills even after asking. If your not going to refill drinks you should leave a pitcher at the table like other restaurants. I gave it 2 stars because of the bad service. The food was good to ok, but the service was what made it worse. If I rated in service alone it would be 1 star. Kind of expected in these types of establishments.

There is parking right by the restaurant. Inside is pretty standard. There are spaces available to accommodate larger groups. Definitely more of a casual hang out spot that's good for getting drinks. There wasn't any wait and service was pretty fast. Good variety of side dishes all very well seasoned. Assorted pancakes: There was shrimp, mussels, zucchini, meat patty and jalapeño with ground pork. Everything was coated with an egg/tempura mixture. Not too oily. Personally favorite was the jalapeño one, very well seasoned with just a slight bit of spicy to it. Don't eat the zucchini first, super hot (temperature wise) when it first arrived. Pork jowl: not as tender as I've had before but good flavor. Spicy pork belly: not too spicy at all, taste just like any other pork belly. Short ribs: very well seasoned, slightly sweet but SO tender! Didn't eat the veggies that came with the meat simply because I preferred the side dishes. Spicy sausage stew: not spicy and I've had better elsewhere. Drinks were very responsibly priced! Overall I enjoyed it and would be back. Would opt to try a different stew.

Omelette

I've been looking at their instagram and I was very excited to try them and I finally did today. I hate giving three stars or below but I was honestly pretty disappointed. The server told us to sit wherever so we did but I noticed that another group of customers were seated right behind us, not enforcing 6 ft. Lunch specials start at 9.99, the pictures looked great, the interior was great, but the food, not so much. I know they just opened this month and I hate to give low ratings but their food was not that great. Or at least don't order kimchi fried rice and omelette combo meals. My husband said the kimchi fried rice was okay. The omelette had red paprika, green bell pepper, onion, mushroom, bacon, and very little bit of cheese. The veggies were very fresh and onion was spicy, I wish they would have cook the veggies slightly longer. Perhaps its just those two, try something else? The side dishes look great but the fried chicken and pork were actually cold rather than hot... I'm sure they make a big batch and scoop 3~4 pieces each for each meal. Sushi had this weird bitter white sauce on top that we had to scrape off with lots of wasabi. If you are not a big fan of wasabi, make sure you check before you eat and scrape the white sauce off. The toast is basically french toast, very sweet, save it for dessert. My husband loves fries so he counted and finished the nine fries LOL Caprese salad was good! So was the macaroni salad, but that wasn't the reason I went... I wanted to ask the server about the white sauce and how some of the food were a bit cold, but he didnt stop at our table even once to ask how we were doing until we asked for our check. They did have a lot of people picking up their take out orders, so I'm sure they're pretty good, I guess just not the meals that we ordered. I think I'll give this place another chance for dinner some other day and I'll update my review then.

Must Try - Nagasaki Champong! - Amazing!
Sam H.

Finally, a solid Korean tavern in Suwanee - Todam is not your typical Korean restaurant, the food is a bit saltier to pair nicely with an ice cold beer or soju or both in a SoMec (soju bomb). We had the Nagasaki Champong - which is a beef based soup with seafood and noodles. Don't let the white broth fool you, it's well balanced, flavorful and spicy. Just writing this has me drooling and craving for more. It does wonders to drink the broth right after a soju shot and brings out the sweetness of the soju. We also ordered the Spicy Grilled Pig Intestines - ok before you say ew and pass on this. It's really well made, there is no gaminess and if I didn't tell you it's pig intestines the texture is similar to crispy pork belly. The outside was crispy and the inside was soft and juicy. The spicy gochujang sauce brought out the umami and hidden fried rice cakes were little texture explosion in my mouth. Definitely will order this again. The sautéed chicken gizzards were nothing special. Won't be ordering those again. The fried ones are much better. The decor is open and modern but the brightness is a bit too much to drink comfortably in the main area. If you're lucky and get a room, it's much better. The service was mediocre, even for a Korean bell system when you press the bell you expect a waiter to come by. Overall, I'd go back again for the Nagasaki Champong and closer to Uber location.

Cream pasta lunch set

Absolutely love this lunch menu! Beautiful presentation, very tasty and good portion. They are not open for lunch on the weekends (sad that I can't take my kids ), so check out their hours before heading. They have small rooms available for privacy

Food 4.5 I had Grilled Beef Ribs+Spicy Pork Belly+Marinated Pork. The flavors were very good and I loved the salad dressing. Simple side dishes were also good. Beef ribs didn't have much flavor but the spicy pork belly was the best. Service 0 There is no service. They are busy with take outs. Only 2 people working- one answering the calls, one serving. Took 15 minutes to order my food after trying the call bell 2 times and raising hands. Well... they may have a service. They bring the food out to your table and refill water when you pay your check. If you call that a service. Ambience 2 It is definitely not a family dinner place. Ok for drinking with friends. It is very cold in there. Temp feels like 60 or lower. The menu on the table is only in Korean.

