I like they give a little bit of the cold noodle broth on the side Their donkatsu is still one of the big ones sold Okay pricing Service was not bad and depends on how busy it is Normal busy every time I went
Despite my bad 1st experience here, I decided to return...to see if their much-touted Donkatsu lives up to the hype. I arrived super-early for lunch (11 am?), so was able to slide right in. As anticipated, I ordered their king-sized pork cutlets (AKA "Wang Donkatsu)...and WOAH, this was indeed a king-sized platter. HUGE!! Also, it came with a uniquely zesty house sauce/glaze.The verdict? Yep...it truly lived up to the hype! Not only incredibly generous in size (and value priced, considering the size, plus all the sides!), it was truly amazing! Possibly one of the best Katsu dishes I've ever had?? This is a very quaint, mom 'n pops Korean restaurant...very popular with the locals. Their menu is awesome...and the foods are 100% legit. However, if I recall correctly, I felt "K-snobbed" on my 1st visit lol, so this time I tried my best to speak Korean (though my Korean is laughably bad!)...and I didn't even have to ask for a fork this time. They placed both fork and knife on the table!!! WOW. For that, I tipped them 25%. More and more, I noticed how most Asian restaurants are trying to skimp on placing forks on the table...even when we need it! Pet peeve, I guess? Really, the service was MUCH better this time around. I remember being really impressed with the foods here, despite the bad service on my first visit years ago...so I've been wanting to give them another try, and am SO glad I did!! Anyway, I was able to eat nearly half of the gigantic dish (btw, my dish looked MUCH more impressive in person than in pictures)...and doggy-bagged the rest for my husband (he loved it!). Totally worth ordering the king-sized plate!
I had heard a lot of good things about the naengmyun here, which was delicious, but the star for me was honestly the katsu! Other than it being absurdly large, it was so so yummy. It was so crispy despite being practically drenched in sauce, and the meat inside was not dry at all. I do wish the macaroni salad had more acidity because the dish was overall very heavy. The bulgogi was ok in my opinion. It felt like the meat on top didn't have much seasoning/flavor. And you don't really get much of it until you reach the bottom layer of meat where the sauce has pooled. And the sotteok was addictive!
I love this place so much, I wish I could eat here everyday. I get the same two things each time -- the king size tonkatsu (HUGE and can feed 2-3 people and comes with delicious mac salad) and the bibim naengmyeon which is totally tolerable if you have a low spice tolerance. Get these two things, you will not regret it!
This is my third time visiting, and it is so consistently amazing and has become my top Korean restaurant personally. Parking is super easy as the plaza has a big parking lot. Once you enter the restaurant, the interior is cute and quaint, and the servers seat you really fast! I have never had to wait for anyone to seat me. I ordered the pork tofu soup, and my boyfriend got the jaeyuk bokum. Once we ordered, they delivered the ban chan out very quickly. Their kimchi is one of my favorites that I wish I can buy a container of it for myself. I love their fish cakes, and my boyfriend cannot get enough of their jelly. I also love their seaweed since it has such a nice sour flavor to it. You can ask for a refill on any of the banchan, and they will happily bring it out! With the jaeyuk bokum, a cup of bone broth also comes out with the banchan, and it is sooooo good. You can tell that they cook it for a long time. The jaeyuk bokum is a huge serving too. It comes with spicy pork and a lot of vegetables, and we can never finish it. For the pork tofu soup, do expect it to take a bit longer than the other dishes, but the wait is so worth it. It comes out piping hot, and the tofu soup comes with a raw egg that you can put into it. The soup had the right amount of pork in it, and the soup itself was just so comforting and one of the best tofu soups I had in the Atlanta area. I will definitely be coming back!
Large portions of food in a relaxed environment. All you need. Things you should know: I. PARKING A-Hyang is within the Nukoa Plaza and shares a public, free lot with the other adjacent businesses. You'll always be able to find an available space. II. SERVICE Friendly and accommodating. Banchan is complimentary (of course) and they'll kindly restock you on more dishes if you ask. III. QUALITY Delicious and flavorful ~ we ordered Kimchi Sundubu. Not to mention that they serve a large quantity with your order as well..! That's always a huge plus. IV. CAPACITY Fairly busy for a Friday evening
