Yolanda's special fried ice cream and sopapillas.

I expected some loud beach bar restaurant atmosphere, but I was so wrong. Mariachi is an upscale Mexican restaurant with even some Peruvian dishes. Our table of four were all pleased with their freshly crafted meals from steak fajitas to slow cooked orange infused pork. We all had drinks and were pleased by their delicious taste. Our server helped with menu choices and was attentive to our tables needs.

This restaurant is one of my staples at Rehoboth for the various seafood dishes, loaded Yucca fries and margaritas of corse. The servers are polite, attentive and good with recommendations. The upstairs has a festive, barbie, chill vibe with smble seating. It can be hot in the summer as it's a covered outdoor space with fans. The downstairs is smaller with a more upscale, clean fresh look. I got the who fried snapper (smaller than average) with the Yucca fries and salad. The sauce and salsa is a great flavor pallet for the crisp, hearty fries. I love a crisp fry.

Popped in for an afternoon snack. Had two frozen margaritas each which hit the spot on a sweltering hot day: the sangria rita and the fruity rita (strawberry). Had two orders of the chips and salsa (the salsa was really flavorful and fresh), a Margarita Salad which came with some sort of surprisingly good honey mustard dressing, the churros, which my GF housed, and the white fish ceviche. We both agreed we'd come back just for the ceviche. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. We arrived at about 5.15pm on a Wednesday and it wasn't terribly busy but crowds of people started pouring in about 20 minutes after we arrived. Got a little loud but that's not unexpected with the amount of people that came in. Haven't been to any other Mexican places in Rehoboth Beach but this place was pretty damn good. We are planning on going back for an actual meal before we leave the area.

This is one of our regular stops when we are in Rehobeth for our annual vacation. We love the chips and salsa and always add on an order of guacamole. My favorite is a picture of sangria, which is typically a white sangria. The service is quick and attentive. The noise level is low. We enjoy sitting on the upper patio for a nice view and some fresh air when possible. The seafood enchiladas are always a hit with fresh shrimp and scallops and a light cream sauce. My dad ordered the salmon with rice and said it was one of his favorite meals of the week. I got a mariachi salad which was fresh and full flavor. First time ordering chicken quesadillas, which were also a big hit.

"I hear Mariachi static on my radio And the tubes they glow in the dark And I'm there with her in Ensenada And I'm here in Echo Park" (Warren Zevon) Mariachi is downtown, just a block or two from the boardwalk. It's a Latin restaurant that covers the full spectrum of Latin cuisine from Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Peru, and across Latin and South America. Complimentary chips and salsa started us off, and then it was time to make a tough decision about our entrees. We decided on Seafood Enchiladas ($27) - "Two flour tortillas stuffed with shrimp and scallops topped with avocado and seafood sauce", and Mariscos Saltados ($27) - "Shrimp, scallops, mussels and squid sautéed with cilantro, jalapeño, tomatoes and onions in a Peruvian sauce, served with rice and black beans". My Mariscos was one of the best dinners I've had this year. It was a seafood stir fry loaded with seafood, and that sauce was great. I would have been happy just with that sauce in a big bowl of rice. Gotta give a shout out to our server, Jaime. It looked like he was the only one taking orders, so he was hustling around the dining room all night long. But he was always cheerful, helpful, and very professional. Mariachi was excellent.

Food was delicious and would definitely recommend coming here. The portion for the fajitas was shareable and perfect for 2 people. It's super popular for dinner (we came for lunch) so I recommend maybe making a reservation if you want to come for dinner. We ate on the second floor for lunch and it was so nice and breezy.

We ordered chicken fajitas, seafood and chicken enchilada and tres leches cake. Seafood enchilada was amazing as well as fajitas. I thought beans were bland and rice just ok. Service was efficient and friendly. Cake was very tasty.

We went there with a friend from Mexico who has lived in the US only a few years. I will only offer to go to restaurants that I think she will consider 'authentic' Mexican food and she approved of the food here. I can't remember what she had, but she enjoyed her meal. My husband enjoyed his beef chimichanga and I had the chicken carbonara which I thought was good. The staff were helpful and friendly and we would go back again when we are in the area.

Finally a Mexican restaurant that serves hard shell tacos! I've died and gone taco heaven. What a great authentic Mexican joint in the heart of Rehoboth. They have a small private parking lot for convenience. Now for the amazing Tacos. I tried the beef and chicken. The beef was loaded with shredded chunks. Not the ground beef kind. These were meaty and delicious! Same with chicken nice long pieces and seasoned perfectly. The sides were great too! Beans, rice, lettuce pico and sour cream. They also give you a side of salsa and chips! Which were also amazing! I'm so happy I found this place. I highly recommend if you're a crunchy taco person like me. You won't be disappointed. Service was great too!