Sweet and Sour Pork / Pig Trotters / Steamed Pork

Quality of the food was very good. Portions are large enough to share with the whole table. The restaurant was clean with a great vibe for late-night chitchat. I personally didn't get the AYCE (all you can eat) meats, but some people in our party did and mentioned that it was well worth the price of $30. The employee was nice and polite, considering the busyness of the restaurant. The only downside to my experience is that there was only one worker who was very busy the entire night. Would definitely come again and try the AYCE for sure!

Disappointed. Went for lunch. Told to order fast multiple times. But then he never came to take our order. Had to walk up to him to order twice cause we weren't getting our food. And it's like a lunch box where they work on your main selection but rest of the sides are are pre-made so they just spread out across all the orders, you know? After 30mins... wrong food came out. BTW, There were no servers just one man. So when finally he corrected our order my food had HAIR in it!! So up to this I was trying to be understanding...New place....busy lunch time...no servers... couldn't have been easy. But I call the guy and he stays literally 10 ft away and asks what. I didn't want to scream there's food in my hair for his business sakes so I wait for him to come up to our table...and when he finally saw what I was pointing at he didn't even apologize. The remade food came out so quick, it made me feel uneasy...and I just couldn't eat it. Then he never came back to our table to even give us a check and he charged for the hair food. Mediocre food...horrible decor, unfinished paint...layers of dust on our booth seats. Maybe if I hear improvement I might try again but highly unlikely.

The food is incredible! If you want spicy, you get spicy. The customer service is awesome too. The place is clean and the ambience is very new.

Spicy chicken

This place is horrendous . Ordered spicy chicken and it was all cartilage and sweet as hell. Would never come back.

Excellent place to get fusion cuisine. My friend informed me of this place and took me here. It was clean and the atmosphere was great. I ordered spaghetti out of their lunch platters. It seems to take about 25 minutes to come out. When I ordered food, they seemed to cook it and put it in a Platter. The vegetables were fresh and the food was all warm. The first time I saw the platter, I was ecstatic. This was only $9.99. It was amazing that I could eat such a fantastic platter for that amount. My friend had the spicy pork dish and it was amazing. It was sizzling with vegetables on a heated plate. My friend gave me a piece of spicy pork. It was seasoned in red, but not very spicy, and the taste and smell stimulated my senses. It tasted and smelled grilled. They serve several side dishes as a part of the platter and it was fun trying the Korean version of an American dish, or vice versa. I have been back three tims since. They have served me food of great quantity and quality all three times. The place was clean and the quality of the food was very good. At first it was difficult to choose the menu so I just ordered spaghetti. After my first visit, I called them and got a picture of the lunch menu. I wanted to try other things next time. What I've eaten so far is spaghetti, spicy pork, and bulgogi. I don't have a menu that regrets ordering. Their food was amazing. I think their service is a lot more to enjoy their platter at $9.99. If you can eat 10 kinds of menus for less than $10, I think they are doing their best to provide the best service. Highly recommended! I will be here with my wife sooner or later.

This dish is lightly battered fried shrimp with a soy sauce bases sauce with red pepper and black pepper spices. It also features other sautéed veggies like green peppers and onions. The shrimp were spiced nicely, but also had the flavor of black pepper coming through. A lot of places don't get that right. The perfect mix of that spice red pepper heat and hint of black pepper are exactly why I love about this dish. The shrimp were fried perfectly and the veggies deliciously sauted. The Haemul Jjampong was a flavor and spice bomb. The broth was so flavorful and had a great essence of the seafood in it (squid, mussels, abalone). This soup is also for people not afraid of the spice...it was SPICY, but no so much that it was unenjoyable. The spice complemented the flavor and I loved it. The take-home of the leftovers was just as good the next day! If I had to say anything that they might think of changing, would be the addition of kimchi to the banchan. The banchan was ddanmuji (pickled radish, raw white onions, marinated white onion slivers, and soy marinated peanuts). A little plate mat kimchi to wrap around the Jjampong noodles would be perfection.

Really generous with the banchan. I love the banchan there, it's 4 different kinds but all of them complement the food you eat. I was on a tear last night. Ordered the teokbokki as an appetizer. Then went with the soondubu ramen combination with beef bulgogi. First of all, the ramen is definitely a big portion, combined with the tofu it's a lot. Medium spicy is good enough unless you like sounding like you're a recovering drug addict. My goodness. I took the ramen noodles out so I could make sure I had broth left. Ate very slowly because the picked radishes were so good and the kimchi cucumbers were also killer. The teokbokki was tasty, but nothing special. Price is good, sharing is fine. But in the future I love the combo idea because you get a small skillet of beef, onions, and peppers. Sweet and savory, paired with the ramen soondubu it's a LOT. We took the rice cakes home. I can't speak any higher about the cleanliness and service here. They all pitch in, and I wonder if they knew I was going to write something because I took so many pics. Either way I believe this is the best place for tofu stew in the OTP area. Support small businesses! I'll be back!