it was inside of a small Korean mall, with plenty of parking space. The service was courteous and prompt, the decor was simple with a sense of design. We ordered 2 dishes. Jaeyuk Bokum for 3 is a large portioned sliced pork in a iron pan, the pork was stir fried with large potion of onions, the pork was delicious, but no other vegetables except onions was bit disappointed. Haemul Sundubu is a tofu seafood stew with 2 shrimps 2 clam 2 oysters, and one uncooked egg. the soup was tasty, one needs to break the egg and put it into the soup him/herself. It is not very spicy, the tofu was very soft.
-staff was friendly -side dishes mid -donkatsu was too crunchy -army stew was a little bland and not spicy enough -bibimbap was watery
I ordered the pork cutlets upon hearing that it was their most popular item. The portion size is very large, and it tastes just like how it would be made in Korea. They also serve banchan which consists of kimchi, bean sprouts, and other pickled veggies. My friend ordered the budae jjigae, and he loved it. It was spicy and hearty with a lot of meat and other ingredients.
Smaller than most restaurants, it is tucked inside a shopping plaza, but don't let this Korean cuisine gem slip by! I love coming here for delicious authentic Korean food at a very affordable price. Price point: $ With many of the food items costing around $15 - $20, and with how generous the serving sizes are, this place is amazing for affordable korean dishes that can be shared. Cleanliness: 5 I've never had an issue with the cleanliness, tables have always been wiped cleaned and booths are never sticky/grimy. Bathrooms are well lit and clean as well Food: 5 The food here is always on point. My favorite is the pork dongkatsu, fried to a perfect level of crispy. The portion size is so large that I can split it with a friend and we both are still full by the end of it. The sides are always amazing too, fish cakes, bean sprouts, glutinous rice cake, and Kimchi, all of which are free refills. I am never disappointed and I always come back for more. Staff: 5 In all my experiences here, the staff are always so kind and friendly, greeting and serving us with a smile on their face. All in all, I thoroughly enjoy every visit to A-Hyang and I will always come back here whenever I'm craving Korean food!
This place oozes authenticity, and that's all that needs to be said. OK, I'll say a few more things. The place was filled with the aroma of delicious Korean goodies and bustling with seemingly Korean diners on a recent Saturday evening. The server lady was eager too take our orders, which came out without delay. The bibim was one of the best I've ever had, and I was so pleaded that it had none of the common filler toppings like lettuce, broccoli, or cabbage. Although not as numerous as many other restaurants, their side dishes were 100% authentic and I gobbled them up in no time (I especially liked the fish cakes). The spicy pork was on the sweet vs spicy side, which is what we prefer. All in all a knockout feast - cannot wait to go back!
Korean homey joint in the nukoa plaza right next to danmooji. Even though JangsuJang has the reputation for having excellent soondoubu in Atlanta, I would say that this place would rival in terms of its other broths such as the pork bone broth or the yukgaejang. Apparently they are known for their donkatsu whichI will have to try since upon walking out the door, I saw massive portions on a giant plate shared by a couple. Banchan was typical. An acorn jelly, kimchi, beansprouts, fish cakes. We ordered the yukgaejang which I've been seeing in homey Korean Netflix shows. it's essentially a smooth spicy beef stew with lots of mixed veggies. Imagine a soondoubu but a little smoother without the tofu. It pairs nicely with a tofu. this is definitely a dish to try if you're trying to branch out from other Korean dishes. The pork bone broth is also a good choice for those trying to try other soups as well. there are 3 large bones with ample meat to pick at. The stew is also very smooth and delicious paired with rice. Buddae jiggae was also quite good but I think it was about the same as other ones I've had across the nation. Service was pretty fast and check out is at the front so don't twiddle your thumbs waiting for the check.
Pretty solid Korean food! We ordered the kimchi soup with tuna and the spicy kimchi pork. Both were quite tasty and not too spicy (I eat Korean pretty often and have a high spice tolerance though). The kimchi soup came with a fried egg on the side which was a nice surprise. I also tried some of my brothers tteok mandu guk (sliced rice cake and dumpling soup) which was also good. The broths in both soup dishes were flavored well. My only complaint is that service wasn't the best. Also, I wish they had a larger variety of side dishes and there was hardly any tuna in the soup (and the tiny bit that was in the soup was from a can). Ambiance is fine- not the most spectacularly decorated restaurant but the food is good enough that I would come back. I will definitely be returning to try the fried pork cutlet!