    Kerri C.

The drink menu is the star of this Mexican restaurant. There are so many margaritas, caipirinhas, etc. to pick from (and in an assortment of flavors. I loved the Italian margarita- it was so delicious and different- and the passion fruit caipirinha was delicious too! If you're going for drinks, five stars. My dinner- the MASITAS DE PUERCO, left a lot to be desired. It was kind of bland. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I'd try this place out again though because of the drinks!

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch on a rainy afternoon. We ordered the chicken nachos and beef chimichanga. Food was fresh and delicious, large portions and reasonable pricing. $40 for lunch can't beat that!!! Will be coming back

Most offerings are accompanied by fresh sauce(s) and crispy vegetables. Fresh chips and incredible salsa/guac may be had at this little gem as well. Anything they offer with their signature Birria is just the best! Birria is a savory regional variation of barbacoa from western Mexico that owner Celso Morales has completely mastered. The Birria tacos are ample and come with a fresh green pepper sauce and sliced fresh radish on the side. The Birria burrito is simply delicious and the special order "XL" size is well enough for two people. The chicken here is phenomenal. This juicy, well seasoned chicken may be ordered in a taco, a burrito or a huge quesadilla - simply fantastic. The papusas are some of the best I've had in my long history loving them! The bean side order is like Abuelita used to make and the black beans and rice are flavorful and fresh! Celso once had a Sopa de Rez (Salvadorian beef and vegetable stew) special that had the most savory broth and huge chunks of beef! Really comforting stew on a chilly day! I try to explore the menu more each time but am drawn to my favorites (Birria! y pollo!). This place is amazing just like Celso and his wife Xiomara! Thank you for your delicious food!

They don't have a menu but it's $1 off beers and $3 off certain drinks. Masa Mondays offers $3 off certain dishes including papusas and empanadas. I couldn't find empanadas on the menu. We ordered the mofongo based on the great reviews and wanting to try something different. We also got the Papusa, a hibiscus drink and a margarita. Overall the food was good. The mofongo is heavy - so it's best eaten shared with something on the lighter side. The Mofongo comes with a topping of beef or shrimp. Our waiter didn't ask our preference so I thought maybe it comes with both. Later we heard another waiter ask the customer if they wanted beef or shrimp. We were given beef and that was fine but it would have been nice to have a choice! The disappointment came in the service. The waiter was unaware of happy hour or the Masa Monday discount. We asked about Happy Hour on arrival. Upon receiving the bill we had to ask for an adjustment. Then the bill came back and the Papusa (a $10 dish) was charged at $12 with a $3 discount. At this point I was tired of asking so we just let it go. To the owners - don't advertise discounts and then try to avoid them or not train your staff about them. Will not come back for that reason. I felt it was false advertising. Puts all the work on the customer to follow up.

Upscale Flavor in Downtown Lewes, but Something Was Missing…read more While on a business trip to Lewes, Delaware, I was in the mood for Mexican and Agave came highly recommended, so I decided to give it a try. What I really enjoyed right away was the location. This isn't along the main roadway or highway area that most people associate with Lewes, the more business-heavy stretch with fast food and chain spots. This is tucked into the charming downtown area near the canal, surrounded by neat little houses and a truly quaint, cool atmosphere. It's a great setting for an evening out. Agave is definitely more of an upscale Mexican restaurant, and the interior reflects that. Stylish, clean, and thoughtfully designed. I took a few photos because the ambiance adds to the experience. One thing that surprised me was that they don't bring out complimentary chips and salsa. At most Mexican restaurants, that's just part of the experience. Not a deal breaker, but it does set an expectation when you sit down. I started with the empanadas. They looked different from what I'm used to, but they were very tasty and full of flavor. They came topped with a fresh chopped tomato mixture, almost like a light salsa, along with a lime. After squeezing the lime over the top, the flavors really popped. Unique presentation and very flavorful. For my entrée, I ordered the veggie burrito. I asked the waitress if it came with chips on the side, and she said no, which was a little disappointing, especially considering the price point and upscale feel. When the burrito arrived, the presentation wasn't great, as you can see in the photo, but once again, the flavor delivered. Overall, I'm a bit mixed on Agave. The portion sizes were average, nothing extraordinary, but the food itself was definitely flavorful. For me, the lack of chips and salsa and the absence of a side with the burrito made it feel like something was missing, particularly at this price level. If I could offer one suggestion, adding chips and salsa or even a small side with the burrito would elevate the experience and better match the upscale positioning. Flavor-wise, they're doing a lot right. For now, though, I probably wouldn't return on my next trip.
