Let me start off by saying that their margs are top-notch! They have a deal on Tuesdays: $7 specialty margs. I tried the strawberry jalapeño and the house marg, both with a salt/sugar mix on the rim. The spice of the jalapeño really accented the tequila and was my favorite. The house was a good, standard marg (the type of drink that is good to pair with most food), with a fresh hint of lemon/lime. As it was a Tuesday, I felt it my duty to order tacos. The Tuesday deal is $3 tacos (with a protein of your choice - shrimp, chicken, pork, etc.) The corn tortillas are house-made, and the shrimp was plump and flavorful. My only regret was ordering two tacos instead of three of four, as there were only two shrimp in each taco and minimal toppings (some sprouts, lime, etc.). While I think that the simplicity of the dish made it delicious, it wasn't as filling as I had hoped. We got tortilla chips with pico for the table. The pico was fresh and yummy. The blue corn tortilla chips were good, but some of them were a little mushy and oily. Overall, I was happy with my experience here. The vibe is clean and cute, and you can tell that all of their food/drinks are fresh and homemade. I will DEFINITELY be back here for another marg! read more

I haven't done a Yelp review in a long time. However, this place was so awful that it made me come out of retirement. My friends and I were visiting Bethany and wanted to order in. This place is new and beautiful on the inside so we thought it was a good choice. I should have read the reviews prior to. Overpriced is an understatement. My friend got shrimp tacos that were $17 dollars...3 tacos...two shrimp in each that you could barely see with some kind of garnish and shells that totally fell apart. She ended up throwing them away. The carne asada burrito that I got was bland, small, and the meat was likely the lowest grade one could imagine and it was $19. We would've been 100% better off at a chipotle (who I love and am not taking a shot at) but being on vacation wanted to give to a local business. I'm not one to typically say this but STEER VERY CLEAR! read more

Excellent. Tacos any version is awesome. Empanadas from the dough to the filling are so good. Nachos yummy. Drinks good. Service is always on par. Please give them a try if you have not already. read more

posting in hope it helps bring positive change! We have eaten here twice and unfortunately disappointed with the food both times. The food is very average and way overpriced. Trying to be too fancy with the food and it just doesn't work. A well trained chef who understands flavor profiles could probably save this restaurant but short of that I predict they won't be here next year. it tastes like a home cook trying to open a restaurant because their family says their cooking is delicious. I will say the restaurant is very beautiful and the people are very nice and trying hard but short of a major menu change and experience chef I don't see success for this place Believe me I hope you are here next year with much better food but I can tell by the reviews and the empty tables you have to look at reality don't be stubborn read more

The prices at this place are out of control. The cheapest way to get chips at this Mexican restaurant is $13 with salsa. The shrimp add on for the salad- $12 for 8 tiny shrimp that were so salty they were practically inedible (they put them on a plate separate from the salad, so it's easy to see it's only 8). Definitely not going back read more

Dropped in at 2 30 pm, very nice decor , not overly crowded layout. Excellent Margaritas, food was very good....some fresh spins on quesadillas and mole enchiladas.....even guacamole had some unique ingredients. A nice upgrade from the standard Mexican fare. read more

This California influenced Mexican upscale restaurant and bar sits in the former Grotto's Pizza boardwalk space in Bethany Beach. Based on other early reviews, I avoided a reservation since others with reservations were refused seating until their assigned times despite the restaurant being near empty. We were asked if we had one then seated promptly since 1/3 of the 150 or so seats were available. The wait staff was friendly but still learning as this new restaurant settles in. At one point the person dropping off food couldnt get a coke refill because they didnt know who our waitress was. It took about 10 minutes to hand out payment to a waitress which is slow but not terrible. A manager did check on our experience though. The mexican food is a healthier California style than the nearby fast Mexican option across the street. The flavor was mostly farm fresh vegetable and meat influenced with healthier beans complimenting them. The guac is home made and decent in a california way. Oddly they dont offer a vegetarian burrito option despite veggie tacos. I had to order a burrito with no meat. The kids menu was entertaining for the wait, and had the standard options kids enjoy. Other tables enjoyed the bar, though we stuck to soda. Milk is not an option for children who dont drink soda. Lemonaide was the kid friendly offering. Overall, this is an upper scale restaurant for california style mexican food and drinks with fair pricing and service. Once they work out reservations and teamwork it will probably be a 4 star out of 5 boardwalk option. For now, i'll go with 3 on this visit. read more