I really enjoyed this place! It was the first time I went: I had the tofu soup with beef and leek. I enjoyed all the banchan (side dishes) and thought it was just the right amount of food! The server button is really helpful rather than trying to get servers' attention. I thought this was a great place to get authentic Korean food. It wasn't fully packed but there were a good amount of guests. My party found that the service was pretty quick, not slow like some other reviews say. It also speaks a lot to me that all the customers were Korean (rather than not). Tip: You pay up in the front. read more
The vibe of the place is authentic Korean. I felt like I was walking into a spot in Korea. The servers, the yelling across the store, the chaos - a true representation of what Korean restaurants feel like, which I find it a plus. That said, it's a chill place. It ain't a romantic first date kind of a spot. I ordered pork bone soup aka gam-ja-tang. It took longer than I expected for the food to come out. It was okay. Good portion of pork but the flavor was nothing special. I think they added too much soybean paste for my liking - but to each their own. The service was non-existent. They were hastily taking our order and never checked up on us. We flagged them down a couple of times for our check. Considering all these, I'd say 4.5 Gryffindor points out of 10. read more

A-hyang has always been my go-to spot whenever I have a craving for donkatsu. The portion is huge that you can probably take half of it to eat at a later time. In addition to the huge donkatsu itself, it also came with coleslaw, macaroni, canned peach, rice, and some sort of garlic-y soup. The taste of the food is always good, but many might not be content with the service. There might be a little bit of a language barrier for non-Korean speakers and they aren't really attentive unless you press the bell on the table. They also provide some banchan (side dish) which is always a plus. Overall, would always go back for donkatsu, but probably not for anything else. read more
It's a casual Korean eatery with all the staples such as soft tofu stew, cold noodles, and dongkatsu. The Alfredo portion of the dongkatsu just tasted like cream and it didn't really have the garlic flavor or any other flavors that the sauce usually has. I preferred the spicy portion it had a good flavor and a nice kick. It wasn't very spicy but just enough to enhance the flavor. I like the crispiness of the breading and the portion size was good for the price. The fried bread on the side was a nice touch but I wished it had more flavor it was kind of plain. I like the corn slaw on the side it was slightly sweet and paired well with the meal, I just wished it came with the cabbage slaw that the other dongkatsu dishes had. It would have been nice to cut the oiliness of the meal as a whole. This isn't pictured but it also came with a nice bow of broth. I would definitely come back for a quick and comforting meal. read more

So far I've eaten from A-hyang twice. This place hits the spot for some hearty Korean food. Wang (king) donkatsu is massive and the sauce is bomb, we got the one with cheese. Nakji Dolsot and galbi Dolsot bibimbap was inconsistent in flavor. First time we had them, they were both really good and then the second time was mediocre. Mul naengmyun was good (make sure you put vinegar and mustard for flavor) and the bibim naeng myun was good but I had to add vinegar cause the sauce didn't have much flavor. If you come to A-hyang, come here for good food, not for good service. read more
This place is super accommodating and clean when you come in! I would definitely come again for the soup, and I highly recommend the donkatsu! The portion for the donkatsu was massive, and it was very tasty. The seafood soondubu (tofu stew) was spicy and flavorful. The sides were different from other Korean restaurants I've been to, but they were amazing as well. The service was okay, but the ladies working there were super nice. read more

Suuuuuuper delicious Korean classics in a quaint lil place Our table of four ordered a budae jigae, cheese donkatsu, and seafood pancake. Budae jigae was filled mainly with sausage and spam but there was also tofu, sweet potato noodles, rice cake, and other yummy things. I do wish it were ramen and not sweet potato noodles but it was still good. The cheese donkatsu was extremely filling and the cheese pull on that pork was ridiculous. The side salads (cabbage, macaroni) were a good compliment to the heaviness of the pork although it was pretty creamy with thickkkkk thousand island dressing. It's a great value for 14$ and would probably provide me three meals if I were eating alone. Seafood pancake was big but unmemorable; don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. It just paled in comparison to the stellar jigae and donkatsu. Each table has a call button (or maybe our table did because we were in the side room..?? Idk) and it's the most effective and efficient thing I've ever seen in a restaurant. No one bothers you unnecessarily but when you do need help, someone attends to you not more than a few seconds after pressing the button. Overall, highly recommend if you're craving Korean food in a homey environment in Duluth! read more
Love this place! Tucked on the first level of the shopping complex, the restaurant is very cozy and welcoming when you first enter. Almost everything on the menu is under $15 and delicious so you can't go wrong with whatever you get! My favorite is the donkatsu which is huge (bigger than my face) and comes with soup, rice, salad, and macaroni salad. Also they come with delicious banchan/ side dishes. I also love their cold noodles since it's so hard to find at other restaurants and their cold noodles come in a huge portion. With sondobu, bibimbap, soups and hot pot on their menu it offers something for everyone and I'll definitely come back again. read more

