Margarita flight - mango, blue curaçao, sangria and mango
    Sherry W.

We went here for lunch on a weekday. It was not busy and they sat us right away. Inside is okay, nothing exciting but clean. Service was okay, not very fast and not super attentive but the waitress was nice. The chips and salsa was fine, again nothing special. We shared a margarita flight which was fairly good, tastes like it is all made from a mix so didn't love that but it was fun. For lunch I had a shrimp quesadilla- it was okay but not great. Not a lot of shrimp, one piece didn't have any shrimp at all. The rice was fine, a little on the dry side. I don't think we will be back again.

We ate here Wednesday night and enjoyed it. We had a larger group, but were still able to get seated immediately and without a reservation, which was nice. Most people in my group enjoyed their entrees. My uncle got the Hawaiian fajita with shrimp, which came in a pineapple and he very much liked it. My mom also liked her dinner. So did my fiancé, who got the Mexico special. My dad liked his food too. The only things I would say is their large guacamole has a little more tomatoes in it than some other guacamole's, so if someone isn't a big fan of tomatoes it's a good thing to know. I also probably would recommend their fajitas over my quesadilla as well. Overall though, it was a solid dinner.

My friends and I visited El Azteca on Friday night. We went on the later side, so it wasn't crowded. My one friend and I got quesadillas; I got a chorizo one and he got crab- they were both delicious! My other friend got a chicken burrito and enjoyed it as well! El Azteca is a cute little joint not too far from the main strip in Rehoboth Beach. Also they have a statue of Snoop Dogg holding coronas. I loved it!

Was ecstatic to find a restaurant without a wait on a Friday night. It was lively inside and the waitress was attentive. Food was great in my opinion. I would have gave 5 stars but the margaritas were not the best in my opinion. I wound return to try more menu items :)

I've been to El Azteca over 50 times now. It really is my fave mexican restaurant. Came here again last night and we got the same 2 things we always order. Enchiladas Rancheras for me and the Mexico Special for my bf. Both are absolutely delish. Total comes to $30 for a dinner for 2. You can't beat it. Also they have the best salsa out of any mexican restaurant on planet earth. Easy parking and service is usually fast so you can be in and out if you want that (which we normally do).

Ate here for dinner with wife around 715pm. Busy and limited tables, however because it was 2 of us we were seated right away. Restaurant is clean inside and out. Staff seemed limited. Parking lot is a little tight. There is a bar. The chips and salsa is brought right away. The salsa has a zesty and hearty flavor. Wife also ordered queso which was too thin and runny hut tasty. The food arrived hot/fresh. The portions were good and price was fair. Waitress was polite but very busy with other tables and didn't get the refills needed. And when we were finished it took a while to get the bill and check out. Overall we were here for 1 hour.

Not too long ago, we found ourselves in Rehoboth Beach and craving some Mexican, so we made our way to El Azteca for dinner. They have a pretty wide variety of options to choose from, including tacos, quesadillas, burritos and more. We started out with a couple of house margs which were huge! We also went with their steak fajitas and the chorizo tacos. The fajitas came with the usual fixins including rice, sour cream and LTO. I'm not sure what it is, but that sizzle of the skillet gets me every time. And while I think it's tough to mess up a taco, these ones were good and hit the spot as well. I feel like it can be tough to find good food when you go to the beach. Most places have a touristy vibe and the quality is lacking. But this is a great spot near the beach to get your Mexican fix!

Delicious Mexican food with great sauces. The service is good, prices are great. I love the combination platters they feed two people.

    This was their "salad".

Cons: The food was mid, I asked for no pico and I got pico. My brother asked for medium steak and it was rare, medium, and well done? I've never seen a streak be all three. Pros: - The runner was cute tho, I wish I got his number - They also didn't charge for the horchata - The server was super on top of it, spoke amazing Spanish, and nice.

Nice place on "the forgotten mile"offering classic Mexican fare. They have upped their game on margaritas and the refried beans, the latter now smoother with a ton of flavor. The guacamole is also smoother now and the table side guacamole carts are gone. Very generous portions and they added weekend brunch. On a recent trip, I had the Texas salad, and of the proteins, the shrimp were the best. The place gets a lot of families for the early dinner time, but it's easier to get a spot a bit later.

    Total crap meat

The worst "Mexican" food. I had better burritos in high school 40 years ago! I couldn't tell between the burrito or the enchilada I ordered. They were both the same, tortilla with hamburger with tomato sauce dumped on top. I couldn't eat it. Worse restaurant in Rehoboth and surrounding areas!

Meat was bad and made me ill. Bad service. With many other options out there, I'd suggest going anywhere else.

I'll start with writing something nice. In the business world we call this a compliment sandwich…read morebut since this is a Mexican restaurant, it'll be a "compliment quesadilla". The margarita flight was good. Just the right amount of alcohol and good selection of flavors, though the presentation, hallmarked with half-melted ice cubes on the tiny serving tray, inspired little admiration for its preparation. Normally I don't care that much about appearances but the atmosphere of this place felt like it was stepping back into the 1980s - my grandparents basement to be exact - complete with shiplap walls, little to no Mexican themes (grandparents were of slavic descent) and limited light. It was slightly less clean and I can concur from one of the other reviews that the food stuck to the menus popped out in surprise, distracting me from the itemized list of Mexican and ocean-inspired cuisine. There was music, but I'm pretty sure I heard Cher, so it wasn't exactly the kind of music you'd expect to hear in a Mexican restaurant. The service was just... weird. I wasn't sure if I was welcome there or an inconvenience. Every time it was time to order it felt like we were being given a verbal pop quiz by an impatient gym teacher. Then the food came out and it was lackluster experience to say the least. I got a burrito that might have been 1/8 meat and the rest filler. It would have made any muscle head beach-type body builder order another 6 to get the necessary proteins. Also at the table, we had enchiladas sans an adequate amount of enchiladas sauce, so embarrassingly light, it was like a burrito pretending it had another name. The strangest phenomenon was the inclusion of potatoes in the beef tacos. We weren't sure if it was a mistake or meant to make them look fuller due to the anti-protein vibes that seem to conflict the chefs that work here. We heard there was dessert, cheesecake, from the waiter, though we weren't sure he wanted us to stay any longer. Our party quickly paid and gathered our things to leave. I suppose there needs to be another compliment here to make this a complete "compliment quesadilla"? The good news is that we had enough room for more food on the nearby boardwalk, which was fun and inviting especially after this unfortunate dining experience. 2 stars because the drinks were good, but I hear there are other Mexican places nearby that can do that well too, and much more.

The food came out late, and my Dad's soup didn't come. The waitress said what did you order? He told her again, she left, and never came back. They didn't have enough staff for the amount of people eating. We all eat, my Dad has no food. I couldn't order another drink, my son had no ketchup. The waitress came over after my Mom flagged her down, and we said where is the soup? She said oh they said it didn't taste good in the kitchen. Sorry it's bad. So my dad said just take it off the bill I ate enough chips. I had to go track the wait staff down for us to get ketchup for my sons kids meal and the bill. Then of course the soup was on the bill..... terrible service and wait times. To make things worse, I went to the bar to order my second drink, the bar tender charged me for two drinks. He was then rude when I said, I only ordered one drink. Tried to give me cash, the wrong amount back, I said, no my drink was $6, it says that on the menu. My family still hadn't gotten their check paid, so more waiting. The food was mediocre for Mexican. The salsa was the best part but can't give it more than 1.5 or 2 stars. Get it together on a busy weekend. Everyone at the bar was also complaining about how slow they were.