$20 for shrimp tacos. The tacos had one shrimp each that was maybe a 30-35ct size. It's not that the food is bad. It's that this is an absolute farce. read more

Great happy hour prices on food .. Super fresh Mexican food . Love the nachos and burritos.

Good food. Good margaritas. Waitress KOC was having a bad evening. Waived to get her attention to indicate ready to order. Yelled that i should never waive to a server. Loud enough for everyone nearby to see and hear. Very embarrassing. At one point i thought she was going to evict us even though i apologized for waving. Respect the rule but no need to carry on for 3o seconds about it. Go there but get a different .waitress. manager knew of the incident because she could see and hear. Came by table later and asked if e verything was ok. No explanation of the waiving rule. We said nothing. Yeah go there but obey their rules! read more

Great looking restaurant. The ambiance there is very nice with a good bar to have some drinks. The wait staff was very nice and checked in frequently to our needs. The food however is a different story. The street corn and the shrimp taco was bland. I had the pork taco which also was so so. We ordered wine with our meals and the pour was very light. The kitchen staff looked very inexperienced; I saw one cook reading what looked like directions to make the meal. I'm sure in time they will get it right. We will try again in a year. read more

The owner is always smiling and came to our table for our second visit, this time for lunch. The flavor sensations are delicious - on the suggestion of the waitress my husband had the Al Pastor Tamal. They were off the hook, pork, and pineapple with a corn tortilla. Incredible. My first visit I had the Chilies en nogada -Carne Asada Steak. This was so yummy and the best beans and rice i have ever had. The street corn was awesome and the staff very friendly. When I learned that the Steak is only Filet Mignon my mouth watered for more Chilies. I will go again and find it a refreshing change of pace at the beach. read more

We had a reservation at 7:30pm..we arrived at 7:35pm and the host/manager Sam welcomed us with a smile and told us she just texted us. We then had to wait 5 mins for her to clean/get a table ready. We sat down and the air was blowing right on us. She told us the air kicks on when the kitchen gets too hot. We asked for another table and Sam said " I have other reservations but I guess you can move to this table. " The new table was perfect. Looking around we saw 4 other tables that were opened and cleaned and at least 3 tables that needed to be cleared off. We moved and ordered our drinks. We ordered two dips. We ordered guacamole and queso street corn. We read the ingredients and both because we had a vegetarian with us, the menu didn't mention meat any either of them. The drinks arrived about 10 mins later, all very good. The two dips arrived about 10 mins later. We enjoyed both until we realized that chorizo was in the queso dip! As a vegetarian of 10 years, my friend felt disgusting! Kevin the food runner was walking by, so we stopped him and asked. He wasn't sure so he took the piece of meat to the kitchen and came back and told us it was chorizos. Our sever NEVER told us that the queso had meat in it. The rest of the food (pictured below) was great. We got the 2 dips and within 2 mins we had our meals. The timing was very off. The tacos and quesadilla were great. The manager Sam NEVER came over to apologize until we called her over. Our sever Madi NEVER asked how our food was or if we wanted another round of drinks. Madi seemed very young and sweet but needs more sever training. The timing on putting food in, coming back to the table after food is dropped off, and asking if we needed another round of drinks. Sam took off the queso and said that they were waiting for new menus to be printed, which is fine but severs need to be trained to tell guest what the menu is missing for food allergies reasons. Sam told us that our sever said she told us that chorizos was in the dip, but clearly she didn't because my friend wouldn't have ate it and we all weren't have been this upset about everything. I wish you all nothing but the best. read more