Came for lunch with friends on a weekday. In a big plaza, plenty of parking. Place was pretty empty so got a table with no issue. Staff greeted us and were very nice. I heard this place was known for their Donkatsu. I ordered the Yukaejang, friends ordered dontaktsu and the Galbi-tang. Disclaimer: not very experienced with Korean food outside of KBBQ and Soft tofu soup Yuekaejang - Okayyy. The broth tasted more like the same broth how soft tofu soup tastes. My friends said that it doesn't taste normally how this dish is supposed to taste. Donkatsu - Good ! Gigantic piece of pork! Really cool to look at. I hear it is "korean style" which means the meat is a bit thinner as compared to Japanese style. Overall good! Definitely can see why they are known for this. Galbitang - Good ! Flavorful, get 2 huge beef ribs with meat on it that were really delicious ! read more

I'm always on the lookout for a good place to eat cold noodles and A-Hyang is definitely on the top of my list. Hubs and I stopped by for dinner and we were seated quickly. Seating in A-Hyang is very limited and the max number of people to bring is probably a group of 4 for comfortable seating. I came solely for the cold noodles so I ordered the cold noodle combo with dumplings and hubs ordered the spicy pork bibimbap. I enjoyed the variety of side dishes that were brought out to us and my cold noodles were on point! The broth was flavorful and the texture of the noodles were perfect. The waitress asked me if I wanted my noodles cut and I said yes but she only cut the noodles twice, which still left them long, so if you want your noodles cut a certain way or a certain length, you may want to ask if you can cut it yourself. I was given bottles of vinegar and spicy mustard and you definitely only need to add a little bit of each because the broth doesn't need much fixing. Hubs' bibimbap came out in a stone bowl and he was also given a bottle of spicy sauce. The flavor of the bibimbap was good and it's definitely something that I want to try the next time I come to A-Hyang. The pork was spicy, though, and I'm not sure if it was the pork or the spicy sauce from the bottle or a combination of both but if you're not a fan of spice, you may not want to get the spicy pork. TLDR, the food at A-Hyang is good so definitely stop by and eat but don't bring too many people. read more

.... Not my favorite. Soup was filled with tiny soup portions are small for price. Everyone was getting a soup and some kind of free dessert, not us. I had to ask for rice for my soup and was told I only get one.... And WHAT THE HECK IS IN MY WATER??? read more
This is my favorite place to get tonkatsu in Georgia. The tonkatsu is huge and the price is very much affordable. With your order you get the usual banchan and a bowl of soup. Their tonkatsu can honestly be shared with two people. I will always come back here for their tonkatsu. read more
Went here with the bf when his friends were in town for the holidays. And there were lunch specials to choose from if you're not that hungry. I had the tofu soup with pork and kim chi. It was the typical spicy pork with kim chi as the addition. Too typical in the bf's opinion. The bf on the other hand had the tofu soup with beef and leeks. He liked his version better because of the leeks. His friends shared the hot pot, and it looked like a lot of food. The items were a tad different than the usual meats and veggies, but I guess it's what that group choose. I also saw a request of ramen noodles to finish out the soup. Everyone seemed full and happy with their choice. Parking was plentiful since this complex is spacious. Oh. You pay at the front register btw. read more

Donkatsu was pretty big. It was as big as the plate that they served my donkatsu on, at the last place that I had donkatsu. If the donkatsu was just a little bit smaller, it would make a great sheet set for a queen sized bed. I heard Korean Air uses these donkatsus as the emergency slides on their 747s. My donkatsu was so big, someone in Seoul was eating the other half, lady and the tramp style. They get here next week. Also, nice flavors and friendly staff. read more

Nice and cozy korean restaurant! I like this place. I could tell it was authentic and favored by locals the second I stepped in the door and became the only one who needed to speak English in the place. However, foreigners do not despair! Servers are super friendly and helpful, as well as the menu has English translations. Service is also very fast and if you ring the bell at your table the waiter will literally drop everything he has to attain to your needs. Banchan: not my favorite array, but definitely some good options and new ones I wasn't familiar with. I especially liked the spicy seaweed and the danmuji. Beef and dumpling stew: definitely recommend! The portion is HUGE. Probably twice the size of the sundubu. Most likely because it comes with humongous dumplings and generous pieces of beef, cellophane noodles, enoki mushrooms, onions, etc. Let me tell you, the dumplings make this dish. Some of the juiciest I've had. I had to eat them in four bites because of how large they were. Beef is also thinly sliced and tender. Love the flavor of the soup, I got it spicy and it was hot but not so much that I couldn't tolerate it. Bottom line: This place is no fuss, fast, decently priced, and delicious. Would recommend! read more

