We went here for lunch on a weekday. It was not busy and they sat us right away. Inside is okay, nothing exciting but clean. Service was okay, not very fast and not super attentive but the waitress was nice. The chips and salsa was fine, again nothing special. We shared a margarita flight which was fairly good, tastes like it is all made from a mix so didn't love that but it was fun. For lunch I had a shrimp quesadilla- it was okay but not great. Not a lot of shrimp, one piece didn't have any shrimp at all. The rice was fine, a little on the dry side. I don't think we will be back again. read more

We ate here Wednesday night and enjoyed it. We had a larger group, but were still able to get seated immediately and without a reservation, which was nice. Most people in my group enjoyed their entrees. My uncle got the Hawaiian fajita with shrimp, which came in a pineapple and he very much liked it. My mom also liked her dinner. So did my fiancé, who got the Mexico special. My dad liked his food too. The only things I would say is their large guacamole has a little more tomatoes in it than some other guacamole's, so if someone isn't a big fan of tomatoes it's a good thing to know. I also probably would recommend their fajitas over my quesadilla as well. Overall though, it was a solid dinner. read more

My friends and I visited El Azteca on Friday night. We went on the later side, so it wasn't crowded. My one friend and I got quesadillas; I got a chorizo one and he got crab- they were both delicious! My other friend got a chicken burrito and enjoyed it as well! El Azteca is a cute little joint not too far from the main strip in Rehoboth Beach. Also they have a statue of Snoop Dogg holding coronas. I loved it! read more

We arrived as a very large group (note: they don't take reservations), and while there was a little confusion around the wait time, the owner went out of his way to accommodate us. He was incredibly kind and even offered us complimentary shots of their top-shelf margarita while we waited -- a classy and generous touch. Once we were seated, the service was exceptional, the food was absolutely incredible, and the prices were surprisingly great for the quality and portions. I've been to El Azteca over 50 times now. It really is my fave mexican restaurant. Came here again last night and we got the same 2 things we always order. Enchiladas Rancheras for me and the Mexico Special for my bf. Both are absolutely delish. Total comes to $30 for a dinner for 2. You can't beat it. Also they have the best salsa out of any mexican restaurant on planet earth. Easy parking and service is usually fast so you can be in and out if you want that (which we normally do). read more

Ate here for dinner with wife around 715pm. Busy and limited tables, however because it was 2 of us we were seated right away. Restaurant is clean inside and out. Staff seemed limited. Parking lot is a little tight. There is a bar. The chips and salsa is brought right away. The salsa has a zesty and hearty flavor. Wife also ordered queso which was too thin and runny hut tasty. The food arrived hot/fresh. The portions were good and price was fair. Waitress was polite but very busy with other tables and didn't get the refills needed. And when we were finished it took a while to get the bill and check out. Overall we were here for 1 hour. read more

Not too long ago, we found ourselves in Rehoboth Beach and craving some Mexican, so we made our way to El Azteca for dinner. They have a pretty wide variety of options to choose from, including tacos, quesadillas, burritos and more. We started out with a couple of house margs which were huge! We also went with their steak fajitas and the chorizo tacos. The fajitas came with the usual fixins including rice, sour cream and LTO. I'm not sure what it is, but that sizzle of the skillet gets me every time. And while I think it's tough to mess up a taco, these ones were good and hit the spot as well. I feel like it can be tough to find good food when you go to the beach. Most places have a touristy vibe and the quality is lacking. But this is a great spot near the beach to get your Mexican fix! read more

Nice place on "the forgotten mile"offering classic Mexican fare. They have upped their game on margaritas and the refried beans, the latter now smoother with a ton of flavor. The guacamole is also smoother now and the table side guacamole carts are gone. Very generous portions and they added weekend brunch. On a recent trip, I had the Texas salad, and of the proteins, the shrimp were the best. The place gets a lot of families for the early dinner time, but it's easier to get a spot a bit later. read more