Dined here this evening at the bar. While everything was fine, it wouldn't warrant a return visit. Enjoyed the dip sampler and portion size was generous. Had a delicious spicy margarita. Barbacoa pork tacos were so wet from the pork braising liquid they were nearly impossible to eat and the shells were falling apart within a few minutes. Not sure why they wouldn't thoroughly strain the meat first. While pork was well cooked and tender, it was under seasoned and had little flavor. In total an underwhelming but not terrible experience. read more

The ambiance and staff here are very nice. But the margaritas are so watered down and you should stay away from the burritos (they use white rice - enough said). Their queso is delicious with blue tortilla chips, but that is the only positive thing I can say about dining here. read more

I'm writing a review in hope that they make some improvements. They did a nice job in terms of the decor. The big challenge is that prices are like they are in the Hamptons. Exorbitant. They charge $8 for a modelo beer. Cmon guys. A happy hour margarita is $9! In this town, people will try it once but I'd expect they go out of business within a year if they don't make meaningful pricing adjustments. This is officially the most expensive restaurant in Bethany and it shouldn't be. Lastly, the main female bartender was quite cold. read more

The quality of the food and drinks as well as the ambience do not nearly match the price of the meal. The margs were were $12-$14 and nothing special could have made much better at home. We ordered chips and queso and out came this enormous bowl of white stuff that was cheesy but i guess also sour creamy? Anyway it was not so great and some of the chips were under cooked. Soup and tacos were okay but still overpriced. Would not go back. read more

One of the few nice things I can say is that our server was very polite and attentive, hence 2 stars. We went this past Saturday, late afternoon. We sat on the outside deck,,, very nice view. Firstly, the tortilla soup that my son and I got was barely warm, also VERY salty,, big dissapointment. I got the chcken tacos, 3 small (street taco size) that was fairly tasty but for the price, just not worth it. My wife got the steak quesadilla. The meat was rare as requested but very fatty, The quesadilla was supposed to come with guacamole but that was missing. My son got a steak fajita. The server warned him of the "very hot" platter but the fajita was warm, not hot, sitting in a puddle of oil. The meat was alsovery fatty. For the cost of this fairly unappetizing meal, we could have gone to one of the many other mexican places in the area and had more food and i dare say, better quality. One last thing... I cannot think of any other Mexican restaurant that charges for tortilla chips and salsa like zoca does. That will be our last visit to zoca read more

Extremely friendly staff upfront but ordered veggie tacos, veggie fajitas, guacamole, yellow rice and received fish tacos, fish fajitas (without fixings, shells etc, only a cup of shredded lettuce) did not get guacamole or rice. Went here for lunch. All we had was a Mole enchiladas entree and tortilla chips with three different sauces and a burrito. The entrées didn't even come with rice and beans as those sides would've been an extra $11. The entrées are averaging about $25. And they doesn't come with rice & beans like most Mexican restaurants. The burrito was dry and so we asked for some standard salsa and then to our surprise, we were charged five dollars extra for that small side of salsa. We only had one margarita between us and a soda. The bill came to $90 and that's BEFORE tip. That's crazy for lunch. The food wasn't even that great either. The food itself and the soulsa I would rate at a two out of five stars. The waitress was very nice but... I will definitely not be going back there. Too expensive and not worth it. Add in a five dollar parking fee and it's a pretty expensive lunch. read more

Food usually good. Apps good. Service in Summer months lousy. Drinks just ok. We have been disappointed last few times we have gone.