It's a cute friendly restaurant. The servers are very humble and caring. The Gamjatang medium is great with the kimchi pancake. The pork is so tender. It melts in your tongue. The broth is flavorful. The ban Chan are fresh. You can take it in the kimchi and the other sides. Which is a plus for me.. read more

If service is something that's a huge factor to your meal experience. I would say that's where A-Hyang fell flat with my experience. After we were seated, and the side dishes and main meal was served. No one ever talked to us or interacted with us at all. But if just the food is your priority. It's pretty great. This places (budaejjigae- military stew) and (donkatsu- fried pork cutlet) are delicious and definitely amazing for the price. You get a good deal of value for what you're paying for here. Definitely even better if you can catch them for the lunch special prices. Loses a star for the service. But food is superb for what you're paying. Really decent Korean dishes and a fairly nice selection of side dishes (). read more

Our server said this place is known for their Boodeh Jigae, Gam Ja Tang, Mul Naeng Myun, and Bibim Naeng Myun -- I've tried and/or sampled their four "favorites", and they are all good :) Service is good too -- when I came by myself, I got 7 banchan + salad. When I came w/ my parents, we got 9 banchan + salad. They also offer fruit slushies afterwards -- I had peach the first time, and strawberry the second time. Servers are very nice, too. Prices are also very reasonable. FYI - this is the former location of Harm Heung Cold Noodle restaurant. "BUDAE JJI GE" - $8.99 (but $7.99 Mon-Fri lunch) While the menu described the dish as "potluck stew with sausages, ramen noodles, assorted hams, etc" -- mine had spam, hot dog, pulled chicken, ground beef, tofu, rice cakes, vegetables, and cellophane noodles ... and it's quite spicy. If you're not Korean you might not be familiar with the history behind this dish but after the Korean War, there wasn't much food -- the US Army helped donate some food, and that's how the Koreans learned to incorporate ingredients like spam and hot dogs into their jigae. It really is a true potluck stew. As far as portion goes, I'd definitely recommend sharing this dish -- I ordered it for myself and had enough leftovers for a 2nd meal. "GAM JA TANG" - $8.99 (but $7.99 Mon-Fri lunch) This is pork rib soup w/ potatoes, chives, sesame leaves, and enoki mushrooms. There is a lot of pork, and it is fall-off-the-bones pork :) Broth was good when it was hot but tasted a little bland when the soup cooled down -- keep in mind, I didn't add any of the hot chili paste offered w/ the dish. I still enjoyed the dish and trying something new. Again portion is huge so I'd recommend sharing this dish. "MUL-NAENGMYEON" - $7.99 (but $6.99 Mon-Fri lunch) Mom really enjoyed her cold noodle soup. I had a taste and thought it was very good, too. "BIBIM NAENGMYEON" - $7.99 (but $6.99 Mon-Fri lunch) Dad enjoyed his spicy cold noodle dish (and he's a picky eater) -- I had a few bites and agreed it was very good. FYI - lunch specials are available Mon-Fri 11-2:30pm for $6.99, $7.99, and $9.99. Along with Yet Tuh, I think this is one of my new favorite Korean restaurants and I look forward to trying their other dishes ... and wondering what flavor slushie I'll get next time :) read more
Just recently tried this place out a few evenings ago. Interior: Very vivacious with the decorations. Lots of cute/artsy IKEA stuff. I believe they're going for a "nature" soothing theme. Food: I ordered under the special menu, spicy stir-fried octopus ($13), which came with either steamed rice/brown rice and the multiple sides (kim chi, potato, sliced hot dogs, pickled beansprouts, etc -- the sides vary everyday). Oh! The sides are unlimited too! The main entree I ordered was okay for the price. Portion isn't much (stir-fried with lots of sliced jalapenos, onions, & carrots), but then again you do get full with all the sides. It also came with a fish broth soup, which was perfect the night I went for it was super chilly out. Overall a very clean restaurant with good Korean good. They also bring a small cup of slushie as a refreshment dessert at the end. I had a strawberry one. You don't get to pick since it's complimentary, but the flavors do changes per day. *check pictures i posted* read more