Located on the Forgotten Mile, as Tecca is a local small chain of three restaurants in the area, it is definitely worth checking out due to the quality and value! I wish they had a better location because in this stretch of road even though it's on Highway one it's just very quiet. But the service is great the food is great especially the Del Mar fajitas, the taco salad and the enchiladas. If you follow me you'll know that I judge Mexican restaurants by the refried beans and their salsa both here are excellent. I highly recommend. Edit. Tried the Texas salad. We decided to try this place last night, while visiting my parents. It was an extremely sub par experience, unfortunately... and we left before we even ordered dinner. It was not busy when we got there at 5:45, it was smoky upon walking in from poor venting or the kitchen, I assume... and we ordered a chicken & cheese quesadilla right away for my 18m old, and asked for some time to look over the menu. We finally ordered drinks, and I ordered a gin martini with a twist of lemon - and my dad ordered wine. He had no idea which gin they had at the bar (it's a Mexican restaurant and most people probably don't order gin, so that made sense). We asked if they could make the margaritas with just tequila, lime, agave and club (skinny) for my mom & husband, because there was no cocktail menu, and he wasn't sure ... we finally asked if they could make a "skinny" margarita, and he said "yes", but seemed unsure. The server came back and said that they didn't have any olives for my martini (which I didn't order...) - so, I told him to just bring me a water, since I didn't want olives and lemon in my martini ‍... and we asked some questions about food, which the server did not have answers for. The kids quesadilla came out VERY quickly, and was nothing but grease and broken (American) cheese all over the plate, and the fries were definitely frozen crinkle fries that had been defrosted. She ate the fries, but I couldn't. Ring myself to give her the grease on a plate. We opted to leave, between the horrific food delivery, the lack of knowledge of just about anything we asked, and the overall sub par environment of the restaurant. The margaritas were decent. This is a large restaurant with modern decor, with a large bar stocked with around 50 different tequilas. I was alone so I chose to sit at the bar. Service was excellent! Anything I needed, I got in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a Modelo draft, ice cold, perfect. I asked about the Julio Real, and they do it at $30 a shot here. The other tequilas were reasonably priced as well. I went with a shot of Real after dinner for desert. Chips & Salsa!!! Chips...warm with a soft crisp, solid chip. Salsa...pureed hard, love the balance of the ingredients, with just enough cilantro to keep me happy. I could drink this stuff... I ordered the verde enchiladas: 3 rolled corn tortillas with chicken inside, verde sauce and melted cheese on top, lettuce, and sour cream. Served with a side of rice. I also got refried beans. The enchiladas cut easily with a fork. The chicken was tasty, tender, and delicious! The verde sauce had a little tang to it, but when you used the lettuce and sour cream....amazing combo! Beans...light, creamy texture, some of the best in the buisness. Rice...soft, fluffy, not dry at all, solid rice game. I ordered a chicken tamale with red sauce, and melted cheese on top. I was scared at first because it looked like many that I haven't liked. Forget about that!!! This was a really good tamle. The masa was soft and warm with no sign of dry. The chicken was again moist and delicious, and the sauce/cheese combo wasn't overpowering. This was something I'll get every time I go. One of the best I've had during this journey. I ordered tacos choosing chorizo, carnitas, and steak. Chorizo...good char, excellent flavor, and they were loaded with meat. The tortillas were solid, not my fav, but a good upper middle of the road. Carnitas...off the charts, right there with Chabelita and TM Burriro. The meat was tender, juicy, and had a crisp to the outside. I love me some good carnitas! Steak...marinated and seasoned to perfection, juicy, no salsa needed for any of these tacos. read more

My wife and I sat at a table in the bar area. The bartender who waited on us was extremely unfriendly. He treated us like an inconvenience. He didn't even introduce himself. He ended up forgetting my wife's entire food order and on top of that charged us for two half-full bowls of additional salsa, which by the way, was bland. Came here after the beach for a nice place to eat and were pleasantly greeted by just that! Staff was very friendly and service very fast. Granted, there weren't very many customers being the end of the beach season. The restaurant was clean, good atmosphere, and the bathroom impeccable! I MUST congratulate this business for being one of very few places I've been to that actually knows how to mount toilet paper!!! Thank you for putting it higher within reach and not on the floor! The food was your typical real Mexican food. Very tasty and good portion size for the Burritos Mexicanos and the Grande Special. We also had the Margarita Flights which were very strong for a restaurant. Usually alcohol gets watered down, but not here! Prices were also reasonable for what you get. Family dinner tonight was everyone did their own thing. Two of us ordered Japanese food that I do not appreciate. Two others ordered from a restaurant that does NOT offer much in the way of gluten free except salads. I was on my own. After looking at the wonderful menu online, I ordered and picked up from El Azteca. I had never eaten in any of their three restaurants, but I had seen them for years. I had eaten at a competing chain in Rehoboth, good but very salty. I had the Del Mar fajitas.  Plenty of shrimp and scallops.  They were GREAT.  NOT horribly salty.  Since I'm gluten free, they gave me soft corn tortillas.  Sadly, I wouldn't eat the taco chips because I don't know what else is fried in the same oil and I forgot to ask (my bad).  Well worth the $15.99 price! NOTE that their salsa for the chips was excellent and tasted homemade. It did NOT taste like it came out of a commercial tub. I've never seen mushrooms in fajitas before, but they worked very well and all flavors blended nicely. Dinner came with refried beans topped with a nice Mexican cheese and a little salad topped with guacamole, too! read more

This place is a gem. If you like frozen margaritas, you can get every color of the rainbow, and then other colors that aren't even in the rainbow here. The bar is lined with frozen margaritas as far as you can see. And the best part is that you can get these tall bags stacked with cups of margaritas to go, or even get yourself an entire gallon!!!whaaaaaaat! I've never drank so many cups of pink brainfreeze in my life. The food is mmmmmmmmmmm delicious! I got the regular fajitas and the ribeye fajita to compare and they were better than momma used to make when she was sober. For real though the portions are good which I wasn't expecting because the prices are very reasonable. Btw everyone in my party chose the original fajitas over the ribeye based on the flavor, although the ribeye was more tender. Also, please don't get "margarita" glasses like one reviewer recommended. Those things are so tacky and slow down service when you have to get a "real margarita glass." Mexicans don't really use them, nor do they drink many margaritas or cocktails at all. It's a tacky American trend from the 90's. It you should definitely get one for that customer who requested it. They said they come twice a month so you'd save a lot of money giving them 10 ounces in their "real margarita glass," instead of a pint. read more
