I have been to that same store before and never had a problem. After I asked him not to he rudely stated to me I can go elsewhere. I am a frequent customer there and I felt as a loyal customer you should never say that to a loyal customer. Not to mention as I went to pay for my item, I placed the money on the counter and proceeded to walk out and he told me I had to count it out as I was leaving... mind you, I already paid it's your job to count it. He pics up the fucking phone and calls the police on me!!!! He called the police took down our tag as we were leaving!!! One thing I've always liked about this place is that the employees are always at least polite, and often even friendly. Working at a 24-hour fuel station and convenience store isn't my idea of a desirable job, even on day shift, but employees here seem reasonably content. One thing I don't like so much is that there's a surcharge for credit or debit fuel purchases. I don't remember whether it's a few extra cents per gallon or a flat fee - it has been both over the years - but the cash price is always lower. But you have to remember to bring cash! And to get the cash price, you have to go inside the shop (and occasionally wait in line) to hand over cash to the pleasant employees, and then go back inside for change (if any). That seems like it makes extra work for the employees, but maybe the idea is that some customers who go inside spend money on impulse purchases. Another problem is that traffic can be a headache, particularly if you're trying to go north on 148th Avenue. But any fuel station on a busy corner is likely to face traffic issues, so it's just something that goes with being located somewhere convenient. Similarly, the place can be really busy - but that's something that goes with the low prices. Back to good points, the place always looks pretty clean, inside and out. And if I forget my cash, the card readers on the fuel pumps have always been in good working order. Finally: this three star review isn't a complaint. The Yelp description for three stars is "A-OK", and this place is A-OK. It takes a lot for a fuel station to do much better than that, and I'd rate this place toward the upper end of "A-OK" if Yelp had fractional stars.

When I asked if there was a charge, they said yes--but that should be communicated before bagging someone's items. I came here a few times already but They really try to think you're dumb at times. I just try to play it cool like OK you're right I'm wrong. Not a huge charge, but it's about communication and respect. Just a heads up to future customers: be vigilant and ask before accepting a plastic or paper bag, because they won't tell you upfront.

There are also instructions on screen to try and guide you. You open up the app and find the QR reader and make sure you have your payment set, scan and go in. From what I understand there are cameras and sensors that track your purchases so when you walk out it just bills your account and emails you a receipt. Very interesting concept. So, my impressions of it all outside of the cashless check out is that it's basically a 7 Eleven or similar convenience store. Some hot food and cold sandwich options, lots of drinks to choose from including soft drinks, coffee and plenty of snacks. The prices are a little higher than at a convenience store, especially since at say 7 Eleven they may have 2 for $4 on a bottle of coke or some similar promotion. Here at Amazon Go they sort of have a promotion but they're more akin to Subway where you have to buy a sandwich or something. I had a mini personal pizza from here and at $5 it wasn't bad. I'd go again simply for that but beyond that Amazon Go is just a cashless convenience store, convenient so that you don't have to really deal with lines.