Came here today for an early dinner and sat outside on the deck. Service was awesome and so was the food! My friend and I had the guac to start, and we both had chicken quesadillas. Oh my god these quesadillas were FANTASTIC! The guac and fillings inside were delicious. The manager even came over to check on us (I think her name was Sam?). Great location and we highly recommend (better than Agave in our opinion). We will very be back to try the cocktails and other items on the menu! read more

Love love love this restaurant! From the excellent service ( Thank you Makenzie), to the exquisite delicious food. Gluten free friendly. Staff were knowledgeable and pleasant. Started with appetizer of the trio of dips, pico de gallo, quac, and queso. The fried tortillas were dusted with seasoning and the dips were delicious. Entrees didn't disappoint either. We had the Mexican paella, with soft shell crab, lobster tail, plentiful shrimp and clams served with a spicy tomato based sauce, with rice... out of this world. Also ordered was the burrito bowl over yellow rice, pickled onions, quac, shredded lettuce, and chorizo.. ( can also be ordered with options like chicken, shrimp, Steak just to name a few). Also delicious. Portions are plentiful... A definite staple in our restaurant Rolodex! The margarita was good too! Stop by- you won't be disappointed!!!! read more

I like this place & I think that it has a lot of potential... Going to a restaurant in the first week is always interesting, and we'll see how they develop. Let's start with the drink list- it's fantastic- some clever upscale cocktails and good wine by the glass, as well as beers... I had a Resposado Manhattan- delicious! Our server, not too familiar with the menu... that will either come, or my guess is, they'll be elsewhere. The pozole was outstanding, as was the al pastor tamal- a clever turn or a classic. My wife got the fajitas, & they didn't come out sizzling, but she said that they were good. 2 different managers came up during our meal to ask us how things were. This is not the run of the mill Mexican place- it's upscale for sure, but it feels like it will be good! read more

Great place to go for happy hour! Incredible margaritas and must try nachos plus lots of other fun dishes to order from

Coming to Bethany for years... went to Zoca when they first opened and always enjoyed their take on Mexican food! This year - not so great. Table was sticky. Appetizer, chips and salsa took 20 minutes to come out. Drinks about the same. When the main dish came out they gave 3 of 6 people at the table their food while the other 3 waited 10 minutes. Chicken in the salad was dry; another salad was missing 1/2 of the ingredients. Manager tired to make it right and gave us $20 for a return visit. (Very nice gesture- but that is about it when paying for a very expensive meal for 6 people) I understand in the days post covid and the ability to have proper staffing, however, if the kitchen and bar cannot handle a full restaurant, than simply don't fill it!! read more

Everything I've eaten here has been top notch, amazingly delicious and fresh. Love this place. Drinks are also outstanding.

We went to ZOCA a few weeks ago and were impressed with the restaurant. Very nice decor with a Mexican look. Comfortable chairs and tables including high top tables. Robust menu with many vegetarian and regular Mexican options. Order sparingly because portions are big everything is quite fresh. Food is reasonably priced but not inexpensive. Drinks can run your bill up. Their guacamole is superb and their nachos are crisp and tasty. We'd go back to try more of the traditional dishes. Highly recommended fir a fun and delicious meal. read more

Sigh... the first time I ate at this restaurant was the summer of 2020. I had great food and service. I will say that the hostess stand has been great and very polite. Yet now I am sitting in the restaurant watching the dumpster fire that is the waiters of this restaurant. Our waiter has rushed us, been impolite, and has been running around taking care of tables that aren't even his. He said in the most tired and lazy voice "dO yOU kNoW WhAt YoU WaNT", I also had the great joy of watching another waiter schmooze with a table while 3 of his tables waited forever. He has been doing an excellent job of blaming everyone but himself for the poor service. Wow and here is my favorite part, the serving of the food, plates were just gestured towards us as the waiter and bus boy told us the wrong food. Amazing! I saw a grandfather get the bill from which turned out to be someone else's bill! Food was fine, but the chipotle Mayo is OVERWHELMING. Sure come for happy hour and drinks but don't eat here for pleasure. Also I'm pretty sure one waiter served a bunch a people underage! Nice establishment. read more

Great food. Not the cheapest by any means but delicious especially at the end of an out of the season beach day. W had nachos - excellent with crab, fajitas, tacos with blackened mahi mahi. Just not good and def not Mexican. The "chimichanga" was a huge tortilla with only a thick cheese inside that made my sister sick. Also the elotes were just corn with mayo, very sad. My aunt was rooting for this place to get closed the next year and it didn't. Don't go. read more
